a detail i like about Fields Of Mistria is that you get most of the tools like the hoe and the ax as gifts from other characters but you already own a sword when the game starts because the farmer’s backstory is that they’re from the adventurer’s guild in the big capital city

I have been playing Fields of Mistria for about 100 hours so far, so here are some of my thoughts.
(no idea if any of my ideas are already going to be implemented or not)
CHARACTERS:
What I liked: every character feels and looks different. So far no romance-able option has given me the ick and are all pleasant.
What I would add:
Have non-romance-able NPC’s have heart events at 2, 4,6,8 and 10 hearts.
Celine should sell forageable seeds, but at a steep price and a limited stock. Unlocked by an event or enough hearts.
FARMING:
What I liked: Farming is simple and easy to understand. A good amount of crops with room for more.
What I would add:
Have more uses for the hoe, not really using it much.
Have Luc teach you how to make bug traps with honey and flowers. Unlocked with enough hearts with him.
Luc can teach you how to make bee hives with Ryis’ help. You will have to catch bees to craft them. Will produce honey.
Have the ax and pickax also cut weeds, so you can more precisely get rid of them. Without cutting the grass.
Will we get a greenhouse or sheds? Would be fun to have.
ANIMALS:
What I liked: Animals are good so far, the breeding for colors is fun.
What i would add:
Have Hayden sell grass starter and animal feed. Make it a friendship or story unlock. Don’t make it a skill unlock.
Have animals have better path finding so they don't go through fences or barns/coops
Have grass spread a bit faster. Also have grass-starter spread grass at an accelerated pace for a few days.
When milling animal feed you should at least get 2 bags per mix. Making the mill more viable. Make this default not a skill upgrade.
Have the grass starter make 2 starters when you mill it. Make this default not a skill upgrade.
Have a barn/coop upgrade that auto fills the feed troughs and a place to add in the feed.
CRAFTING:
What I liked: From what I have seen, a good amount of decoration, but not enough practical use that brings me back to it other than chests.
What I would add:
Give the wood crafting skill a more practical use other than decoration. Give it crafts like sprinklers, animal product machines, making grass starter at home, ect. Give it a balance of technical and decorative functions.
Give us an at home forge at some point. March and Olric could unlock the option once they both have enough hearts.
The crafting table should allow players to craft kegs to make alcohol to be later used in cooking.
Building barns or coops should reward exp to the crafting skill.
FISHING:
What I liked: Really easy to understand fishing mini game. No problems here.
What I would add:
Have Terithia teach you how to make crab pots, fish ponds/farms and fish bait once you have enough hearts with her. She can also sell them.
Terithia could sell seaweed, Jade dulse, under seaweed, sea grapes, and tide lettuce. Maybe you can unlock a heart event/ rank upgrade event where she wants to build seaweed farms and you have to bring her the 5 seaweed types and stone to make them.
Terithia could sell soy sauce.
You should be able to eat fish raw for a small stamina boost/recovery.
OTHER:
If you already have a quest reward, have the old reward change to gold.
Make the days longer by 10 minutes. I feel like I'm scrambling for time. Likewise with the day being longer, make the stamina bar bigger or tools use less stamina.
The ruins and the beach feel kinda empty. I want more to do and explore.
Home upgrades that add separate rooms, an upstairs and a basement.
An auto sorting button for chests that takes the items out of my inventory and auto sorts them into the chest.
More places to explore. The map feels smallish.
Have notifications when things are happening. Like when Friday night at the inn starts, when the Saturday market is open, or when festivals start.
Getting all buffs in a skill level should award you with using less stamina when using the tool of that skill. Such as: crafting for axes. Mining for pickaxes. Fishing for fishing rods. Archeology for shoves. Farming for watering can/hoe.
When the game becomes 1.0 we should have proper save files so we can have multiple farms/save files at once.
Make coops/ barns, trees and large objects transparent when you walk behind them.
Holding the SHIFT key makes you buy or collect 5 of an item.
