Ensuring Food Safety Through the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations
In today's world, food safety is a paramount concern for governments, businesses, and consumers alike. In Canada, ensuring the safety of food products is a top priority, and this responsibility falls under the purview of the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations. This comprehensive regulatory framework governs all aspects of food safety, from Food License Registration to Food Safety Canada, Food Safety Certificate Canada, and more.
The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations: An Overview
The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations is a vital piece of legislation in Canada aimed at safeguarding the nation's food supply. These regulations cover a wide range of areas, ensuring that food and beverage manufacturers, importers, and distributors adhere to stringent food safety standards. Let's delve into some of the key aspects of these regulations and how they contribute to the safety of our food supply.
Food License Registration: To operate a business in the food industry in Canada, you need to obtain a Food License Registration. This license is a critical requirement, and it ensures that businesses are accountable for the quality and safety of the food they produce, distribute, or import. Food License Registration is a clear demonstration of a commitment to food safety.
Food Safety Regulations: The core of the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations revolves around food safety. These regulations establish safe food handling, processing, and transportation requirements. They encompass everything from the cleanliness of facilities to the safe storage of food products.
Canada Food Labelling: Proper labeling of food products is essential for consumers to make informed choices. The regulations mandate clear and accurate Canada Food Labelling, ensuring that consumers have access to critical information about the products they purchase, including ingredient lists, allergen information, and nutritional content.
Food and Drug Regulations Canada: Food and Drug Regulations Canada is a comprehensive set of rules that govern the safety, efficacy, and quality of food and drug products. These regulations are an integral part of the broader framework of food safety in the country, ensuring that not only food but also pharmaceuticals and medical devices meet stringent standards.
HACCP Process: Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a systematic approach to identifying, evaluating, and controlling food safety hazards. The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations require food businesses to implement HACCP processes to identify potential risks and take preventive measures to mitigate them. This proactive approach is key to preventing foodborne illnesses and other safety issues.
Food Safety Certificate Canada: A Food Safety Certificate Canada is a mark of compliance with the regulations. It is evidence that a business has met the necessary requirements to ensure food safety, from proper handling to labeling. This certificate not only builds consumer trust but also allows businesses to expand and export their products to international markets.
Food Safety Canada: Food Safety Canada is a collective effort by government agencies, industry stakeholders, and consumers to maintain the highest standards of food safety. The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations are a cornerstone of these efforts, providing a legal framework for food safety practices across the country.
The Importance of Food Safety Regulations
The significance of robust food safety regulations cannot be overstated. Foodborne illnesses are a real and present danger, and unsafe food can severely affect public health. The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations play a crucial role in minimizing these risks and ensuring that the food we consume is safe.
For businesses in the food and beverage industry, compliance with these regulations is not just a legal requirement; it's also a matter of responsibility. Failing to adhere to these regulations can result in serious consequences, including fines, business closures, and damage to a company's reputation.
Furthermore, food safety is not limited to domestic concerns. In an increasingly globalized world, food products are frequently traded across borders. To maintain Canada's reputation for safe and high-quality food products, these regulations are essential. They ensure that Canadian food products meet international standards, allowing businesses to access international markets and enhancing the nation's global standing in the food industry.
The Role of Food License Registration
One of the first and most crucial steps for any business in the food industry is obtaining Food License Registration. This process involves submitting an application that outlines the type of food activities the business will engage in, including manufacturing, processing, importing, or exporting. The information provided in the application is critical in determining the appropriate level of oversight and regulation for the business.
Food License Registration is not a one-time process. It requires ongoing compliance with the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations. This includes maintaining records, providing access to inspectors, and ensuring that facilities and equipment meet established standards. The purpose of these ongoing requirements is to ensure that businesses maintain a consistent commitment to food safety.
Canada Food Labelling and Transparency
Accurate and clear Canada Food Labelling is a fundamental component of food safety regulations. Food labels provide consumers with vital information, allowing them to make informed choices about the products they purchase. This includes ingredient lists, nutritional information, allergen warnings, and safe handling instructions.
Proper labeling also extends to the presentation of food products. Misleading packaging or labeling can not only deceive consumers but can also have serious health consequences. Food safety regulations dictate that labels must be truthful, easy to understand, and properly placed on the product.
Food and Drug Regulations Canada
The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations is part of a broader regulatory framework that includes the Food and Drug Regulations Canada. These regulations govern not only food but also pharmaceuticals and medical devices. This comprehensive approach reflects Canada's commitment to public health and safety.
The Food and Drug Regulations Canada specify standards for product quality, efficacy, and safety. They provide the foundation for ensuring that food and drug products in Canada are of the highest quality and pose minimal risks to consumers. This comprehensive regulatory approach is crucial for maintaining public trust in the safety and efficacy of products.
HACCP Process for Preventive Control
The HACCP process is a preventive control system that focuses on identifying and mitigating potential food safety hazards. It is a proactive approach that involves identifying critical control points where hazards can be controlled, monitoring these points, and taking corrective action when necessary. This systematic approach is designed to prevent food safety issues before they occur.
Businesses in the food and beverage industry are required to implement HACCP systems as part of their compliance with the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations. This ensures that they have processes in place to monitor and address potential risks, reducing the likelihood of foodborne illnesses and other safety issues.
Food Safety Certificate Canada: A Mark of Quality
A Food Safety Certificate Canada is a testament to a business's commitment to food safety. It is issued to businesses that have demonstrated compliance with the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations. This certificate not only enhances consumer trust but also opens doors to international markets.
For businesses looking to export their food products, a Food Safety Certificate Canada is often a requirement for entry into foreign markets. It demonstrates that the products meet rigorous food safety standards, allowing Canadian businesses to compete on the global stage.
The Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations are a comprehensive framework designed to ensure the safety and quality of food products in Canada. From Food License Registration to Food Safety Certificate Canada, these regulations cover all aspects of the food and beverage industry. They provide a foundation for maintaining public trust, expanding into international markets, and, most importantly, safeguarding public health.
Food safety is a shared responsibility, and these regulations provide the necessary structure and guidance for businesses to meet their obligations. By adhering to these regulations, businesses not only ensure their success but also contribute to the overall safety of the Canadian food supply. In a world where food safety is paramount, the Safe Food for Canadians License Regulations stand as a beacon of assurance for both businesses and consumers.

