First Line Meme
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line, then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
Hey @applesfallingfromblondehair, thanks for the tag love!! likewise i dont usually do this but this feels interesting so lets see if my ass has improved over the last few stories lmfkjgjk
also this will prob be a mix of xmcu fic + kingsman fic bc i think i have a more or less equal number of fics written for both
1.
The first time Charles meets Lucifer Morningstar, actual devil from hell, ruler of the underworld, fallen son of the lord above and god knows what else, it had been after Erik had been sentenced to life imprisonment in the highest security cell in the Pentagon.
- this is from a professor and a devil walk into a bar, which is kinda a crossover rarepair fic that rose out of me and mutuals on twitter discussing tom ellis and james mcavoy being roommates and kinda... devolved from there. i am proud of this one lmfnjgkj
2.
“Are you okay, Professor?” Hank asks quietly.
Charles blinks. He supposes it’s a valid question. He’s been in a bit of a funk the past few days- scratch that actually, the past few years. He’s just lost so much- his father, and then his mother’s love, and then Raven and Erik and Sean and countless others. Building a school, gaining students he loved to teach and nurture hadn’t helped him in the slightest, and he’s as lost as he ever was, wandering the halls of a drafty mansion alone, feeling like he’s been stranded at sea even whilst surrounded by people.
- from in the belly of the beast, which again came out of me wondering what would have happened if fox had gone w their original plan and charles had been that last horseman instead of erik. this story will prob gain a sequel... sometime in the near future when im not too bogged down by current wips
3.
The Xavier family hall of the deceased- because of course they’re weird enough to have a cemetery- is full of rows upon rows of holograms. Charles is four and gets bored of his father crying over his mother’s hologram, so he toddles over to the other rows. Unfamiliar names, all of them- Charles is young, and he doesn’t understand death. He doesn’t even know who his mother is, who’d died at childbirth and left him with a father still at a loss when it came to bringing up a kid.
- from tequila on a spaceship, the sequel to a fic that still has some people angry at me i think. this fic never did gain as much traction as the first one but im still proud of it esp since it discusses certain themes of reincarnation that ive always wanted to see explored for myself in reincarnation aus (and i only ever saw it in danveresque’s reincarnation au)
4.
There are cork boards covering every inch of the wall. Red strings, photographs, conspiracy threads, everything. Raven takes it in, swallowing, noticing the picture in the middle.
It’s one of Charles, when he’d been in university. His final year- he'd just been done presenting his year- end project, his fringe a tumbled mess and a bright smile on his lips. Erik had taken the picture, Charles scurrying to his side once he’d been done and demanding to look at the image, his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth. He looks like how Raven had always imagined him to be.
“He wouldn’t want this,” she finally says, turning to look at Erik.
- from tequila on a beach, the first fic to the fic above. this fic is v special to me because i actually wrote this on a spiral after having a very tough visit with one of my parents in the hospital after a surgery for organ removal to prevent the onset of cancer. its simpler than my other fics yet i think more powerful because of what happens. also i think the first time i killed charles off lol (spoiler alert). also idk if ppl were aware of this but this is called tequila on a beach precisely bc charles and erik were tipsy from tequila at a frat party and then went to a beach. its the way they first met (and will continue to meet for all their next lives)
5.
Erik doesn’t know how it all started. Maybe it was when his insane sergeant had started rambling about imaginary cities, treasures of gold and cursed incantations. Maybe it was when trickles of rumours had started pouring down about the higher ups wanting to investigate unfound territory, disregard the Egyptian government’s feelings on the matter, and put a previously unfound myth on the map for all the world to see. Or maybe, Erik thinks, it was when archaeologist Klaus Schmidt put a bullet through his mother’s head and he ended up going to America armed with dual citizenship and the sole intent of wanting to drive a coin directly between Schmidt’s eyes, joining a division of the American military focused solely on guarding archaeological digs- more importantly, in Egypt, where Schmidt’s interest had shifted.
- from courting the end of the world, another one i’m just insanely proud of! this is the first time i’ve ever attempted a multichapter movie au and it actually managed to work pretty well, i at least haven’t run out of inspiration for it yet lmfjgjg. also erik as himbo rick connell... very rent free in my head
6.
The day after they murder Shaw and leave his house of horrors, Erik crosses the Canadian border with Charles across his back. Charles had started getting tired while they’d been walking, stumbling and nearly tripping until Erik had forced him to get on his back, ignoring Charles’ protests.
The blood’s seeping out steadily from Charles’ nose, staining his shirt and soaking it through. It’s been leaking on and off, and the effects are already obvious in the dark circles beneath Charles’ eyes. Any more, and Erik knows they’ll have to find him a doctor. He hopes the nearest town in Canada has one that would be willing to treat them.
- from a world built for two. i actually dk where the inspiration for this came from, i think i was once again on a depressive spiral and wanted to break my comfort characters into pieces and put them together again. this also deals with codependency and unhealthy coping mechanisms as a result of trauma which i showed as sweet in the fic but i would def not recommend in real life. pls if u relate to either charles or erik in this go see a therapist
7.
The call comes in the afternoon, an hour before Charles is supposed to teach his Intro to Genetics class. Frowning, Charles abandons the game of Candy Crush he’d admittedly been playing rather badly and picks it up. “Charles sp-”
“We need you, Prof,” Kitty says desperately into the phone. “He’s been in a temper all morning, and then Alex’s reports missed out a whole subsection, so he’s fired the entire marketing team! Please, Professor, you have to come immediately!”
- from and we can be pirates. i wrote this in like 4 seconds for my friend who wanted professor charles and ceo erik and actually did not expect this to gain the attention it did... its always the fics u write in like 4 seconds lmfjggj. a sequel for this Is coming too probably at some point in the very far future
8.
Charles Xavier can admit as he sits across from Essex, hands cuffed to the desk, that in hindsight, this had perhaps not been one of his better ideas.
He refuses to admit it as he controls Erik’s mind, preventing him from lashing out and making him close his eyes to the nightmare unfolding in front of him. He refuses to admit it as he gets shoved into the back of a black pickup truck, and the butt of a gun is smashed across his forehead hard enough to knock him out cold for a few hours. He refuses to admit it when he wakes up what appears to be hours later in a cold interrogation room, hands cuffed to the table in front of him, with a suppression collar rendering his mind dark and almost achingly silent.
- from from the land of gods (bring me home). i’ve been struggling w this fic a lot (it didnt come as easily to me as the first one did) but its getting there. also i put charles through hell in this rip sorry mister xavier
9.
In the aftermath, both of them stand at the border of the mansion. The air feels frigid, slicing into Raven’s lungs like a thousand paper cuts. “Charles, please,” she begs, heart in her throat and voice hoarse. “He wouldn’t want you to be like this. He wouldn’t want you to do this. It’s not too late, you can come back.”
Charles gazes back, a brick wall. He hasn’t even cleaned up, still in that damnable yellow and blue suit with blood drying in the corners of his mouth, the bridge of his nose. There’s nothing in his eyes- blank, almost see through. He looks as if he’s a mere shade, a ghost lounging about where he once was. Raven knows better.
“I will raze the world to the ground,” he finally says, his voice free of any inflection, “and when I’m done, no one will be left standing. Not you, and certainly not me.”
- from where all the poets went to die, a dark fic based on what would have happened if moira had killed erik with the bullets. its the first time ive written dark charles and it was v fun if im being honest
10.
Charles is a light sleeper. It’s a trait that stays with him- all the way from his father and the tests to taking care of his mother to Cain Marko and his fists to Cuba and then now, the dust of Washington settling over him and making the waking world lie an inch beyond his eyelids. It therefore stands to reason that the second the windowsill creaks he’s up in a shot, hoisting himself up and lashing out with his telepathy instantly.
That’s not a trait that had stayed with him. That’s a newly formed trait, bitter and bold, carved into existence by Cuba by his students disappearing one by one in Vietnam by the letters that announce Sean’s death in black unfriendly print by-
The tendrils of his telepathy forged cold and distant meet a barrier and recoil, stunned. He focuses his eyes and then widens them, staring at Erik who stares back, hidden beneath that infernal muddied magenta helmet of his. They stare at each other for a moment before Erik clears his throat.
- from in the valley of kings (you will come home). my first ever cherik fic! im actually also proud of this one even if i ended it horribly and half my mutuals refuse to read it bc of how it ended LMFJGJGJ. i cant believe this was supposed to be a funny and cute kid fic and then i turned it into an angst ridden mess. also leo is actually an oc whose adult version is fancasted as charlie rowe by me and another mutual on twitter and im v proud that readers are willing to die for the baby
11.
Mike has to google it, finding a crafts shop nestled into the corner of the street right smack in the middle of Louisiana, past a long and winding dirt road and the crumbling farmhouses relics of a time long past. The air is hot, humid, sticking to the back of his neck like an unwieldy parasite as he pushes the door of the shop open to the sound of the bell tinkling above.
He finds the origami paper quickly enough and has a momentary breakdown about what Bill’s favourite colour even is- he had never thought to ask him. Twenty seven years of following every single footstep of his like a dedicated, most definitely creepy stalker, three months of more than a few states traversed with Bill’s laughter now echoing in his ears like a shadow that trails after him, and this is what stumps him. It takes ten minutes, but he finally settles on light green.
- my first and last entry into the IT fandom bc i love these two but to be very fair there isn’t much content out there for him (and twitter content actually intimidates me lmfjgjjg) a thousand paper cranes never got much traction either but i suspect its bc i was horrible at promoting it. also i very much love this fic even if it never did that well bc ive always wanted to write a fic like this after watching the movie in cinemas in 2019
12.
ok nsfw i guess
Mornings start like this- Eggsy snuffling into David’s neck, attempting to work his way back up to wakefulness as David sleeps the sleep of the dead, the streams of morning sunlight gradually lightening up the room. It’s a while before he gets the energy to sit up, pushing an eager V off the bed- V for Vendetta, a kitten named after one of David’s favourite movies that they’d adopted about a month after moving in together- before stumbling to the loo. He’s already in the shower when David comes in, naked as the day he’s born with his arms entwining themselves around Eggsy’s waist as he murmurs a sleep-soft, “Good morning, love,” as he presses a kiss into the two-days-old hickey on Eggsy’s shoulder. His breath smells of toothpaste, the minty fresh kind he insists on buying from Target no matter how much Eggsy insists that the other brand is much better. Without fail, Eggsy always has a split second thought of thinking that he must truly be in heaven because no way can this be his reality, every single day, before sinking to his knees and allowing David’s cock to hit the back of his throat.
- from that’s the kind of love i’ve been dreaming of. i genuinely wish i had an opinion for this but i don’t remember writing this its been way too long
13.
The first time Eggsy sees her is in Trafalgar Square.
Trafalgar Square is uncomfortably packed on any normal day, but on New Year’s it is quite the hothouse. Sweating armpits and hot bodies plastered against each other, the twinkling lights overhead providing a flash of blue and green and yellow and red, screaming children and giggling teenagers shoving their way through- it’s a recipe for disaster. Eggsy doesn’t know how he ends up there. It happens sometimes- one second he blinks, sequestered in the comfort of his living room, and the next he’s somewhere else, as if he’s been teleported. “Life goes past you,” Tilde had said once, “and you don’t even notice.” Tilde would be right.
- this is a roxy and eggsy friendship centric fic that i abandoned bc i lost my ardor for this world about the same time i got into xmen lmfjgjg. all the king’s horses also had some great fancasts in it with dev patel fancasted too... rip ig
14.
once again, nsfw
Eggsy, truth be told, doesn’t actually like having sex in bathrooms. First of all, bathrooms generally have an unsanitary air about them. Besides that, the granite of the sinks always feel cold against his hips, there is the ever present fear of being walked in on and unlike what people might say, he actually really isn’t that much of an exhibitionist- and truth be told, he’s never liked the look of himself in the mirror mid coitus.
For David Budd, however, he suspects he might be up for anything.
- from do you ever dream of me. im actually proud of this fic and this series, i never usually write straight up porn or friends w benefits and i think it worked well in here. once again didnt get much traction but that was very of the norm for my kingsman fics lmfjgj
15.
It is on his fifth meeting with the therapist on site that she brings the issue up. The elephant in the room- or the bomb , David thinks morbidly. If asked, he can’t remember specifics about that day now. All he remembers is this- the burn of Julia’s picture in his wallet against his thigh, the Botticelli painting on the far wall and Miss Paulson’s face, severe and unsmiling.
“When you couldn’t reach Julia,” she says, after he finishes describing the feeling of running to Julia, the panic searing his chest as he’d prayed for his legs to work faster so he could do something, anything to reach her hand. “How did that make you feel?”
- from your haunted social scene. i genuinely... do not remember anything about this either helpfkjgjg,,, this has 55 comments tho which. Nice
16.
David brings her home on- in a move far too cliche for it to be reality- a stormy night. It’s in fact storming so hard the windowpanes shudder like leaves in the wind, droplets crashing against the glass in a cacophony so loud Eggsy more than once considers turning the radio all the way up to drown it out. He’d gone scrounging for David’s sweatshirts instead of his own halfway through, wincing intermittently at the flashes of thunder. At a particularly loud one JB had jumped up, squeaked in a very undoglike manner and skidded across the floor to cower beneath the sofa, only coming out when coaxed by Eggsy to do so. Officer Oatmeal had watched the proceedings from her regal place by the armchair, dozy eyed and blinking heavily.
- from a cat named lavender. from what i remember this was also my first try at bringing up trans eggsy
17.
He first appears at the black prince on a cold Monday evening, eyes like Frank Sinatra and lips arresting anyone’s gaze if they weren’t careful enough. He stood out too, clad in a respectable bomber jacket and boots that clicked against the tile rhythmically and loudly, a sort of organised, measured cacophony.
“Go and serve him,” Andrew said, fat and disinterested, seated behind the counter and idly flicking through bills, less than ten percent of which he pays Eggsy. “I’m busy.”
- from trust is left in lovers after all. i never continued this which is sad bc this did get a lot of attention... it was just v hard to keep the story going
18.
It usually rains cats and dogs in London but for some reason, the rain is heavier than usual today. The droplets splatter against the windows in a constant buzzing rhythm, the sound meshing together in a melody not altogether pleasant to the ears. It’s half past five and yet the light has to be kept on because that’s how dark the sky has gotten- thunder rolls like a loud crack, abrupt and deafening, causing Daisy to jump in her seat.
“Just a thunderstorm, flower,” Eggsy says. They’re seated at the dinner table, Eggsy going over her homework while David sits opposite them, hunched over his laptop as he attempts to finish a post mission report. Eggsy is half convinced he gave up ten minutes ago- he’s got his earbuds in and he hasn’t really typed anything in a while, eyes focused on the screen. His eyebrows are scrunched up in a glare that’s too adorable for his own good- and for Eggsy’s.
- from could feel like kryptonite. a lot of my kingsman fics are actually so much happier than my cherik ones... i should prob look into that rip
19.
“When you’re done lazing around you can come in, you dozy dog,” he tells Officer Oatmeal, who butts her nose into his knee. She’s the only one not on a diet in the house, Eggsy deeming her far too healthy and skinny to need one anyway. In fact, she’s under strict instructions by Eggsy to fatten up instead.
Once the animals are done feeding- Eggsy sporting a suspicious scratch on his left forearm- they settle down to eat their scrambled eggs and toast. David’s taken a large gulp of his scalding coffee when Eggsy says, all of a sudden, “So, I have a school reunion.”
- from gonna set this dance alight. don’t remember much about this either tbh
20. (the last one FINALLY)
It isn’t a big event or explosion that makes David realise he wants to see his father’s ring sitting pretty on Eggsy’s index finger. No teary confessions in the rain like in the rom coms Eggsy loves to rent out and sniffle his way through, or a fight that makes David see sense. In the end, it’s breakfast that cinches the deal for him.
The day had started out normally enough. David wakes up at eight like clockwork, the soft downy hair at the base of Eggsy’s neck tickling his nose with his arm locked tight around his waist. He’d yawned, exhausted- mostly because they’d stayed up very late into the night making good use of the bed- before standing up and shucking his shirt off to head for the shower. Eggsy had shifted in his sleep, mumbling something unintelligible, and the sight had been too endearing to resist so he’d bent down, pressing a kiss to his forehead and smiling when Eggsy groaned out loud.
- from lover boy rules. i actually started a lot of my kingsman fics in the same way which is rather awful of me. im glad thats changed with my xmen fics lmfjgjk. also this has 15 comments???? i dont even get that much attention with my xmcu fics these days... which is arguably a more active fandom... Hello
anyway that’s the end of it needless to say i do not know 10 other authors so im just gonna tag whoever i know rn: @hellfre , @queerneto, @ikeracity, @drinkingstars, @zebraljb
#whew this is super long i apologise#u can pinpoint the exact time i replaced taron with james as my number one boy#fic tag#fic meme