Chests should be bigger at least 1.5 times the max inventory.
Too many monsters in the mine make you wait and waste time.
Allow us to sell stuff at any store.
Scrolling through your inventory should not go to the next tab, it should loop the tab. Only switching tabs when the TAB key is hit.
As your town rank goes up, wandering traders, adventurers, and visitors appear. They can sell rare or unobtainable items or have world building dialog.
Have new events happen year 2 and 3. New people, new places, new crops and items. Will make the game more interesting in the long run.
There should be an indicator saying if i have crafted/cooked something or not and how many times it has been crafted.
When buying an item(s), there should be a chest icon telling you how many of that item I have in a chest. This would be helpful for forgetful players that don't keep track of items well.
Maybe make the legendary bugs a bit easier to find. I’m only finding speedy snails.
Thanks for hearing my thoughts.

Stardew Rancher AU - Quest: Getting Started
Here's the beginning of Jimmy's Day 1 as a farmer! I like the quest approach to things. Don't hesitate to request things about this au!
>> Part One | Next Part
Jimmy wakes up at 6 am. He’s a bit stressed about his new life, although he slept well. He figures it’s not so bad.
“I’m a farmer now,” he says after sitting up.
He looks around the small one-room cabin he lives in. It’s not much. It doesn’t even have a kitchen. But somehow, it feels so much more heartwarming than the studio he rented in the big city. This is his.
He gets up and pokes at the fire’s embers to revive them, putting a log in the chimney to keep it burning. He turns on the TV, surprised that something pops on. Most of it is static, but there are two clear channels. The first one is the weather forecast and the second one is a weird show with a mysterious person giving a fortune reading.
He turns it off and turns around to the small round table. There’s a package on it waiting for him and a note: “Here’s a little something to get you started. - Mayor Grian.” Ripping the wrapper reveals a pack of seeds. He can plant 15 parsnips with that.
“You can do it,” he tells himself.
He puts on fresh clothes and walks to the door. Before opening it, he notices the old wooden chest next to it. He pushes the lid and peer. A surprised sound escapes his throat when he sees what’s inside.
There are five items carefully set there.
An axe, a pickaxe, a hoe, a scythe and a watering can.
They’re old and battered, but clean. Another person might scoff at them, but it feels like Christmas to him.
He’s a farmer now.
He doubts it, but he tells himself that those tools are his grandpa’s. That they’ve been used and cherished and left aside for him. And with them, he can follow in his grandpa’s footsteps.
🌿 loading🌿
He takes to it quite quickly. Using the scythe to clear out some of the tall grass in front of his porch, clearing some dead wood and mining a few rocks to have enough space for a small field. The nearest pond comes in handy when it comes to watering the crops.
Once all of that is done he straightens back and wipes his forehead. He’s incredibly tired already, but he takes the time to admire his work.
The sun is shining. The air feels fresh. Jimmy feels alive.

Oh my gosh I have so many questions about OFF valley, I love it so much! What do you think the gameplay mechanics would be like? Fighting/farming.. Stuff like that.
Did you ever think about what the heart cutscenes would be like?
Who's your favorite 'villager'? :D
Thank you!
I imagine the mechanics would be...
🌱 Farming
Buy plastic crops, grow them, and sell them to Zacharie. Zacharie usually does the selling for you, but maybe you can barter for a higher price if you have the skill (and CHARISMA?!). Your crops would depend on the season, so there would be a variety!
You'll have the usual tools that you can upgrade: A hoe, pickaxe, axe, watering can, fishing pole, and a weapon!
You can upgrade your farm, like adding a kitchen, bedroom, and workshop.
🐄 Animals
For now, I can only imagine cows who produce metal and meat.
You'll have a butchery skill tree, and the quality of your meat and metal would depend on that and how well taken cared of your cow is.
🍳 Crafting and Cooking
You can craft items and make delicious food. Make sure you have the important ingredients!
⛏ Mining
You can go into the mines and find rare minerals and gemstones.