Are Canada's food labeling laws really lax? @thetabirb 's mom brought us a variety of these "hot chocolates"
[Image Description: a torn and empty packet of drink mix. The packet is green, with a cartoony dancing green T-Rex. The torn top is branded "Gourmet Village", and the packet is labeled "Green Color Changing White Hot Chocolate Mix", with it repeated on the bottom in French ("Mélange Pour Chocolat Chaud Blanc Qui Devient Vert"). In the bottom corners it says in tiny letters "Artificial flavor/Aromes Artefciels". End I.D]
from the northern border but the interesting thing is, uh
[Image Description: the white back of the packet, showing the ingredients (and two seals, one declaring it gluten free and the other declaring it vegetarian). The ingredients are: sugars (sugar, corn syrup solids), modified milk ingredients (whey protein concentrate, dairy product solids), coconut oil, salt, dipotassium phosphate, mono- and diglycerides, cellulose gum, guar gum, artificial flavours, silicon dioxide, turmeric, annatto, tartrazine, Sunset Yellow FCF, Brilliant Blue FCF. Contains: Milk". Beneath that the ingredients are repeated in French. End I.D]
There's no actual chocolate in it. And not even in a white chocolate way, where there's cocoa butter but no cocoa powder and cocoa solids. There's no cocoa anything, meaning it's not chocolate. Which works for me because cocoa powder and solids give me vomiting migraines (the cocoa butter in white chocolate is fine), and it bypasses the ethics of supporting the consumption of slave-made chocolate, but. I'm baffled
In the U.S this would have to be called something like "chok'lit drink" or something. It's why we have "cheez" or "kreme", because they can't legally be called cheese or cream given their ingredients and/or formulation, or vegan foods are called "chik'n" and the like. There's even a push by the dairy industry to ban the marketing and calling of calling plant-based milk, "milk". And I know the E.U is even more anal about food designations. Theta and I were in disbelief that it didn't have any cocoa anything in it last night. Out of six different packets, only one of them had actual cocoa product in it.
(Also I drank my "hot chocolate" already, but one thing it was honest about was that it actually did turn my milk green.)

Apparently the Canada Food Inspection Agency has determined that the names on Snap, Crackle and Pop's hats constitute essential labelling and must therefore be presented in both English and French, and I kind of love that. Like, I'm not even being facetious to make a point about bureaucratic overreach – I genuinely think that's fantastic.

Blue and Canadian Jays, with some of their favorite trees. The blue jay can do an incredibly accurate imitation of a red-shouldered hawk to scare smaller birds away from food sources, and the Canada jay is super bold, and as earned the nickname “camp robber” for stealing food from humans. :-)
[ID: an illustration of a smaller grey and white Canada jay above and a blue and black-barred blue jay below, both in flight, surrounded by branches, leaves, and cones from birch, spruce, oak, fir, aspen, birch, and maple trees. These are all on a blue background with snow, and are labeled in white. End.]

For the past 100 days, Israel has been waging a genocide campaign in Gaza without any sort of reprieve from western countries. Palestinians are suffering from a human-made famine, surpassing the scale and speed of any other famine enforced in the past 75 years. Healthcare professionals are being cornered into Rafah by constant airstrikes, sniper attacks and bombardments at hospitals, forced to leave patients and medical supplies behind. Unmaned quadcopters opened fire on the maternity and ICU unities of Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital and killed 8 civilians. Yesterday, the hospital ran out of fuel and the babies in incubators might die anytime soon. Only 127 aid trucks are being allowed into Gaza of the 500 allowed before the war, under "normal" blockade conditions. The distribution of food and water is made basically impossible by the destruction of communications and the looming threat of executions against people gathered to receive it. Just today snipers killed 3 people in line to receive food in Gaza City and Israel officials have the gall to say the problem is that humanitarian organizations, whose volunteers are being executed at unprecedent rates, aren't putting in enough effort. The IDF drops leaflets telling desperate refugees to flee and then station tanks on the roads or bombs the safe zones.
Ever since I read South Africa's submission to the ICJ I can't stop thinking about how they label it as the demication of Gaza and its people. On every sphere of the government, there are statements calling for the anihilation of the people of Gaza (pages 59 to 67). The Prime Minister has directly adressed the army telling them to wipe off the amalekites (page 60), and South Africa showed tiktoks of the soldiers repeating his speech word for word before committing massacres. And yet they have the gall to come to the world and say they haven't targeted hospitals, they haven't withheld aid and that the statements are "random assertions." To prove that Netanyahu isn't a blood thirsty pig, they pasted a statement he made ONE DAY before the hearing started, which is frankly ridiculous we're supposed to believe isn't a PR stunt (page 34).
No western outlet streamed the highest stake court hearing in the 21st century, but you can rest assured they streamed Israel's pathetic defense. And Canada, Germany, the UK and the US, countries which have in no way reckoned with their own genocidal pasts, have come forward in defense of Israel like they have any moral high ground to patronize the world about genocide.
Take action, for their sake. Motaz has said "Don't call yourself a free person if you can't make changes. If you can't stop a genocide that is still ongoing". We need to fight in any way we can to stop their massacre.
Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:
Al Jazeera, Anadolu Agency, Mondoweiss
Boycott Divest Sanction Movement
Palestinian Youth Movement is organizing protests and direct action against weapons factories across the US
Mohammed El-Kurd (twitter / instagram)
Muhammad Shehada (twitter)
Motaz Azaiza (instagram) - reporting directly from Gaza.
Hind Khudary - reporting directly from Gaza. Her husband and daughter moved South to run from the tanks but she stayed behind to record the genocide. The least we can do is not let her calls fall on deaf ears.
You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. BDS explicitly targets only a few brands which have bigger impact. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting the following:
Carrefour, HP, Puma, Sabra, Sodastream, Ahava cosmetics, McDonalds, Disney and Israeli fruits and vegetables
Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)
If you can, participate in direct action or donate.
Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.
Palestinian Youth Movement is organizing direct actions to stop the shipping of wars to Israel. Follow them.
Educate yourself. Read into Palestinian history and the occupation. You can't common sense people out of decades of propaganda. If your arguments crumble when a zionist brings up the "disengagement of Gaza", you have to learn more.
Read Decolonize Palestine. They have 15 minute reads that concisely explain the occupation (and its colonial roots) and debunk popular myths, including pinkwashing.
Read on Palestine. Here's an amazing masterpost.
Verso Book Club is giving out free books on Palestine (I personally downloaded Ten Myths about Israel by Ilan Pappe. If you still believe in the two states solution, this book by an Israeli professor debunks it).
Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.
FOR PEOPLE IN THE USA: USCPR has developed this toolkit for calls, here's a document that autosends emails to your representatives and here's a toolkit by Ceasefire in Gaza NOW!
FOR PEOPLE IN EUROPE: Here's a toolkit by Voices in Europe for Peace targeting the European Parliament and one specific for almost all countries in Europe, including Germany, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Greece, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Austria, Belgium Romania and Ukraine

