At the very, very start of Covid and the release of the vax I understood doubt about the vax especially from Black and primarily Spanish speaking women. But I've noticed fear mongers have been exploiting those doubts raised by marginalized groups that have mostly gone on to support the vaccines to push their anti-vax stance as 'reasonable.' It pisses me off to see their words taken out of context and used to harm marginalized groups by exploiting what was reasonable questions to profit off of unregulated slop that they sell.
Not to mention we have lots of science showing the widespread safety of covid vaccination (less than 80 objectively severe reactions per million people). In several of the following studies, there were no severe reactions to covid vaccination. It's one thing to have caution around the first mass use of a relatively new and relatively unproven concept, but the time for that skepticism's validity ended like 4 years ago.
Most vaccine reactions are minor and only notable because most people avoid vaccination in general because of the minor discomfort it causes (and some because of cost)

Personal: I am worried for the Poverty Clinic
Amoung the Too Many Things that maid up my Wednesday, I went to get vaccinated. Yes, I know my Doctor suggested I should wait for February after my September COVID, according to current guidelines, but I am worried that that all vaccines may be banned by that point, if the Republicans fullfill their threats. I don't want to get caught in what I suspect will be a rush for boosters in January by people who are aware of the planned vaccine ban.
Sure, it might not happen, but this is one of the areas where they can move without Congress and there isn't much stopping them, so I decided on caution. I take vaccination seriously and there is a reason I was classed group 1B during intial vaccine roll out. I'm a medically fragile person who had to mask against things like influenza before 2020. I made it four and a half years before catching it, I'd rather not catch it again, as I am still tired from my first bout in september and I'd rather not lose any more function. I'd get an RSV vaccine if they'd let me. I have all my other shots.
So I was down at the poverty clinic pharmacy chatting with the guy giving me my shot, who has been there, I think, a couple decades, so I'm a familiar face. So I mentioned my worries about the public health policy situation to see how they wwere taking it at Poverty clinic.
He had a lot to say, not surprisingly. They are frightened and furious. They rely on grants and are absolutely essential to the healthcare infrastructure of the city. In my opinion, they are absolutely irreplaceable. They serve the poor and other marginalized communities. They've been essential to providing healthcare to the HIV+ population since the '80's, they are a hub for trans healthcare for several counties, they are queer friendly generally and safe, they have lots of immigrant services and translators, they do a lion's share of health care and dentistry for the homeless population. Him: We save lives here. I don't know what will happen if we lose our grants and close.
Me either, Sir. Me either.

A PSA for people in the UK before winter starts to hit - While you can't even buy the covid booster privately here and will only be offered it on the NHS if you're in a clinically vulnerable group, you can get the covid booster by going to your nearest walk in vaccination centre and saying you are a carer. Google your local authority and '2023 covid booster' and you'll find where those places are, or check with your local pharmacy. There's no official definition of what a carer is, if you ever have contact with someone immunocompromised or elderly and especially if you ever help them out in any way, you absolutely are a carer enough to get the vaccine.
Also, one of the clinically vulnerable groups is 'severe mental illness' - it is up to you whether you meet that definition or not, they should not cross reference it against your NHS record and you don't have to go into further detail if you give that as your eligibility criteria.
The people doing the vaccinations have more vaccines than they have takeup and they want to get them into peoples' arms. It will only keep people safer to have more of us up to date with our vaccinations, get the vaccine booster by whatever means necessary.

Seeking answers for unbiased opinions and experiences to a particular question related to COVID vaccination symptoms, as internet searches do not provide adequate information to these specifics.
After about two years of having received both doses of the Moderna COVID vaccination (no after boosters nor the recent RSV vaccination) I'm randomly experiencing stab like pains within my right lung, and pin & needle like simulations within my heart.
As well as random palpitations within my chest and irregular heartbeats. This has been an occurrence beforehand as I've experienced anxiety and panic attacks, though my current state of mental health dictates otherwise.
*Edited to add information not to confuse future commenters: These feelings of symptoms have persisted for a couple months now. I'm experiencing no COVID like symptoms at the current moment and am COVID free. These symptoms of what I'm experiencing are not correlated to COVID, per medical diagnosis and treatments. These symptoms are in relation to others after having received vaccinations per testimonials online.*
To add, what I'm aware of and have tested, I was never diagnosed with COVID while the outbreak persisted.
Curious if anyone, of any age, if you're comfortable to share this information online, has had similar symptoms after receiving the vaccine and if medical treatment has been sought out, what were the diagnosis?
If so, thank you for sharing and helping.
Blessed be.