👻 Enemies and Combat
The only enemies in the game would be specters! Ahh! Ahh! They'll spawn in the mines, so you have to watch out. The combat system wouldn't be so complicated and is easy to master, make sure you improve your weapons and combat skill!
Of course, you can explore the world as you'd like. I imagine a large map that consists of your farm, a bunch of vacant lots for you to purchase, the Town where the Bakery, The Cafe, The Library, and the Town Hall are at, the Plaza, the beach, lake, Le Zacharie, the woods, the mountain and the mines. NPCs would have their own schedules, struggles, preferences, and quests to complete.
Heart Cutscenes...
You'll have 10 hearts with each 'villager' or townsfolk. And I'll be releasing what a cutscene would probably look like in-game! You'll have multiple choices so choose wisely;;
My favorite villager has got to be ALL. But I really like The Batter. And I think you'll like the storyline I have in store for him.

One Sunny Day
(Stardew Valley) (Haley x Female Farmer)
Chapter 3
After unpacking what I could (can't put anything anywhere since there are no drawers), I decided to splash some cold water on my face from the sink in the bathroom. I then take a good look at myself in the mirror right above the sink. I have slightly prominent eye bags and light freckles across my face. There is a pretty big scar on my right brow bone from when I tripped and gashed the side of my head on a marble countertop when I was 11. It was not a fun day.
I left the bathroom and noticed that by the door there were some yard and farm tools. An axe, hoe, scythe, and watering can. But there also seems to be a fishing rod, and oddly enough, a pickaxe along with the tools.
"Who keeps a pickaxe around?" I laugh as I pick it up and examine it. I set it back down and walk over to my bag. I grab out an old pair of overalls that surprisingly still fit, and a green, long sleeve shirt.
"I knew these overalls would come in handy one day. Take that mom."
I put my heavy duty boots on and grab the scythe sitting by the door. I fling open the door and make my way outside.
"Where do I even begin?" I say as I take in the mess of a field. I take a step off the porch and into the long grass and start cutting away the tall grass and unidentifiable leafy plants growing out of the ground.
"This is going to take forever," I huff as I swing the scythe into the tall grass. "Don't they have lawnmowers here?"
🌻 🌻 🌻
I feel my stomach start rumbling aggressively. I had slashed the last bit of grass and bent down for a breather. I straighten back up and admire the work I accomplished all in one day. The ground is finally visible and tillable for seeds.
"Planting seeds will definitely have to be a tomorrow job." I wipe the sweat from my forehead and walk back to the house.
I put the scythe back where I found it and decided to leave the farm to get some dinner. It is somewhere around 7 o'clock but I usually eat around 5. That explains why my stomach is losing its mind.
I begin my walk past the rundown bus that's along the short pathway into town. I decided to pick a handful of dandelions along the way. There were tons around but I picked the bunch that was the best looking. I stuff them into the pocket at the front of my overalls so the tops of them are peaking out like a small bouquet.
After walking into town, I give a few small nods to the townsfolk. I have my hands thrown casually into my overall pockets and a smile plastered on my face. I don't want to seem rude and unapproachable.
I entered the Stardrop Saloon with as much confidence as I could muster. The smile still spread across my face for the friendly appeal.
"Who do we have here?" An older lady in a tracksuit with short, curly, blonde hair shouts across the saloon. She seems absurdly drunk. "You look like a little troublemaker."
So much for the friendly appeal. How do I look like a troublemaker?
I take a glance around the Saloon before sitting down. Everybody has their eyes on me out of curiosity. I strut over the bar and take a seat somewhat near the track suit lady.
"Hey, kid. I'm just messin' with ya. The name's Pam. Don't be a jerk and we'll get along fine." The lady in the track suit says.
"Nice to meet you, Pam. The name's Danny," I introduce myself as kindly as possible.
"Well hello there! I'm Gus, chef and owner of the Stardrop Saloon. Welcome!" A man says from the other side of the counter. "You must be the granddaughter that came to town today. I have heard all about you from the townsfolk. Mayor Lewis has a set of loose lips. We don't get many new people here."