Now that I'm on a 5 hour train ride before my airport run I can outline a few thoughts about America I've had over the last week:
-everything is so big. Like canada far beats you guys in regards to raw land mass but there's like 12 of us up there. You guys really minmaxed how much you can fit into one place. Meanwhile you leave an urban center in canada and it's just nothing for the next half hour upon which you hit a gas station warning that the next ones not gonna be for another 2 hours so fill up now
-Ive seen more Amish people in my like 4 days in upstate NY than I have in my entire life before now
-ive also seen more confederate, trump, and general American flags in the last 4 days upstate than in my entire life before now. NYC was not that bad. Are you guys okay down here
-why do you have war vets advertised on street lamps
-why do you put your flag on EVERYTHING... im pretty sure there's a part of your constitution that says you're not supposed to do that lmao??
-i bought a big gulp with my last few USD bills yesterday. It gave me a nuclear level tummy ache but the hubris of having that much pop for 2 dollars made it worth it. I get the appeal of Big Drink now
-I was asked how I want my burger cooked when I went for a good ol' american cheeseburger. You guys are just raw dogging rare ground beef here like e coli can't touch you. There was a burger that had mozzarella sticks on it on the menu. Your frankensteinian approach to food captivates me
-i hate how you have 1 dollar bills here. That's wrong to me. 5 is the proper place for bills to start. To me. But the CAD to USD exchange rate is HEAVILY weighted in your favour so it's whatever I guess. Your grocery prices make me want to scream, cry, and throw up in that order. Canada's not much better but at least the prices have the same number on them in a comparatively worthless currency
-there is something so capitalist about this country. Every second of my day I am being blasted with ads from every flat surface. At least we don't have ad screens in our taxis???
-I bought an Arizona tea flavour we don't have in canada and upon glancing at the nutrition label it had 84% of my daily sugar intake in it. If that's what your convenience store iced tea is like I think whatever sweet tea is would just kill me
-I think the guns in Walmart are perhaps contributing to the way the tankies on this webbed site think guns are cool and not dangerous at all. My god I was uneasy seeing that shit
-i got a big box of american sugar cereal that we dont have in canada and they can pry it from my cold dead hands at the airport I'm qualified to work our TSA checkpoint and I know damn well it's allowed to go in the case of personal consumption this shit fucks so goddamn hard

