#greek mythology #medusa #perseus #ramblings #Yes I know that Medusa has a more humanoid appearance and human intellect compared to the other female monsters #But she is still a monster #She was supposed to have a monstruous appearance but then people made her dirty #Imagine if I would turn the Minotaur into a hot guy with horns and then ship him with Theseus AKA his own killer #I know it sounds ridiculous but this is exactly how some people out there sound too #Why can't we acknowledge that one doesn’t need to be conventionally attractive in order to deserve empathy or understanding?#Or that a woman can be evil and malevolent without a tragic background story that turn all women into victims and all men into assholes?#And why do we have to come up with the most stupid pairs to ever exist?#My tags are becoming more and more distant from the post's subject but my FYP is full of this type of BS so here I am #Thanks for my (salty) Ted Talk!

#dungeon meshi #kabru #laios touden #falin touden #Happy Thistle Thursday once again. Have I been holding on to this comic for several weeks? Sure have!#I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play.#I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks.#Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere.#Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios.#The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*.#This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those.#Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human.#Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her.#She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist.#The damsel was the dragon all along!#...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

i know ryoko kui is a real one because she wrote 97+ chapters of a manga about fantasy ecosystems and food chains and not once did she write the phrase "survival of the fittest" (it's a bad phrase) (it's a social darwinist phrase even) (hated amongst biologists) (doesn't make sense) (darwin didn't use it) (coined by an business major) (one of the worst phrases in pop science) (no good)

#i think the closest she comes to this is when kabru says something about the weak being eaten but he also thinks all monsters should die #so i don't think he's like the voice of reason when it comes to ecosystems and evo bio NOT a kabru diss just saying #i think eat or be eaten is fine. it's like migrate adapt or die. i think it's fine and not the same as survival of the fittest #dungeon meshi #ETA: i was wrong darwin did use the phrase after it was coined. doesn't matter phrase still sux

you know what's worse than living with your dementia-ridden grandmother? living with your dementia-ridden grandmother who's also a massive narcissist manipulator and has lived with you forever and has emotionally and physically abused your mother for 50 years and you for 20. funnn

#every day is filled with screaming matches over meds over food over inheritance over furniture anything #she's old and frail but still screeches at us and hurls insults and gets physical too #and it's hard to watch as her mind slips #other people see her as this poor elderly lady #but she is still a monster #i hate this place and i will never call it home

Following an accident, Danny wakes up in Gotham City in a DC universe. Lacking any forms of ID or possessions beyond the clothes on his back, he’s forced to commit some crimes to survive. Minor crimes, but still.

And then he gets caught.

During the court proceedings, they come to the mistaken conclusion that he’s a Meta suffering from some psychiatric issues such as Cotard’s Syndrome (a real rare condition where a person holds the delusional belief that they’re dead/don’t exist/etc).

Thus, between his “need for mental treatment” and the concerns about housing someone with his unique physical traits, he is sentenced to spend time in Arkham Asylum. He’s under pretty low security aside from the anti-Meta stuff and has more freedoms than some other inmates, but it’s still not a great experience. Even at the best of times, Arkham is hardly a nice place.

Some of his fellow residents are decently chill all things considered, but lots very much aren’t.