"Yeah that's me. Grandpa needs someone to take care of that ol' farm. He picked me to be that person I guess." I shrug and trace a finger along the grain of the wood countertop.
"You will love it here. I guarantee it! Everyone here is super friendly..." He kind of trails off and looks towards a group of young adults about my age in an arcade/lounge area. I follow his gaze and notice the group of 9 looking our way with very skeptical glares.
Even with us looking, minus a girl with the brightest, natural, orange bob I have seen, and a girl with glasses who seems to love purple, they didn't dare break their stares.
Actually, the girl across the arcade from the one with glasses seems to like purple just as much, maybe more since her hair is dyed purple.
But what catches my eye before I turn back to Gus, is a flash of bright blonde hair entering my view. She was late to looking over at me and had just poked her head around a burly, redhead jock she was sitting next to on a blue sofa. Her expression matched the rest of theirs, but with a bit more attitude.
Gus clears his throat and I snap out of my trance. I immediately put my attention back on Gus and continued our conversation.
"Yeah, they seem lovely. I love the sense of privacy here," I say sarcastically.
Gus lets out a booming, belly laugh and I couldn't help but chuckle as well. I turned my gaze slightly to see if the group stopped looking over, but unsurprisingly, they were still looking. If anything, Gus laughing just drew their attention back if they did turn away.
"What will you be having this fine night? We have the best beer and coffee around," Gus asks me.
"I think I will have some spaghetti if that's alright?" I reply
"Of course it's okay! Emily, make this young lady some spaghetti please!" He says to the blue haired girl behind him.
"Right away, Gus!" she replies back cheerfully.
"I will be back in a jiff with your spaghetti, why don't you go say hi to my sister and our friends over there? You seem about our age," Emily says to me before skipping into the back.
I look at Gus with wide eyes and make a face of uncertainty.
"You'll be fine. They are nice once you get to know 'em. Like I said, we haven't had anyone new here in a long time. Especially someone as young as you." Gus motions towards them as if encouraging me to go over to the arcade.
I stand up from the bar and start waltzing my way over, passing by a guy standing alone by the fireplace. I give him a friendly nod on my way by.
My footsteps seem to alert them all to look back over. I roll my sleeves up to try to cool myself down. It suddenly got really hot in here.
I throw my hands into my overall pockets and change my pace to a saunter when I get closer to the arcade. I am trying way too hard to be cool. I have never been so nervous to meet a group of people before. I am usually the outgoing one.
"Howdy," I mentally smack myself in the face. I'm already fitting the farmer stereotypes. "Emily told me I should come over here and meet you guys. My name is Danny"
"Ah, the new farmer we've all been expecting... and whose arrival has sparked many a conversation!" a guy with flawless hair announces as I approach. A few of them are hanging out right by the entrance of the arcade.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you," A girl with a dark orange braid says, "You picked a good time to move here... The spring is lovely. I'm Leah by the way."
"I see we have the same style," I reply, gesturing to her hair and outfit. We are both wearing green with our hair done up in a braid. Except mine is disheveled and full of twigs and leaves.
Leah giggles. "I think you pull it off better than I do. The overalls make it so much better," she says, genuinely. If I was in the city, that would have been a sarcastic joke.
Leah gestures to the guy next to her. The one with the flawless hair who announced my approach.
"I'm Elliott... I live in the little cabin by the beach. It's a pleasure to meet you." He extends his hand towards me. We shake each other's hands in greeting. "Firm grip you've got there. I think you'll do great on the farm."
The girl with the bright orange bob, and the girl with glasses pipe up next.
"I'm Maru," The one with glasses says, "I've been looking forward to meeting you! You know, with a small town like this, a new face can really alter the community dynamic. It's exciting! This is Penny."
"Oh... Hello! I'm Penny..." the girl with the orange bob says shyly. She was unaware that Maru was going to put her on the spot like that.
"It's really nice to meet you guys," I tell them.