[ID: A greyish brown stew presented alongside flatbread, red pepper paste, green peppers, and carrot sticks. End ID]
سماقية / Summagiyya (Gazan stew with chard, chickpea, sumac, and 'lamb')
Summagiyya (سُمَّاقِيَّة; also translitered "sumagiyya", "sumaghiyyeh" or "sumaqiyya") is one of the signature dishes of the Gaza strip, in particular Gaza City. It consists of lamb, chard, and chickpeas in a sumac-infused broth; savor and zest is added by a dagga of dill seeds, garlic, and peppers, and nutty depth by a generous drizzle of red tahina. The resulting stew is thick, earthy, and slodgily grey (due to the green chard and red sumac)—it also has the characteristic sourness of much Gazan cuisine.
Summagiyya is most often prepared during holidays, especially Eid al-Fitr; it's an excellent make-ahead dish for these occasions, since it's even better once its flavors have had time to meld and mellow overnight. It is served cold alongside fresh vegetables, and eaten by using flatbread to scoop up each bite. This recipe provides a spiced seitan recipe to replace the lamb, but you may also use any lamb or beef substitute of your choice.
Today, summagiyya is often prepared with Israeli white tahina, as decades of punitive import laws, taxes, and restrictions have enforced Palestine's status as a consumer, rather than an producer, of food products. Israeli tariffs on, and confiscations of, Palestinian goods have forced those tahina factories that survived to import sesame seeds rather than using locally grown crops, even as they export the best of their product to Israel. The dubbing of foods such as tahina and hummus as culturally "Israeli" cuisine works to hide this exploitative relationship, and cement an Israeli national identity through the subsuming and erasure of Palestinian existence. It is for this reason that Emad Moussa writes that Palestinian cuisine has a role in "protecting against a people's very extinction."
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has put out an urgent call for donations to provide medical supplies to Palestinian hospitals when supply lines reopen. Also contact your representatives in the USA, UK, and Canada.
Ingredients:
For the soup:
500g (2 large bunches) chard (شلق), diced
80g Levantine sumac berries (Rhus coriaria)
1/2 cup soaked and boiled chickpeas, mostly cooked (40g dry / scant 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup red tahina
1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
1 large yellow onion
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
2 cardamom pods (optional)
2 allspice berries (optional)
More olive oil, to fry
Sumac berries can be found in the spice section of a halal grocery store. If you're unable to locate whole berries, pre-ground will do.
For the dagga:
1 1/2 Tbsp dill seeds
5 cloves garlic
1/2 green cubanelle pepper
2-3 dried red chilis (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cumin
Dill seeds may be found at a halal, south Asian, or speciality European grocery store. They are commonly used in Indian food and as a pickling spice. At a south Asian grocery store they may be labelled soyo, suva, shepu, or savaa.
For the lamb:
1 cup (120g) vital wheat gluten, aka gluten flour
1/2 Tbsp ground sumac
1/2 tsp ground caraway
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Palestinian 7-spice
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground aniseed
1/2 tsp turnermic
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp miso paste
2 cloves garlic, grated
2 tsp pomegranate molasses
1 Tbsp white or red tahina
About 1/2 cup vegetarian 'beef' stock from concentrate, or vegetable stock
Pomegranate molasses is simply pomegranate juice that has been reduced to a thick consistency. It may be found in the sauces section of a halal grocery store.
Instructions:
For the soup:
1. Soak dried chickpeas in cool water overnight, or in just-boiled water for an hour. Drain and re-cover with water, and boil for 30-45 minutes, until almost fully cooked. Drain and set aside.
2. Simmer sumac seeds in enough water to cover by a couple inches for about an hour, until the water is dark red. Blend the seeds and water together, then strain the mixture through a cheesecloth.
If you're using ground sumac, skip the blending step. Use a cheesecloth or very fine metal sieve (such as one intended for brewing tea) to remove the ground spice from the water.
3. Whisk the flour into the sumac-infused water.
For the lamb:
1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add wet ingredients other than stock and stir briefly. Add enough stock to produce a soft, smooth dough.
2. Knead by hand on a clean surface, or put in a stand mixer with paddle attachment on medium-low, for about 5 minutes. You should see stringy strands begin to form in the dough.
3. Allow to rest, covered, for 5-10 minutes to encourage gluten formation. Knead for another 3 minutes. Do not over-knead.
4. Tear the dough into bite-sized pieces.
Stringy seitan being pulled apart into pieces.
You may also shape the dough into a slab and cube it with a sharp knife—the lamb or beef used in summagiyya is usually cubed—but I prefer the texture of torn seitan to sliced.
5. Steam the seitan pieces for 10 minutes in a bamboo steamer or using a metal steamer basket. Place the bamboo steamer in the bottom of a wok and cover its base by about 1/2" (1 cm), then raise the heat to boil the water; lower the heat to keep the water at a simmer. If using a steamer basket, place it over the opening of a pot containing a couple inches of water and bring it to a simmer. Start the timer when the water begins simmering.
6. Heat olive oil on medium-high and sear the steamed seitan pieces, turning as necessary, until deeply browned on all sides. Set aside.
Fried seitan pieces.
You can save a step here by searing the raw seitan, then returning it to the pot after you've fried the onions to simmer it rather than steaming. I found that this produced a mushier texture.
For the dagga (دقة):
1. Grind cumin and black pepper thoroughly in a mortar and pestle, then add dried red pepper and dill seed and crush coarsely. Add green sweet pepper and garlic and pound until a coarse mixture forms.
Dill seeds, green sweet pepper, garlic, and dried red chili on a cutting board, alongside dagga in a large granite mortar.
You may also use a spice mill or food processor.
To assemble:
1. Chop the onion. Wash the chard and slice it thinly in one direction; turn it ninety degrees and slice thinly again.
Diced chard, fried seitan, dagga, and sumac-infused water with flour.
2. In a large pot, heat a couple tablespoons of olive oil on medium. Fry chopped onion, cardamom pods, and allspice berries for a minute until fragrant. Add half of the dagga and fry until fragrant.
3. Add chard and fry, mixing often, until wilted.
Wilted chard in a wok.
4. Add sumac mixture, chickpeas, and water to cover. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer. If you didn't steam your seitan earlier, add it now.
5. Continue to stir and simmer until the stew is thick, homogenous, and greyish-brown, about 15 minutes.
Simmered stew.
6. Add the remainder of the garlic mixture, the red tahina, a pinch of ground cumin, the 1/4 cup olive oil, and salt to taste. Return the steamed and seared seitan to the pot and mix.
Serve cool with flatbread, sweet green peppers, bitter green and black olives, carrots, leafy greens, and/or pickles.

