Double-Mutated Mikey
Chapter 10: Neural, Divergent
Continued from the short story written by @boots-with-the-fur-club
Prev || Next
Mikey is unable to answer. He just keeps looking at the three of them, eyes begging for help and watering quickly. His mouth opens and closes several times over, though no sounds emerge.
At long last, his hands -- shaky and trembling -- desperately sign a message.
'Purple... Blue... Red... brothers. Knows, Mikey KNOWS. MIKEY KNOWS, MIKEY KNOWS -- BROTHERS, BROTHERS, BROTHERS, BROTHERS...'
Mikey starts crying, simply signing that one word over and over again. Brothers, brothers, brothers...
Donnie rushes to his side and holds him closely.
"It's okay, Angie. You know us. You remember us. That's good, that's very good, you're okay... I'm sorry Angie, I didn't mean to --"
Mikey starts hiccuping and grabs at Donnie in despair, clawing at him and wrapping his tail around him tightly, as if getting closer to him will reignite some missing link in his spotty memory. He refuses to let go. His cries are wet, wobbly, uncontrolled. They sound like they belong to a child ten years younger than Mikey.
Donnie halts for a moment. He trembles. He grips Mikey tightly, rubbing his back. He notices the ridges on his shell start to raise. The scales on his tail begin to lift up. Mikey is highly uncomfortable. Donnie needs to calm him down before his 'instinct' can take over.
He gives him quiet shushes and waves his brothers over, who immediately come close and wrap their arms around him as well, Leo rubbing circles on his head while Raph takes Mikey's hands.
'Sorry,' Mikey signs against Donnie, his eyes squeezed shut as he suck-up cries. 'Mikey... broken. Mikey knows Mikey broken. Doesn't want to be...'
"You don't have to be sorry, Michael, it isn't your fault," Donnie assures him. "I promise, I will fix you. You won't stay 'broken', you're not 'broken' at all! You're just... just..."
Donnie doesn't know what term to use. Mikey can't be broken...
...But he is. Donnie will always hate himself for admitting this, if only in the deepest part of his subconscious, but Mikey is broken now. His shell looks like it was literally shattered and then glued back together. His hands and feet are reformed, disfigured talons. He can't speak. He can't (or at least, has yet to) walk upright. He can't remember things that are highly important, like the past week or what his father looks like. By his own admission, he sometimes isn't even in control of his own self.
Mikey forgot what their names were.
That is not normal. Especially for him.
Mikey isn't himself anymore.
Mikey's breathing starts to slow. It's been a few minutes, and he's calmed down. He's still shaking slightly, but otherwise...
He's not fine. None of them are 'fine'. But he's finished crying, at least.
Donnie sighs and asks Mikey if he'd be willing to do one more test quickly. He feels Mikey nod against his chest.
Donnie lets the others go get breakfast while he prepares the final examination. Raph carries Mikey into the kitchen, where Casey has taken over as head chef in Michelangelo's absence. Apparently, future Mikey taught him some recipes, including deep-fried rat... which, actually, doesn't taste that bad. Though today, Casey has opted for pancakes and bacon. Mikey smells the bacon first, and his tail starts to weakly wag, though his expression is still exhausted from the crying.
"Good morning, Michelangelo!" Casey Jones Jr. says with a smile. "Ya hungry?"
Mikey nods as Raph lowers him down on the bench by the table.
"I'm guessing he wants strawberry pancakes?"
"Those are his fav, how did you know --" Raph stops and rolls his eyes. "Right. Future. You know everything."
"Well, maybe not everything," Casey chuckles. He turns back to the flapjacks, hiding the shift in his expression. "...I didn't know this would happen..."
Mikey signs something to Leo, who nods and turns to CJ.
"Mikey wants extra bacon with his pancakes. New diet, he needs more meat."
"You got it, sensei -- I mean, Leo."
Casey inhales, balling his fist up in soft frustration before exhaling and going back to focus on the food. He's been doing better at not calling them by their future names, but every once in a while he slips. It doesn't seem to bother anyone... apart from Casey Jr.
And Leonardo.
Casey finishes Mikey's meal first, handing a plate stacked full of pancakes and bacon to him. Mikey's eyes go wide, his pupils huge. He starts to drool at the food, sniffing it once before ravenously devouring it. Mikey doesn't even use a fork or knife, which at this point doesn't surprise anyone. But he does cause a bit of a mess, smearing the syrup all across his face and splashing some on Raph, who has the misfortune of sitting directly besides him.
"Mikey, calm down! There's plenty more where that came from," Raph says with a soft chuckle as he wipes the sticky sauce off his arms.
Mikey slows down a bit, but continues to eat like a feral creature, tearing the bread apart with his teeth and using his hands to hold the food down. He follows each pancake with two slices of bacon, chewing loudly and growling in contentment between bites.
Leo grimaces at the sight.
"Mikey, bud, maybe try eating with your mouth closed?"
Mikey stops suddenly and looks up at him, a pancake dangling from his jaw and his entire face covered brown with molasses. Casey has to turn away to keep from laughing at the sight. Mikey slowly muches the pancake back up into his mouth, and tries chewing with it closed.
"Better," Leo says with a weak smile.
The boys continue breakfast, Mikey watching the others and how they eat to get an understanding of what to do. He sees the silverware being handled, how there is an unused fork and knife by his dish. He picks the fork up slowly. It feels awkward in his hand, his fingers are too long for it now. His hands can't remember how to hold it properly. He fumbles with it, pressing it against the pancake, stabbing it several times and trying to lift it up to his mouth. He is utterly offended when the pancake falls off the fork and splats on the plate again, splattering drops of syrup across his plastron.
Mikey grumbles softly, discarding the fork and going back to just using his hands and teeth to eat with.
He knows they are watching him struggle. He knows they won't say anything just yet. He knows that they feel just as uncomfortable watching him try to eat as he feels being watched.
Ten minutes later, Raph and Leo's phones ding. Donnie is ready for them.
Mikey quickly gets wiped down and then walked back to Donnie's lab, where he has apparently set up a whole CT scanner. Mikey stares at the big machine with anxiety.
"Mikey, this is the last test for today, I promise," Donnie says, smiling kindly at him. "Nothing else after this one. It will only take 15 minutes, won't hurt you at all, you don't even have to do anything other than just lay still for a bit. You can even take a nap in there, if you want."
"When did you build this?" Leo asks, running his hand along the machine's mouth and peering inside.
"A long while back... after the whole incident with the mind-reprogramulator..."
"The what?"
"Nevermind. I've definitely not been scanning your brains on occasion when you were asleep. Mikey, can you handle this one last test for me? All I'm gonna do is look at your brain for any injuries or traumas," Donnie asks, kneeling down to look his little brother in the eyes.
Mikey stares at the machine nervously. He signs at Donnie.
'Safe?'
"Perfectly safe," Donnie promises. "Can you do it?"
Mikey doesn't sign back, but moves over to the machine, jumping up and crawling inside.
"I'll take that as a yes," Donnie mumbles, going to help adjust Mikey's position for the scan to work properly.
"Just lie back nice and easy and try to relax. You can listen to music while you wait if that helps," Donnie offers.
Mikey reaches his hands out and signs 'yes please'. Leo grabs the headset for him and lets Mikey choose what music to listen to.
Fifteen minutes of silence go by. Mikey does eventually fall asleep, the early rise compounded by the profuse sobbing from earlier having exhausted him, and the music is the icing on the cake. Once they hit the ten minute mark, Mikey's eyes slip shut. By the thirteenth minute, he's snoring softly.
Donnie's monitor beeps at him, a black and white image of Mikey's brain showing up on the screen.
"Okay, here we go..." Donnie says with a deep exhale, rolling his chair over and studying the scan thoroughly.
"Well?" Leo asks, leaning over his twin. "Survey says?"
Donnie is quiet for some time, hands folded under his chin as he makes certain of what the machine has deduced. He points to an area of the brain with a slightly whiter marking filling the grey matter.
"See this area here?" he says softly. "The white means he's had head trauma."
"The white?" Raph repeats. "Donnie... there's a heck of a lot of white on that scan."
"I know. Look at these markings here," he says, pointing around the image to several parts of Mikey's brain that are slightly discoloured. "These indicate electrical injury."
"...Electrical?" Leo questions, his tone irritated and voice hot with anger.
"Yes," Donnie says, his tone also getting quite unhappy. "Electrical injury. I'm going to kill every one of those TCRI dunderheads..."
"Donnie," Raph says sternly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "The injuries aren't permanent, right?"
"There... there is some slight scarring," Donnie answers quietly. "But it should heal. Leo would know better."