"I see you have a nice bouquet there in your pocket?" Maru points out.
"Ah right. I picked them on my way here," I pulled one out of the pocket and handed one to both Maru and Penny.
"Thanks," Maru politely takes the dandelion from my hand.
"Thank you!" Penny exclaims
I turn back to Elliot and Leah and hand them each a dandelion as well.
"I totally forgot these were in my pocket until Maru pointed it out. You guys want one?" I ask.
"No thank you. I am not a huge fan of dandelions." Elliot politely declines.
"This is a really nice gift! Thank you!" Leah says. "They aren't the prettiest flowers, but the leaves make a good salad."
I shove the rest of the dandelions back to the front pocket for the next few people I have yet to meet. Hopefully I have enough for all of them.
I walk over to the two boys playing pool in the centre of the room with the purple haired girl watching from the sidelines. They pause their game and look over at me when I approach. They exchange a glance between the three of them and decide to introduce themselves.
The blonde guy with a mullet decides to speak up first.
"Hey, I'm Sam. Good to meet you," he says as he extends his hand. I shake it politely and turn to the other two. He points to the girl with purple hair, "that's Abigail," then he points to the guy wearing all black sporting a gloomy expression, "and that's Sebastian."
"Yeah I thought I heard someone new was moving onto that old farm," Abigail begins, "It's kind of a shame, really. I always enjoyed exploring those overgrown fields by myself."
"Out of all the places you could have lived, you chose Pelican Town?" Sebastian questioned.
"I mean... free house and I get to live on my own..." I say unsurely, "Someone has to look after that old house."
"I accidentally brought some gifts if you guys want one." I reach into my pocket and try to hand them dandelions.
"You brought us presents? Thanks," Abigail says enthusiastically. I can already sense a weird dynamic from the three of them.
"Hmm... this is...interesting," Sam says.
Sebastian just takes one and doesn't say anything. I wasn't expecting much from him.
I decided to greet the final two on the couch before I returned to my seat at the bar. The burly, redhead jock and the girl with bright blonde hair that caught my eye. They are still sitting on the couch at the back. They seem awfully cozy together.
"Hey guys. Sorry to bother you two. Didn't want to leave ya out," I extend my hand as an invite for either one of them to take.
"Oh, hey. So you're the new guy, huh?" the jock asks as he leans forward on the couch to take my hand. I nod my head in response. "Cool. I'm Alex. I'll see you around." He gives me a nod and leans back on the couch. He puts his arms obnoxiously around the back of the couch and looks at the blonde next to him. I continue to hold out my hand for her.
"Oh... YOU'RE the new farmer girl?... I'm Haley," she takes a slight pause to look me up and down before continuing on, "Hmm... If it weren't for those horrendous clothes you might actually be pretty... Actually, nevermind."
I open my mouth to say something back in retaliation. I quickly decide against it and retract my hand.
Reaching into the front pocket of my overalls, I grab out some dandelions. Though, they don't seem like the kind of people to take one.
"Thanks!" Alex says, surprising me as he takes one.
"Ugh that's such a stupid gift," Haley says while crossing her arms. Her bright blue eyes flick up to look at me through her lashes. She radiates with sass and spoiled brat.
I watch her look me up and down again, but this time it doesn't feel judgy. I can't pin what that look was about but it made me feel weird. She must've also sensed the uncomfortable aura that has entered the room because she quickly looked at the wall next to her on the couch.
Taking that as a sign to leave, I nod my head in farewell to Alex. He nods his head back respectfully.
What a weird group of people, I say in my head as I walk back to the bar to get my spaghetti. As long as it felt like I was over there for, I was only there for about 30 minutes. Emily had just finished making the spaghetti when I got back.
I slump onto the bar stool and sigh as she slides the spaghetti in front of me.
"How'd it go? Were they friendly?" Emily laughs.
"Most of them. Except Haley. She's quite the feisty one."
"Yup. That's my sister for ya," she replies.
I stare at her in disbelief with a mouth full of spaghetti.
