it fucks me up how little we know obout the svsss characters ages.
Shen yuan could have been anywhere between 17 and 30 when he died.
How old was SQH? Who knows, something between 25 and 60 probably?
The peaklords all LOOK like they're in their twenties, but what does that mean when your immortal?
Imagine SQQ and SQH having a conversation a la:
Sqh: wait bro how old are you?
Sqq: if you count my life here and don't count the time I've been dead I must be... 25 now? Give or take? How bout you?
Sqh: cool, cool, if you count both my lifetimes I'm in my eighties now
Sqq: let's just ... not talk about that again

also semi relatedly is people really fucking go for the throat when they see especially a young trans girl saying the incredibly common "i wish i was born a girl :( things would have been easier if i was born a girl" and like immediately rushing to accuse her of being misogynistic or something and it's like fucking no cunt, she's just expressing dysphoria leave her the fuck alone.
yes some people definitely do genuinely have a simplified idea of what it's like growing up being gendered as female but like fucking christ you don't need to jump on the "male outsider who could never understand our pain" bullshit.
like it'd be easier if she was born a girl" because she's a girl and constantly made to not feel like a girl, it'd be easier for her because she wouldn't be feeling her current dysphoria like why the fuck are people so vicious about that?
idk you just see it sometimes like this idea that trans women more than any other group of people have massive internalised misogyny that means they can't possibly understand how restrictive gender is and they're like fetishising or whatever the experience that people find opressive. as if that's even slightly fair and also like fuck you it's not your relationship with gender now is it. "trans women are just reinforcing gender roles" is like genuinely one of the oldest transmisogynistic lines in the book. like it fucking always comes with that implication of "you're a man so you can't understand this" to incredibly vulnerable women
just fucking do better jesus christ.

it is so fucking exhausting and annoying how white women, including and maybe even especially in progressive and leftist spaces, continue acting like they are not themselves still beneficiaries of tremendous privilege simply because they endure sexist or misogynistic discrimination. being a woman does not excuse the fact that you are still white and you still reap the benefits of being white! you do not get to "but sexism!" your way out of being held accountable for saying and doing racist shit!

DO NOT DO THIS!!!
If a website has a paywall, like New York Times, DO NOT use the ctrl+A shortcut then the ctrl+c shortcut as fast as you can because then you may accidentally copy the entire article before the paywall comes up. And definitely don't do ctrl+v into the next google doc or whatever you open because then you will accidentally paste the entire article into a google doc or something!!!! I repeat DO NOT do this because it is piracy which is absolutely totally wrong!!!

If Jesus came back right now his ass wouldn't be in a church he'd be at the soup kitchen then he'd go home and play Fortnite for 16 hours straight then post a tweet saying "the pope doesn't know shit about fuck" before passing out

They want to believe a loveless, paternalistic, abuser, versed in conspiracies and resentment politics, will empower their white male privilege.
Their worldview includes unqualified white men talking down to women and minorities.
That is why MAGA is repulsed by Barack Obama and Joe Biden. They are nurturing men, great husbands, and fathers. They have love.

In my first year university course there was a class I remember as being mandatory (at least for English majors) about fallacies and biases in writing. And this prof was all about reading the whole article before you formed your argument. That was his whole thing. You know measure twice cut once he was read twice respond once. He stressed this so much that on our final exam (which was two long form essay questions and a few short answer questions) that I decided to read the WHOLE exam booklet before I grabbed my pen.
Turns out that is what he wanted. The final page, the final question, informed the student that if they wrote 1. Their name, 2. Their student number 3. Their favourite fallacy, and wait for 30 minutes so they don't arouse suspicion, you will literally be given 100 percent for the exam WORTH 40 PERCENT OF YOUR GRADE.
I think about it to this day. The prof literally saw the "reading comprehension on this site is piss poor" and said I can fix them

The statements are, imo, misguided, but not completely wrong.
The general woman isn't responsible for the general man's behavior.
At the same time, it's important we don't perpetuate the cycle of gender abuse by making broad statements about male behavior as though it's a guarantee, just like we wouldn't for women. Examples:
"Men are abusive" = just as yikes as "Women are manipulative"
"Incel men are abusive" = better, perhaps open to specification or discussion
"Men who think they deserve sex are abusive" = true, accurate, not catching strays toward men who don't think that way (or do and don't know it, but this statement is more open to discussion than the first two)
This does not make the hundreds of years of gender-based abuse solely, or even largely, on the backs of women for making "Men are—" comments. I'm saying it doesn't hurt to be a sniper rather than a buckshooter.
If you're not doing it for the grown men in your lives (as they should generally be able to be humane on their own unless they got swept up in cult behavior and are drones to a cult leader [they'll need help from loved ones]), consider the kids and teens listening to how you speak about them, because raising children is a group effort and our comments do mean something to them.
Also, men who mean better than their peers could stand to speak up toward certain comments perpetuating gender-based discrimination. "That's not cool," "Don't say that," "That's weird as hell," and other such callouts would often suffice. It'd be nice if some men could help their friends out of male-dominant cult bullshit.
i really like how people on here genuinely talk about feminism the exact same way as the fucking amazing atheist did 15 years ago like the gap between yall and the “anti sjw egalitarian mens rights activists” is closing with startling speed

"OP why are you mad that your words are being misinterpreted you're on the piss on the poor website" actually i think it's very reasonable to demand people pay attention to the words they use, the choices they make, the things they believe, and their capacity for empathy and comprehension and that it's sort of weird that you're finding humor in making excuses to just believe that there simply is no possible way to improve your actions