Canada to require air travelers to be vaccinated (AP) The Canadian government will soon require all air travelers and passengers on interprovincial trains to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said Friday that includes all commercial air travelers, passengers on trains between provinces and cruise ship passengers. “As soon as possible in the Fall and no later than the end of October, the Government of Canada will require employees in the federally regulated air, rail, and marine transportation sectors to be vaccinated. The vaccination requirement will also extend to certain travelers. This includes all commercial air travelers,” his office said in a statement. France announced this week that it will require people have a special virus pass before they can travel by plane, train or bus across the country.
Debt: So long to the savings glut (The Week) “Americans are borrowing again,” said AnnaMaria Andriotis at The Wall Street Journal. After a year in which many consumers reduced spending, stashed savings, and used stimulus checks to pay down debt, more people have gone back to “splurging on cars, vacations, and eating out”—and seeking loans to pay for it. “Lenders originated some 3 million auto loans and leases in March, the highest monthly figure on record,” with the balances for those new originations topping a record $73 billion. A record 6 million new general-purpose credit cards were also issued the same month. The balances on our cards are still “about $140 billion lower than at the end of 2019,” said Alexandre Tanzi and Katia Dmitrieva at Bloomberg. But household debt—which includes mortgages, credit cards, and other consumer loans—rose in the second quarter “at the fastest pace since 2013.” Much of that was driven by the hot housing market—and Americans scrambling to refinance while mortgage rates remained low.
More US cities requiring proof of vaccination to go places (AP) Hold on to that vaccination card. A rapidly growing number of places across the U.S. are requiring people to show proof they have been inoculated against COVID-19 to teach school, work at a hospital, see a concert or eat inside a restaurant. Following New York City’s lead, New Orleans and San Francisco will impose such rules at many businesses starting next week, while Los Angeles is looking into the idea. The new measures are an attempt to stem the rising tide of COVID-19 cases that has pushed hospitals to the breaking point, including in the Dallas area, where top officials warned they are running out of beds in their pediatric intensive care units.
Western fires threaten thousands of homes, strain resources (AP) A month-old wildfire burning through forestlands in Northern California lurched toward a small lumber town as blazes across the U.S. Western states strained resources and threatened thousands of homes with destruction. Crews were cutting back brush and using bulldozers to build lines to keep the Dixie Fire from reaching Westwood east of Lake Almanor, not far from where the lightning-caused blaze destroyed much of the town of Greenville last week. To the northwest, the Monument Fire continued to grow after destroying a dozen homes and threatened about 2,500 homes in a sparsely populated region. They were among more than 100 large wildfires burning in a dozen Western states seared by drought and hot, bone-dry weather that has turned forests, brushlands, meadows and pastures into tinder. The U.S. Forest Service said Friday it’s operating in crisis mode, fully deploying firefighters and maxing out its support system.
500 years later, Mexico recalls Spanish conquest (Los Angeles Times) The final resting place of one of Mexico’s signature historical figures is easy to miss. A simple red plaque—just a name and the years he lived—marks the spot where his tomb is embedded in a wall to the side of the altar in a dilapidated downtown church. The name alone, however, recalls centuries of conflict and a never-ending debate about the essential identity of Mexico: HERNAN CORTES 1485-1547. The legendary Spanish military commander may be hidden away in death, but a few blocks away, authorities are readying a remembrance of his momentous triumph—the conquest of the Aztec Empire. Friday marks the 500th anniversary of the fall in 1521 of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlán, now the site of Mexico City. The bloody siege culminating in its surrender launched three centuries of Spanish dominion in Mexico. “We were all born from the conquest, no longer Aztecs, no longer Spanish, but Indian-Hispanic-Americans, mestizos,” wrote Carlos Fuentes, the late Mexican author. “We are what we are because Hernán Cortés, for good or for bad, did what he did.”
7.2 magnitude earthquake hits Haiti; at least 304 killed (AP) A powerful magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southwestern Haiti on Saturday, killing at least 304 people and injuring at least 1,800 others as buildings tumbled into rubble. Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he was rushing aid to areas where towns were destroyed and hospitals overwhelmed with incoming patients. The epicenter of the quake was about 125 kilometers (78 miles) west of the capital of Port-au-Prince, the U.S. Geological Survey said, and widespread damage was reported in the hemisphere's poorest nations as a tropical storm also bore down. Henry declared a one-month state of emergency for the whole country and said some towns were almost completely razed.
Belarus floods the European Union with migrants (CNN) Desperate, frightened and begging for help, they emerge from the darkness: a group of Yazidi migrants, lost in the forests of eastern Europe. It’s a surreal sight—and one that has been repeated over many recent nights. Having survived persecution by ISIS at home in Iraq, here on the Belarus-Lithuania border the Yazidis find themselves caught up in a breathtakingly cynical plot. Belarus’s authoritarian leader, Alexander Lukashenko, has been accused of using these desperate souls as pawns in his high-stakes game with the European Union. Over the course of 24 hours from July 27 to 28, a record 171 people were caught on the border—many of them Iraqis. A total of more than 4,000 have been caught so far this year. European officials say Lukashenko’s bureaucracy is extracting thousands of euros from each traveler then “weaponizing” them—according to Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis—in order to burden Belarus’s neighbor Lithuania. Officials say the migrants are flown from the Middle East to Minsk, and then guided to the Belarus-Lithuania border by unspecified facilitators, where they are allowed to cross, unimpeded by Belarusian border police. Lithuania has called it “petty”—“mass revenge” for sanctions imposed by the EU after Belarus forced a Ryanair plane to land in Minsk so they could arrest an opposition blogger on board. A Western intelligence official told CNN the scheme could not function without the permission of the Belarusian state, and that Lukashenko was likely using the migrants as a way to pressurize the EU into negotiations on lifting the sanctions against him.
Heat wave edges higher in southern Europe (AP) Intense heat baking Italy pushed northward towards the popular tourist destination of Florence Friday while wildfires charred the country’s south, and Spain appeared headed for an all-time record high temperature as a heat wave kept southern Europe in a fiery hold. Italy saw temperatures in places upwards of 40 C (104 F), and Rome broiled. By late afternoon Friday, the heat in Florence reached 39 C (102 F). That city and Bologna also were issued alerts for Saturday by the health ministry. Many southern European countries have suffered days of intense heat, accompanied by deadly wildfires in Algeria, Turkey, Italy and Greece. Wildfires on the Italian island of Sardinia were reported largely contained, but a blaze early Friday near Tivoli in the countryside east of Rome forced the evacuation of 25 families.
At least 40 killed in Turkey flood as search for missing continues (Reuters) Families of those missing after Turkey’s worst floods in years anxiously watched rescue teams search buildings on Saturday, fearing the death toll from the raging torrents could rise further. At least 40 people have died from the floods in the northern Black Sea region, the second natural disaster to strike the country this month. Drone footage by Reuters showed massive damage in the flood-hit Black Sea town of Bozkurt, where emergency workers were searching demolished buildings.
Marine vanguard lands in Kabul as US speeds up evacuations (AP) The first forces of a Marine battalion arrived in Kabul at week’s end to stand guard as the U.S. speeds up evacuation flights for some American diplomats and thousands of Afghans, spurred by a lightning Taliban offensive that increasingly is isolating Afghanistan’s capital. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said “elements” of a battalion were now in Kabul, the vanguard of three Marine and Army battalions that the U.S. was sending to the city by the end of the weekend to help more Americans and their Afghan colleagues get out quickly. The Taliban, emboldened by the imminent end of the U.S. combat mission in the country, took four more provincial capitals Friday, heightening fears they would move soon on the capital, which is home to millions of Afghans.
‘Why did my friend get blown up? For what?’ (Washington Post) After enlisting in the U.S. military against his family’s wishes, Chicago native Tom Amenta said he found himself in “middle-of-nowhere,” Afghanistan, in 2002 as an Army Ranger in a remote area some 15 minutes from the border with Pakistan. He was fighting the initial battles of a war that few knew would stretch on for 20 years. Now 40 and retired from the military, he felt anger foam inside as he watched the evening news. Headline after headline broadcast the latest gains by Taliban fighters, who have seized control of more than a dozen of the country’s provincial capitals as the Afghan government inches closer to collapse in the final days of the U.S. withdrawal. Friends who had been killed there came to mind, including NFL star Pat Tillman. Fond memories of former Afghan colleagues, such as interpreters, who remained in the country and whose fates he didn’t know, also resurfaced. “It makes me angry, really angry,” Amenta said of the U.S. withdrawal, lamenting the billions upon billions of dollars spent on the war effort—not to mention the emotional, financial and human toll suffered by thousands of Americans who served or sent their loved ones to fight in Afghanistan. “I mean, why did my friend get blown up? For what?” said Amenta. “No one’s saying, ‘Hey, you know, at least we did something.’ There’s just nothing to really show for it,” former Army medic Frank Scott Novak said. “And so, everyone’s kind of angry and wondering, why? Why were we even there?”
Nobody running Lebanon, says central bank boss (Reuters) Lebanon’s central bank governor said nobody was running the country as he defended his decision to halt fuel subsidies that have drained currency reserves, saying the government could resolve the problem by passing necessary legislation. In an interview broadcast on Saturday, governor Riad Salameh pressed back against government accusations that he had acted alone in declaring an end to the subsidies on Wednesday, saying everyone knew the decision was coming. The move is the latest turn in a crippling financial crisis that has sunk the Lebanese pound by 90% in less than two years and pushed more than half the population into poverty. Salameh said Lebanon could recover but it was not possible to say how many years that would take. “So far you have nobody running the country,” he said in the interview with Radio Free Lebanon. Lebanon’s sectarian politicians have failed to agree on a new government since Prime Minister Hassan Diab quit last August after the catastrophic Beirut port blast.