"THAT'S your sister?" I exclaim, "But you are so nice!"
"Yup. Polar opposites me and her. We get that alot."
I reach into my pocket and pull out Haley's dandelion she declined.
"This was supposed to be for Haley, but she clearly hates dandelions. I should have guessed.
"Thanks!" Emily smiles and takes it from my hand. She tucks it away into her pocket while walking away.
I look back at my food and continue to scarf it down. Slipping glances back over to the group here and there.

Early 1900’s- The Guthrie place was located on Moffitt Branch Road in Old Fort in McDowell County, North Carolina. Mr. Guthrie was a blacksmith.
Blacksmithing was essential to the survival of Appalachian communities. They were highly respected and played a vital role in everyday life. Families that settled in distant, remote corners of the mountains were often miles from the nearest blacksmith. Out of necessity, these remote, independent farmers learned the trade themselves. They often used their own anvil and forge to make and repair tools and household items.
Objects produced included: shoes for mules, oxen and horses; farming tools like plows, rakes, and hoes; guns and traps for hunters; and general use items like axes, hammers, nails, pots, pans, utensils, and knives.

thinking about the upcoming minecraft update that adds armor trims (among other things) and how i need to go into overdrive getting myself a complete netherite gear set asap before i am hit with needing over 100 diamonds to make One Set.
to start with, for a full set of diamond armor you need 24 diamonds (helmet is 5, chestplate is 8, pants are 7, boots are 4)
you'll need upgrade tablets to change diamond armor into netherite (plus the netherite ingot). every item piece needs a tablet as they're consumed on use. each tablet uses 7 diamonds to "copy" (craft a second of the same tablet). 28 diamonds for 4 tablets for just your armor, an additional 35 for your tools (pick, shovel, axe, sword, hoe, unless you're like me and have TWO picks then it'll be 42 diamonds).
and THEN to apply the new -trims- you'll need more tablets of the designs you want, which are also consumed on use and cost 7 diamonds per to craft, another 28 for 4 armor pieces.
that is a total of 115 diamonds to make one set of netherite armor and gear.
meanwhile on a fresh multiplayer server after hours spent spelunking i have found... One Diamond.
the diamond economy is going to be in shambles.
#tratser talks about stuff#minecraft#the trim concept is so cool but my god man 7 diamonds per tablet??? that is then destroyed!?

Complex MC:SM?
So basically it's a system for tools cause I don't feel like letting all this cubbbuish people walking around with swords.
This law is extremely strict in big cities, but outside of them it's harder to keep record of those who breaks it.
Let's starts with levels first:
C3 — lowest
Wooden pickaxe, hoe, shovel.
C2 — middle low
Wooden sword, axe.
C1 — high low
Stone pickaxe, hoe, shovel.
B3 — low middle
Stone sword, bow.
B2 — middle
Stone sword, crossbow.
B1 — high middle
Golden pickaxe, hoe, shovel, sword, axe.
A3 — low high
Enchanted tools.
Iron pickaxe, hoe, shovel, axe.
A2 — middle high
Potions "harm-causing", iron swords.
A1 — highest
Any diamond tool.
Basically it's a help-list to understand, which permission to carry certain tool around you need to actually use it. You need this permission ONLY if you planning on using the tool to attack someone or something. You don't need a permission to use a pickaxe to mine and etc., but you always will need a permission, if you carry any sword that is not wooden. When you attack someone in case to protect yourself, but you don't have a permission, that's fine as long as you just defend yourself.
Let's get to permissions now!
There are two types of permissions:
Permission with Warrior Education.
Permission without Warrior Education.
If you DON'T have Warrior Education, than:
Permission of level C2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level C1.
Permission of level B2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level B1.
Permission A2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level A2.
You cannot use tools level A1 OR enchant your tools by yourself. You still can buy and use enchanted tools if you have A2 Permission.
If you DO have Warrior Education, than:
Permission of level C2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level B3.
Permission of level B2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level A3.