Great news for uninsured adults in the USA who want a COVID-19 booster! It now appears that ALL CVS locations are now active participants in the Bridge Access Program. The Bridge Access Program gives out free Covid-19 vaccinations to 18+ adults who otherwise can't afford one, so if you have a CVS near you, please go get one! For others who don't have a CVS near them, please go to vaccines.gov, click on "Find Covid-19 vaccines", fill out which vaccines you prefer (you can mix different vaccines if you have to so i reccomend just marking all of them for the age groups you need), and when the next page loads mark the "Bridge Access Program Participant" option to see only locations that are Bridge Access Program participants. Hopefully, other places that aren't CVS will start participating soon, so just check back every so often to see if there are any updates. The CDC Bridge Access Program website also has more details on what locations will be participating, but only CVS is appearing as an active participant on the vaccines.gov location finder at the moment.

"The Food and Drug Administration approved new mRNA coronavirus vaccines Thursday [August 22, 2024], clearing the way for shots manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna to start hitting pharmacy shelves and doctor’s offices within a week.
Health officials encourage annual vaccination against the coronavirus, similar to yearly flu shots. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a new vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends.
The FDA has yet to approve an updated vaccine from Novavax, which uses a more conventional vaccine development method but has faced financial challenges.
Our scientific understanding of coronavirus vaccines has evolved since they debuted in late 2020. Here’s what to know about the new vaccines.
Why are there new vaccines?
The coronavirus keeps evolving to overcome our immune defenses, and the shield offered by vaccines weakens over time. That’s why federal health officials want people to get an annual updated coronavirus vaccine designed to target the latest variants. They approve them for release in late summer or early fall to coincide with flu shots that Americans are already used to getting.
The underlying vaccine technology and manufacturing process are the same, but components change to account for how the virus morphs. The new vaccines target the KP.2 variant because most recent covid cases are caused by that strain or closely related ones...
Do the vaccines prevent infection?
You probably know by now that vaccinated people can still get covid. But the shots do offer some protection against infection, just not the kind of protection you get from highly effective vaccines for other diseases such as measles.
The 2023-2024 vaccine provided 54 percent increased protection against symptomatic covid infections, according to a CDC study of people who tested for the coronavirus at pharmacies during the first four months after that year’s shot was released...
A nasal vaccine could be better at stopping infections outright by increasing immunity where they take hold, and one is being studied in a trial sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
If you really want to dodge covid, don’t rely on the vaccine alone and take other precautions such as masking or avoiding crowds...
Do the vaccines help prevent transmission?
You may remember from early coverage of coronavirus vaccines that it was unclear whether shots would reduce transmission. Now, scientists say the answer is yes — even if you’re actively shedding virus.
That’s because the vaccine creates antibodies that reduce the amount of virus entering your cells, limiting how much the virus can replicate and make you even sicker. When vaccination prevents symptoms such as coughing and sneezing, people expel fewer respiratory droplets carrying the virus. When it reduces the viral load in an infected person, people become less contagious.
That’s why Peter Hotez, a physician and co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development, said he feels more comfortable in a crowded medical conference, where attendees are probably up to date on their vaccines, than in a crowded airport.
“By having so many vaccinated people, it’s decreasing the number of days you are shedding virus if you get a breakthrough infection, and it decreases the amount of virus you are shedding,” Hotez said.
Do vaccines prevent long covid?
While the threat of acute serious respiratory covid disease has faded, developing the lingering symptoms of “long covid” remains a concern for people who have had even mild cases. The CDC says vaccination is the “best available tool” to reduce the risk of long covid in children and adults. The exact mechanism is unclear, but experts theorize that vaccines help by reducing the severity of illness, which is a major risk factor for long covid.
When is the best time to get a new coronavirus vaccine?
It depends on your circumstances, including risk factors for severe disease, when you were last infected or vaccinated, and plans for the months ahead. It’s best to talk these issues through with a doctor.
If you are at high risk and have not recently been vaccinated or infected, you may want to get a shot as soon as possible while cases remain high. The summer wave has shown signs of peaking, but cases can still be elevated and take weeks to return to low levels. It’s hard to predict when a winter wave will begin....
Where do I find vaccines?
CVS said its expects to start administering them within days, and Walgreens said that it would start scheduling appointments to receive shots after Sept. 6 and that customers can walk in before then.
Availability at doctor’s offices might take longer. Finding shots for infants and toddlers could be more difficult because many pharmacies do not administer them and not every pediatrician’s office will stock them given low demand and limited storage space.
This year’s updated coronavirus vaccines are supposed to have a longer shelf life, which eases the financial pressures of stocking them.
The CDC plans to relaunch its vaccine locator when the new vaccines are widely available, and similar services are offered by Moderna and Pfizer."