The Canadian Armed Forces will deploy three medical assistance teams to health-care facilities in Ontario, mostly in the Greater Toronto Area, according to a senior defence source with knowledge of the file.
Exact destinations are yet to be determined, but the first flight will be departing from Newfoundland to Ontario Tuesday. Teams will consist of approximately 10 personnel each. The CAF will also begin flying in civilian medical staff offered by other provinces, CBC News has learned.
The move comes after Ontario has made a formal request to the Canadian Armed Forces for help in dealing with a surge in critical care cases associated with COVID-19, just days after it rebuffed an offer by the federal government to send in extra personnel.
In a statement Monday, a spokesperson for Solicitor General Sylvia Jones said the province has "made a request for the assistance of those identified resources, many of whom reside, for example, within the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Red Cross organizations."
"In addition to health human resources, we are requesting logistical and operational support as we seek to augment our response to COVID-19," the statement from Jones's press secretary Stephen Warner said.
Speaking to reporters, Jones said the request, made Friday, did not request a specific number of personnel.
"What we are looking for is very specialized nurses that can help out in our intensive care unit beds and medical personnel that can assist our hospitals that are seeing disturbing rises in cases of COVID-19," she said.

Avenue south residence
Although being one of the largest and most populous urban spaces in the world, London's sprawl is renowned for being punctuated by plentiful green spaces; some famous, others less so. These green spaces act as the city's lung, literally improving the environmental healthy of the city but also providing somewhere for its residents and visitors to relax, play sport and generally escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.
Whilst there are many green squares and council parks in the center of London, not to mention expanses of protected common land slightly further out, a significant proportion of this green space is locked up in what are known as the Royal Parks; parks owned by the Crown as royal hunting parks or simply as gardens for their royal palaces. These days they are protected spaces open to the public by Crown decree and managed by the Royal Parks Agency.
There are eight Royal Parks in total within London and the following tetralogy of articles provide an introduction to them all. Starting in the West and heading East
Bushy Park
Location: In the borough of Richmond in the south west of London. The park sits behind the former royal residence of Hampton Court in a bend of the River Thames, bordered to the north by Teddington Character: The second largest of the Royal Parks at 1,100 acres, it consists of a mix of formal landscaping, woodland, Avenue south residence grassland, streams and ponds, with the Water Gardens and grand Chestnut Avenue forming significant features. It is also dotted with sports pitches providing the homes of four local cricket clubs, a hockey club and a rugby club, as well as allotments and playgrounds. Attractions: Perhaps the most famous feature in the Bushy Park is the Diana Fountain at the southern end of Chestnut Avenue named with an imposing golden statue of a figure thought actually to represent Arethusa, a Greek nymph. The park is still home to plenty of wildlife including herds of red and fallow deer. History: Originally created as a deer park by Henry VIII when he took control of Hampton Court as his royal residence, the park has subsequently evolved under successive monarchs. For example Charles I added the Longford River Canal, whilst Chestnut Avenue and the Diana Fountain were later added, from designs by Sir Christopher Wren, to form a grand entrance to Hampton Court. The history of the park also saw it play host to the pre-World War II folk tradition of Chestnut Sunday which was resurrected in 1993, a World War I Canadian military hospital and Eisenhower's military camp from which he planned D-Day. Richmond Park
Location: Also to be found within the borough of Richmond in the south west of London. The park occupies an expanse of land just south of the River Thames in between the town of Richmond itself, neighbouring Kingston Upon Thames to the South and Wimbledon and Wimbledon Common to the West. Character: The largest of Royal Parks at 2,500 acres, it is the largest park in London, the second largest walled park in the UK and is over twice the size of its nearest neighbour at Bushy. The park is heavily protected as a designated National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest with an informal landscape of grassland and woodland covering gentle hills and surrounding ponds at its centre. It has the sense of a country park but within the boundaries of London. More formal woodland can be found in the Isabella Plantation Attractions: Richmond Park is particularly noted for its wildlife including the famous Fallow and Red deer and even the more recent colonising Parakeets. It is criss-crossed with bridleways and cycle paths for those looking to explore the area on horse back or by pedal power. The park also contains a number of structures including the historic childhood home of Bertrand Russell, Pembroke Lodge, now a restaurant but complete with its own public gardens. Many will visit the park however for its opens spaces and it views of central London, the best of which perhaps can be glimpsed from King Henry's Mound within the gardens of Pembroke Lodge

Snowbirds fly over Nova Scotia to mark naval helicopter crash, mass shooting
The Snowbirds aerobatics team flew over Nova Scotia communities Sunday in remembrance of the victims of a mass shooting and six deaths in last week's navy helicopter crash.
On a warm, clear day over the East Coast province, the red, white and blue Tutor jets performed above the 12 Wing Shearwater air base in Halifax, home to the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter that crashed off Greece.
Six members of the Canadian Forces died Wednesday in the incident, which is now under investigation by the military.
The loss of life came in the wake of a mass shooting by a gunman, who took 22 lives on April 18 and 19, beginning in the coastal community of Portapique, where 13 people died.
The nine-plane formation began at the Greenwood air base, travelled over the communities affected by the mass shooting, flew over Shearwater and downtown Halifax and then returned to the base during the afternoon.
The day began with performances over Saint John, N.B., Fredericton and Kentville, N.S.
Capt. Joel Wilson, a 27-year-old pilot participating in the flights, said in a telephone interview from Greenwood, N.S., that the team hoped to provide relief and inspiration for Nova Scotians at a difficult time.
"The first word that comes to my mind is that I'm honoured," said the captain, who is in his first year in the unit.
"It's been tragedy after tragedy for Nova Scotia."
"It's one little thing we can do during what's been a terrible month for the province as a whole."
The aerobatics team planned to fly in its usual diamond shape over most areas.
However, Wilson said the team planned to fly a special pattern over Shearwater in honour of the air crew and the Royal Canadian Navy personnel lost in the Cyclone crash.
He described it as the "missing man" manoeuvre, where one of the jets flies off the formation to symbolize personnel who have died in the course of duty.
The native of Brantford, Ont., said there are members of his unit who have connections to the Canadian Forces members who died, giving the flyover added meaning to the pilots and the technicians.
The performance is also part of a cross-country tour which the military says aims to boost morale as the country continues to struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wilson said the unit encouraged the public to maintain social distancing while observing the planes, even as municipal parks in Halifax were reopened to the public after weeks of lockdown.
"We're at about 1,000 feet, which can be viewable from a further distance than usual," he said.
Exact details on when and where the Snowbirds will next perform will be posted online, but it's expected they'll focus on flyovers over hospitals and neighbourhoods.
Some Canadians took to social media last week to ask whether the flyovers are necessary, given many people are continuing to struggle and die from COVID-19.
Caryma Sa'd, a Toronto lawyer, wrote: "Is it too late to call off the whole Snowbirds thing? With many people cooped up and sheltering in place, the sound of military jets overhead will be anything but comforting."
That was similar to criticisms of the U.S. military's decision to deploy its Blue Angels and Thunderbirds teams.
"We would be flying regardless," the Snowbirds wrote on their official Twitter account last week in response to the various concerns.
"Now we're just spreading the love (from a distance of course) instead of saying hello to the same farmers around Moose Jaw."
The Snowbirds initially paused their training in March because of COVID-19 and delayed the start of their flying season, which was to begin in June.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published May 3, 2020.