Permission of level A2 gives you the right to use tools from level C3 to level A2 and A1 with additional check.
To get A1 permission, you need to get through special training, have no criminal record and certificate of complete psychological and physical health.
That's pretty much it. During S1Ep1-4 Jesse and the gang runs around without any of permissions, but they were saving the world, so everything is cool. Petra had an A2 Permission without Warrior Education.
During S1Ep5-8 Jesse§Petra had an A2 Permission with Warrior Education, Jesse also had A1 permission. The rest of the gang had an A2 permission without Warrior Education.
Tell me if ya want to know levels of Warrior Education and how it effects your battle abilities!:D

(So, this is fun for me so you're getting more short scenes via asks)
The loudspeaker on the train announced the next stop as Pelican Town. Ghost glanced at his one-way ticket. No, that wasn't quite right. He wasn't Ghost anymore. He was now retired. He was Simon, who moved across the country to escape the hectic city life and stress of a desk job that'd left him burnt out. He'd "inherited" a farm from his "grandfather" and finally decided to move away. That was the backstory witness protection had given him, together with a new civilian life.
He'd made it out of the military alive.
The train climbed an incline as he got his duffle bag out of the overhead compartment. Inside was all he'd left from his old life. That, and his first name. Everything else was gone. He could be a new man. Or likely not. He hoped his farm was somewhere outside of town. Interacting with any neighbors wasn't high on his list of things to do.
As the train slowed to a stop, he took in his surroundings. A stop in the middle of nowhere, one single roofed platform. Mountains on all four sides with a path leading down on the other side of the tracks. A single building that looked a little like a green house, that was just a little too big to actually serve that purpose. Lonely, Simon assessed. Just how he liked it.
He got off the train, ignoring the conductor's raised eyebrows. So, nobody much used this stop. Another point for the desolation he hoped to find. The helpful agent assigned to his case had given him a map, with his new home clearly marked and a few more annotations. Simon checked it again. Down the mountain, then a right, follow the path and he should be on his property.
It wasn't far. He didn't meet a single person, even though he spotted a yellow tent and a large house on his way. The farm itself looked abandoned. A long, long time abandoned. Weeds and trees grew everywhere, stones and boulders littered the ground between. He was barely able to make his way to the house, a rickety old structure that creaked in protest when he climbed up to the porch. At least the power was on inside, allowing him to turn on the lights. A table, two chairs, a tv and a bed. Modest, but at least he wouldn't need anything else for the start. There was also a chimney. That set his task for the rest of the day.
He poked around the house until he found an old tool cabinet. It only had worn looking basics, a hoe, a watering can, a pickaxe for some reason, a scythe and, finally, what he'd been looking for: an axe. He got to work cutting down one sickly looking tree. It felt nice to keep doing things with his own hands. Monotone, exhausting. Exactly what he needed to relax. Maybe he would take up fishing, too. There was a lot of water on his property.
Once he had enough wood to last him a while, he picked the driest pieces, stacking the rest in a lean-to that seemed made for that exact purpose. He lit a fire in the chimney. From his bag he took his old tea kettle, sooth crusted at the bottom from endless campfires already. He set it up over the fire. With the water, he made himself a cup of tea and rehydrated noodles with sauce for dinner, before he went to bed.
THE BEGINNING OF THE SDV AU HAS ARRIVED EVERYONE CALM DOWN

Update Log #2
Rushing /right/ into things since I am ever-so slightly approaching the midnight of 5/24/2024 (im so sorry) here's the new/fixed tools and fixed copper color :)
(left to right: claymore, staff, spear, knife, shovel, chisel, rounded shield, bucket, paxel, pickaxe, hoe, axe, bow saw, sling shot, and bow)
Now that I've caught your eye, time to quickly go over the huge technical stuff that doesn't have any fancy images to show *yet*: 1. It now is supported on Linux! (Windows and Apple too obviously) 2. Controller support! Play using whatever controller you'd like, or a standard mouse and keyboard. 3. There's now a saving state when quitting the game to ensure no file corruption when quitting to main screen
4. WE'VE STARTED THE SURVIVAL MODE AND WEIGHT-BASED INVENTORY SYSTEM LETS GOOOOOOO
Here's the WIP design of the HUD, followed by the concept draft for the inventory system:
Basically, as items are added to your backpack/player/whatever, they add to the total weight vs possible storage weight. similar to games like Fallout or Skyrim, but with the visual grid layout of inventories like Stardew Valley or Minecraft or Terraria. obviously as that list grows, itll expand the size of the GUI but if its *too* large itll have a scroll bar. no more worrying about having 347353 different flower types or random knick knacks. so long as you have the STR stat for it you're good to go!