Premier Cullen Tastes
Edward Cullen x reader
Summary: It's you and Edward's 5th anniversary
warnings: none
A.N. I know he would never actually feed in front of you, if you're human. But this is pretend :)
Tonight was you and Edward's fifth anniversary. Every year, the plans had gotten more and more drastic. You honestly couldn't decide which one was the wildest. The two tying for first place are the first, when you were blindfolded and taken on a "mystery vacation." You were taken to Alaska to see the northern lights. And the other was the third when you took Edward to Canada so he could hunt down their wild bears.
Though these make great memories, you feared that both of you would soon lose ideas. You were not a vampire, so he wanted to make the most of the time he had with you. No amount of "Edward, I'm 25, not dead!" worked.
But this year, you managed to convince everyone that you wanted a calmer anniversary. You both decided on a lovely restaurant in Seattle. You always found rain very calming, especially on a candlelit dinner.
There was a couple's area in this specific restaurant, and Edward bought out the entire room. It was just you and him in front of the large window. The drizzle outside added a nice ambiance to the otherwise quiet room. Music from the rest of the building leaked through the door with a dull mumble, but the rain seemed to perfectly drown it out.
The table was simple, small, and circular. It had a cloth table cover and a candle for light in the center. "Do you think it's real?" You whispered, You have no real reason to whisper. No one else was there except a waitress in the corner. But even their attention was elsewhere.
He reached his hand out, his fingers dancing over the flame for a moment. "Yes," He didn't need to say it. The look in his eye alone told you not to try what he just did. Soon later, the waitress from the corner came by, and you both ordered. What surprised you was that Edward ordered something himself.
"The special?" You cocked your head. Why on earth would he be eating human food when he didn't need to? The effect?
"Something Carlisle and I cooked up," was all he said. The wait for food felt much longer than ever. You had to know why your husband chose to eat dirt while you had fine cuisine.
The waitress came with just one plate on her tray. The food belonged to you, as it should. When she said she would be coming back for him, you had to ask again. "What are you pulling?"
"You'll see," he had the brightest grin on his face. You shook your head and looked down at your own food. You didn't want to begin eating yet. You knew to wait until everyone had their food.
The waitress returned carrying a bottle of wine. "Apologies for the delay, sir. The wine you requested." She showed off the label, "Premier Cullen Tastes" in beautiful penmanship was there. I wanted to hold back my reaction until she left.
"Yes, that's wonderful," he nodded his head and lifted his glass. The waitress popped the cork and was about to pour when Edward stopped her. "You've been very kind this evening, please, allow me."
She handed him the bottle and asked, "Is there anything else I can get you?"
"This will be all, thank you." With that, she nodded her head and walked back to the kitchen.
"Is that what I think that is?" Your voice was full of astonishment. Your eyes were big and bright as you looked at him.
He poured the drink into his wine glass. The thick red liquid flowed in beautiful ribbons. He treated it like anyone would treat wine due to the waitress still being in the corner. He leaned in, and you did the same. In your ear, he whispered, "Freshly picked this morning. From a wild black bear." He finished his statement by kissing right below your ear.
He leaned back with a smug expression. And you huffed, amazed. "How did you even - no. Tell me how this happened, beginning to end." He told you of how he and Carlisle had been planning something like this months before the anniversary. And once you chose the restaurant, everything went into motion. There were no actual "Premier Cullen Tastes" they just used a new bottle for this specific night. Emmett, of course, caught the bear, and then they filtered the blood into the glass as cleanly as possible. Then, there were a few people who needed to be paid off for secrecy in getting the bottle in the kitchen. The thing is, almost everyone in the kitchen knew of the 'special wine' except the waiters. Just being cautious, he didn't want her too close to the contents inside.
After finishing his story, your plate was nearly finished, as well as his glass. "But didn't you go hunting yesterday? Why the extra?"
His tone grew a little serious as he said, "I wanted to be safe." His smile returned, "and I wanted to be able to share a nice moment with you."
"Well, I appreciate it," You raised your wine glass, and he raised his. You clinked the glasses and took a sip. "Happy anniversary," you both said in unison. Later, he leaned in again and, in your ear, said, "Have I neglected to tell you how amazing you look tonight?" You smiled in response. Very smoothly, he pulled your chair closer to him. "Absolutely divine," he nipped at your ear lobe and placed a hand on your thigh.
"You are a gentleman!" You whisper-yelled in his ear.
"You make it so hard," he whispered back, starting to kiss your neck, moving lower and lower.
You pushed him off and looked toward the waitress, "We'll take the bill."
The air on the drive home was thick with tension. For once, your husbands hand on your thigh felt hot. It took everything in you not to grab him the moment the car stopped in the driveway of your home. But all restraints went out the window the moment the two of you crossed the threshold.

