I honestly do not think we would ever get bishova as canon for real. But that’s never been why I enjoy a ship, so I guess that makes things different for me. I think all I’m really hoping for is that both characters get some rich canon and maybe, as we move into the next phase of the mcu, they’ll take advantage of how fun they were on screen together and have their stories clash in some way.

Not speculation for what will actually happen by any means, just a highly fanfic-type ‘what if’ :

What if, when the medal ceremony is over and everyone is starting to head out, Gerard (who by now knows or has suspicions that it wasn’t Hen or Chimney that reported him) says something snide and homophobic that is most obviously aimed at T*mmy, but Eddie primarily notices how it visibly bursts the bubble of Buck’s so far smooth coming out (and maybe Eddie himself feels a “weird”, more him-centered, visceral reaction he doesn’t understand at all yet), and he punches the former 118 captain, leading to a suspension and the beginning of a self-inflicted period of isolation, furthered by the inevitable blow up of his latest disastrous adventures in dating women?

Meanwhile, Buck is shaken up, and while of course he checks on T*mmy and how he’s handling it (better than Buck I imagine), he keeps circling back to how worried he is about Eddie, which, fair, but it’s bothering him more than the notion of having that kind of bigotry pop up so close to home, and T*mmy is like 🤨…

again, very fanfic vibes but my brain is circling this drain so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Fun Story to Share.

I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.