"With Draxum's mutations making us virtually indestructible and quick-healing, I'd say he'll be fine," Leo says with a nod after giving the scan a once-over. "But the scars do affect his brain with things like short term memory... probably why he doesn't remember much about his captivity," Leo works out.
"So, he's got amnesia basically?" Raph asks.
"No, not amnesia, just head injuries," Donnie clarifies. "It's a symptom of any kind of trauma. It could be he blocked the memories... or if I am correct about the dissociative identity disorder, then he wasn't fully cognizant when certain things occurred -- almost like sleepwalking. Or, it's possible that the contusions he received knocked them loose, in a manner of speaking," Donnie suggests. "He has the memories, but can't access them yet. As time goes by and he heals properly, the memories will find their places and he'll be better."
"There have been all kinds of stories about this kind of thing," Leo chimes in, "where someone was in a car wreck and forgot everything -- even how to talk or eat or read, and needed to relearn their whole life from scratch. As time passed on, they got better and eventually their memories returned."
"Exactly," Donnie concurs. "It happens all the time with trauma patients. So I'm sure Mikey will be fine..."
Raph hears the hesitation again. He squeezes Donnie's shoulder. Donnie places his hand over Raph's, patting it in recognition of the comfort.
"So... what do we do in the meantime?" Raph asks.
"I can look up a list of ways to treat memory loss," Donnie says, quickly typing on the computers. "Or you guys can take over on that while I work on the anti-mutation cure."
"I can handle it," Leo volunteers. "No prob, bob. No problem, Boblem. No probert, Robert. No 'probbles' at all."
Donnie rolls his eyes, which are starting to look rather bloodshot. Raph doesn't let that go unnoticed.
"Dee, maybe you should get some rest now..."
"I'll be fine," he refutes, pushing Raph's hand off his shoulder. "I just need to work on a few things and then I'll take a siesta..."
"Don, seriously, you promised --"
An alert from the computer interrupts Raphael's scoldings. Donnie pulls up the security feed from the surroundings of the lair.
"April has arrived," he announces. "...Let's go break the news to her."

Well it was a matter of time before I made a self insert specifically for BTAS. I was NOT expecting to be a villain though-
In Hopeverse I'm just a normal person FDHKJFH AND LIKE a bunch of the villains are retired/reformed and all that so this is a fun what if scenario for me!!!
I think similar backstory as the Hopeverse Batman s/i, she's an actress in a loveless marriage… this time she just, also becomes a villain I guess lmao
Hope Foley, actress for romance films, aka Heartstealer! She fucks with people's emotions. The hearts in her hair are actually like little smoke bombs with different emotional effects that she can throw
Extremely borderline and unhinged, but super mild-mannered and soft spoken when not in villain mode
EDIT: FORGOT MY OWN FUCKING TAGLIST
@goldenworldsabound @cj-furry-shipper @literally-just-there @cometchasinglove @disabledbears

Adding to the AU where Heart gets locked in Apathy and Mind and Soul reform into Whole without him,,
I think Whole would experience a sort of Ego-death (permanent loss of attachment to a separate sense of self/complete loss of subjective self identity).
Ego is essentially your sense of self (which is more Soul than Heart but there is also an emotional relation to it)
I feel like without his emotions/Heart, Whole would be very apathetic (ironically), and almost heartless? As in, without his theoretical heart, he wouldn't be very sympathetic, and would push away the people in his life. Which is not that differant from original cccc Whole (and CJ in The Before especially, which I'm pretending is the same person storyline-wise) but obviously it would be alot more of a detrimental situation for all four of them and effectively spark a major depressive episode.
This would also be factored in: ( @paleduck0000 's thoughts on it)
Tumblr media
So not just complete emotionless Whole, just, fucked the hell up and all over the place.
Soul would also be affected, since he's kind of a stripped down version of Whole, I feel like the state of Heart and Mind also effect him. So having Heart locked away, rotting in Apathy for so long- an entire loop most likely- he would get a little funky to say the least.
Plot wise, I feel like it would be really interesting to make Mind the one who eventually releases Heart. At first he would enjoy finally ruling alone with Soul and having his "enemy" officially out if the picture, but it would have its cost. Everything would go to shit eventually; Soul is incapacitated in some sense and the only way to save Whole is to set Heart free. So Mind, whether sincerely or reluctantly, releases Heart of his own accord.
Heart would probably be in almost a worse state than Soul/Whole, depending on the laws of the headspace and how I envision Apathy and its effects (which I have a pretty good idea of based on the other fics I've written). But yeah probably also half dead. Fun for everyone involved!
(I'll also definitely include cane-user Soul if I write this, and other little headcanons I've had over time)
That's all for now, I'll write this one day....eventually....maybe....

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Police Department uses excessive force and discriminates against Black people, according to the findings of a U.S. Department of Justice investigation launched after the beating death of Tyre Nichols after a traffic stop in 2023.
A report released Wednesday marked the conclusion of the investigation that began six months after Nichols was kicked, punched and hit with a police baton as five officers tried to arrest him after he fled a traffic stop.
The report says that “Memphis police officers regularly violate the rights of the people they are sworn to serve.”
“The people of Memphis deserve a police department and city that protects their civil and constitutional rights, garners trust and keeps them safe,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in an emailed statement.
The city said in a letter released earlier Wednesday that it would not agree to negotiate federal oversight of its police department until it could review and challenge results of the investigation.
City officials had no immediate comment on the report but said they plan to hold a news conference Thursday after Justice Department officials hold their own news conference in Memphis on Thursday morning to address the findings.
Police video showed officers pepper spraying Nichols and hitting him with a Taser before he ran away from a traffic stop. Five officers chased down Nichols and kicked, punched and hit him with a police baton just steps from his home as he called out for his mother. The video showed the officers milling about, talking and laughing as Nichols struggled with his injuries.
Nichols died on Jan. 10, 2023, three days after the beating. The five officers — Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin, Desmond Mills Jr. and Justin Smith — were fired, charged in state court with murder, and indicted by a federal grand jury on civil rights and witness tampering charges.
Nichols was Black, as are the former officers. His death led to national protests, raised the volume on calls for police reforms in the U.S., and directed intense scrutiny towards the police department in Memphis, a majority Black city. The Memphis Police Department is more than 50 percent Black, and police chief Cerelyn “CJ” Davis is also Black.
The report specifically mentions the Nichols case, and it addresses the police department’s practice of using traffic stops to address violent crime. The police department has encouraged officers in specialized units, task forces, and on patrol to prioritize street enforcement, and officers and community members have described this approach as “saturation,” or flooding neighborhoods with traffic stops, the report said.

CJ Sansom
Lawyer turned novelist who enjoyed huge success with his bestselling Shardlake historical mysteries
The novelist CJ Sansom, who has died aged 71, saw the dream of many aspiring writers come true when in mid-career he swapped a routine occupation for the life of a widely acclaimed, chart-topping novelist. By 2020, the former lawyer’s Shardlake historical mysteries had sold almost 4m copies. He built up a fan-base vast enough to guarantee that a new title would enter the UK bestseller charts at number one.
Sansom’s switch, however, was no lucky break but the fruit of deep thought, hard work and struggle against stiff odds. He overcame the blight of intense early suffering to create a much-loved series of novels conspicuous for their intelligence, integrity and humanity. An underlying idealism united the two, very different, halves of his professional life.
His debut novel Dissolution (2003) introduced the hunchbacked Tudor lawyer Matthew Shardlake, who investigates a death at a Sussex monastery menaced by the assault on England’s religious orders led by Henry VIII’s chief minister, Thomas Cromwell. Over the next decade, further Shardlake titles appeared, and succeeded, at regular intervals: Dark Fire (2004), which won the Crime Writers’ Association award for historical fiction, Sovereign (2006), Revelation (2008), Heartstone (2010) and Lamentation (2014), with a plot set in the paranoid, heresy-hunting atmosphere of London during the final act of Henry VIII’s reign.
Set in London, Sussex, Norwich, Portsmouth and York, the books map not just the topographies but the mentalities of mid 16th-century England. They indirectly mirror, too, the political ferments of Sansom’s own age: Heartstone sees a spin-obsessed king unleash a disastrous foreign war. The seventh Shardlake novel, Tombland, its writing delayed by the author’s serious illness, appeared in 2018.
He claimed that the character of Shardlake, the Lincoln’s Inn lawyer disfigured from childhood, dropped into his head “fully formed”. Shardlake finds himself reluctantly immersed in the cruel and devious political intrigues of the 1530s and 40s. He remains a reflective outsider who seeks to help those bruised or crushed by the upheavals of an age of tumult. His disability gives him solidarity with outcast people.
In an interview, Sansom once spoke of the depression left by his early anguish as “the monkey on my back all my life”. The connection with his series hero could hardly be clearer.