Hey could you write Benny with a popular cheerleader reader? Not the cult type tho
Benny Weir With A Cheerleader Girlfriend Headcanons
Masterlist
Request Something!
A/N: here’s some headcanons to tide yall over while im gone lol also idk how things are in canada so im pulling experience from my high school in america lol
***
Your cheerleading friends honestly have no idea why you’re with Benny
They think you could do better; everyone wants to either date you or be you
But you don’t care at all
Benny may be considered a “loser” by some people, but he’s a hot loser
“You’re staring again.” One of your friends muttered, just loud enough for you to hear, while you and the rest of the squad shook your pom-poms. All of the students were filing into the gym for a pep rally, and your boyfriend immediately caught your eye.
“I’m allowed to stare.” You responded with a giant grin, discreetly waving at Benny when he spotted you. He waved back before getting his friends to follow him to the first few rows of bleachers, trying to get a spot as close to you as possible.
“How did you even meet him?” The girl next to you asked. “I mean, there’s no way you guys run in the same circles.”
“He was a friend of a friend.” You answered. You were really good friends with Sarah, mainly because she was dating Jesse Black. But the two of you remained friends after he had left school, and she had introduced you to her new friend group. Most cheerleaders labeled them the geek squad, but you didn’t care. If anything, they were very refreshing to be around. “Now he’s my boyfriend. Simple as that.”
“He looks like he’s never felt a woman’s touch.” Your first friend giggled. You looked up at the bleachers to see Benny and your friends sitting in front of you in one of the higher rows. Your boyfriend stared at you intently with a goofy grin while everyone else talked amongst themselves.
“I like my men like that.” You said. The gym was almost filled, so the conversation would have to wrap up soon. “And trust me, he’s definitely felt a woman’s touch by now.” Although he couldn’t hear what you were talking about, you winked at Benny, making him blush.
Benny goes to every event that you have to be at
Even if it’s an away game or competition
He loves cheering for you and supporting you
He never pays attention to the game or anyone else on your cheer squad
“Benny, you don’t have to come.” You said for probably the hundredth time as you put on your uniform. Benny lay sprawled out on your bed, watching you straighten out your top. “It’s an hour-long ride both ways, and you don’t even care about football.”
“That may be true, but I still gotta cheer for my girl.” He reached for your skirt, lightly tugging on it until you were standing at the edge of your bed in front of him. Benny sat up, letting you stand between his legs while his hands gripped the backs of your thighs.
“I thought it was my job to do the cheering.” You jested, pushing back some hair from his face. “But still, you’ll be getting home late.”
“I don’t mind.” Benny persisted. “Was thinking that I’d go on the rooter bus, and then when we get back, we could get some dinner or something.”
You smiled at the idea. Food definitely sounded good. You’d eat before leaving, but you didn’t want to risk making a mess of your uniform or being late to the bus.
“How did I get so lucky?” You sighed, leaning down to kiss Benny. Even when you went to straighten up, he tried chasing your lips for another peck.
“I’m the lucky one,” Benny corrected you. A hand left your body so he could look at his watch, and he then quickly patted your thighs. “We better get going; we can’t miss the buses.” In a panic, you jumped away from him and grabbed your bag. While speeding down the stairs, Benny replaced the bag in your hold with his hand, slinging the bag over his shoulder.
When the two of you got to the high school, he speed-walked you to the bus that the football team and cheerleaders were supposed to ride to the game on. Benny made sure to give you a kiss before handing you your duffel bag.
“See you in an hour, babe.”
“Can’t wait.”
Gets really jealous when other people look at you in a certain way
He knows you’re popular and desirable, but it still gets on his nerves a bit
Especially if it’s a jock that wants you
Since he started dating you, homecoming week felt like torture for Benny. The dress-up days were fun, and he enjoyed the dance and hanging out with you and his friends.
But the day of the homecoming game absolutely sucked.
For some reason, it was tradition that on the day of the homecoming football game, the cheerleaders would get assigned a football player and wear their jersey for the day, plus the game itself. Benny usually didn’t care so much. At the end of the day, you were solely interested in him. Plus, it was just a piece of clothing.
But this year, the jersey you were wearing belonged to a guy who didn’t seem to care that you even had a boyfriend.
“How does it fit?” The football player asked as you situated the shirt you were wearing. Benny glared at him from down the hall. The guy’s name was Josh, or Jake, or something similar. Benny didn’t really care enough to know.
“Fine, Jason.” You answered before opening your locker. Jason leaned against the wall, looking at you like you were a piece of meat. Benny suddenly wished he was a football player, just so he could see “Weir” displayed on your back instead of “Graham.”
“Maybe after we win the game, we can hang out or something,” Jason suggested, and Benny wanted to throw up at the thought. “You look really good in my clothes; I kinda wanna show you off.”
You shut your locker, giving Jason a bored expression.
“Yeah, well, I look better in my boyfriend’s clothes.” You looked past Jason to see Benny, who was eyeing the both of you. You smiled and started walking to him. “Speaking of, I see him so… bye!”
The second you were within reach, Benny had a protective, almost possessive, hold on you. He kept glaring at Jason, who scoffed at the two of you and walked away. You finally took his attention away from the boy by planting your hands on his cheeks and kissing him.
“What are you so worked up about?” You asked, but you already knew the answer. You pulled Benny down the hall so you could go to class.
“Nothing.” He answered, which the both of you knew was a lie. He muttered something you couldn’t hear, and there was a sudden yelp behind you. You looked back to see Jason spinning in circles, trying to look at something behind him. Looking closer, you notice that a tail had sprouted out from his backside.
“Benny!” You meant to say it in a reprimanding way, but let out a giggle as you turned back around.
“What?” Benny asked, smiling slightly. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Sure you didn’t.”
“Hey, do the cheerleaders do this jersey thing for other sports or just football?” Benny asked curiously.
“Just football, I think. Why?” Benny shrugged innocently.
“Just wondering. Was thinking of maybe joining the hockey team or something.”
“Oh, I’d wear a jersey with your name on it any day, baby.”

The most prestigious election in the world. The Presidency of the United States. Usually two candidates hammering out their agendas and their promises if they are able to win the most coveted job, the Presidency. Something changed. The Democrats have changed the game. Democrats no longer run on agenda. They have no agenda. Their goal? Destroying our America. How can they win after failure upon failure? Sell fear. Sell the people their opponent is bad for business. Lie about him and scare the people if they win our Democracy will end. Democracy? They mean Democrat Power. They use a rigged media to deliver nothing but lies, fear, and bullshit propaganda. Their message? Vote for us or die a slow death.
Democrats say if you are black and don’t vote for Kamala you should check your race and if you are white and don’t vote for Kamala you are racist. This here is their way to guilt you into voting for them.
They say Trump will be a dictator. They say Trump will cause bloodbaths in the streets if he loses. All lies. They tell you Trump is for the rich, wants to end Social Security, Medicare, low prescription prices. All lies and they know it. None of that matters when the coveted prize of power is at stake. It is no holds barred and they will eat their own to keep their quest for power and end our Constitutional Republic and replacing it with a NWO. They want to be the ruling class that rules the world.
If only the people who support the Dems could stop buying the bullshit and start opening their eyes and ears and learn the truth about the Party they defend and plan on voting for.
Kamala Harris already said the quiet part out loud. They want to depopulate the world. This isn’t fake propaganda, this is reality. They no longer support our most important ally, instead support the terrorists they are fighting. Proof? Kamala refused to meet with Netanyahu but if their money laundering CEO Zelensky came to town, they’d be rolling out the red carpet and another blank check. Where does it all end? It doesn’t if they stop Trump. They tried everything from smear campaigns, to trying to lock him up, when all failed they tried to end his life. Protecting Democracy simply means protecting the Democrat Party.
How important is this election? Imagine this. If the wheels on the bus, passage of time word salad Queen ever gets the White House it’s game over. You thought Biden was a puppet of the Obama far left? Kamala makes them all look like Conservatives compared to where she wants to take this country. The budget? What budget. They’ll be printing Monopoly money. Our schools? Education will be a thing if the past. It will be all about DEI training and government control. There will be no future because there will be no country. The open borders are all part of the plan. They are our replacements. They will be the slave class to help put their operation in motion. And that will start with getting rid of us. They already want to get rid of the old and sick. Just look at Canada. They think it’s ok to end your lives.
They want to control our food, our medicine, our doctors, mandating vaccines, and telling you how to live. Do you trust them? What the hell is in the food or water we ingest? What is in all the medicine we take? The only people that no their end game is we Conservatives and they know it. That is why they labeled us MAGA. Easier for them to find us and end us. Their mind games and controlling all started with having their base brainwashed against all of us and the end goal is to take us all out.
One problem. We all know this. Trump knows this. We also have goals. Our goals are simple. Keep Trump safe, return him to the White House, and flip the script by ending every last one of them, who is running their shit show, and finally returning our America. We have God. Our faith with the chosen one, Trump will end all this madness and restore civility forever in this the greatest Country in the world. My two cents.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT:
Democrats VOTED DOWN a bill that would have forced all meat products to clearly be label if injected mRNA vaccines “mRNA vaccines are entering our food chain in several species.
So currently all farmed shrimp are being vaccinated with mRNA. Currently pork is an unknown amount is being vaccinated with mRNA.”
“Some of the companies state on their advertising, we put the right gene in your livestock vaccine. So they have vaccines going into the swine industry. We don't have data on how much of it's being sold and where and who are the buyers.”
“A customized vaccines where they go on to a farm, they take samples of the of the diseases on the farm, then go into the lab and a few days later they produce an mRNA vaccine for your customized to your farm's diseases. There's no testing, no research, nothing.” - John Graff, a nutritionist, chemist, process engineer, agribusiness executive, and a board director of the National Citizen’s Inquiry Speaking of impact taking place in Canada right now.
Know Democrats shut down the bill requiring labeling here in America, so we are next. This is extremely, extremely dangerous.