Analysis of X: Uncanny X-Men #159 “Night Screams!”
Happy Halloween! For our Halloween special, I take my first dive into Claremont’s classic X-Men Run proper, as Claremont’s future New Mutants partner Bill Sienkiewicz drops by just in time for the X-Men to battle Dracula for the soul of Storm! Get your stakes ready and join me after the cut.
Welcome everyone to my special Halloween Edition of Analysis of X. I love this holliday: Scary movies, adorable children in costume, more sugar than I probably need… it’s the best. And it’s on this sacred day I’ve decided to take a second look at one of my faviorite X-Men stories and see if it still holds up to me the second time around. I first heard about this story in the back of Wizard Magzine in this old beatup issue I got from my brother, and was blown away by the descrption of an event we’ll get to towards the end. When I finally read the issue years later thanks to an issue of Classic X-Men, it exceded my expectations, and hence here I am to see if it still holds up. And since the few bits of exposition needed can just be done as we go, let’s sink our teeth into “Night Screams”
We open on the Uncanny, the powerful, the misunderstood, the brave X-Men!... barging into someone’s apartment and being confused by the occupant. Naturally both parties are confused: The young lady because it’s her damn apartment and suddenly a blue elf, a smelly hairy Canadian, a metallic Russian, an African goddess and a masked teenager come rushing into her place. The X-Men are confused because this apartment belongs to their friend Misty Knight. Those of you who watched Netflix’s excellent Luke Cage series probably remember her from that. In the comics she’s not far off from where she ended up by the end of the Netflix/MCU partnership: a private eye who used to be a cop and has a robot arm, in the comics provided by Tony Stark because back in the 70’s and 80’s tony would make some sorta gadget for anyone who pulled a dump truck of money up to his house. As I mentioned in Excalibur, Chris Claremont never really forgot any character he ever had anything to do with, and since she was a major supporting character during his run on iron fist along with her partner in asskicking Colieen Wing, who you may remember as the best part of Iron Fist’s own Netflix series, he had the two pop up in his X-Men run during a time when they thought the professor and jean were dead, because no one bothered to pick up a fucking phone. As such Misty had apparently offered her place to the X-Men any time they were in the city proper… but herself didn’t pick up the damn phone and tell her in the past few months she got a roommate, so said roommate is understandably pissed off to find a bunch of strangers in her place.
As the above should make obvious, the young lady is Harmony Young, famous model and misty’s new roommate. At this time Mary Jo Duffy had taken over Luke Cage, at the time Power Man,’s book and, in an attempt to keep the book from being canceled, brought Iron Fist in as a second protagonist and made the book into a buddy picture with the two’s contrasting personalites and backgrounds playing off each other. Having read this run, it’s fantastic and well worth a read and is the backbone of later runs of Luke and Danny while creating one of the best friendships in all of Marvel. As for how the hell this relates to this story, Harmony is a supporting character from that run and at the time, Luke’s Girlfriend and thus moved in with Misty when Misty needed a roommate.
With the confusion cleared up the X-Men try to smooth things over, minus Logan who, now knowing he dosen’t have a fight on his hands is going to get drunk because logan frankly has three states: boning, drinking and killin, and Kurt’s already swooping in there, and while you’d think hitting on Luke Cage’s girlfriend would be dumb, Luke is not above a three way. I mean why do you think danny sleeps at his and jess’s place every other Sunday? Storm being the leader she is offers to leave, but Harmony, seeing three handsome young men and likely having an open relationship with Luke, decides what the hell and lets the X-Men stay. Kitty scoffs at her and.. oh god I’m going to have to talk about the Colossus and Kitty thing aren’t I? Fuck me…. Yeah for those of you who weren’t aware, Kitty had a crush on Colossus.. a grown man at the very least 6 years older than her. They eventually DID enter a relationsip, that THANK CHRIST, wasn’t sexual till Jim Shooter, in one of the few times he actually made sense as Marvel’s Editor in Chief outright told Chris to cut it out and broke the couple up himself by having Pitor fall for someone else. And while that whole romance was forced and rushed, it both ended an annoying subplot and gave us a DAMN good issue of Uncanny I’ll get to some day. We soon find out WHY the X-Men are in town in the first place:
I do like the story progression so far: it feels organic and the opening of the X-Men barging in on an apartment is a nice hook and the following pages quickly explain the situation without feeling too clunky about it. But yeah Kitty’s Parents want to see her and while as Ororo notes she dosen’t have anything to wear, Harmony being a true friend to this person she just met offers up her vast wardrobe which Kitty herself quickly gets herself a piece of. The two get dressed and head off to meet the Prydes. We then get a short scene of Cyclops, whose on vacation visitng his brother Alex alongside his space pirate dad. As you can tell i’m not really going that much into it as it’s only one page of the isssue and has nothing to do with the rest of the plot other than informing us Professor Xavier’s in a coma, which tells me why he wasn’t with the rest of the team. Back in NYC, Kurt is still flirting with Harmony when the team gets a call from Kitty... who wonders if Ororo got home okay. Kurt’s instantly put on alert because she’d told kitty she was heading straight back.. hours ago. And as we see bellow, she’s been attacked with two marks left on her neck... which can only mean one thing.. NEIL BREEN HAS KILLED AGAIN.. or you know vampires.
Storm is rushed to the hospital and Logan and PItor soon get the call thanks to Storm’s wallet to come get her. While the doctor wants to keep her overnight Storm is.. oddly calm, finding the night realixing and getting the feeling something’s watching her, but shaking it off. The fact she’s not CONCERNED about that or seems chipper after having her throat torn open just screams red flag don’t’ it? Storm returns home to rest , shooing the rest of the X-Men away and well. if you were wondering when the hell this turned into a vampire story besides the whole neck bites thing...
The scene is haunting and well done and Bill, since his last name is hard to spell and I’ve mangled enough names as is on this blog, does a fine job with it, portraying the horror of it as well as how entrhaled Ororo is well. IT’s this sort of moody atmospheric stuff that would serve him well when he became artist on New Mutants and thare’s damn good reason his run is where the book really starts to pick up steam. Kitty returns home.. and is greeted with the news Storm has turned ill. When kitty tries visting storm is afraid of the sunlight, has a mysterious scarf from an admierer with a large D on it, and flinches when Kitty’s star of david brushes up against her. Kitty, sensing the obvious heads off to do some errands. Later that night Ororo lets her her “lover” and the one behind all this...
Yup. I wasn’t lying or exaggerating in the teaser: The one behind all this is DRACULA. That Dracula, not some alien or some other vampire. The prince of Darkness himself has designs on Ororo. And if your wondering if this is just some one issue weirdness… NOPE. Around this time, Dracula had his own ongoing started in the 70’s, Tomb of Dracula and what I’ve read is excellent. As a result Dracula was a part of the Marvel Universe, had his own backstory and enimies, and fought the likes of Dr. Strange and Spider-Man and earlier this year was the center of a major plot in Jason Aaron’s Avengers run. But before he can turn her, help arrives..
IT’s kitty who got a nifty Van Helsing getup and a cross.. but in an intresting twist on the mythos the cross does nothing. But not for the by this point cliché reason of “we’re just not using that old chesnut”, no in the Marvel Universe one needs genuine faith for the religious symbols weakness to work… and as the star of david showed earlier, Kitty is Jewish .. but when Dracula tries to choke a bitch, it’s said star of David that saves her. Tragically, Storm is too brainwashed to run and leaves with Dracula, begging Kitty to forget her and leaving the poor child in tears as her surrogate older sister leaves with a monster, possibly forever and there’s nothing she can do to stop it. On a side note though nice entrance line. While it’s no “Begone monster you do not belong in this world!” it’s still pretty sweet.
The rest of the team burst in and Kitty explains what’s going on: that while she didn’t know it was DRACULA till now, she was supscious but rightly suspected the others wouldn’t belive her and Logan dosen’t, trying to write off the scarf as Harmony or Misty’s.. but Kurt shoots it down, stating that Kitty is no child and her word means as much as Logan’s own, with his own time in Bavaria telling him to not take vampires lightly.. ESPECIALLY Dracula. Even if Logan still isn’t buying it, Kitty does point out that wether she’s right or not, Ororo is too injured to leave out in the wild, let alone with some strange man who may or may not be Dracula. Given this is a superhero comic, a fight naturally breaks out, with Dracula summoning his wolves, where’d he purchase those, to fight while Kurt tries fighting the big man himself.. and quickly gets his fuzzy blue ass handed to him. Colossus and WOlverine take the wolves out and prepare for the big man himself.
As you can see Dracula is handing them their asses.. which is no surprise: not only are the X-Men two members short, and even if they weren’t Dracula would still be able to take them. It also helps ease him into this shared universe: the reason why he hasn’t been beaten for good with so many heroes out there is simple: besides having the cover of being so famous that most wouldn’t belive he’s real, he’s also really damn powerful and only one vampire hunter after him has any sort of powers, that being Blade who was introduced in Tomb of Dracula. And while he’s a vampire, he dosen’t have Drac’s broken number of extra powers.
With it now being clear given he fuck slammed Colossus that Dracula is out of their league Kurt suggests a straight up fight won’t work and they need plan B.. and with that we get the best scene in the issue, the one that made me want to read it in the first place.
Just as a recap, in a brilliant callback to a few pages ago, Wolverine tries, cleverly, to use his claws as a cross.. but as Dracula mocks him, it won’t work. Like Parappa the Rapper says you gotta belivie.. and unfortunately for Dracula, Kurt does in what is, to my suprise, the first time his religion comes up but it works well and adds a sizeable amount to his character. Sadly as fucking epic as this is, it only holds him off for a second and he soon sendds lightning after him because.. apparently he can do that now? I dunno. While this goes on Kitty runs into the castle which Dracula has morphed into his own kinda castle, and while Kitty dosen’t find dracula she does find an almost turned storm and readies a stake, though Ororo points out it won’t do much good.. and we get another powerful scene as Kitty decides she’s right.
While that goes on, the rest of the team presses on but have no more luck and soon Dracula has them beat and Storm arrives seemingly having slain kitty.. only to shed her Dracula outfit for her uniform and start kicking Dracula’s ass, kicking off an awesome fight between the two.
She ends up slamming him into a party where Drac, being a sore looser, tries to force her to submit.. but she stays her ground and he gets desperat holding a hostage to try and get her to submit
But as seen she will not and refuses to.. and Dracula admits defeat, realizing he was genuinely attracted to her and he’d have to snuff out what made her worthy of being his queen to do so. Granted he’s still a creepy mind rapist, but it’s still a nice character touch. He books it out of there, and being good at evading people as his solo would show, tells Ororo following would be a fools errand and givne how beaten down her team is , even with her back to give them the edge, he’s right. So for now he escapes, but the X-Men have one the night and Ororo is free and back to being just a mutant again and tearfully reunited with kitty at misty’s place.
With that touching scene done, our heroes runite with Harmony, with Misty and Coleen now present and celebrate their narrow victory. There’s also a quick stinger with Moira MacTaggert telling the X-Men xavier’s condition has gotten worse, but for the most part, it’s a happy ending as our heroes, however narrowly have won the day and I thankfully got this done before Halloween ended.
Final Thoughts: This issue is every bit as good the second time around, if not more so now I know who Harmony is and have read some of Dracula’s own title, though it’s not a necessity as none of the stuff from Tomb is important here, and Harmony is introduced well enough. This issue is a masterpiece, having atompsheric moody horror, the drawings well done and there’s so much I didn’t show that’s just awesome and Bill would only get better from here. The character work is also great as most of the X-Men get moments to shine. While wolverine is mostly there for his usaul schtick as is Colosus, how easily dracula manhandles them shows just how strong he is without feeling forced. But the real stars are Kurt, who gets one of his finest moments here and even after that fails still presses on anyway, Storm whose transformation is truly horrifying and whose ultimate victory is made all the sweeter and Kitty, whose at her best with: her youthful naivity matching well with her refusal to give up as she stares down both Dracula and her big sister in equal amounts. The issue is a must read for what’s left of this Halloween and every one after it and a great little done in one. Even with the btis of other storylines, it’s still easy to read and understand on it’s own and is one of the best one and done issues i’ve ever read and still holds it’s position in my eyes as one of the best X-Men stories period, taking what should be a rediculous premise and owning the hell out of it. A must read if i’ve ever read one.

The Worth family has quite a history and some rare photos of one of their members brings part of his recuperation after being wounded a Vimy Ridge into a sharper focus.

Walter Garlick Worth was part of a family that was industrious. His father, Dyson, was involved in the yarn industry, beginning at the ripe old age of 7-years old as a “bobbin boy”. He parlayed this experience to rise in the ranks of the mill manufactory until, at the age of 21, he became a superintendent of the works he was employed at. Some drive to produce led the young Dyson to move to Gothenberg, Sweden in 1893-97. In 1913, Dyson and his family emigrated to Peterborough, Ontario and partnered with Issac Bonner to create Bonner-Worth Mill from the former Penman Mills.[i]

Walter was born on June 16, 1888 at Huddersfield, England to Dyson and Emma. He emigrated with his parents to Canada and was involved in the family business as his attestation papers indicate his “trade or calling” quite specifically as a “Manufacturer Worsted yarns”. At 27-years old, and with 3 years of militia experience with the 57th Regiment, coupled with his status as a manufacturer with probable management experience, he was enlisted with the rank of lieutenant on December 9, 1916 at Peterborough, Ontario with the 93rd Battalion.

The 93rd Battalion sailed to England aboard the Empress of England on July 15, 1916 and the men of the 93rd were soon to be disappointed as they would not be serving as a unit in the line, their battalion being broken up in order to reinforce other battalions of the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
It was in this circumstance that Lieutenant Worth found himself arriving at the 18th Battalion after a short detour to the 19th Battalion. He was originally assigned to this unit but early in his service he developed renal calculi (kidney stones) and after this medical condition was resolved after attending No. 2 Red Cross Hospital Rouen, France, he was assigned to the 18th. He arrived “in the field” on October 22, 1916. Several officers of the 93rd, such as Lieutenant V.M. Eastwood[ii] would also join the Battalion.
The Battalion had left the Somme sector at this time and was engaged at the Calonne (Lens) sector until it moved to the Vimy sector in mid-February.

On April 9, 1917 Lieutenant Worth was wounded by a German bullet. He was hit in the jaw and the resulting wound that fractured his jaw, carrying away may of his teeth from both jaws. It is recorded that the shot was fired from a German sniper and the sniper was captured and was compelled to help carry Lieutenant Worth back to an aid station.[iii] He recovered after being evacuated via Field Ambulance and Casualty Clearing Station arriving at the Duchess of Westminster Hospital on April 10, 1917. He was treated at the High Street Military Hospital (2nd Western General Hospital) at Manchester starting on the 15th. He then moved onto Peak Hospital (Canadian Red Cross Special Hospital), Buxton on June 16, 1917. Staying there for one-month he was finally moved to Perkins Bull.[iv]
During his convalescence, a series of photographs were taken of Lieutenant Worth. They show Leiutenant Worth with two companions. At least one of the shots appears to be taken on a seperate day (Worth is wearing a dressing around his face) and the balance of the shots appear to show him and his compatriots out on s ride to a farm with horses, a bucolic activity compared to the experiences Worth and the other officers had in the trenches.

After his medical discharge he was attached to The Office of the High Commissioner of Canada and struck off strength due to General Demobilization on March 21, 1919. Worth was able to get a leave to Canada for one-month from April 9 to May 9, 1918 and this leave was extended May 17, the date he returned from Canada and, again, took up his duties at the High Commission.

After his demobilization he moved to Los Angeles, California with the rest of his family and worked at their firm, Worth Brothers Inc. The Bonner-Worth Mill was sold to Dominion Woolens and the family moved to California in the 1920s and established Worth Brothers Inc, one of only two mills in operation on the West coast. The firm eventually employed 150 people.

