A penny for your thoughts on the Dikinbaus episode? 👀👀👀

Omg okay so I definitely have to rewatch it like 10082927 times but just to go off of my late night 'delirious from excitement' watch, I am absolutely ECSTATIC at the way the episode treated Butters and gave him a well deserved win.

Butters has evolved a lot over the course of the show, he used to be a 100% naïve and innocent boy who was absolutely clueless about everything mature or terrible going on around him and it was always a very hopeful thing for me to watch him keep going and loving life despite how much the world tore him down on all ends. In a way, watching old seasons makes me miss the old Butters, but if Butters had just stayed the same for the next 20 seasons, he would hardly feel like a real/three dimensional person as he does now.

The changes and mood swings he's gone through, as well as the resilience he's started to build up were weird to watch at first (*COUGH* s20) but then they've started making more and more sense, especially taking into account the Post COVID special and the two wildly different paths his life could go.

That all being said, Dikinbaus was an absolutely satisfying cathartic episode as a Butters enthusiast, because he's just finally embracing things he's genuinely good at and demanding justice from someone who's arguably taken advantage of him the most in the entire show: Cartman.

It's kind of like Butters' version of Wendy's "Breast Cancer Show Ever" episode, where she's often been disrespected in a sexist way by him and no one (no teachers/adults) ever really did something, so she took matters into her own hands. Cartman is always screwing Butters over by letting him take the fall for his schemes, making Butters spend money on his behalf, and Butters has let him get away with it for so long, and so have Butters' parents (and everyone else but I especially blame the adults bc yknow).

This makes Dikinbaus kind of a kickstarter for Butters' "Fuck you, Eric!" moment at the end of Post COVID: The Return of COVID, which is nice to see because in the "Worldwide Privacy Tour" episode earlier in the season, Butters' behavior (after his parents sent him to rework his "brand") reminded me much more of Vic Chaos. It's nice to see these two versions of Butters' future reflect in present episodes, and I'm excited to see more of it in future episodes.

I've been rambling about Butters only but tbh I found the Kenman dynamic in this episode hilarious too. It makes me kind of mourn the respect Butters had for Kenny though, bc I'm sure that after this episode it must've significantly gone down, but honestly I was just happy to see Kenny have some fun even if it was at Butters' expense. Let him be a dumb immature kid fr

The only issue I had with the episode for now is the commentary on mental health days at work and the underlying "today's youth is sensitive and too lazy to work" message, which lacked nuance and just kinda felt like old people complaining. It would've been okay if they'd kept it only to Cartman, kinda like the "there's queer people, and then there's Mr Garrison" thing, but they brought Kenny & other kids into that narrative too so it made me feel a little eh about the commentary. But oh well

this post may be a bit long (when isn’t it lmaoo)

Ringmaster: Cartman. -> he would immediately assign himself this position but he would mysteriously get a lot of funding so no one has the guts to overthrow him. Is your stereotypical neglectful ringleader who acts like a tyrant. I’ve also decided to add Wendy as his co-ringmaster or assistant because she’d be the one keeping him in check and managing basically everything while Cartman manages finance. He hates working alongside her but she’s a key worker for his circus and she’s GOOD at her job so he can’t really do anything. Always rips on her though.

Strongman: okay. LISTEN. I’m going to put Gregory here. He’s a blond British political man. His hair also looks like a stereotypical Ken doll. He’d be the generic strong blond who bends iron bars and the crowd goes wild.

Contortionist: Tweek seems like the type to freak other kids out with his hyper mobility and the ability to bend his fingers all the way back. He’d make a mean contortionist except for when he’s having a bad day and can’t fathom the thought of being stuck in a small cube

Ariel Artist/trapeze artist: as mentioned before, Kenny is THE perfect fit for this. He’s got a knack for shooting himself out of canons and walking precariously on thin rope. I just feel like he’d be a really loose limbed guy. All his fears disappeared years ago, his deaths making him reckless.

