EDIT: Sadly, the Boost top-up card didn't go through; Amazon basically considers it a gift card, and you can't use a gift card to buy a gift card. So I still need $65 to get the card from Walmart if it will let me pay with PayPal.

My mother and I have a ton of bills and loan payments to make, plus we're both overdrawn currently. Any help to pay these bills/loan payments would help us get back on our feet and be able to pay for most of our needs without asking for so much help each month.

I currently need $2000 to cover bills that came out February 3rd on both my mothers and my accounts, as well as paying off a loan my mom took out so her monthly payments won't be garnished. Please help?

For those not aware, we currently do not have a working car, my mother was hospitalized for a week in December and still has lingering health issues, my daughter has just started HRT and I got second-degree burns on my neck and chest a few weeks ago that needs to heal. Once we get these loans paid off, we'll be able to start saving to fix the car, which we need for all the appointments we have each month that medical transport doesn't cover.

7 Sinful Bugs Crowdfunding Campaign

Today is a bit of a different announcement- and one I have been both super excited and very anxious about.

I Will Be Launching My First Kickstart!

This will be a collection of 7 enamel pin designs based off the 7 deadly sins: wrath, sloth, lust, envy, greed and gluttony.

A direct opposite to the Biblically Accurate Bugs- which are still in the works! (And will be stretch goals for the campaign)

This kickstarter will launch on March 18th, as part of a collaborative collection titled Oddities and Obscura with several other artists starting their own projects. I will also be partnering with one particular artist- but I will reveal that closer to the time ;)

For now you can sign up to get emails when the campaign launches, as well as get news when there's any kind of announcement about the project.

Spreading this around and sharing would be greatly appreciated <3 It is my first ever crowdfunding campaigns so any little like or share or whispering to your friend will make a world of difference.

I'm really struggling

I've posted commissions, adopts and the like and they're not really getting anywhere and I'll leave both up for the sake of possible bites.

I need to eat, I haven't made much in the last 3 months outside of some help from friends, I am struggling getting a job and I'm disability. I would like help with food.

I try not to make my situation seem to dire in my posts as to not seem like I'm guilty tripping people, as well as offer commissions when I can when I'm not busy with older ones, but nothing is working. I know other people are struggling and If I can pay it forward when I'm not in such a bad situation I will! I need help with food. Desperately so! I need help getting to my appointments desperately so. I need help.

Here's how this repository works: all photos were taken by me, a human, at zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries, and other facilities with animals in human care. There is no AI involved in the photo editing or creation and there never will be. Right now there's 56 species on the site; my catalog has over 300 and I will be uploading the rest of them as fast as I can.

Artists creating derivative or transformative works (without AI) have blanket permission to use these references. Yes, even for work you're going to sell.

All other usage/reproduction requires permission, but assume I'm friendly and please do ask! That's educators, researchers, the media, people who need images for a school presentation, etc. This is just to retain copyright/control in case they're scraped/reused unethically - it doesn't meant I don't want folk to have access! So please do reach out via the contact form on the repository website, I don't bite and I'm most likely going to say yes.

Please don't repost the repository photos to your own blogs: I've created @animalphotorefs as a dedicated blog to share photos from the site, and of course I'll reblog a lot of it here! That again just helps with retaining copyright and sourcing of the images. If you really want to repost some for a specific purpose, please just ask me first!

fahed and reem are the parents to five children. the prolonged attack on gaza and subsequent destruction of everything they've known has forced them to fundraise, but the oldest, sahar (@fahedshehab9), has been making videos to help spread the word. the thought of a young girl advocating for her family's survival in front of the world is as heartbreaking 10 months into cruel bombardment as it was on october 7, october 6, 2023, 2014, 2008, and every single day since 1948 when palestine was first shattered.

this is the current progress of their fundraiser. sahar has done a wonderful job spreading the word so far, but as of posting, they still need €18,634 to meet their goal.

Help challenge the UK ban on puberty blockers

One day before the UK parliament was dissolved on 30 May 2024, the health secretary Victoria Atkins introduced an immediate ban for trans young people using puberty blockers.

Possession of puberty blockers for trans children is now punishable by up to two years in prison in the UK. Puberty blockers for cisgender children remains legal.

The timing of this act was careful and deliberate. As parliament was dissolved the next day, there are now no working MPs in the UK, meaning that citizens have no way to challenge the ban.

The Good Law Project is running a crowdfunder to challenge it in court. They have about £2,000 of £75,000 needed. Please support it if you can, in any way that works for you.