He died on July 2, 1963 and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Glendale) in California.
The photographs of the Worth family, and those particularly of Walter Garlick Worth give us a sense of place, time, and the man. The Worths were industrious and active members of the textile industry and moved to where opportunity for growth beckoned. The sons of Dyson were all involved in the textile trade, influenced by the boom in textiles from their native town of Huddersfield. Textiles were in their blood and part of their heritage. They helped establish firms that bolsteredthe economy of Peterborough and Los Angeles.
The photographs also offer a contrast from the early 20th Century to now. Industries and fashions have changed. The original Bonner-Worth firm in Peterborough, along with Dominion Woolens, no longer exists. Worth Brothers appears to have disappear, though, ironically, the address appears to be home to a business in a field related to textiles.
Contrast in time. An image of the Worth Bros. locations (left) with the current business (right) occupying the same address. Both businesses are related to textiles. Photo Credits: Worth Bros. via Don Worth by email / Google Earth screen shot.
Walter Garlick Worth contributed to two countries with his work with the textile firms the family was involved in, and he volunteered for duty when the Empire called. His service was short and his wounds terrible, but he persevered and continued his positive contribution to his family, his firm, and his adopted countries.

It Seems Like Nothing Changes
Paul Cussen
August 2018
In the last two weeks of Anglo-Welsh composer Philip Heseltine’s year long stay in Ireland, he writes ten songs which are published under the pseudonym Peter Warlock. These are considered to be among his finest work.
An t-Óglách, with the tagline ‘The Official Organ of the Irish Volunteer', often described as a successor to the Irish Volunteer, is published. It is published twice a month initially and successfully manages to remain in circulation despite numerous raids and having to operate in secret to avoid complete closure. Michael Collins, Adjutant General and Director of Organisation, is a regular contributor to the magazine.
Charlie Hurley is arrested on a charge of unlawful assembly and imprisoned in Cork Gaol. When arrested he is found to have in his possession documents relating to military installations in the Beara peninsula and a plan for destroying the police barracks in Castletownbere. On release from Cork Gaol he is rearrested, court-martialled and sentenced to five years' penal servitude at Maryborough (Portlaoise) Gaol.
John Hawkes from off-Barrack Street lodges an unsuccessful appeal with the local War Pensions Committee in Cork city, noting that he had been ‘awarded a pension of 8d. a day for 18 months final [sic] & his period expired some time ago. He states that if he could obtain a pair of spectacles, he would be employed at once as a watchmaker. He has no home and no money and will have to go to the workhouse if his appeal fails.’ Hawkes had previously served in the Royal Munster Fusiliers in France but had been discharged in April 1915, according to his mother, ‘because he got a bad cold in the trenches’ and had been declared ‘unfit for further duty’. Doctors at a hospital in Boulogne had determined that Hawkes suffered from a ‘mental deficiency’ .
Acting Major Thomas Marshal Llewellyn Fuge is mentioned in Despatches. He is mentioned in ‘Long Shadows by de Banks: the history of Cork County Cricket Club’ by Colm Murphy as a useful fast medium bowler who played for Ireland.
Stephen O’Callaghan of 39 Bandon Road completes four years on active duty with the Worcestershire Regiment and the Royal Munster Fusiliers, a recipient of the British Army Service Medal and the Victory Medal.
HMS Flying Fox takes over kite balloons and the operations are attached to the deployment of the American battleships Utah, Nevada and Oklahoma. The three battleships operate from Berehaven from August to October to protect Allied convoys from attack by the German battlecruisers.
August 1 – The first fully combined air, sea, and land military operation in history is launched as RN Fairey Campania seaplanes from HMS Nairana join Allied forces to drive Red Army forces from the mouth of the Northern Dvina river in Russia.
The French Tenth Army launch an attack and penetrate five miles into German territory in the Second Battle of the Marne.
British troops enter Vladivostok.
August 2 – Captain Georgi Chaplin stages a coup against the local Soviet government of Arkhangelsk.
Japan announces that it is deploying troops to Siberia.
The first general strike in Canada occurs in a one-day protest at the murder of Albert “Ginger” Goodwin.
August 4 – ‘Gaelic Sunday’, approximately 100,000 Gaels take part in an act of defiance against the British administration by refusing to apply for licenses to play Gaelic Games.
Noel Willman, actor and theatre director, is born in Derry.
There is a full muster of the members of the companies of the Third West Cork Brigade for the funeral of Lieutenant William Hurley (Kilbrittain Company) in Clogagh.
The Norwegian barque Remonstrant is sunk in the Atlantic Ocean 280 nautical miles (520 km) west of the Fastnet Rock. Her crew survive.
Adolf Hitler is awarded an Iron Cross first class on recommendation of his Jewish superior Lieutenant Hugo Gutmann.
August 5 – Five Zeppelins attempt to bomb London however most of the bombs fall into the North Sea due to heavy cloud cover and L20 is shot down killing all the crew.
August 7 – Florrie Burke is born. He goes on to play for Cork United, Cork Athletic, Evergreen United, Ireland and the League of Ireland XI (d. 1995).
August 8 – The first organised meeting of the I.T.G.W.U. in Mallow is held this evening in the old Town-Hall.
Battle of Amiens where Canadian and Australian troops begin a string of almost continuous victories, the 'Hundred Days Offensive', with an 8-mile push through the German front lines, the Canadians and Australians capture 12,000 German soldiers, while the British take 13,000 and the French capture another 3,000 prisoners (more enemy troops were captured in the six days from August 6 to August 12 than in the previous nine months combined). German General Erich Ludendorff later calls this the "black day of the German Army". Historian Charles Messenger refers to this date as the “day we won the war”.
August 10 – General Frederick Poole, the British commander in Archangel, is told to help the White Russians.
August 16 – Battle of Lake Baikal is fought by the Czechoslovak legion against the Red Army. Red army forces take Arkhangelsk.

August 21 – The Second Battle of the Somme begins. Corporal Thomas Hargroves, Royal Irish Regiment, 2nd Batallion, dies in action. He had come from Laois to serve in the Prison Service in Cork and enlisted for military service in early 1916. He first saw action securing positions in Dublin in 1916. His unit landed in France in August 1916. He is listed on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, (and on a memorial which disappeared from St. Peter’s Church between 2002 and 2006).
August 22 – Sergeant John Hallinon is killed in action in the Somme. He was born around 1883 in Ballincollig and was working as a bank messenger in London. His wife, Emily, unaware of the condition of life in the trenches wrote to ask for her husband's ring, wristwatch and pipes. They had one child, William.

Bob Conklin dies of gunshot wounds, sustained at the Battle of Arras. Due to the delay of mail from the Front, his family still continue to receive letters from Bob after learning of his death: “Give my love to all and don’t worry on my account”; “Well, my news is finished, so I’ll ring off. I will write mother in a few days. Love to all. Bob.”
August 30 – Czechoslovakia forms independent republic.
London Policemen go on strike after the dismissal of PC Tommy Thiel (centre in the photograph) for union membership. The strikers demand union recognition and a wage increase. Within a few hours 6,000 men throughout London are out, with more joining all the time; even the Special Branch is affected.

S02E06 “GIRL POWER” thoughts
OH man okay what an episode. I have a LOT OF THOUGHTS so I added a Read More somewhere down there for you. Once again it’s a ton of observations mixed with mental notes and a lot of half-thought theories.
- We know what the Bergsberg sign says! “Once you’re here... you’ll never want to be gone”. --> because everyone somehow finds what they need there?
- I was waiting for the scene where Friedkin finds out the Rowdy 3 are gone. It was fantastic. Lieutenant AssistEnt?! Mental note, teleportation is linked with water and an electrical surge that also manages to interrupt surveillance.
- Ken is just so freakin’ happy with this new living quarters. I wish I could go through those files he has there. Also the only bit of color in the room is in the shower - a red soap thingie and a yellow soap thingie and a blue and a red loofa. What’s going on with that? They remind me of the buttons on Vogel’s jacket.
- Nice leopard print tights, Todd. Also Todd is wearing Dirk’s glowsticks. And they’re red and blue which is a THING because a TON of things in this episode are red and blue (just like the Dengdamor sigil?).
- Pink-coated Dirk vs. Bart in blue! “Are you back to being scared of me?” sounds to me like Dirk wasn’t when he was high on a love spell. I wish we could see what went on there.
- The Mage’s little speech is super interesting and there’s lots to unpack there. The world he conquered was supposed to be different and he was supposed to lose. What changed? If it’s the boy in the murals that’s supposed to defeat the Mage every time, he’s been missing for a long time. Why are we only looking for The Boy now?
- Odd thing I noticed: the boy is dressed the same in every instance of him defeating the mage (same kind of shirt, either yellow or green, blue pants, and a crown) but his hair is a different color nearly every time. It’s black or brown in one, red in one, blond in another.
- Suzie’s “Do you think I’m gonna let other people make me feel small again?” makes me feel like something happened to turn her into the horrible person she was even before the accident. “I won’t let your negative attitude drag me down” --> okay, sounds like a good quote from a self-help book. And then boom. “I will cover myself in your blood”. 0-10 REAL FAST. Also who in the world is she channeling when her voice goes scary at the end?!
- So the project Alpha emblem on Ken’s bathrobe is yellow. Is that important? Probably not but MAYBE IT IS. His jumpsuit is blue + yellow too! (just like the Trost sigil. Coincidence?)
- When Ken says “You know I’m going to need higher clearance for that.” you can just see a plan unfolding in his mind. What are you going to do, Ken?
- THE ROWDY 3 SCENE THOUGH. There’s tons to unpack there. First of all, the cubes say ‘Canadian Made’ apparently, which means they come from (near) Bergsberg too? Which makes sense since the Kellum Knights are supplied by the Mage. Cross does some 4th wall breaking too because he points out that they’re in Canada (and parts were filmed in Canada). He also mentions that he doesn’t trust cubes because they have too many dimensions and it’s confusing. Which honestly sounds like the plot of the show at this point.
- Martin mentions he’s been around for a long time and sort of makes it sounds like it’s longer than we’d expect? I’m not sure. They are vampires, after all.
- Amanda says she’s trying to ‘go with the flow’ which is funny because she’s using water for her visions and stuff.
- Where you go, we go + the hug + everyone just doting on Vogel = what happiness is made of.
- Dirk just losing it as soon as he realizes Blackwing is in the vicinity. “You are all now actively in danger and that’s my fault.” Because they were already passively in danger just by associating with him but now that Blackwing is here..
- The information in the corner of Priest’s goggle vision thing is what looks like the CSS for a stock photo website. Just thought I’d throw that out there.
- Where does Wakti’s knowledge of punk come from? Just wondering. She knows exactly how to motivate Amanda and that’s either awesome or a little terrifying.
- The hospital is full of paintings/pictures of water. Like literally. They’re everywhere, just like in the sheriff’s department. In the intro, Mrs. Cardenas says there’s no water for miles. SO WHY. Also a ton of pamphlets that say ‘STOP’ on them in the waiting room. Nice foreshadowing. (and a blue and a pink jacket hanging from the coat rack. those colors. again.)
- “Wendimoor can’t be real. If it is, I can never be forgiven.” By who? Why?
- Kellum wanted to buy the Cardenas’ farm. Why? Is this the place where the digsite is now? What were they digging for?
- Mrs. Cardenas stabbed her husband with the scissors? But Arnold lost both his parents that night. What happened to her?
- Someone promised Arnold that he would be taken to Wendimoor, that it would a safe haven. But Arnold says Wendimoor can’t exist. At the same time, he knows how to get there. So it’s not like he can’t believe it exists but maybe it should be impossible or it’s bad that it does.
- Todd’s jacket has a blue and a pink/red stripe on it. Farah’s all in blue. Dirk’s in pink. It’s those colors again but what do they mean.
- So is Suzie’s spell straight up summoning glowing hot metal shapes?
- Where was Arnold running off to before he became a hexa-goner? Also Dirk is so caught up with Arnold’s death that he doesn’t even notice Priest arrive and Priest is doing as he’s told, which is protect the subject.
- Priest laughing while gunning down Suzie. I’m not sure if I love him for it or if I’m just extra terrified. Then he says ‘Goddammit baby, I miss(ed) Blackwing.’ I’m not sure if he says miss or missed, but I feel like it’s ‘missed’ because Priest has said before that working for Blackwing was the most fun he ever had. He is enjoying this immensely. It’s all a puzzle to him. Which makes me think he’s special in some way too. He has the air of someone who knows it’s all going to work out for him and the ease with which he takes down Farah later reminds me of Bart. My theory is that Priest is/was Project Cheron - the mythological ferryman who takes those who pay him across the river Styx into the underworld.
- I forgot that those creepy figures in Wakti’s hut are still there, listening, watching. They seemed to react when Amanda mentioned her brother.
- Wakti is using Mona to see - CONFIRMED. She calls Mona a friend, but what is Mona getting out of this?
- Panto’s talk about how Bart should forget fate, forget the universe sounds like a really bad idea to me. When Panto says that he’s fighting for a happily ever after there’s recognition in Bart’s eyes. Is she thinking of the commercial with the princess?
- I love how the Rowdies immediately notice something’s up with Amanda. Interestingly, Farson is the first to notice her and head over. He’s got the ‘notice when something’s up thing’ down fast and he was quick to notice her powers when they were in the cage and he was already hanging out with Wakti Wapnasi. What if Farson’s special too?
- The moment when Amanda tells them she needs them to see if the visions are real or a metaphor and Martin and Cross both quickly explain to Vogel & Gripps what a metaphor is. Aw man my heart. Also apparently the way to turn anything into a Rowdy outfit is to make it really dirty and add leather. Perfect.
- When Priest & Farah meet, Farah says she knows who he his. Did she find out about who Priest is when she was looking for information on Blackwing? How much does she know?
- Holy what? Priest just straight up knocks out Farah without flinching. Farah. Who injured Bart and defeated Panto Trost, greatest swordsman in Wendimoor? The only two people who were able to injure/capture Bart had a split-second showdown and Priest won. Crap.
- Dirk is so freaking terrified. What did Priest do? I’m more and more convinced that the ‘Diamond Incident’ has something to do with child Dirk.
- Toad Scott is just sitting there, listening to everything. He has been listening to every single conversation the Mage and Suzie have had this episode and he’s listening to the Mage talk to Bob. You just know someone is going to have to kiss the toad and have it turn into Scott, who just happens to know everything the Mage has done and everything he’s been plotting. Find the boy. Defeat the Mage. Because the Mage told the boy EVERYTHING.