Acrobats: I feel like the girls (Heidi, Bebe and Red) would be the acrobats. They would have colour coordinated fits and would already have a history of gymnastics. Bebe would also be on silks.

Fire Performer/knife throwing: Kyle immediately came to mind because I feel like he’d have a stick up his ass about safety and then the dude goes on to shove swords of fire down his throat. Also red hair equals fire OBVIOUSLY 🙄

Manipulator (aka the juggler, plate spinner, hat tricks): Butters because can you imagine him on a tricycle juggling with balls and clown face paint? Because I certainly can and Cartman gets a lot of amusement out of it (sorry butters)

Fortune Teller: Henrietta. No further notes.

Animal tamer: Good ol’ animal lover enthusiast Stan. He’d be dangerously protective over his animals and would shoot down any of Cartmans performance plans that would put the animals at risk.

Stilts: Craig. No reason why just, Craig.

Musician: Jimmy. Cartman attempted to make Jimmy a ‘freak’ for the circus but his music is just that good

Magician: Clyde would be those dorky magicians who’s embarrassed himself several times before but he’s getting better. The crowd always thinks his fails are a part of the act so it works

Horses/Extreme Dressage: Tolkein would still manage to stay elegant while working in a circus. He’s just like that. He also LOVES his horse.

If this is a stendy au, Stan would be jealous and HATE Gregory’s flirting with Wendy because he knows that Gregory knows how attractive he himself is and being a strongman and all and Stan is stuck being a vegan animal trainer :,)

Knowing Cartman he probably has a ‘freaks’ section but I honestly don’t even want to go into that because we all know it’s full of minorities 😓

This is honestly really messy and really bad because I just discovered several of these circus roles in the last five minutes. I tried to match the characters to their job as best as I could but honestly I can’t say I’m super satisfied (not the worst I still like a few roles) 💔

"Wait so you'll come?!" Y/n hugs Kyle happily he was a bit taken back he felt Awkard and didn't want people to see, but he still enjoyed it.

STAN: Peace sign pin on his hat n sometimes wears preachy shirts about environmentalism bcuz he's an ecofag. He has faint old scars on his arms n thighs cuz he used to cut. He's often covered in bruises bcuz the CD shows are tightly packed n he will inevitably get hit at least once.

KENNY: Covered in shit load of scars bcuz dead as hell. He's missin a visible top tooth bcuz it got cracked as shit n asked the gang to pull it out for him, which they very poorly did. While he doesn't care about havin nice clothes, he likes comedy shirts bcuz he'll lose his mind if he can't make someone at least chuckle.

CARTMAN: Stretch marks bcuz he a big bitch. His hair is the exact same bcuz he got so used to it as a kid n now has anxiety about changin it (he will never admit this). He also likes wearin funny shirts bcuz Kenny got him goin on that. Bro also wears tight or more showin clothin when he feels cuz he couldn't give less of a shit about how other view his body.

KYLE: Mouth scars from Human Centipad (he just kinda ignores the scars now. He couldn't come to terms with them, so he just numbed himself to them), sh scars bcuz that bitch ain't well. Jewfro in full bloom as he just doesn't care n he REALLY needs to take better care of it bcuz it's so matted. CD shirt 95% of the time bcuz it's like his #1 comfort item.

MARJORINE (or Butters if we're goin by show name): She keeps her hair at that very specific length bcuz it's long enough to where she feels more feminine, but short enough to where her parents don't suspect anything (but gettin allowed to grow it that long took a lot of convincing). He eye left eye is scarred n not able to move much due to the throwin star incident (she is blind in that eye). She does have old sh scars from middle school when she had to come to terms with bein trans n she was extremely confused n conflicted about all of it. She likes wearin skirts bcuz it makes her feel more feminine, but has to get dressed once out in public, so it's somethin she can quickly get on and off if need be.