Shardlake is both a man of his times – all the books rest on a bedrock of thorough, sometimes original, historical research – and a credible proxy for the 21st-century reader in the dogma-driven era of Henry VIII and his heirs. Sceptical, curious, free-thinking, he has sympathy with the Protestant reformers but feels alienated from the savage realpolitik practised by his patron, Cromwell.
Shardlake dwells in a sharply rendered, richly detailed Tudor England but stands outside it by virtue of his inquisitive, open-minded humanism. “I’m not saying a man like Shardlake did exist then,” Sansom commented, “but he could have, where even 20 years earlier he couldn’t.”
Born in Edinburgh, Chris was the son of a Scottish mother, Ann, and English father, Trevor, a naval engineer. An only child, he remembered his upbringing as Presbyterian, constrained and conservative (“with a small and a capital C”). Later, this private man who shunned attention-seeking gestures would nonetheless emerge as a vehement opponent of Scottish nationalism – part of his general distrust of any “politics based on national identity”, which he found “anti-rational, demagogic” and always destructive.
His Shardlake novels depict the dilemmas and ordeals that face a sensitive, compassionate man in a brutal and treacherous society. Sansom’s own, formative experience of persecution and survival under a despotic system took place at school. At the elite George Watson’s college in south Edinburgh, he endured sustained bullying that left him on the brink of suicide. Much later, he revealed that his “inattention” – which today might be diagnosed as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – had made him the scapegoat of “vicious” teachers and pupils alike.
He described his school-age self as “seriously mentally ill: completely isolated … consumed with rage, plagued by migraines and tormented by thoughts of suicide and burning down the school”. At the age of 15, he took a “massive” overdose of his mother’s sleeping pills. Despite, or perhaps because of, this teenage misery, he developed a profound interest in history, politics and the workings of state power that would fuel both wings of his career. While still young, he recalled, “I arrived in my head at a sort of radical, independent socialist position which … I’ve basically retained.”
Sansom’s harrowing schooldays led to a spell as a voluntary in-patient at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. “I think the staff there saved my life,” he remembered, “just as Watson’s almost destroyed it.”
At Birmingham University he studied history as an undergraduate, then stayed on to research a PhD on mid-century Labour party policy towards South Africa. Rather than continue with academia, however, he qualified as a solicitor and spent much of the 1980s and 90s devoted to legal aid work, seeking to help vulnerable people. Living in Brighton, he attended writers’ groups as a hobby but never considered literature as a means to earn his living.
In 2000, his father’s death left him with a small legacy. He decided, without much hope, to try his hand at full-time fiction, though allowed for the possibility that: “I would be back in the law within the year.”
To his surprise, Dissolution rapidly found an agent. Publishers bid eagerly for the title (with Pan Macmillan becoming his UK home). Inspired in part by Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose, it reached two prize shortlists, and won over not only crime-fiction fans but a broad span of readers fascinated by the Tudor period and the distant mirror it holds up to our own fragmented times. Sansom had discovered, as he said, “how like the 20th century it was in its anxiety and uncertainty, even though people thought so differently then”.
Dissolution preceded Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall by six years in its portrayal of Cromwell and his circle – although Sansom’s chief minister is a much darker figure than Mantel’s. Among authors of historical mysteries set in medieval or early-modern England, he became a rare male luminary in a genre dominated by women, from pioneers such as Ellis Peters (Edith Pargeter) to Sansom’s contemporaries, such as Susanna Gregory.
Over the next decade, the Shardlake titles became regular fixtures in the bestseller lists. Adapted versions for BBC Radio extended the books’ appeal, even though Sansom – who continued to live in Brighton – experienced more than a touch of imposter syndrome. “I still half expect to wake up in a meeting about the latest legal aid forms,” he once said.
His mass-market popularity won him some unlikely fans. Shortly before she resigned in 2019, the then prime minister Theresa May bizarrely inaugurated a miniature library (housed in a redundant phone box) in her constituency by donating her copy of one of Sansom’s books. No figure, and no event, could have been worse suited to a writer who believed in a properly-funded public sector and detested the politics of nationalism and xenophobia.
Sansom’s two non-Tudor novels proved the breadth of his talent: Winter in Madrid (2006), with its accomplished depiction of a captive nation, set in the Spanish capital during the gloomy aftermath of Franco’s victory in the civil war, and the remarkable Dominion (2012), which reanimates the hackneyed genre of counterfactual history with its chillingly believable account of Britain as a satellite state of Nazi Germany in 1952. “Given the right circumstances fascism can infest any country,” a character in Dominion remarks.
That novel presents Scottish nationalists as accomplices of fascism and ends with an afterword that excoriates the policies of the (actual) Scottish National party. In all Sansom’s books, history’s convulsions test thinking people who try to stay decent and honest in tough times. He acknowledged that he had “found myself particularly drawn to the moral dilemmas the literate classes often find themselves in at times of ideological conflict – whether Reformation England or the second world war”.
In 2012, Sansom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable bone-marrow cancer, and began to receive chemotherapy. Lamentation followed two years later, but medical treatment inevitably slowed his pace of work.
Yet the voluminous Tombland, published in 2018, proved one of the most richly imagined and researched of all his Tudor mysteries. Shardlake is caught up in the wave of rebellions that shake the realm of the boy-king Edward VI in 1549: “A colossal event that has been much underplayed”, in the author’s words. The typically scholarly essay attached to the book framed this emphasis on poor and marginal people as an overdue antidote to “the ‘royalisation’ of popular Tudor history.
Sansom lived quietly in Brighton, on his own, and worked with a fierce dedication. Illness put a brake on his output but never doused his determination. He avoided the limelight, and once listed among his pet hates Facebook, Twitter and Christmas – as well as the “really ridiculous” television series, The Tudors.
In 2023 Sovereign, the third Shardlake novel, was staged by York Theatre Royal as a large-scale community production at King’s Manor, York, where much of the novel is set. A four-part television adaptation, Shardlake, directed by Justin Chadwick with Arthur Hughes as the eponymous lawyer and Sean Bean as Cromwell, is due to be screened on Disney+ this week.
A good man in trying times, his Shardlake became a firm friend to countless admirers. Erudite but approachable, his creator spoke engagingly about his work in a voice that bore soft traces of an Edinburgh upbringing. Above all, the one-time solicitor ceased never to explore the meaning of justice – or to tell timeless truths about power and its victims.

Can't WAIT to see how you mess up your current scheme, or what new way you'll debase yourself just to cling to life a little bit longer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My current scheme is going along right on schedule, actually. The Sandblasters discovered that the prototype directed magnetic beam I was building them to solve their little nearby legionnaire problem was a dud, and I've kept the working model for myself. Thanks for all the materials, suckers! I've made an entire starter army of robots and it's time to bail.
They'll discover my network of underground tunnels far too late to catch me.
Although, I'd prefer to not cut escapes so close in the future, fetal positioning inside of my ant lion robot while it burrowed out of the city wasn't exactly fun.
I've got a message backlog, I'll answer some of the shorter ones, I've some time right now:
Anonymous asked:
Strange but true- in at least one zone, YOUR first name is 'Julian'. Weird, no?
What is Robotnik's first name there? Is it just Ivo? Does he not have a middle name there? And what the heck is MY middle name there?
On the subject of names, did you know Colin means "whelp"? Cool name, dad, way to pass that on.
One person in my life had the solution of calling me CJ which I actually kind of liked.
Anonymous asked:
Given your reputation in the world, how do you intend to attract others to your cause?
They'll know a good thing when they see it.
Anonymous asked:
So what drew you to go work for your uncle to begin with??
Ironically I wanted to escape military service. Also he seemed okay back then.
Anonymous asked:
If you could find a reformed version of your uncle, would you work for him?
No.
Anonymous asked:
Wow. From being the punching bag of one big fat machinist with anger issues to another. Some things truly ARE constant, huh?
Well, I'm small and there's tons of these people out there. It's ok, I'm faster than them and smarter.
Anonymous asked:
When you used reprogrammed the ultimate annihilator to kill your uncle. Why didn’t you also have it kill the freedom fighters also. That way no one could stop you from ruling Mobius.
Because that sounds incredibly boring to me. Also, it's just funny that they owe their lives to me. Do you think they ever think about that? In the middle of the night, just wake up like "Wow. Pretty wacky!" I hope so. But, I doubt they ever think about me at all.

What would you say is the worst way that you’ve been injured?
I believe I mentioned that time my arm popped off. Factories are dangerous, kids! I've been stabbed, had various bones broken, shot with so so many lasers, been roboticized, but that arm thing was the worst. Having concussions isn't fun either, I would not recommend it.