This blog was made for my Neurodivergency, my special interests and my hyperfixations, and everything else to do with my neurodivergency. There will be positive posts, silly posts, relatable posts, negative posts, and more here.

I’m undiagnosed PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and/or PME (Premenstrual Exacerbation), and hopefully soon can be diagnosed.
Questioning POTS, HSD or EDS/hEDS. (NOT claiming to have this or self-diagnosed as of yet, I am still doing research, but I do have lots of signs that point to these things.)
My special interests are Wings Of Fire, Harry Potter, Dragons in general, and Neurodivergency.
I have no current hyperfixations that I’ve noticed, and I’m extremely low on dopamine because of it. /silly /srs
I have verbal shutdowns, shutdowns and meltdowns in general, I mask without realizing it a lot, and I’m usually in burnout. I also have severe imposter syndrome that I deal with literally 24/7.
Tone tags are very much appreciated when talking to me, so PLEASE use them! If you aren’t sure what they are or what they mean or how to use them, please just ask and I will happily let you know! <3 /gen
I used to cope by using maladaptive daydreaming, so I relate a lot to maladaptive daydreamers a lot.
I struggle with violent and horrible intrusive thoughts (due to my OCD) and have for years now since I was a kid.
I have lots of trauma, both remembered and not remembered, so beware.
I’m a SI and SH survivor and in recovery.

Queerness
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
I’m a bit of a gender hoarder, but I don’t use that as my label. I usually call myself a Genderfluid Genderflux Non-Binary TransGuy, but just think of me as a mash of all the genders I experience.
Currently, I don’t know what gender I’m feeling.
I use He/It/They/Xe/Ne/Ze/Love/Wolf/Star/Moon/🌙/Sun pronouns + any/all neopronouns, nounself pronouns, xenopronouns, and emojiself pronouns. Basically, everything EXCEPT She/Her.
I’m AroAce, Aromantic and Myrsexual (Neuroasexual, Nebulasexual, Dreadsexual, Acorsexual, Apothisexual, Falsaesthsexual, Bellussexual, Rosesexual, Requiesexual, Placiosexual, and Merosexual), and I’m Homoalterous, Omniqueerplatonic, Panexteramo, Pansensual, and Panaesthetic.
I’m Ambiamorous with no preference.
I’m also a Lesboy and T4T-leaning.
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
Nonhumanity
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
I’m a Polytherian, Otherkin, Otherfix, Otherhearted, and a Fictionflicker.
I have a Vancouver Coastal Sea Wolf Theriotype, a Red Fox Theriotype, Nurse Shark Theriotype, Snow Leopard, Norwegian Forest Cat, Maned Wolf Theriotype, Coyote Theriotype, Side-Striped Jackal Theriotype, and a Canada Lynx Theriotype.
I have a Fiction Kintype (Dark Fey, Forest Type, from the Maleficent movies), a Dragon Kintype (SeaWing/SilkWing hybrid), another Dragon Kintype (Night-Light Fury hybrid), Angel, Silver Fox, Avian (humanoid with wings and tail) and a Raccoon.
I’ve had Fictotypes for Hylian, an OC species of mine, Orphinki, Sable, and Owl (all).
I have a Whale Shark Hearttype.
I’m transspecies, humanfluid, pseudohuman, sunnonhuman, and voidpunk.
I fluctuate between Nonhuman and Human, although am always on some level both, just other times are stronger for one and the other not so much, but I refer to myself overall as just Nonhuman. My soul is a combination of human and nonhuman.
All of my Nonhumanity is due to a combination of Past Lives, Fate, and Neurodivergency. I believe I was all my ‘types in past lives, and only found out about it in this life due to my neurodivergency.
I’ve been awakened for only a few months now. I want gear, but I don’t have any right now. I’m making my own wings currently, and I hope to have them done soon if my ADHD brain will allow me.
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
Reality Shifting
♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩♫♩
I’m a Reality Shifter, which means I move my consciousness from one reality into another one.
I do believe in the multiverse.
I’ve known about reality shifting since around 2020 or 2021, and started my journey then.
I spent a lot of my time trying to shift, even though I didn’t have the proper mindset or knowledge to shift.
I took a huge break after trying for only a month or so, only trying to shift occasionally.
I’ve come back to it in 2024 after finding shiftblr, having more knowledge, a better mindset, and more motivation.
I’ve shifted once to a parallel reality, where I relived/redid a day.
I have way too many DRs to count, and I’m thinking about permashifting to my Better CR DR.