IKE: Long hair/mullet adjacent bcuz he is just likin the look right now n after Sheila made him keep his hair short for majority of his childhood, he's just kinda feelin out different things. I gave him freckles bcuz in Cartman Get's an Anal Probe, Kyle calls him a 'freckly kid'. Bro got them glasses bcuz he grew up on the computer. His front tooth is cracked n brown bcuz he n Kyle were wrestlin n Ike hit a table. And while it's not completely uncommon for people to start growin facial hair in middle school, Ike started to bcuz Canadians hit puberty earlier.

KAREN: She has a birth mark on the left side of her face (did this in placement for the weird maybe dirt stain she has in the show). Her hair is long n all over the place bcuz she doesn't really brush her hair (you can blame Kenny for the influence) n she cuts it herself but is not too great at layering. Growin up impoverished n around the ideologies that Stan n CD always talks about made her rather angry in the sphere of politics n human rights, so she is very vocal about her opinions of the shit she sees (which is why she always writes shit on her clothes). She can also sometimes be seen wearin a rasta coloured beanie, which was Kevin's before he died.

CRAIG: Usually wearin his work hoodie (Fagoccini's Pizzaria) bcuz mf doesn't care to put in effort outside of that seein as he works so much. Bro wears a similar hat to the one he did as a kid bcuz it brought him a lot of comfort, n now that his hairline is recedin n he's baldin a lil bit at 18, he wears it bcuz he's a lil insecure. He doesn't give a shit that his teeth a crooked n gapped cuz it doesn't effect shit, but he does have a bit of an underbite that pisses him off bcuz he swears up n down that's what makes his voice sound so nasally.

TWEEK: Hair all fuckin wild bcuz he cuts it himself, n loses patience quickly n starts choppin. He also has white streaks in his hair which started appearing after his parents got arrested n durin his very long detox (from the stress of the info and on his body cuz of the dependency). He's got scratches all over his face n body from stress scratchin, meltdowns, n a few mishaps here n there. Bro also got sh scars bcuz bro got a lotta shit that went down n his brain chemistry is FUCKED.

WENDY: She cuts her hair short bcuz she wants to have a more androgynous appearance, but is still very confident with bein feminine n shit like that. When she started to become more human rights n social justice oriented, she started to get into boxing (as well as wrestling in school). She thought it would be a good to know how to fight if it came down to it. Plus she could already kick ass before, n she just thought it would be best to hone that ability.

BEBE: Started changin quite a bit after she had a whole moment of thinkin that she would turn out exactly like her mom (she has nothin wrong with her, just doesn't want that life). While she's still into things like cheer, she also started lookin into things that weren't what she was used to. She ended up findin Pink Flamingos, n became obsessed with Divine ever since. She dyes her cuz she feels better with it. n while she still does her makeup conventionally, she likes doin a more dark colour palet.

CLYDE: He's just Clyde. Dude's appearance didn't change that much bcuz he didn't change much. Some mfs just kinda be like that.

TOLKEIN: His mom suggested he try different hairstyles to be more connected with his culture bcuz he was havin a moment where he felt a lil blah bein the only Black dude his age in the area. He doesn't do upkeep as much as he should though, so things are a lil messy, but he doesn't see a problem as workin on the farm makes everythin messy so much faster anyway.

JIMMY: Bro just dresses casually. He doesn't really care about clothes or shit bcuz he can get people's attention with his comedy. Ladies man as fuck

HENRIETTA: Always has the best outfits bcuz she got into sewin so that she could start makin shit that she specifically wanted. She has a few tattoos- some are stick n pokes she did with her friends, others her mom signed off on when she was still under 18. She tries to ward people off with her makeup, which works rather well in South Park. She has both old sh scars from her emo moment (where she was just doin it cuz that's what she was told emo's did), n ones from later on where she was just feelin super empty n couldn't find a way to romanticize it like done previously.

FIRKLE: He's still in middle school so he doesn't go AS out there with his fashion bcuz he doesn't have the in-school support of his friends anymore. But still does dramatic makeup which he gets in trouble for all the time.

MICHAEL: Simple clothes that he's comfortable in, but not so simple that he feels like he's conforming. Pierced his ears up n down bcuz he was told he couldn't. Ramshackle

I SUPPORT: "Skipp x Stone" (Skipping Stone)

Because Skipp and Stone seem like a really cute duo, and it kind of reminds me of the "Squidward x SpongeBob" ship.