Now, Draxum? He knew the turtles were special yes, he specifically created them to be the most powerful warriors who ever lived. Even so, he had never expected just how powerful and special the boys are! He knew they'd be great because of the DNA that was spliced with them and the formula he used, and for much of hia early interactions with them he had attributed their success to that (and he'd be right in regards to early s1 turtles), but I don't think he expected them to have mystic powers of their own.
My evidence comes into the fact that he actively states he had not known about the Hamato ninpo and the fact that beforehand, they had just been normal turtles before mutation. While that can be said of any of their enemies, there is a distinct difference between the Hamstos' mystic powers and those of the mutants. The mutants only had either bee outing abilities of either their human selves or their animal mutations enhanced, with Ghost Bear and Todd as the only exception I can think of. The Hamatos have powers going well beyond what a human or turtle is capable of. I e pect thay the reason there were 4 mystic weapons in Draxum's Vault with powers in 4 distinct colors and the favt he was completely unsurprised they had the powers they did also comes I to play as well. One weapon with special powers for each turtle to use.
So Draxum expected his turtles to be a success but was completely blindsided by how much of a success they were when they were continuously able to escape him and ruin his plans with seemingly very little formal training, but that was attributed to his design more than anything. When he was redeamed and learned of the Hamato family legacy, he attributed their skill with mystic powers and eventually the ability to use powers without a weapon or summon said weapon from their souls as an attribute inherited form Splinter.
Then Mikey opened a dimensional portal with his bare hands and CJ got sent back in time.
Draxum would be flabbergasted as a dimensional portal is am impossibility of unreal levels, and the fact that his youngest son was capable of such and survived was a miracle! Even more so when he discovered that within Mikey is the potential to travel through time! He is highly impressed with the matter as while the Hamato DNA and his formula may have aided in the endeavor, there is no questioning on the abilities Mikey has now unlocked being his own deep potential with mystic power as an individual. He chocks it up as a one time thing tho since there's no way in hell such a rare and powerful ability as what Mikey is capable of is more than a one off exception.
And then he gets his suspicions about Leo being a seer confirmed. The ability to see into the future isn't as unheard of as time travel itself, but it is just as rare and impressive as an ability, especially with how detailed Leo's dreams are once they're able to catch and record them.
Draxum realizing how powerful those boys really are like this is kind of hilarious because by now he's pretty reformed, but the thought that had he would have been unstoppable if he actually was able to keep them as his warriors, would definitely cross his mind.
Thank you!

Detectives in the Roaring Twenties (Part 1);
Tumblr media
Au of my Disney Descendants Badun Detective Agency Au.
This based loosely on @panthera-tigris-venenata 1920s au.
The characters are aged up here like in that au but there are many differences between her au and mine, but hers is still very good so go check it out. Trigger Warnings: Child abuse, PTSD, Child Death, Child Murder, Gang/Mob Activity, violence, illness, murder, child endangerment, etc.
🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍
Yzla Sorcerer of Enchania:
Tumblr media
Her mother’s side of the family sells stuff (don’t ask or they might have to kill you) and her father is a reformed criminal (not that anyone knows that) who comes from an influential family of inventors and scientists (to which he is as well).
Yes, her mother runs a gang.
She’s the second youngest of her family—beat out by only Zevon.
She has two older cousins on her mom’s side named ‘Zim’ and ‘Zam’ who are her mom’s right hands after her former one (Kronk) left for greener pastures.
She also has one other cousin from her dad’s side named ‘Calista’ who lends her the chemicals required for her experiments and forgeries.
Yzla also used to have an older brother named, Lil Yaz, but he died from the Spanish Flu not long after sending her Harriet Hook’s way (she was a friend of his that he met abroad) so that she could find her own path.
She grew up in the city of Kuzcovia (where her mother grew up) before her family was forced to move after the “mysterious” death of her grandma, Azma. Which caused them to have to move to her father’s hometown of Enchancia.
She was seven at the time and resided there until she moved shortly before her brother’s death when she was 18. After she arrived, Harriet pointed her to the Badun Detective Agency (which, at the time, only consisted of the Badun cousins) who were struggling to get a permit and certificate so that they could get it going.
She may or may not have forged said documents for them after applying for a position in their company.
She is the codebreaker of the agency and is handy with a knife.
She has a pet cat named ‘Stardust’ and a crow named ‘Mayhem’.
Before Yzla moved to Auradon City, she thought that she would never find a life companion because she had trouble finding a man who would love her for her and who didn’t immediately leave after discovering how bad at cooking and cleaning she was. But after moving and joining the Badun Detective Agency, she met Reza—Reza, who didn’t care that she couldn’t cook or clean. Reza, who was interested in her.
The pair have been dating ever since.
He also helps her with making her poisons without batting an eye or acting wary around her.
In her free time, she does ballet and studies astrology when she isn’t helping Reza with his experiments.
Yzla is twenty three years old currently and mentoring Chloe Charming, Red Hearts, and Edith ‘Edie’ Olympian—and how she ended up mentoring one of the richest people in town’s children, she has no clue.
But she’s not complaining because she is used to pulling dumbasses (I.e Zevon and her two older cousins) out of whatever trouble they find themselves in.
She is very good at playing innocent and because of this, no one suspects what kind of trouble she is capable of.
She does have a body count but won’t specify how high or what kind it is—and she and Reza both like changing up the answer whenever anyone asks. They find the reactions amusing.
Yzla wears mainly gold and opal jewelry as they are her favorite.
Her younger brother, Zevon, is twenty two and is somehow involved with black widow, CJ Hook, and jazz musician (and con artist and possible cult leader) Freddie Facilier. Somehow, though, he almost always ends up being the only one needing to get bailed out after one of their schemes.
Zim and Zam ALSO tend to get in trouble that they need to be bailed out of while their friends (Hunter and Ivy de Vil as well as James Brown Jr, Gordon Dwarf-Fae, and Eliza Fae) almost always end up escaping from said trouble. Much to her exasperation.
She just wants some peace but knows she's not going to get it so she just rolls with it.
She has a B.D.A Magnifying Glass tattoo on her left wrist that she got after she joined the B.D.A
Oh and she has jagged, thin scars on her hands from when a bowl shattered in her hands when she was trying to brew moonshine in her mom's lab (her cousins lied about what was in it thinking she wouldn't actually try and brew it) back when she was seventeen.
She has many skills including but not limited to  Codebreaking, Potion Brewing, Safe Breaking, Forgery, Stealth, Weapon hiding, knife throwing, and tracking people down.
She has been known as The Good Cop, Detective Yzla, and the Code Breaker, and she knows many languages. Peruvian Spanish, Greek, Romani, Scottish Gaelic, English, Ciazarn, Arabic, and Latin to be exact.
Hermione 'Hermie' Bing:
Tumblr media
Her father was the Ringmaster known as Maximillian Bing and owner of the most famous circus in the world, and her mother was one of his performers—one who played the part of the human mermaid before giving birth to her and passing away (who was known as Miss Atlantis).
For the first seven years of her life, Hermie traveled the world and performed in her father's circus until it went bankrupt—causing him to kill himself and leaving her an orphan.
After this, she was taken in by one of her father's old coworkers and became a child actor until she eventually got black listed from Hollywood when she was 18.
She was blacklisted because she punched several big names in Hollywood for getting handsy with her.
After that, she got back in touch with an old friend of hers—Jace, who's mother was the strong woman in her father's circus—and became a secretary (and honorary detective) for his totally legit and legal Detective Agency.
She is in a relationship with the informant/spy of the agency—Eddie Balthazar—and she is bestfriends with Yzla Sorcerer.
Who may or not be committing art forgery constantly (which Hermie may or may not be a participant in. Not that she'll ever admit to it).
Oh and she and Eddie are now engaged.
Hermie also has a horde of mice and rats named 'Peanut, Caramel, Cotton Candy, Funnel Cake, Corndog, Twizzler, and Popcorn' and even more mental health issues, though the latter of which could be said about the other agency members as well.
Hermie is also the reluctant guardian of Sabina and Lazarus Stromboli after their dad (who had been a part of her father's circus) wrote her asking for a favor after he got into some legal trouble. Which somehow led to her reluctantly mentoring Lazarus when he showed interest in being a detective.
And then she ended up finding a feral child in a traveling circus's cage with hyenas who went by Zuri Crocuta, who ended up becoming another protégé of hers.
Then she somehow ended up mentoring a kid from the other side of the tracks named Danny Darling—and she still hasn't figured out how.
Hermie and the other agents live in the multi-roomed flat above the Badun Detective Agency office.
She uses the many, many abilities she learned in the circus to her advance and has become a bit of a master of disguise—which has become one of her roles in the agency when she's on the field and not doing secretary work.
