Hi hello

How do I get ride of copilot on my laptop?

If it is popping up in Microsoft Word:

Open Files, click on Options at the bottom.

Copilot now appears under the list of options. Click on it, uncheck the Enable box

It will still appear grayed out on your ribbon. Right-click, choose "customize your ribbon," look for "Assistance" under the Home tab, remove Copilot (or the Assistance option in general, frankly).

You will also have to do this for Excel and other apps, but I can confirm it's doable. Microsoft will likely very annoyingly ask you to sign out and sign in or restart your computer. This has taken me at last three times to get to work finally.

If it is appearing on your computer:

Open Settings, click on Apps, click on "Installed Apps"

You should be able to find an uninstall Copilot from there

If Microsoft does a major update, you will probably have to repeat the above steps. Turn off auto-updates to avoid this issue.

Currently you can switch to the Classic version of Office that does not have Copilot, however - also annoyingly - you won't be able to immediately switch until your current subscription is over. You can, however, switch back to earlier versions of Microsoft that does not include Copilot by following these steps.

My true genuine wish for the very shortly upcoming new year (hello from Still 2024) is that everyone who thinks that fanfiction is better than all professional/published fiction reads more published fiction.

Not because I think fanfiction is bad, or even because I think that it's inherently worse than published fiction, but because there are amazing, innovative, clever things happening in published fiction that I have not seen in fanfiction (just as there are amazing, innovative, clever things in fanfiction that I don't see in published fiction), and you are genuinely missing out by only reading fanfiction.

Read N. K. Jemisin. Read Arkady Martine. Read Tamsyn Muir. Read Jane Austen. Read Brandon Sanderson. Read Nora Roberts. Read Tracy Deonn. Read Tamora Pierce. Read John Chu. Read Ursula K. Le Guin.

Find genres that you like, find authors that you like, and read published fiction. You will be better for it.

i didn't even know about the ao3 curse until i published my first few chapters of my first ever fanfic and ended up in the hospital a couple days later. my partner drove me home when i got discharged and i mentioned the fanfic in passing and they were like. "oh my god. i can't believe it's real." and i was like what??? what's real?????? and proceeded to learn the horrors. anyway. back to the gay people who live in my phone

Thinking on interesting premises for Yuu creation/character dev. in terms of the 'isekai' genre and... One interpretation I am highly favoring is a Yuu who thinks they were abducted by a cult at first - aka. they saw the Opening Ceremony and instantly thought 'oh this is such a scam' but plays along with it. They give the name 'Yuu' as an alias, carefully making choices to handle these conveniently timed conflicts and 'overblots' to please the Headmaster. Full on thinking they're stuck in something like The Truman Show. Somehow they keep developing their own explanations for the magic, school, setting, etc. It's realistic - seeing is believing can only get you so far. They're trying to logic their way out of everything, even convincing themselves that they must be in a comatose dream as a last resort. It could also explain why they're so active for someone trapped in an alternate reality. Always choosing to be a bystander who's conveniently at the right place at the right time. At the start they're planning to escape, and by Arc 6 they're convinced it's all just some elaborate dream in their psyche. Which is why they stop asking Crowley to leave or mentioning their world ( plus the Mickey mirror) to everyone in twst - interpreting the discomfort as their brain pushing them away vs. the twst cast simply not wanting Yuu to go.

Arc Seven for those of you who know (I will not elaborate for the sake of spoilers) would 100% be where the crash-out of 'oh. this is real. these are real people.' happens. The chapter line up is perfect for the realization to slowly be brough about, and conclusion sets a precedence for an entirely new pathway other than 'Yuu goes home' for Arc 8.

Anywho. This is a premise I'm considering for a new series (perhaps a series of comics) as the completion of 'TWST: Hall Of Mirrors' nears publishing. I've considered many backgrounds for my own personal Yuu and pathways...but this one continues to linger with me.