Travel in Canada is a prize for the vaccinated and vigilant (AP) Americans wanting to experience Canada’s vibrant autumn or its winter landscapes can do so again. But getting here means jumping through hoops before you go. Those hoops? To get into Canada as a tourist you must be fully vaccinated. You must have a PCR-variety COVID test taken no more than 72 hours in advance, with results ready to present at the border if driving or at the airport of departure before you can board. You have to pre-register with the Canadian government and get a code. You must present the basics of a backup quarantine plan in advance, in case you are randomly tested again upon arrival and found to be positive. You can’t be like the man from Atlanta whom border guards were talking about when I crossed. He’d pulled up a few nights earlier, unvaccinated, no test, no pre-registration and no hope of getting into Canada, more than 16 hours from home.
COVID-19 creates dire US shortage of teachers, school staff (AP) One desperate California school district is sending flyers home in students’ lunchboxes, telling parents it’s “now hiring.” Elsewhere, principals are filling in as crossing guards, teachers are being offered signing bonuses and schools are moving back to online learning. Now that schools have welcomed students back to classrooms, they face a new challenge: a shortage of teachers and staff the likes of which some districts say they have never seen. Public schools have struggled for years with teacher shortages, particularly in math, science, special education and languages. But the coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated the problem. The stress of teaching in the COVID-19 era has triggered a spike in retirements and resignations. Schools also need to hire staffers like tutors and special aides to make up for learning losses and more teachers to run online school for those not ready to return.
Sad perspective (Vanity Fair/NextDraft) In 2020, more than 5,100 kids under 18 were shot ... and more than 1,300 died. And yet, you’ve heard less about all of those deaths combined than the killing of Gabrielle Petito. Petito was a social media star and the pieces of her case are rolling out in real time. It’s understandable why internet users became obsessed. More worrisome is the way that what’s popular on social media drives what makes headlines. Every editor knows the endless and exhaustive coverage of a single murder case, in a country where murder is the national pastime, is beyond absurd. But they just can’t stop themselves.
After fence-mending Biden-Macron call, French envoy to return to U.S. (Reuters) The U.S. and French presidents moved to mend ties on Wednesday, with France agreeing to send its ambassador back to Washington and the White House saying it had erred in cutting a deal for Australia to buy U.S. instead of French submarines without consulting Paris. In a joint statement issued after U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by telephone, the two leaders agreed to launch in-depth consultations to rebuild trust, and to meet in Europe at the end of October. The call, which was requested by Washington, was an attempt to mend fences after France accused the United States of stabbing it in the back when Australia ditched a $40-billion contract for conventional French submarines, and opted for nuclear-powered submarines to be built with U.S. and British technology instead.
Pope jokes he is ‘still alive’ despite some bishops wishing him dead (Washington Post) Pope Francis has a message for his haters: “Still alive. Even though some people wanted me dead.” Hundreds of Italians cheered for him under a Rome hospital balcony this summer. But not everybody was happy that he made it out of colon surgery, the pontiff has quipped. In his eight-year tenure, Francis’s more liberal overtones than the popes before him—from his invitation of LGBT advocates to the Vatican to his calls to welcome refugees—have stirred tensions with conservatives, and drew pushback. The post-op papal joke about bishops wishing him ill marked a frank acknowledgment of the forces within the church who are at odds with him. In answering questions about the challenges the church faces—and the divisions within—one detractor Francis mentioned was “a large Catholic television that constantly gossips” about him. Still, the pontiff said, “I just go forward without entering into their world of ideas and fantasies.”
Ambush in Ukraine (Washington Post) A top Ukrainian presidential aide, Serhiy Shefir, narrowly survived assassination when one or more attackers opened fire on his car with a barrage of at least 18 bullets Wednesday. The attack took place on a forested stretch of road near Lesnyky village, outside Kyiv, the country’s capital. President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was in New York, announced he would return to Kyiv after addressing the United Nations General Assembly later Wednesday. Police are pursuing three main lines of investigation—that Shefir was attacked because of his state duties, that it was an attempt to put pressure on the country’s top leadership or that it was an effort to destabilize the political situation in the country.
Tensions grow as US, allies deepen Indo-Pacific involvement (AP) With increasingly strong talk in support of Taiwan, a new deal to supply Australia with nuclear submarines, and the launch of a European strategy for greater engagement in the Indo-Pacific, the U.S. and its allies are becoming growingly assertive in their approach toward a rising China. China has bristled at the moves, and the growing tensions between Beijing and Washington prompted U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the weekend to implore President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to repair their “completely dysfunctional” relationship, warning they risk dividing the world. As the U.N. General Assembly opened Tuesday, both leaders chose calming language. But the underlying issues have not changed, with China building up its military outposts as it presses its maritime claims over critical sea lanes, and the U.S. and its allies growing louder in their support of Taiwan, which China claims as part of its territory, and deepening military cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
Myanmar junta abducting children of people targeted for arrest, says UN expert (Guardian) Myanmar’s military junta is systematically abducting the relatives of people it is seeking to arrest, including children as young as 20 weeks old, according the UN special rapporteur for the country. Tom Andrews told the UN Human Rights Council on Wednesday that conditions in the country had continued to deteriorate. His speech was followed by the release of a report by the UN Human Rights Office on Thursday, which warned of a “human rights catastrophe” and said abuses perpetrated since the coup may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. The military and its forces have killed more than 1,100 people, according to the UN report. It details systematic, targeted killings by the junta, including the use of semi-automatic rifles and snipers against pro-democracy protesters. Weapons designed for military confrontation, such as grenade launchers and artillery shells, have also been used against protesters and fired into residential areas, it said.
Mideast in shambles, but the world has moved on for now (AP) There was a time not long ago when uprisings and wars in the Arab world topped the agenda at the U.N. General Assembly meetings in New York. With most of those conflicts in a stalemate, the world’s focus has shifted to more daunting global challenges such as the still raging coronavirus pandemic and climate change, as well as new crises in Ethiopia’s embattled Tigray region and the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. But the situation in the Middle East has deteriorated significantly in more countries and in more ways in the last two years. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen are teetering on the brink of humanitarian catastrophe, with skyrocketing poverty and an economic implosion that threatens to throw the region into even deeper turmoil. “The region’s been crowded out by other global crises, but there’s also a sense of Western hopelessness after so many years of crisis,” said Julien Barnes-Dacey, the director of the Middle East and North Africa program at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
Cinema returns to Somalia after decades of shut-downs and strife (Reuters) Dozens of Somalis posed for selfies and chattered excitedly in rows of red, plush seats as they waited for the start of their country’s first movie screening in three decades. After the overthrow of president Siad Barre in 1991, clan-based warlords blasted each other with anti-aircraft guns and fought over the National Theatre, which they used as a base. The building was hit so many times that the roof collapsed a year into the conflict. Islamist militants who seized control in 2006 took over the building. They banned all forms of public entertainment—from concerts to football matches—that they considered sinful. African Union peacekeeping troops clawed back control of the capital in 2011 and the new Western-backed Somali government reopened the venue the following year. But just three weeks after that, a suicide bomber from the Islamist al Shabaab insurgency struck during a ceremony, killing six people. The building reopened again in 2020. Mogadishu resident Hassan Abdulahi Mohamed remembered spending half a Somali shilling on a movie ticket and one shilling on snacks at the theatre in the 1960s. “Last time I watched films in the cinema, it was 1991,” he said.
Books (Pew Research Center) A new study from Pew Research Center found 23 percent of Americans said they hadn’t read a book in whole or in part in the past year, including print, digital and audiobooks. An interesting component is that younger adults—with TikTok and their awful attention spans—were in fact considerably more likely to have read one book than older respondents, with 28 percent of those 50 and up forgoing books compared to just 19 percent of those 18 to 49. Overall, 23 percent didn’t read a book, 5 percent read one, 25 percent read two to five books, 15 percent read six to 10 books, 11 percent read 11 to 20 books and 18 percent of people said they read more than 20 books.
Shifting Sands (Hakai Magazine) Two studies looking at how islands in the Federated States of Micronesia and the Gilbert Islands have changed amid sea level rise found that among 175 sparsely populated or uninhabited islands, while lots of them have shrunk, lots of them have also expanded since the 1940s. Micronesia increased its land area by approximately 3 percent since the ‘40s and the Gilberts are 2.45 percent larger. It clarifies the simplistic idea that all islands are all just going to be sucked under amid sea level rise, which is true in many cases but misses the reality that the complex relationship between tides and waves and surges makes things more complicated to forecast than “water go up, island sinks down.”