She's good at hiding weapons in ridiculous places, Juggling, acrobatics, Contortion, Tumbling, Stilts, Flying trapeze, Poi, Knife throwing, Aerial hoop, Cloud swing, Hoop Diving, Trick riding, Static trapeze, Sword swallowing, Slacklining, Aerial silk, Acrobalance, filing, acting, accent mimicry, animal charming, and disguising herself among other things.
Hermie wears very colorful clothing and has a very loud personality—causing many to find her a bit odd. Which she uses to her advance since it usually causes people to underestimate her.
Her favorite food is State Fair Cream Puffs and her favorite drink is a sidecar.
She loves murder mystery dinner parties.
Her favorite dance is The Charleston.
Her favorite song is 'Let’s Misbehave' by Irving Aaronson and His Commanders. Though a close favorite is the 'Thunder and Blazes' by Louis-Philippe Laurendeau.
She has exactly one photo of her parents that is not a poster that she takes with her everywhere she goes.
She can also only cook upside down pineapple cake without giving those who eat it food poisoning.
She also only eats circus-y food, which adds to her eccentric aesthetic that everyone but her seems to notice.
She is 20 years old and has been the guardian of the Stromboli Siblings for two years.
Oh and she a clown nose birthmark on the back of the left shoulder and a B.D.A magnifying glass tattoo on her left wrist.
Hermie also has a party hat shaped scar on her right palm that she got after landing on an oddly shaped rock after a bad back flip.
She uses the phrase 'the bees knees' a lot.
Due to growing in the circus and growing up an actress, she knows several languages—including but not limited to Ciazarn, Pig Latin, Scottish Gaelic, Romani, and English.
She once got injured by slipping on a banana peel off the docks. Eddie fished her out.
She has been known as The Girl With A Thousand Faces, The Ringmaster, The Secretary, The File Keeper, Detective Hermie, The Clown, The Human Mermaid, and The Master Of Disguise.
Edmund 'Eddie' Balthazar:
Tumblr media
His father an elderly butler for a rich, widowed aristocrat until he was fired over inheritance issues (she left everything to her cats and little to him) and his mom was an elderly, disowned hermit who was a stay at home mom in her older years and an opera singer in her youth.
He grew up in poverty because of this, which only worsened when his father broke his hip when Eddie was nine— causing Eddie to have to get a job in a factory to support his family (since his mom's memory was starting to go).
When he was 17, his dad died leaving Eddie to care for his mother who no longer remembered who he was. His mom died two years later which caused his drinking and smoking to spiral out of control.
After that, he joined the Badun Detective Agency when his old friend, Harry Badun, reached out to him. He met Hermie Bing not long after and the two of them started dating.
They are now engaged.
He works for the agency as the informant, rat, and spy, and often comes off as apathetic and narcoleptic.
He lives in the multi-roomed flat above the Badun Detective Agency office along with Hermie and the other agents.
He also has several pet cats named 'Flea, Blech, Snot, Fur Ball, TapeWorm, and Mange' who also live there.
And he is now mentoring Miriam Monroe, Panos Imp, and Everlee D'Aquire—and he has absolutely no clue how he got to this point but he also isn't complaining about it….. too much, anyway…
He is 21 years old.
He smokes cigars mostly and drinks whatever alcohol he can get his hands on since it’s prohibition—and he is not subtle about it at all. He has drunk a bottle of whiskey in front of a whole squad of police officers before while looking one of them straight in the eye (he didn’t like that one because of how disrespectful the man was towards both Hermie and the kids the agency mentors due to things they cannot control).
He, unsurprisingly, was arrested. This did not stop him from doing it again. And again. And again.
Eddie has also fallen asleep while in the middle of a conversation with the officers before (he respects very, very, very few of them). More than once, actually.
He has had several jobs before and because of this he has a lot of skills—including the knowledge of how to unclog various machines with his bare hands, how to fix up a car, what will cause a machine to explode, how to cut hair, how to cook, and various other things.
His favorite meal to make is shrimp cocktails, Salmon Mousse Cups, and Oysters Rockefeller but he doesn’t get to make it often.
His favorite song that he knows by heart is ‘Let’s Misbehave’ by Irving Aaronson and his Commanders. He sings it to Hermie often ‘cause it’s her favorite song too.
His favorite game is ping pong since they have a ping pong table in the office but he also enjoys a good game of Coppit.
He has a posh accent and can talk all prim and proper before dropping a swear out of nowhere—shocking people. He takes great pleasure in it. Especially when it makes Hermie or the kids laugh.
He is a big fan of jazz.
He uses the saying ‘the cat’s meow’ a LOT. It earns him a lot of eyerolls.
He knows everything about everyone. But people don’t tend to know this and tend to think that he learned it from Harry (who people call a stalker) but that’s not the case.
Eddie has often been known to describe Hermie as ‘a real doll’, ‘slick’, and ‘the cat’s meow’.
Oh and he hates Everlee’s dad and does everything in his power to keep the kids (and his friends) away from him. Everlee often runs to him when she needs to get away from her pa (who is a right bastard in Eddie’s opinion). Eddie wishes he could punch him and would if he didn’t know that it would cause him to be unable to help Everlee if he did.
Also Hermie is the one who proposed to him—which is unheard of by everyone outside of the agency—and he obviously said yes because he likes how she keeps him on his toes.
He isn’t close to his mom’s family save for her great nephew (James Brown Jr, who goes by JJ) and her great niece (Lulu). He is unamused by JJ’s romantic involvement with Hunter de Vil (come on, he comes from a crime family!) and Eliza Fae (who’s aunt works for the damn mayor!).
He and Yzla often complain to one another about the trouble their cousins wind up in together, and about how they always have to bail them out. It’s therapeutic (until Jace points out how often he has to bail the two of them and the others out and shuts them up).
Eddie also loves smoking and drinking on the rooftops with various strangers and his friends as they all stare at the stars.
He is a blast to be around and doesn’t give a damn about what others think of him—and he is a very patient man. Until you hurt Hermie or anyone else he gives a shit about. Then it’s a full on fist fight where playing fair isn’t a thing.
He's also a bit of a handyman.
He fights with regular household items and gardening tools.
Eddie has a B.D.A Magnifying glass tattoo on his right wrist.
He also has a faint cat scratch scar on his nose, a dog bite scar on his neck, and several long, thin scars on his arms and legs from the various jobs he's had.
He knows nine languages—mainly bits and pieces—from all the jobs he's worked. The languages are Peruvian Spanish, Greek, Romani, Scottish Gaelic, English, Ciazarn, Arabic, French, and Latin.
He's been known as The Rat, The Informant, The Spy, The Double Agent, and Detective Eddie.
He has many skills including but not limited to Stealth, Bugging, Breaking and entering, blending in, climbing, lock picking, good at reading people, lip reading, sneaking, escaping, dodging, quick reflexes, good situational awareness, and being a good liar.
He also loves listening to music on Harry’s radio but prefers his Gramophone.
Oh and he has nephrectomy scar after organ harvesters stole his kidney after he passed out drunk.
Also Eddie is the one who found their mascot, Mystery, after hearing a rustling from a trashcan and fishing him out. The agency have had him ever since.
Reza Vizer of Agrabah:
Tumblr media
He is the biological son of a prostitute known as 'Maji' and a mob boss (and astronomer) named 'Tareq Vizer' from Agrabah City.
His mom died in childbirth and his bio dad treated him poorly for the first eight years of his life before he was murdered by a pair of mob bosses a(named Mozenrath and Sadira) as a result, who then adopted Reza.
After that, they took over Tareq's gang and merged it with their own—of which Reza is to inherit if he wishes.
He has two younger siblings named Omar (who is five years younger than him) and Alya (who is seven years younger than him) who he is very protective of. Even though he no longer lives in the same city as them.
Due to growing up in the mob, Reza has developed a certain set of very specific skills that have made him good at finding people. He also has become good at hiding body and evidence, finding evidence, and firing various guns—including the tommy gun.
He lived in Agrabah City for the first fifteen years of his life before he decided to experience the world by becoming a traveling salesman in the states—eventually winding up in Auradon City were he met the Badun Detective Agency after he was ‘arrested’ by them for ‘harassing’ several Auradon City residents while he was trying to get them to buy the vacuum cleaner he was selling.
He then pointed out that their certificate and all of their legal documents that they had hanging up on the wall were forged. Which somehow ended up with him having a job there.
Now, at twenty one years old, he works there as a detective and their resident forensics expert.
Oh and he’s dating their resident code breaker, Yzla, who he often brews poison with. In return she helps him with his experiments.
He gets along well with her entire family and the kids she is mentoring as well as the ones he is mentoring.
Oh and Reza loves taking the mickey out of Jay and Jade, who are the children of rival gangs back in Agrabah who are scouting out Auradon City.