I’m Agnostic, slightly spiritual, and very respectful and interested in others’ religions. (Although, I do have negative experiences/trauma with Christian and God/Jesus Christ focused religions, and if your blog is heavy with that, I would prefer if you didn’t interact with me! Thank you!)

some birds with some basic bird conservation tips for earth day! 🥰
(ETA: managed to post this with a slide missing. it’s fixed now!)
alt text & relevant links below the cut
[a series of images with Serenes Forest as a backdrop, also featuring reyson, leanne, and rafiel from the fire emblem tellius games.
slide 1: reyson crouches singing to various songbirds. transcription: happy earth day! bird populations in North America have declined by nearly 3 billion in the last 50 years. habitat loss, pesticides, human infrastructure, and loss of food sources all contribute to decline. climate change is a thread multiplier. here are some simple actions you can take to help birds!
slide 2: leanne sits beside a window, nursing a head injury. transcription: windows! an estimated 1 billion birds suffer window collisions every year in the US and canada. lights can confuse birds - help by turning off your lights or drawing curtains at night. further birdproof your windows by using decals, tape, or paint to disrupt the reflections! (you can purchase window decals just for this purpose!)
slide 3: reyson recoils dramatically from ranulf in cat form, who mutters “bro I am just sitting here.” transcription: cats. domestic cats are not natural predators in north america, and kill 1-4 billion birds each year. many of these cats are feral or stray: support local shelters and rescues with trap/neuter/release programs to reduce feral cat populations. if you own a cat, don’t let your cat outside unsupervised! leash train your boi or build a catio.
slide 4: rafiel ruefully holds yune the bird in his hands; she is lying stunned. transcription: beware pesticides. insecticides are the biggest bird killer. neonicotinoids (or “neonics”), deveoped since the ban of DDT, are used everywhere in the US - farms, cities, and suburbs. they infect entire food chains systemically. avoid neonics in your own home and garden: if you buy plants, read labels to avoid neonic-treated specimens. buy organic produce if you can. the EU has banned outdoor use of many neonics, but the US has not - support local and national initiatives to regulate insecticide use!
slide 5: get involved! this is all bigger than the individual. climate change is a big issue and we can’t fight it alone. seek resources for native plants, bird feeding, and bird monitoring efforts in your area. be sure to look up: your local audubon society; conservation orgs in your area; and climate action plans by indigenous communities near you.

Please Read If You Live In The USA
Hi! My name isn't actually Petunia, it's just a nickname, and I used it so I could maintain some level of anonymity on here and protect myself from shame and awkwardness. That is no longer an option to me.
I live in New York state, not the big city, a different region. If you are female, non-binary, or transgender and over the age of 18, living in a state that isn't so fun as mine, maybe you could come visit me? Maybe you finally decided that your random internet bestie should be your real life bestie and you just have to meet each other! After all, good friends are so hard to find these days! I live with family currently, so you would have to find a place to stay for your visit, but I would just love to finally get to meet you!
I mean, we could check out Niagara Falls, it's basically in my backyard, or we could take a little food tour of Western New York! If money is going to be tight, maybe it'll be on me if I'm in a decent spot with money, but if we're just two broke idiots, well, public parks are always a great option to hang out in, or we could hole up in your staying place and have some fun talking about all our favorite fandoms and characters! Also, we could take a little day trip to Canada, border's right there and and as long as you've got your documents and behave going through customs, it's fun! The butterfly conservatory is amazing, I bet you'd really love it! Think about how fun it could be to just have a little get-away with your internet bestie?
I don't care about my own embarrassment anymore, I will take being embarrassed for being a freak over not being at least offering to help people who need it right now. I'm nobody, I have like four mutuals and only one talks to me consistently (Which is my fault, NOT theirs, not playing the blame game here, not even close), but if someone needs a justifiable excuse to hang out in NY for a bit, send me a private message.
I don't care if we're mutuals or not, I don't care if you're even in the Star Wars fandom, I'll read up on something if you need me to. I can help with finding activities and resources in my area, I will gladly scope out the best hotels/motels/rentals in my area if you need me to.
Even if no one sees this post or takes me up on this, I just want to know, I tried. I tried to do something to keep people from being hurt when they shouldn't have to be. I'm currently a part-time college student and looking into getting applications in for jobs, but if you need help, if you need someone to be on your side when your own family isn't, come to me.
At this point, if you voted for the person hurting us? Still message me if you need help. I loathe your choice but I am not going to let you be hurt or worse because of it. Don't get me wrong, I am furious with those who voted him in, but if I let you suffer because of him, I would be no better than the hateful bigots on the other side from me.
And if immigration is what your goal is, I will gladly try to help you with Canadian immigration or coming to NY to explore your options. I will not help you cross with the intent to do so illegally, but a day-trip to check out Ontario? I will do it. I will not help with anything outright illegal, but if you need help and are willing to be close enough to legal not to get me arrested, I'm here.
There's this thing I saw people saying on social media "I could hate her more than anything in the world, and I still wouldn't leave her alone with that weird man at the party." You are now all in that first category, I don't care if you're a Trekie (I had to add humor, I'm losing it), you will never catch me leaving you alone at this party unless I am truly unable to, which would be if I'm arrested and/or dead.
Reach out if you need someone, there's none of you who should be left to the wolves now. <3
I am AFAB, cis-gender as far as everyone knows, I will now be referring to myself as straight but I used to go by bisexual as a label, and 23 years old. For more details, DM me and we can see what we need to do.
