I loathe Rahul Gandhi so much. The best example of an useless nepo baby surrounded by corrupt sycophants who benefit from having him being in charge of the Congress party.

I hold Gandhi to be partially responsible if Modi wins because unfortunately as of now the Congress party is the only viable opposition party at the national level considering the regional parties can never appeal to voters at the national level in a country as diverse and different as India. Tamil Nadu's DMK will never win votes in West Bengal and, vice versa, Mamata's TMC will never win votes in Tamil Nadu.

And yet here is Rahul Gandhi, squatting like a giant toad at the head of his party after losing elections THREE fucking times, including in his own constituency. The way his greed has him holding onto power after the people rejected him IN THREE CONSECUTIVE ELECTIONS! Rahul Gandhi is a gift, a boon to the BJP. Every time Rahul Gandhi talks, I cringe. He has no idea how to appeal to the common Indian, how to connect with them.

And then the way he made this big show and talk about resigning after losing the last election and then held a sham of a party election where all his sycophants voted in a EIGHTY YEAR OLD MAN as a proxy puppet so that Rahul could continue to be the defacto leader and hold power and make decisions, while actually qualified leaders like Shashi Tharoor had to pretend he had any chance in this farce of a pretend party election.

The Congress party could have rebranded and remade itself anytime in the last ten years. Freed itself from the clutches of the Gandhis. Elected a brand new qualified young leader who could understand and connect with the people, the middle class, the youth and fight back against Hindutva with jobs, development, hospitals, roads, water, infrastructure.

And yet all the Gandhis care about is personal power, holding onto that power, fuck the country, fuck the descent into fascism and religious extremism, who cares about all that as long as this useless pos gets to stay as leader of the party and pretend he gives a fuck.

It's nearly one am when Simon stumbles out of the bar. The team was in Berlin for an operation but they had wrapped that up yesterday. Their flight home wasn't scheduled till the next day so they had decided to enjoy the sights and activities. And you can't visit the beer capital of the world without getting a pint, Soap had pointed out. So they stopped by the pub. One pint turned into two, two turned into three. Now he was, staggering down the streets of Berlin with only one goal in mind.

He needed to get home to the missus.

Simon didn't get very far away from the bar before Soap noticed his absence. Soap gently steers him back to the bar. Simon loosely swats at him.

"She'll be u'set if 'm naw home," Simon slurs at him. Soap chuckles and nods.

"I know. But you canny just waltz out on us," he says, pushing Simon into a seat. Simon huffs and begins to stand again, wobbling just a bit.

"Sit yer ass down. We'll call the missus, right?", Soap offers. After fumbling his phone for a minute and trying to get the password typed in, Soap helps Simon call you.

"Hi, honey. How is it going?", your voice rings through the phone. Simon gives you a drunken grin.

" 'llo love," he slurs. You giggle at his love drunk expression.

"Hi baby. Had a bit to drink?," you chuckle.

"He near tried to walk himself home," Soap shouts to you. You laugh harder. Simon wrinkles his nose at Soap, still displeased with being kept there.

" 'm sorry, love. I won't be home in time for dinner," he rumbles. He looks so sad. Big brown eyes staring down at the phone, lip poked out in a small pout. You wipe a tear of laughter from your eye.

"Oh honey, I think it's past dinner time."

yuuji's jaw drops, half because he never expected to walk in on this, but also half because he's jealous... megumi is making out with you and poor yuu hasn't even been on a date, let alone kissed a girl. yuuji feels like he can do nothing except stand frozen there, mouth slightly agape, eyes wide as plates as you both yank away from each other and turn your heads to face him.

"what the hell!?" megumi barks, already getting up to push yuji out of his room. "can't you knock?"

"what the hell me?" yuji gasps as he's pushed backwards by his best friend. "what the hell you! you never told me—"

"i don't have to tell you things!"

"out!"

but just as the door is about to slam in yuujis poor face, the boys hear a gentle giggle coming from you, still seated on megumi's bed with your knees drawn to your chest. they both turn to you, eyebrows raised and curious as to whats so funny?

yuuji realises he really likes the sound of your laugh, and glances to megumi almost apologetically as he takes it in with a soft smile. megumi runs a hand over his face, "what is it?"

"nothing," you shake your head, "just… he doesn't have to leave, right?"