He also may or may not have been involved with one of them at one point but he will not confirm or deny those rumors.
He also has a sort of rivalry with Carlos de Vil, who is a rival scientist and inventor (who is of course, a possible heir to the de Vil fortune and gang). Which despite what people may think, is NOT entirely one-sided.
He lives in the multi-roomed flat above the Badun Detective Agency office along with the other agents.
He is also an astronomer and a bit of a mad scientist.
He knows eleven languages—Arabic, English, Latin, Colombian Spanish, Peruvian Spanish, Greek, Chinese, Ciazarn, Romani, Scottish Gaelic, and French.
Reza has been known as The Bad Cop, The  Astronomer, Detective Reza, and The Forensics Expert.
He’s good at observation, deduction, evidence analysis, breaking and entering, and brewing poison and healing remedies.
He has a random patchwork of knowledge that often surprises people.
He has a scar in the shape of the big dipper on his right knee that he got from a constellation model he made out of needles and tripped on. He also has welt scars on his back and star birthmark on his left hip.
Oh and he has the B.D.A magnifying glass tattoo on his right wrist.
Reza (along with the rest of Badun Detective Agency) figured out a long time ago that Julieanna Fox’s Parents (Gideon and Honest John) are gay but has chosen not to say anything because he thought everyone else already knew and doesn’t really know (or care) about the law.
His favorite song is 'If You Knew Susie (Like I Know Susie)' by Eddie Cantor.
His favorite food is Parsnip & Celery Root Bisque.
His favorite drink is tea but his favorite drink is the Corpse Reviver.
His favorite dance (even though he claims not to know any) is The Shimmy.
His favorite saying is ‘Know Your Onions’ followed closely by ‘glad rags’.
He also acts in shows at the Olympian family's theater and reads lots of poetry when he has free time and doesn't feel like experimenting or making poison.
Reza is also the mentor of a mobster’s son—a boy named ‘Paro Imp’—and a mad inventor’s son—a boy named ‘Maddox Hatter’.
He occasionally works with Maddox’s father when the opportunity arises.
He takes this responsibility very seriously and is hellbent on not messing it up or endangering the kids more than necessary.
And he plans to propose to Yzla as soon as he finds the perfect ring.
He’s also an excellent lock pick and prefers typing on a typewriter over writing with a pen and paper when he has the option.
Oh and he enjoys a good train ride and a good murder mystery dinner party.
He owns various guns, throwing stars, and swords and keeps in close contact with his family because he’s very close to them.
He rides a bike around to get where he needs to because he doesn’t like driving.
Reza also gives anyone who tries to stop Yzla and the rest of the girls from voting (since it is a relatively new thing)—despite the fact he is bad at fighting.
He also takes his proteges to the picture shows weekly as a bonding exercise.
Harold 'Harry' Badun:
Tumblr media
His father—Harry Badun—is the henchman for Crime Boss, Cruella de Vil (who inherited her position from her deceased mother. Who she may or may not have murdered), and His, Helga Sinclair, mother was a tomb raider and cat burger.
He has had many stepmothers, step aunts, cousins, and paternal siblings who have died or gone missing under mysterious circumstances when they were children. Because of this, he hates Cruella de Vil with a passion and has been attempting to kill her since he was seven when his twin sister was murdered.
Out of the ten siblings he had, only three are alive—and they are the three he didn't even know existed. These three siblings are Hunter de Vil, Holiday 'Holly' Sinclair, and Helena Sinclair (Hunter is 34, Holly is 25, and Helena is 22)—who are all his maternal half siblings.
He is twenty three.
His uncle is also a henchman for Cruella and because of this, Harry and his cousin don't talk to him or Harry’s dad. They are still cool with the de Vil siblings, however.
Even the attempts on Cruella's life haven't stopped even though Harry is now twenty three and the founder of a totally 'legit' Detective Agency along with his cousin.
He is not interested in romantic or sexual relationships in the slightest and doesn't understand why people call him a ladies man.
He also knew from the moment he met Julieanna's parents that they were gay and almost gave her a heart attack when he asked how her dads were doing when she visited once.
Harry and Jace founded the Badun Detective Agency when they were 18.
He is known as the leader of the group and has been known to take his job a bit too seriously—even to the point of risking his own health and safety.
He once got in a fight to the death with Harry Hook over them sharing a name that Jace and both of their sisters had to break up. It probably helped that Cj, Harriet, and Holly are all black widows.
Harry often turns a blind eye to whatever illegal activity his mother and three remaining siblings are involved in—not wanting to get involved if he can avoid it.
He has been described as a jack of all trades due to his many skills as well as a stalker because of how intense he can be about his job.
He can often be found where the action is—drinking in front of officers and smoking pipes.
And he is also handy with a gun and has several conspiracy boards hung up all over his room.
Harry also owns SEVERAL handmade shanks—a skill he learned from the various nights in the slammer he's spent.
He once sprained his ankle jumping out of the second story window of their base hoping they'd be able to solve a case quicker—they did not.
He designed the B.D.A tattoo which he has tattooed on his right wrist.
He also has several bear traps scars on his legs that he got from living with Cruella.
Harry has various skills including but not limited to thievery, observation, deduction, stealth, improvised weapons, escape artist, tracking, impeccable aim, climbing, and researching.
He is also emotionally and perhaps mentally unstable and a flight risk who has a habit of running off on his own.
He is good at making improvised weapons and finding escape routes and is skilled at hand to hand combat and impeccable aim.
Harry also has anger issues, trust issues, and issues with respecting authority figures—which gets him in trouble quite often, especially with officers of the law.
He knows the following languages—French, English, Ciazarn, Arabic, Greek, Romani, Scottish Gaelic, and Peruvian Spanish.
Oh and he has definitely broken several laws, despite Jace telling him that he's setting a bad example for his protégés.
The protégés in question are Lada Hag and Khalil Hunterson.
He found Khalil caught in one of his own traps in the woods and he found Lada when she was attempting to poison Cruella. Lada is undoubtedly his favorite of HIS protégés (his favorite overall is Edith though) even though he won't admit it.
He has a strained relationship with his mother though he does still love her.
He also doesn't have a spleen because it was stolen by organ traffickers he was investigating. Jace was not happy to find that out.  He has a splenectomy scar from it.
His favorite  living sibling over all is Hunter.
His favorite of his siblings would be Mable, however.
Harry loves starting shit with the mayor and the local police force—even though it drinks Jace nuts.
He walks very quietly, which often startles people. He finds both of these situations very funny.
His favorite song is 'Back in Your Own Backyard' by Ruth Etting.
His favorite drink is a Warm Spiced Cider Punch followed by a corpse reviver.
His favorite meal is a Blackened Pork Caesar with a side of Cheesy Cream of Asparagus Soup and Honey Whole Wheat Rolls.
His favorite book is 'The Mysterious Affair at Styles'  by Agatha Christie, who is his favorite author.
His favorite dance is 'The Texas Tommy'  followed by 'The FoxTrot'.
He is the most lenient of the mentors and tries to bond with all of the protégés when he has time. Even when his fellow agents wish he wouldn't.
He owns a radio and listens to it as he works often—finding it relaxing.
He can also be a bit too blunt at times.
Oh and his favorite movie is 'Nosferatu'. He's taken each of the protégés to it at least once.
Also he decides that whatever the Badun Detective Agency's mascot, Mystery, has going on is not his business because he does not want to unpack just how odd that turtle is (and he may or may not be afraid that it can and will murder him in his sleep).
Hunter has kept track of all the various ways Harry (and Jace) have tried to kill Cruella. Both together and separately. Harry has tried to kill her by himself a total of ninety-five whopping times. And with Jace, he has tried to kill her thirteen times. With Helena and Holly and his mother he has tried to kill her four different times with each of them. And with Khalil and Lada, he has taken each of them to try and kill her once but stopped when his friends all tore him a new one for doing so.
Harry is still, to this day, frustrated when his various attempts on Cruella's life.
Oh and his favorite living sister is Helena because they both love guns.
He has a kill count. He will not confirm or deny a number though, because he likes watching the way the ambiguity makes people squirm. Even if Jace wishes he wouldn’t tell people about his kill count at all.
Harry has also definitely walked in on his mother during her various robberies as well as on Holiday killing her husbands. And on Helena selling weapons to shady people. And on Hunter making said weapons. But he does not get paid enough (or care enough) to arrest them.
Also he has accidentally (and literally) shot himself in the foot before. For some reason, people he brings this up to as an icebreaker do not find it nearly as amusing as he does.
Oh and he is inadvertently responsible for Elle's relationship with Jace because Edith (fed up by her aunt's attempts to set her up with someone) sent her after HIM and he sent her after Jace. And Aphrodite then set the two of them up.