And given the headcanon sexualities I have, Skipp is very affectionate, while Stone doesn't have half of it, which I find kind of funny!

I DON'T SUPPORT: "Vinnie x Ditch"

I don't do a whole lot of digging into "Ramshackle" lore for now, but based on "The Other Side" animatic from a few years ago, Ditch just seems toxic and manipulative, and I'm not a huge fan of it sort of trope.

Plus, I find Vinnie wanting to be single for awhile. I don't think she's really desperate to be in a relationship.

Heartstopper

I SUPPORT: "Nick x Charlie" (Narlie), "Tara x Darcy" and "Tao x Elle"

For "Nick x Charlie"... well, it should be pretty obvious. They care for each other, they're affectionate, healthy, and very active during long-distance.

For the two other ships, they're both just really cute and healthy, I don't care if it's unrealistic for all the ships to be healthy, but I couldn't give less of a fuck.

I DON'T SUPPORT: "Imogen x Sahar"

I know a lot of supporters of this ship are gonna attack me for this opinion, but if you actually pay attention to the show, it seems kind of toxic. Like, Imogen stopped talking to Sahar for basically a YEAR because Imgoen was 'in love' with a boy, and still seems pretty mad at her from the end of S2 to mid-S3, and if you actually look at the times when they kiss and whatnot, something always goes wrong, and it's mostly Imogen's popular-ass fault (I'm not a Imogen hater, I promise), and I just like them better as friends.

Plus, it showcases more queer people in the friend group to be single, and that it's okay to be that. (In which the opposite is basically a huge rule in the show that I don't really enjoy :p)

I SUPPORT: "Stan x Kyle" (Style) and "Kenny x Butters" (Bunny)

For "Stan x Kyle", from the clips I've seen online, Stan seems to be really nice to Kyle in more ways than one, and they seem really friendly to be each other most of the time, and it feels more than a friendship, and I kind of headcanon that it'll grow more into a romantic relationship by late High School.

For "Kenny x Butters", from what I've heard people say, they seem to be really good friends, and based on that oen clip where Butters calls out everyone's shitty personalities, and says "The only one with the sense of diginity around here is KENNY"... I rest my case.

I DON'T SUPPORT: "Kyle x Cartman" (Kyman)

I feel like the people who support this ship haven't actually seen the show. Cartman is literally racist, sexist, homophobic, disrepectful, dirty, vulgar, and evil in very way possible 99.9% of the time, while Kyle literally beats Cartman's ass because of these traits. Plus, Cartman literally makes fun of Kyle's religon (Jewish) and hair color (Ginger) in some episodes with little to no remorse.

And while I like some of the fanart, I really, REALLY don't support this ship.

The Amazing Digital Circus

I SUPPORT: "Pomni x Ragatha" and "Ponmi x Gummigoo"

While I support the "Pomni x Ragatha" ship on the more cuddling and affection side, I still think this ship sounds like a good idea, considering how nice Ragatha is towards Pomni while she adjusts to life in the Circus, and Pomni being somewhat stable about everything that goes on around her.

For "Pomni x Gummigoo"... I can really see it. Although it's more of a friendship in the beginning, the vibe the two gave off to each other in E4 is what kind of sold me for the ship (Plus a lot of other people supporting it)

I DON'T SUPPORT: "Zooble x Gangle", "Pomni x Jax" and "Ragatha x Jax"

For "Zoobie x Gangle", while the vibe that they gave off during E4 did hint some romantic shipping for me, I mostly just see it as a caring friendship rather than a romantic. For "Pomni x Jax", I just don't ship it, cause I don't see them being a healthy couple, and some the content farming ruined it even more.

For "Ragatha x Jax", it's basically the same reasons as for "Kyman". They hate each other.

(I'm not trying to attack anyone who's a fan of these ships, this is just my personal opinion so please don't attack me)