This is a photo of part of the fake stalking order that has been forced on me on 3-15-2021 by the county courts terror cell. When I say the “county courts terror cell” what I mean by that is the courthouse was attacked at some point in the past, about twenty-three years ago is my estimate. The court offices and personnel all were killed, or taken captive at that time. The staff, judges, bailiffs, county tax assessors office, county forestry, county comptroller, county clerk, and other county offices that reside within the Josephine County Courthouse were also all taken over at that time, and, the Grants Pass Police Department is HQ’d there, and the Josephine County Sheriff was also HQ’d at the courthouse, but the sheriff’s office has since moved to F Street behind the Walmart. All of those county offices have been under control and occupation of the Canadian terror army since that time. There are also Screen Actor Guild terror commanders there at the courthouse playing key roles as judges and bailiffs and stenographers.
The details laid out here are such that it has become a crime for me to be on my own property. The details spelled out there are such that if I am seen walking on my driveway, or, if I am seen at my mailbox to get my mail, then, the plaintiff of the stalking charge can and will call the sheriff to arrest me for doing those activities.
I am also told that I must have a mental evaluation, however, although the judge verbally said I must go to a place called “Options of Southern Oregon“, the stalking order does not specify any particular mental evaluation service provider, nor does the order specify a time frame for such mental evaluation to take place, or does the stalking order specify who is to pay for such an evaluation.
The circumstances are such that I must remain out of visible range of a new neighbor to the neighborhood who apparently moved to Jackpine in the month of February 2021 at some point, a neighbor that I have only seen on a TV screen in a courtroom. I don’t even know what the person looks like enough to know if that person is the one I am supposed to avoid. That, and the plaintiff introduced a female at the court hearing who was also presented on the TV screen, one that is not mentioned in the stalking petition and I don‘t know her name.
The name of the petitioning plaintiff is questionable, as I recognize that same name as someone who did some work at my home many years ago and subsequently robbed me of personal items.
For now, I am unable to do any walking, the leg poisoning injuries are extremely confining on their own, the pain associated with walking has prevented me from going very far on foot, and when I did make attempts to check my mail this past ten few weeks, there has been always someone there ready to try to run me over or shoot me with a cross-bow.
I remain optimistic that the wound will heal enough that I can walk again without agony, but my optimism is waning at best.
The order includes items number 1 - 6 are checked, and items 8 and 17 are checked, and those are the items which I am bound to and subject to. I am under the impression that once a stalking order becomes a final order such as this one is, there is no way to reverse the order, it is a lifetime order, one without possibility of appeal.
I chose to share this online because of the place called “Options of Southern Oregon“ was specified at the hearing but details on the order are vague about that. It’s vague by design.
There are two places in Josephine county that are county service providers that deal with mental illness, one is Options of Southern Oregon, and the other is called Crisis Resolution Center. I have been ordered to go to both places in the past, and what I learned there at both of those places, is that they are there for the purpose of eliminating people who cause problems for the courts, that is to say that persons who have knowledge of the level of corruption at the courthouse such that the knowledge is beyond corruption and is indeed knowledge that all of the county services and more have all been taken over by the Canadian terror army and the county facilities are manned with Screen Actor Guild actors who’s job is to create a false reality by making illusion that there never was a terror takeover at the county offices.
That is what Options is there for, among other things such as a profit center where county funds are laundered, channeled, used for advancing terrorism.
Crisis Resolution Center (C.R.C.) is more sinister than is Options of Southern Oregon, CRC is part of Asante but is also part of Josephine County Services. Crisis Resolution Center is associated to “Partner”, “Companion“, “Side Kick” production at a place called “The Pleasure Dome” and perhaps other such underground surgery centers where kidnapped US Citizens are subject to cruel and horrifying experimental surgeries such that many of the victims don‘t resemble human beings after the five year transformation procedures are completed. Once completed, the victims are called “Partners” and other names, are kept as pets by SAG members, and some are also used as specially trained disposable terror soldiers by the terror army, those victims who become terror soldiers are often the surgical experimental specimens that did not work as planned during the five year transformation period.
Many of the victims are US Military service men and service women taken as experimental surgical specimens. Oregon Health Science University where the Veteran‘s Administration Hospital is, is another place, below ground nine floors, where experimental surgeries are performed on kidnapped US citizens and military. Doenrbecker Children’s Hospital and Shriner’s Children’s Hospital is also on the same campus at OHSU, and I suspect those places are used for selecting experimental surgery specimens also.
I already survived Options of Southern Oregon at least once, the assassin who attacked me there wound up going over a second floor railing, and fell into the lobby below as I was being interviewed by a “Mental Evaluator”. There are never any official reports such as these, that’s because the local authorities who would normally make such official reports of someone who fell over a railing, are all part of the terror army. I have seen a large jet airplane crash at Medford airport and destroy the runway, but no official report was made public.
At Crisis Resolution Center, they are people who devise the medieval killing contraptions that I have already described in great detail on this account, I also survived CRC, was shot at inside while being interviewed for mental evaluation. These evaluations are all generated as a result of having knowledge of terror take over and reporting what I know in ways I am able to, the reports made are such that they include the people who send me to the evaluation, which in reality is a take-out center where people like me are killed regularly, until there are no more to kill. That is the condition of Josephine county ... there are no US Citizens left alive, I am the last one.
Please send help.
Please send US Military to Josephine County Oregon.
Please send medical services.
Bring your own hospital.
In media, and in person, the term: “Mental Illness” should first be translated as: “Someone who knows too much about the terror takeover of USA”.
When you read a news story on Twitter, or in a news paper, or hear a news story on TV or radio where the words: “Mental Illness” is part of the story, what you are hearing or reading is one terror commander operative telling other terror commander operatives about a situation where someone exposed knowledge of terror take over details. From those kinds of “Mental Illness” stories, plans are made to do “Damage Control” and elimination of the persons who know too much about terror take over details, and revealed that knowledge to others.

5:48 pm:
The horrible poison Corona Attack COVID Rash:
(There is no corona virus, I was attacked by someone who stabbed me with a syringe filled with poisons, that was done to get me to go to the hospital, where I would be killed and replaced had I gone to the hospital. They do not treat US Citizens at the hospital for medical conditions any more, US Citizens are killed at hospitals while the Canadian terror army and their Screen Actor Guild commanders get the very best medical treatment there is at the same hospitals.
The photo above shows not much improvement from yesterday, however, it shows a great deal of improvement since the day before, the difference is that I discontinued using the Equate brand Anesthetic and Pain Relieving Ointment (Walmart generic neo-sporin), and things began to improve withing 24 hours.
The photo above shows that my foot continues to turn blue, and is painful.
Side view inside right shin is where the most poison is still beneath the skin. Those red areas I suspect are tissue that is saturated with some kind of poison, I suspect the poison was automotive battery acid injected into my shin while I was sleeping in my home.
The outside of the right leg, I am a Smurf.
This is the other leg. That rash only began to appear about ten days ago. There was absolutely nothing but good healthy clear skin there until recently. That rash does not look or feel like any of the symptoms I was having on the right leg before or after the attack with poisons. I have no explanation, nor do I have a guess about what is happening on the left shin.
====================================
6:07 pm:
This is what is happening in USA and other parts of the world:
news media networks under direction of Screen Actor Guild are advancing a global bullshit campaign about a mysterious virus that they called the Corona Virus.
The SAG Media all work for Britain government at I O Downing Street, and House of Lords. The Vatican plays a key role, by controlling the vast Christian population of the world, and the Christians are still doing “The Crusades” as they always have done for taking over entire continents, and changing the entire populations of global communities of indigenous peoples.
Over course of many decades, all of the hospitals and medical providers were taken by force. The terror army is in control at the hospitals and clinics.
The people who do the actual physical attack in USA, are from Canada, most came from Quebec. The Screen Actor Guild, in league with Britain, who owns all of Canada, was given the specially trained terror army to command with use of airwaves of broadcast media, to send marching orders coded withing mainstream news presentations to advance the Canadian terror army, that began in 1971 in Los Angeles California.
There are other means for the marching orders to reach the Canadian terror army, study this account to learn.
Over time, the medical professions and facilities were taken over by SAG and the terror army they command.
We are seeing now and over the past year why the hospitals and medical providers were all hijacked. The reason is to have the terror army create injury and perceived sickness in such a way that the citizens will seek medical help. Once the citizens are at the facility for medical treatment, they are killed and replaced with an imposter from Canada, one who will vote as they are instructed to vote.
There has already been so much killing and replacing of US Citizens that the SAG has managed to take over the US Government for rolling out the final stage of the global domination crusades, the Corona Virus, a systematic global depopulation and Christian Global Domination effort, that once is completed, will never again return to a time of free people on earth.
There will be “The Master Race”, Screen Actor Guild members and British leadership, and there will be slaves to serve their needs. Population numbers will be controlled, and there will be no people who are not either slaves or the SAG that is served by them.
All of those news stories about the “Vaccine” in reality are stories about the poison injections that work to get the masses to go to a hospital for treatment. I suspect that one of the so called Vaccines is really an injection of battery acid like happened to me.
If I go to the hospital, they will first do a lot of testing, a lot of procedures, and they will bill insurance, make a profit, and I will be killed ten different ways as the profits are made.
A imposter look-a-like will come out of the hospital as cast into playing my role in real life by Nancy Sinatra, President of SAG.

9:39 pm:
Local Conditions:
I don‘t have much to say about the usual things I might observe in the neighborhood on a short walk to the mail, because I am unable to physically walk that far as of yesterday. Before yesterday, I was willing to force myself to continue to walk despite the severity of the leg pain, however, the terror soldiers in the neighborhood prevented me from going farther than my driveway gate. Today I tried to take a walk to the mailbox about an hour ago and could not continue another step, had to turn around and come back to the house as the pain is changing to a different kind of pain. The pain is in my knee now, is not something I have ever felt before, is a completely new flavor of pain, comes with instability, wobbly step.
Today, throughout the day, some of the things that happened are:
I noticed one terror airforce airplane at about somewhere between 11:00 am. and 1:00 pm.
Last night I noticed that someone had torn the tarp that I have covering my truck and I went to reposition the tarp last night, but it was too torn, would not cover the leaky area, so I left it there on top of the cab, just sort of half-ass folded. I remember saying out loud “Tomorrow I will come out here and someone will have hung the tarp over the side mirror, I guarantee it” ... tonight I went outside and the tarp was hanging from the side mirror. The significance is that the tarp draped from the side mirror makes it appear as though there is someone standing there by the truck door wearing a hoodie, and that is why I mentioned it to no one last night. It’s that the local terrorists are somewhat predictable, they take oportunity like that to scare someone. The tarp looked a lot like someone there by the truck door, as I thought it would last night. Someone from Lithia Dodge Dealer on 7th Street in Grants Pass comes to try to steal my truck at least four times per year, and when they do, they use Three Boys Towing to bring a flat bed car carrier along with them for taking the truck, and when that happens, I can sometimes hear the conversation they have while snooping around the truck with the tarp over it, they always are anxious to see inside the truck, they want to take the tarp off of it, and sometimes the thief/terror soldiers of Lithia Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Plymouth argue about taking the tarp off of the truck while they are deciding if it’s a good time to steal the truck or not.
Last night, I knew the Monroe terror cell would report to Lithia Dodge or to Three Boys Towing that “The tarp is off of the truck at StoneMan’s House”. (that is the extent to how closely the terror army reps at Monroe’s watch and report conditions at my house for attacking me.
Today, at about noon, I heard someone outside close by my dining room window, it was the sound of a chainsaw running for only about one second, as if someone was on my porch, started up a chainsaw, revved it up to maximum, then shut off the chainsaw. When I looked outside, there was no one there that I could see out of the window. I chose not to open the front door at that time to look closer.
Later in the day, as I was taking the photos of my leg, someone at Strong’s terrpr cell started up a four-stroke offroad motorcycle and began to ride that around in circles at Strong’s, it was a red colored motorcycle, and the person only made two laps around as far as I could see, then the motorcycle was no longer visible or audible for the rest of the day. The motorcycle engine started as I took a photo of my leg, it was as if the photo button is what started the motorcycle. Yesterday, as I was taking the same kind of photos, a gun shot was fired at the instant I clicked the photo button, as if the photo button is the thing that made the gun shot sound happen at Strong’s terror cell. The terror bastards can see, live, in real time, everything that I am pointing the camera at, so, I suspect they were watching the software they use for that, and maybe have a “Midi” sort of arrangement that activates sounds over there, when I push buttons on my phone. I have suspected that for a long time, as those kinds of coincidental sounds happen often when I push buttons on my phone. It works like an alarm system... if I push a button, that means I am going to make a phone call, and the terror bastards absolutely will not allow me to make any phone calls. Such an arrangement that makes an alarm go off when I push a button on my phone is exactly the kind of thing that could be how the bastards know when I use the phone to make a call, and that is how they would know when to make arrangements to re-route the call to a specified call center where other people than the ones I want to speak with are already practiced and prepared to say their lines and do an act for fooling the US national security personnel who are also monitoring my calls. The security people continue to trust the local authorities, so, they insist on being fooled all of the time, and simply demand that they will continue to forever be fooled by the local authorities that they continue to trust.
An incoming call came to my phone today at a 11:47 am. from 541-406-3004, I did not answer, I don’t know who it was, I do know it was a terror cell doing some kind of terror scenario, as only terror cells can reach my phone, and I can only reach terror occupied phone numbers if I try to make a call. There was no message from the incoming call, and it’s possible that other people with Stingray surveillance or Kingfish units answered the call and spoke to someone who called my phone number, which I suspect is the case for most of the incoming phone calls that come to my phone.
I didn‘t go outside or open the front door today except for taking some pictures on the front porch and trying to take a walk a little while ago. It was quiet for the most part, if not for that red motorcycle, that airplane, my phone ring, that chainsaw on my front porch, and some geese, I would not have heard any sounds today at all.
There are a lot of lights on at Chartrand’s Unit B, where the US national security are often lured to go when the come to investigate the things I am trying to get help for, but the national security keep trusting the local authorities, and they are the ones who send the nsa to the wrong places, intentionally and for the kill, by court order.