Now she's trying to set Edith and Harry up with people again. Much to their dismay.
Also Harry can't look in the mirror anymore because he can't stand the fact that he's now older than his twin and it pains him.
Also he fought in the war.
Jason 'Jace' Badun:
Tumblr media
His mom was a strong woman in the Bing circus known as Katrina Stronghold and his father was a man known as Jace Badun—who like his brother, is a henchman for the de Vils.
He is the muscle and the co-founder of the Badun Detective Agency alongside his cousin, Harry.
He doesn't talk to his father or uncle due to the lack of action on their parts to stop the murders/disappearances of his mother and aunt figures as well as his cousins and siblings.
He is twenty three.
He is dating Elle, who Aphrodite set him up with.
Jace is basically the mom/dad friend who keeps everyone else alive. Being very exasperated as he does so.
But hey, can you blame him? He has seventeen protégés (nineteen if you count Sabina and Samantha), a sweet girlfriend who people like using for money, and five VERY chaotic coworkers. Two of which didn’t think to tell him that they had an organ stolen from them (Eddie and Harry).
…Needless to say, Jace is very stressed all the time when it comes to his friends.
He is a very patient man but he takes shit from no one and will beat the shit out of anyone who hurts his friends.
He drinks and smokes and has a very high pain and alcohol tolerance.
He is also very good at playing (read: cheating) at poker.
He has a nice yellow convertible.
His favorite color is brown and he is dating a rich socialite named Elle, who is the one who paid for the building that the Badun Detective Agency’s base is located in—after not liking the one he and Harry were originally gonna buy due to the building not being up to code.
He occasionally wears warpaint because he likes how it looks.
He fought in the war and is very pro-union and has taken part in several strikes.
He is good at wielding guns, shovels, shanks, and baseball bats.
He smells of a mix of rubbing alcohol, pinewood, old blood, mud, gruel, and cigarettes.
Jace enjoys helping Elle take care of her pets and loves giving her nice things even though he can’t always afford it.
He is mentoring Hadie Olympian (a big mob boss’s son), Glauco White (a rich socialite’s son), and Avalon Knightley (a corrupt cop’s daughter)—which is not at all an easy task.
He has tried to kill Cruella with Harry thirteen times and has tried to kill her by himself on six occasions. All of them obviously failed.
Jace speaks eight different languages. One of which he learned for Elle—that language is Greek.
He also has a B.D.A magnifying glass tattoo on his right wrist and his knuckles are heavily scarred from all the fights he has gotten into.
He has Impeccable aim, a great sense of empathy, and is good at weight-lifting, breaking and entering, evidence hiding, climbing, weapon improvising, profiling, and various forms of combat.
He has Shellshock from his bad childhood and the war but is still the most emotionally stable out of the group as well as the most responsible and reasonable.
Harry was in the same battalion as him.
He is stronger than average, which he likely inherited from his mother and is a people person and very helpful but is fine with being second in command compared to Harry.
He is good at covering the agency’s tracks and usually keeps track of where all his fellow agents are out of habit.
Jace also loves the agency’s mascot, Mystery, because even though he’s a weird turtle he’s good at keeping the others in line.
He has a kill count but refuses to speak of it because it depresses him.
His favorite song is Among My Souvenirs’ by Connie Francis.
His favorite drink is Ginger Rail.
His favorite meal is Italian Meatballs with Derby Hot browns and icebox cake for dessert.
His favorite book is ‘Whose Body’ by Dorothy L. Sayers.
His favorite dance is ‘the shimmy’.
He loves going to the picture shows with Elle and visits her family’s theater and their various other businesses quite often out of love.
Jace has been described as a tired but caring man on more than one occasion.
Oh and he once caught Eddie making bathtub gin and gave him shit for it because it was ‘gross’ and ‘unhygienic’.
Also he plans to purpose to Elle once he saves up for the perfect ring.
Also, he makes a good body guard (and has been acting as one on the side to earn some extra money without the others' knowledge).

tv show: the west wing
Favourite character: CJ (was there ever any doubt?) but also Danny.
Funniest character: good question! Probably Will? but also Danny, CJ and Bruno.
Best-looking character: That's subjective, but the answer is also CJ :) (Matt and Helen Santos are both smokeshows too tho)
3 favourite ships: CJ/Danny, Kate/Will... Jed/Abbey/Leo but also Matt/Helen (Josh/Donna is growing on me but I'm not there yet, and Josh/Sam is getting there...)
Least favourite character: it's cheating to say Mandy. probably Jack Reese, Donna's s4 boyfriend.
Least favourite ship: Leo/Annabeth. (but also CJ/Toby. can't believe I forgot that one).
Reason why I watch it: Found family, one of the most 'i will chew through drywall' ships of all time (CJ/Danny), politics, gives me a feeling that civic responsibility should feel like.
Why I started watching it: The answer is kind of funny. I wanted to watch it circa 2017-2018 because of Mark Harmon (NCIS fan, reformed), and then from 2018 I wanted to watch it because of Alan Alda... and then I wanted to watch it because it was supposed to be good!!!

I saw that you love sapphic fiction and the West Wing and I've just gotta ask: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president working to balance her ambitions as president (including civil rights and labor reform) with her secret sapphic relationship. She is willing to do whatever it takes (including a bearded marriage with her mlm best friend) to get what she wants and her media savvy gives me real CJ Cregg vibes. It also ft. a subplot abt arson at the White House and an entirely queer main cast, really fleshed out characters, and a really satisfying ending!
Oh hello! Thanks for submitting this. No I have not heard of that but I'm making a note of it omg that sounds so great.

Instead, there was a fearful gonging in my heart that said this was wrong, wrong, wrong
I don’t know what sense of spiritual rightness or celebration I expected... but it did not come. Instead, there was a fearful gonging in my heart that said this was wrong, wrong, wrong... I never wanted to be trapped in another space that forced me to be other than I was ever again. Never wanted any man or any house to try to reform me.

Creator Spotlight #20: worldsofdreamers
Welcome back to the TWW Author Spotlight! For every spotlight, we’ll ask each featured author the same ten questions (as well as questions you submitted on Twitter!). This week we’re sitting down with @worldsofdreamers (worldsofdreamers on ao3)!
1) What are your top 5 desert island fics by other authors?
Healthcare Reform by hufflepuffhermione This fic is one of those that had me itching to read each update as soon as the notification hit my inbox. Absolutely everything I could have wanted in a season six au and more. The angst and romance are perfectly balanced and the transition from marriage of convenience to more had me tossing my phone across the couch more than I care to admit. Captures the magic of Josh and Donna beautifully and truly just how much of a dumbass that man is when it comes to his feelings.
just stay this little by mikaylawrites a sweet fluffy filled post canon josh and donna and their babies fic. So sweet and heartwarming I cry every time I read it. Happy families are my weakness and my oh my are they happy here. The perfect pick me up fic.
Yichud by Lily_Padd_23 a short lovely Sam and Josh fic that takes place after they get married. One of the first fics I read with this pairing as I was exploring the archive in this fandom, long before I ever considered writing fanfic again or for this fandom. I really love how it captures their dynamic and the jokey, easy-going nature of their love. The way it’s clear that they are best friends and lovers is something special and reminds me so much of my own relationship. They are absolute dorks and I love them so much it hurts.
brothers in arms by hufflepuffhermione A character study of Josh that is so unbelievably gorgeous it rips your heart out and knits you back together. I reread it recently and it’s just as poignant and impactful as the first time. In my book it’s required reading for anyone who loves Josh, found family, and interconnected stories. I could go on and on about how much I love chosen family but I’ll refrain if y’all just go read this fic as soon as possible. Have tissues nearby because you’ll need them.
for every year’s a souvenir by crossingdelancey A CJ and Toby fic with some background Josh and Donna. It has everything I love in a story from The West Wing universe, chosen family, Josh being CJ’s annoying little brother, plus a second chance romance for CJ and Toby with a family to boot, and a happy ending for all of them. What more could you possibly want? Other than more that is, an absolutely stunning fic all around.
2) Do you have a favorite character to write? Favorite ship(s) to write? Are there characters or ships you'd like to write more of?
I like writing Sam a lot, he is on-screen a lot but we don’t always see into his head like we do with some of the others. He’s a good canvas to play with and create a backstory that serves for whatever story you want to tell. Plus the information we do have about him creates touchstones to build from. His complex family structure and background as a writer are something that all my narrators typically share across original and fan works so he’s very easy for me to fall into writing. The typical advice is write what you know after all (even if I don’t particularly think that’s great advice all the time).
