We Gen Z’s are called digital natives because we have grown up and influenced by technology and the internet is being the center of our daily lives. The good effect of social media to us as a Gen Z individual is that, it makes us easier when it come in gathering information, it gives us instant messages and news about the current situation that is happening to our world. But when there is good effect, there is also bad effect. The bad effect of social media to us is that it misinform us and eats our time, instead of spending time with our family and friend in person, we waste our time scrolling up and down. As a responsible and technology literate Gen Z individual, it is our responsibility to control our time and usage of social media. This generation grew up with the use of cellphones, social media and wifi. Growing up with these technological advances can gave us strengths and weaknesses. Access to technology could be easy and advantage to us, Generation Z has been able to get the news quickly and communicate clearly with people around the world. Social media has a big impact on Gen Z because it can be easier to find information but the disadvantage of Social media as a Gen Z individual is that some people use video games, social media, smartphones to avoid their struggles or problem in the real world and social media affects Gen Z has caused a decline in face to face communication. As a Gen Z inidividual known to have a bond to digital media causing us to become more emotionally attached to the internet. There is many access of information on the internet and through 24-hour news media. It has a good and bad impact, having access to news and seeing real world problems can be good effect, but more and pervasive nature of information can cause problems to appear more severe and present than the more abridged news media that gen Z were used to.

As part of the generation z, social media has a good and bad effects for me, the good is that it helps me to easily communicate to my friends, its easy for me to make friends, and by using social media I can use my voice to share my knowledge, to share awareness and it makes my life easier since it gives me access to a lot of information and legit news. While the bad effects for me is that some post on social media can lower my self esteem, can cause me anxiety, and sometimes I am unaware and unintentionally bully because of sharing memes that I think its funny. As a child that was born in this generation digital devices and internet has a big impact in my life. especially social media, social media has a negative and positive effect in our lives it depends on how we use it, social media affects our life in a positive way because it makes our lives easier, it makes the communication easier, it can connect every people in the world, the sharing of information is easier trough the help of social media but it has also a negative effect in our lives to because it contains negative elements that can manipulate our mind, false information are everywhere in social media unless you are media and information literate you can find a legit information. But in the end of the day it depends on the person on how they will use social media, if they will use it properly or if they will use it in a negative way which can affect their lives to.

For today’s generation the use of technology and digital device is a part of our life, for some individual the use of technology is essential for their daily activity’s, it makes their life more easier, but there are also some people who are known as a part of digital divide which the information they acquire and obtain is less than those people who have access of information with the use of technology, they are in the case of underdeveloped world which is the uneven distribution of information and access of information. As a student we should help this kind of people because they can’t acquire information and if they can, they only acquire less. We should help them even just in a simple way by improving our digital literacy capacities, support them and teach them how to be digital literate and teach them various learning tools that are available in the internet.

Digital divide exist between different demographics on access to information technology, nowadays technology is very useful and helpful to us the internet, computers, telephones and televisions to acces information. Digital divide captures different populaces to leverage internet and gadgets. Understanding the socio-economic, cultural, political and behavioral aspects of digital literacy if you have good knowledge, skills, attitude towards networked devices it must be easier for you. To those people has limited information, network and understanding we should help them for them to have even access and distribution of information. As individuals it is easier for us to understand and learn if we put in place that we relate with, the target audience it should be relate to them so the benefits is they will enjoy from digital literacy. In this generation, the students will be easier to them and have better learning as they have better access and use various learning tools that is available online or in the internet. For this generation we need new media, I’m not saying that we need to replace Print media and Broadcast media to new media; print media and broadcast are still usable for obtaining and acquiring particular information that could help people, what I’m saying is that new media is what we need in this specific time because new media is more on relevant when obtaining information, by just using any cellular phone or gadget you could obtain and acquire information, it could also help us communicate all over the world just by using it, but you should be more aware of the information that you obtain from the social media because it could contain false information.

Print media, broadcast media, and new media are different but somehow interrelated to each other, the three provides an information for the people who are hungry for information.