A brief summary of touring Europe in times of the pandemic
I made it. I didn't seriously believe it could work even halfway through. Too predictable were cancellations, in fact the majority of shows towards mid-autumn have been pretty much in question. I knew then and I'm still aware that touring amidst a pandemic is most certainly not among the most sensible things one should do. A lot of, if not most of my fellow touring artist friends decided for good reason to stay home. I do respect this and I absolutely understand it too. I've been thinking a lot about things like responsibility before setting out. About the dangers for me, audiences and promoters too. There were difficulties likely to face especially with crossing borders. Too many borders to make it a task realistically to be mastered. I think I wrote in here before what it means to me to play shows. It's not only a job to make a living, this is an important part of it, sure, but an equally important thing to me is telling stories, singing my songs and — this might sound a bit mad — making people feel something, change something in their hearts, their minds. And it keeps me from going mad. Something I have to admit didn't work particularly well during the time of the first, strict lockdown in spring when there was no chance to play a concert. I've been touring a lot over the past years. I think it's safe to say an average of 150 shows a year. I wouldn't have done that without serious reasons. If a routine like this comes to an immediate halt this feels like I imagine it must feel like stopping a vehicle going 300 KMH down to zero in a split second. It has a strong physical effect. Or at least it had on me. I felt mentally and physically terrible in any imaginable way. Never thought it could be like that, never thought I'd need it that much. By June/July I more or less decided for myself I'd bloody do that tour if there'd be the smallest chance it could work. Even if it was for just half of the shows. I just don't want to fall into that big black hole again. Everybody has to decide this for him or herself, I was to at least give it a try. If things went pear-shaped I'd have to deal with it. If I was to end up in hospital — not good but damn, you can't escape your destiny anyway. It doesn't make a big difference whether you pick up your infection in a supermarket, a tram or a concert. Or a hospital. I'm not ignoring the virus, I'm not one of them twats to deny it. I'm afraid of it, like a lot of other people are, and I was worried throughout the whole journey. At the same time it was the most intense thing I experienced in terms of touring. Been asking myself after every show if this had been the last one. Last on this tour. Or the very last one. But believe me, I'm more than glad I decided to do it. This will remain one of the things I'll always remember. Halle in Germany had been cancelled. A lovely little venue there and right on my way to Warsaw. Had to change plans which later turned out to be what I was quite occupied with all along the way. Left a day later than planned and booked a cheap room for a night in Görlitz, a small-town bordering Poland thus cutting short the good nine hours drive to Warsaw to bearable driving stints. As also the show in Biala Podlaska wasn't possible due to the town being in a yellow zone I stayed in Warsaw for three days. As I had been a bit disappointed about the Polish capital on my last year's tour this was a chance to possibly discover it's hidden beauty. And guess what — it was worthwhile. 15/09/20 GER-Halle, Cafe Ludwig CANCELED/POSTPONED 17/09/20 PL-Warsaw, La Boheme 18/09/20 PL-Biala Podlaska CANCELED/POSTPONED 19/09/20 PL-Warsaw, Ada Pulawska 20/09/20 PL-Krakow CANCELED/POSTPONED When the Krakow show turned out to also not happening — this one not due to Covid — it was an easy decision to move on to Wroclaw. I fell in love with the city when I played there last year. It's among the nicest, most interesting places in Europe. Three nights there I reckoned would get me enough rest for the long distance rides coming. This is talking European long distance. Not Canadian... But things started to pick up speed once I was there. Received a message from Jozef, the promoter in Trnava, Slovakia, to double-check if my border crossing are going to work out as there are new regulations in Slovakia. By that time I still had a show booked in Prague on Friday, 25th September. For several reasons that particular one meant a lot to me. But: Slovakia decided to declare Czech Republic a risk area. This meant once I was in Czech Republic for the Prague show I'd have had to quarantine after re-entering Slovakia. That would have meant cancelling my concert in Trnava, Slovakia. One of the places that confirmed the date very early this year to make sure I'd be really coming. A good place run by a dear friend. No way to not play it. Well, that was the situation on 21st September. So with a heavy heart I cancelled Prague to make sure I could make it to Trnava. Thanks to my mate Dasa Fon Flasa I got a replacement show for 25th in Banska Bystrica. They added me to the line-up. Two death-trash-metal-whatever-core bands plus me. I'm fine with shows like that, or like Dasa says, “at the end of the day we're all punk rockers, aren't we?“. Few hours later both bands cancelled. Alright, so then it's just me. Another couple of hours later the Trnava show had to be cancelled. The town became a red alert zone in Slovakia. Even though it was already set to a private event it became impossible to do it. 22/09/20 PL-Wroclaw, Piesniarze 23/09/20 SK-Bratislava, Cyclo Kuchyna 24/09/20 SK-Zilina, Hajovna 25/09/20 CZ-Prague, Proti Proudu CANCELED/POSTPONED 25/09/20 SK-Banska Bystrica, Bosorka At the Banska Bystrica gig, which was possibly the nicest I played in this town so far, I met Miro. He surprised me a lot with telling me he came to see the show because of particular songs. “Lily Of The West“ was one, the others I don't remember. Doesn't happen too often. After the show he asked me about my plans for the next days. Nothing special actually. Saturday show cancelled, so probably trying to find a place to stay. That's how I got into the wooded hills near Zvolen. Miro and his family living there middle of nowhere in an old farmhouse, self-sufficient, mostly cut off from system and society. He asked me whether I'd be up for playing a house show for him and his family. I did it. It was one of the most rewarding and intense things in a long time. Maybe some day I'll write more about it. Maybe. 26/09/20 SK-Trnava, Archa CANCELED/POSTPONED 26/09/20 SK- somewhere Hangin out two days in Moravia. One night in red zone Uherske Hradiste, a second night in not so very red zone Brno (from a Czech point of view). Waiting to pick up my mate Pavel Cingl at Brno station who'll join in on violin for the Czech dates. So far my experience with all the shows is: everybody, almost everywhere is absolutely aware of the situation. No wild parties. People behave in a most responsible way. I've got a feel most European governments love to exaggerate about how devastating the situation is and point their finger first thing at all the neighbouring countries. Of course this is a big mess. And yes, no one should underestimate the threat, but being there myself I actually don't think people are not giving a fuck. 29/09/20 CZ-Brno, Jazz bar U kouřícího králíka Enjoyable show in Brno. Thanks Pavla. How come this works in Jazz venues now? That's a new thing. Word reaches me Linz in Austria and Prien in Germany are cancelled. Predictable. But France seem to still be mostly fine with the shows even though being rated a red area by the Germans. Same with Spanish Basque country, which is in fact rated a high risk area by Germany. What's that then? Dark red? Mega red? Deep purple? Either way, the cancellations will let me leave Czechia, do the mandatory covid test in Bavaria, quarantine until receiving the — ideally — negative result and move on towards France. Oh – and I urgently need a negative result as I need to see the dentists before leaving Germany. Since Zilina I've got a painful, bad cheek tooth. 30/09/20 CZ-Prague, Parukářka 01/10/20 CZ-Tabor, Tabook 9 02/10/20 CZ-Milevsko, Domeček Šrot 03/10/20 CZ-Semanovice, Nostalgicka Mys Now after five excellent shows in Czechia with Pavel on violin, highlighted by the last one in the small village of Semanovice this seems to become a race against the pandemic or rather it's side effects, the shutdowns, lockdowns and curfews Europe will have to face or already does. Sunday after our last show I met the The Spermbirds guys for a cuppa whom we shared a show with on this tour in Tabor. They're one of the most exciting groups you can currently hear in Prague but from this very Monday — that's tomorrow — there won't be shows for them over here for the next four weeks coming. And that's just the start of it as it looks like. Germany seems to be still more relaxed due to lower infection rates but that's just a matter of weeks, maybe days. No reply from Saint-Romans, my first French show. Assuming it's not going to happen. 06/10/20 AT-Linz, Kapu CANCELED/POSTPONED 07/10/20 D-Prien, Piraten Pub CANCELED/POSTPONED Test result arrives Wednesday afternoon (8th October), seeing the dentists midday 9th and leaving for Basel in the afternoon to stay over at friends making it one third of the distance down to Tarbes. Switzerland by this time still OK. At least for travelling through. The forty CHF parking ticket is a bit annoying though. My Basque friends get in touch. Two shows cancelled, but one extra booked. So we're still good here. They want to know if I'm really coming. Yes. I am. 09/10/20 F-Saint-Romans, Association le Fair'ailleurs CANCELED/POSTPONED Sunday's show in Basque country also cancelled on short notice. One of the venue guys tested positive. Shite. We're down to three now. I'm on my way, so no use in a change of plan. I knew beforehand it wasn't going to be an easy one. So — fuck it. I'm still lucky I can do what I can do best and love most. Gotta keep moving on. 10/10/20 F-Tarbes, Celtic Pub Great show. Fantastic evening. I love JL's Celtic Pub Is Not A Pub. Name as crazy as the man. I love this. Checking the latest covid restrictions in Europe. My fave website these days is https://reopen.europa.eu and the Spanish seem to let me in. So far so good. First rumours the Czech are going to close down their borders. The shit is definitely, seriously preparing to hit the fan. 11/10/20 E-Azkoitia, Matadeixe CANCELED/POSTPONED 13/10/20 F-Lartzabale, tba. CANCELED/POSTPONED 14/10/20 E-Bilbao, Bira Kultur Gunea 16/10/20 E-Ataun, Oargi 17/10/20 E-Itziar, Burugorri Gainean
Safe to say these were three fantastic shows I had the chance to share with Eneritz Furyak. A great, young Basque singer-songwriter. Two sold out, one almost. Amazing audiences. I instantly fell in love with the attitude of these people. New homeland discovered. Eneritz and her boyfriend Mono recorded/filmed my version of „And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda“ on one of the off-days, had the opportunity do a little live appearance on Basque radio and last but not least saw a fantastic concert of a Basque band in a bullring. That was a debut. Never seen a bullring in real. Impressive scenery. As for now it still looks like Toulouse is going to happen It's a bit of a drive from Hendaye to Perpignan where I'm playing next. Distance wise it doesn't make a big difference whether you go through Spain or France. As I haven't been to that north-western part of Catalonia I thought it a good idea. Beautiful landscape, book a cheap room in Lleida, spend the night, relax, just a short drive the next day. Lovely idea but I'd have better checked my favourite website. On arriving in Lleida I ask the lady at the reception where I could possibly go for dinner. Erm... nowhere. We're under lockdown here. All bars and restaurants closed, if you're lucky a coffee to go. Supermarkets are open til nine. I'm having a walk through town in search of a supermarket. This is a town under wartime conditions. That's what it feels like. In bigger squares I see big white tents, covid test centres. This, as they tell me, goes for all Catalonia. Monday morning I'm setting out for Perpignan. Almost no traffic. Passing by towns and places I learned to love over the past years. Banyoles, Girona, Figueres, Darnius... Stopping in La Jonquera to fill up the van and buy a couple of canisters of olive oil. Warm welcome in Perpignan by Lionel and Vanessa. Good friends who are going to host me until Wednesday if the Toulouse show will not be cancelled, until Thursday if necessary. Things seem to be still comparably normal down here. And yes, the show will take place. Leila's L'Escalibar. She's a great, tough, wonderful person. I'm glad this time the show can happen. Last year, touring by train, there was no way to make it here. Severe thunderstorms had literally flushed away the rail tracks then. Monday evening it doesn't look very good for Toulouse, on Tuesday we know there won't be a show in Toulouse. They closed down the city. 20/10/20 F-Perpignan, L'Escalibar 21/10/20 F-Toulouse, La Cave A Rock CANCELED/POSTPONED Leaving Perpignan after a good show on Tuesday and a pleasant off-day hanging out with my hosts and an enjoyable walk in the hills around Céret. Driving up to Saintes for the night, half the way to Rennes. En route news reaches me Chateaubriant, my Saturday show, is cancelled. By now nine major cities in France issued strict curfews for an indefinite time. This means my Lyon show in late November is cancelled as well. Brittany still mostly fine for now but time's running out there too. Still hoping for the Nantes gig to happen next Wednesday, 28th October. 23/10/20 F-Rennes, Bar La Ruche Things going wild now. The show at La Ruche is not only the last one before strict curfew rules will apply starting midnight. It's also the last ever show Aurelie will host here as she'll quit after this evening. Place is packed, people go nuts and so is Aurelie. A fantastic evening and a last goodbye to Bar La Ruche. As the Saturday show is cancelled I gladly accept my friend Francois' offer to come to Avranches, Normandy to spend the night and do a house show at his place early Sunday evening. 24/10/20 F-Chateaubriant, La Charrue CANCELED/POSTPONED By Sunday morning it becomes a fact that Nantes is also cancelled. I get in touch with Meghane in Besancon to let her know I can't play the Friday show at Les Passagers du Zinc. No point in hangin out in France for a whole week. Only option would be to reschedule the gig to Wednesday. Makes sense as Besancon is right on my way back to Germany. Let's do it she writes and I love her for this. 25/10/20 F-Avranches, House Show Leaving for Paris to spend two days at a friends place. It's a ghost town. 28/10/20 F-Nantes, La Scene Michelet CANCELED/POSTPONED 28/10/20 F-Besancon, Les Passagers du Zinc 30/10/20 F-Besancon, Les Passagers du Zinc RESCHEDULED Now this is the final one. As it looks like for quite some time. Few days ago I read the Czech closed their borders again and I'm afraid others will consider this the ultima ratio as well. Sold out tonight. As most of you know this simply means the maximum number of people allowed by authorities due to current rules has booked seats. Doesn't mean packed. It's another last show. Last for Les Passagers du Zinc as from tomorrow on there'll be strict curfew rules in effect here. Last for me as all November shows in Europe are cancelled and the same is more than likely to happen in December.