Currently I only write Sam/Josh and that’s really fun for me but once this story cycle reaches a logical conclusion I’m open to writing other pairings if the right idea comes along. I find the dynamic between Toby and Congresswoman Wyatt fascinating, especially in my current watch through of the series.
3) Tell us about your writing process (setup/location? Night or day? Snacks/beverages? Computer/phone/notebook? Music or silence? Anything else you want to share is welcome!)
Generally my ideal writing circumstances are the same when it comes to original fiction or fanfiction. Block out all the noise around me with noise canceling headphones and a character playlist. As someone with ADHD it’s vital to be able to tune into what I'm doing with as little outside distraction as possible. I use google docs for the actual story because I can write and edit on multiple devices without having to worry about flash drives and then physical notes in a designated book depending on the project. I have to have music, at least two beverages, usually one that’s caffeinated, and if at all possible a blank wall ahead of me.
My process for West Wing fics specifically starts with watching the source material that overlaps with wherever the AU is headed and cherry picking the moments that are relevant in the larger context of this universe as well as backrought things going on in the administration. Typically this also serves as a way back to a Sorkin-esque style from my original fiction. I also make a point of tracking Sam/Josh and any other relevant characters, specifically the interactions they have with each other. I also love researching moments of real world politics both of the time the story occurs and present day and leaving them around as easter eggs for the government dorks of the world like me.
Typically there are also a few songs from my obnoxiously large music library that become the soundtrack of a piece and that’s how the “title track” comes out. With my most recent fic Secrets (Just to keep you) the title track was Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift. The whole time I was writing this story I was listening to a lot of the unreleased tracks as well as Adore You from Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson’s album Walls, and Taylor Swift’s reputation which just beautifully fit the feeling of a secret love that you’re desperately trying to keep under wraps, the heat and tension that bubbles over when you’re finally alone with that person and the secrets we all carry around.
 4) What writing advice do you have for others who may be reading this?
You can’t force inspiration or at least I can’t. She sort of just comes to you, I've found the more I read, listen to, and watch the more she finds me.
At least that’s what happened when I considered writing in this fandom. I’d just watched Season 1 episode 19 Let Bartlet Be Bartlet the night before and was in the car on the way to get groceries or something and was listening to the Harry Styles and the line “Kiss her and don’t tell” from his song Keep Driving got stuck and all through the store I was thinking about that episode and what would change if we as the audience knew Sam was bisexual and had this unexplored history of allyship? Why was he the one in the room with the guys from the DOD taking the meeting about DADT? It sort of snowballed from there into a character study in my notes app and then a fic of the same name came out.
 5) From where do you usually draw your inspiration? (Other forms of media, music, tropes, etc?)
Usually fleeting moments in the canon mixed with a song lyric and the question what if?
Sam and Josh having a cat that Josh is at odds with in my universe came from the line about Josh yelling at Donna’s roommate’s cats. It made my partner laugh the first time we watched the series together and now every time the line comes up he brings it up.
The whole idea of exploring a long term relationship between Josh and Sam has been ping ponging around for years in my mind because of the interactions they have at Gage-Whitney and on the street outside.
I’ve been a fan of the show for nearly two decades so I have a lot of history with the characters and there are sometimes when a song just clicks for them or a moment in the show.
 6) What is the fic you've written that you're most proud of and why?
Probably Secrets (just to keep you). It’s my longest fanwork to date and I really enjoyed writing a summer romance over the summer. I’m a sucker for romances that are equal parts tender and spicy and while there are things I’d change about the process I’m proud of the fact I actually put it out in the world.
 7) What's the fic trope/concept/AU you'd read 1000 of? What's the fic trope/concept/AU you'd write 1000 of?
I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers arc and a clandestine romance. I will watch or read the “oh shit… I love them” moment over and over again.
I love a second chance romance and will read or write them until the end of my days. I love exploring how you find your way back to someone who hurt you and who you also hurt. The negotiations of it and the exercise in trust it takes to open yourself up to the potential of being hurt again.
When it comes to writing I’m a big fan of stories that deep dive into the small moments in canon and attempt to bring more depth to characters.
 8) Is there anything you'd like to try writing-wise that you haven't yet?
I don’t typically write m/f main pairings in anything I do but I’d love to write something about Toby and Andy pre-canon. I think if the right idea came along it could be a really interesting character study. It would also give me the opportunity to humanize and flesh out the grumpy men of The West Wing which is one of my favorite things to do. Also I love Andy so much she always steals the scene for me.
 9) What's your go-to Starbucks/coffee shop/other drink order?
Always the largest available size of cold brew or iced coffee, with one or two packets of sweet and low. If I'm feeling fancy I add a splash of oat milk and a pump or two of cinnamon syrup.
Whenever possible, Dunkin or a mom and pop shop over Starbucks. I have chronically bad luck with Starbucks beans being burnt or my drink being undrinkable in some other way like getting dairy milk instead of plant milk. I've stopped risking it.
 10) Do you have any current projects you'd like to promote or anything upcoming you'd like to tell us about?
My ongoing AU series Love of my life has five entries currently with at least two more on the way. Whichever tumbles out faster will be the next update tentatively scheduled sometime before Valentine’s.
The first one, Holy Orange Bottles, a multi-chapter post-rosslyn recovery story through the eyes of Donna, Sam, and Josh’s mom. It explores the sheer amount of tragedy that has hit the Lyman family and how the four of them (and Harry the cat) work together towards a new normal. It’s pretty emotionally taxing for obvious reasons so I’ve been tackling it in small chunks. The title comes from the Taylor Swift song Soon You’ll Get Better and the chapter titles come from The Mountain Goats song Matthew 25:21
I also have a one-shot that covers the portland trip in season two titled A Clock That’s Ticking. It’s the first one I’m writing from Josh’s Pov and covers the meeting with Congressman Skinner and what would change if he knew about the election night conversation between the President and Dr. Jacobs. I also wondered what would change if after hearing the display of period/party typical allyship how Josh would address the assignment. And without giving too much away what would happen if Josh revealed his identity to Leo and the president. The title for this one comes from Holding onto Heartache by Louis Tomlinson which from the first listen hit me as such a Josh song and instantly became the title track to the piece despite the fic being nothing more than a series of scribbled notes when that album dropped in November.
 Submitted questions:
From @S4MWILS0N: fave ep ? fave season ? fave plot arc ? fave character ? fave character duo (platonic and romantic) ? actor you’d most like to meet irl ? plot line you wish you could get rid of ? funniest and most poignant one liner ?
Episode: Five Votes Down (Season 1 Episode 4) Ultimate comfort episode and I watched it so much during the 2020 election cycle after hard campaign vol days that I can still quote it word for word.
Season: Season 2 without question.
Plot Arc: It’s tied between the MS storyline and the post-in the shadow of two gunmen PTSD arc.
Favorite character: When it comes to a favorite character it feels nearly impossible to pick just one. It fluctuates so much depending on where I am in the series or if someone is asking senior staff/assistant level or recurring character. Right now though it’s probably CJ, but I will always be a Josh fan with all that I am. From the first episode I watched nearly two decades ago he’s always been a forever favorite. I love that disaster of a man so much.
Romantic Duo: I think it’s nearly impossible to walk away from a viewing of The West Wing without a deep affection for Josh and Donna, even as someone who strictly writes in an alternate timeline where they never were or will be together.
Platonic Duo: Currently it’s Margaret and Leo, it changes a lot but I love watching them so much.
Actor: Allison, I would probably collapse to be fair but Allison.
As much as it would be cool meeting Bradley or Richard would be way too much for me.
Plot line you’d get rid of: Toby and the leak, because what the hell was that.
One liner: either “There’s literally no one in the world I don’t hate right now” or “I’m so sick of congress I could vomit”.
Infinitely applicable to modern American politics, especially recently with the speaker vote. Also the grumpy nature of Toby Ziegler in that episode speaks to my soul on such a deep level.
From the editors (borrowed from a past Q&A, originally asked by @donnamossburner): what’s a fic that’s been sitting in the back of your mind forever and you hope one day you can finally write it?
A somebody’s going to emergency, somebody’s going to jail Sam/Josh alternating pov deep dive because the scene where Leo tells Sam to go home and that Josh told Leo about Sam’s parents haunts me. I can just imagine Josh telling Leo as a last effort of trying to reach Sam. It’s well documented throughout the series that Josh looks at Leo as a sort of father figure so I see him going to him for advice and it all comes tumbling out, his fears and doubts and how he just wants to help but can’t. In my mind it parallels The Crackpots and these women with the N.S.C. card and the conversations Josh has with various folks about it and how lost he is.
Thanks again to worldsofdreamers!! And thanks to everyone who submitted questions. If you’d like to be featured in a future Creator Spotlight, message us here, email [email protected] or DM us on Twitter!
xx, What’s next?