Magazines/books are in the work now too! You can find and read tidbits of these across the world, ranging from top secret training manuals which give you permanent stat bonuses to learning how to make coffee or bits of lore and new customization options, they've got it all!
(also ignore the sentinels standing in as the temporary player models for now but i felt like including this image from a past update preview to visually explain what i meant by stats and STR/strength/carrying weight/leveling those things up and whatnot)
AND FINALLY THE REST
Updated Textures!
New textures and models
New unique items/tools/weapons/blocks
Implemented more blocks
About 15 new lore entries/logs to discover
2 new in game corpo logos and some related items, Daemonik Energy and NUD - Neural User Display (aka the brand that made the user HUD)
A bunch of new skybox elements such as the distant Orbital Satellites, Planets, and more
....a few more things i cant remember right now (i swear ill get better at these summaries - @recusantalchemist)
We are working on the details to have a musician now to work on our soundtrack with us.
All in all, a fantastic 2 weeks of progress that wouldn't have been possible without @andeditor7, like seriously this dude is a genius and I will hype my friend's technowizardry forever. P.s. we are thinking of changing the title to ReGrowAll instead of ReGrowal, let us know what you think. all in all im tired and missed the deadline by 16 minutes (sorry!!!) and im gonna pass out for the night. See yall with a more coherent summary on 6/8/2024! - @recusantalchemist

I've been calling this the Blade System AU and mentioning that Blades have Soul Weapons, but I haven't actually talked about who has what weapon, have I?
For the purposes of this AU, and my sanity, we are going to say that Soul Weapons fall into the basic category of weapons or tools from Minecraft. As much fun as I would have with rapiers and halberds and warhammers, Minecraft doesn't really... support that? Basically, all swords are swords.
The types of weapons and tools that can be Soul Weapons are: Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Hoe, Sword, Mace, Fishing rod, Shears, Trident, Bow, Crossbow
Obviously, Blades that are dps tend towards actual weapons, Blades that are healers tend towards the tools, and Blades that are tanks go either/or, depending on whether they are a takes-strong-hits type of defense or debuff-into-oblivion type of defense. There are some exceptions, you can have a healer Blade that is a sword or axe, but they're rare. "Sword" Soul Weapons are the most common type.
I know that I said that the Resonance-based enchantment was Sharpness, but not all tools/weapons can have that type of enchantment. I will specify if the enchantment varies base on Soul Weapon type.
So, for our Blades. We'll put this under cut because it's getting long:
Dream (Light, healer) – he gets a fishing rod. Dream has been very inventive with uses of fishing rods before, especially in manhunts (which aren't quite cannon to this version of c!Dream, but eh). Since Soul Weapons are unbreakable, so Dream can also use it like a flexible rod or staff. The fishing line also becomes razor wire if he wills it to be, which makes it quite useful as a garrote (the razor mode has the Sharpness aspect). This has the added bonus of being able to tangle someone in the line for fun (a spar, just messing around) or tangle someone up as a threat (if you move you'll get sliced to ribbons). I feel that a fishing rod tool fits best because it can be used for survival but it can also be used to find treasures. And Dream tends to have good luck when he isn't planning to actively put himself in horrible situations, so he's got Luck of the Sea :)
Punz (Dark, dps) – a sword, plain and simple. c!Punz likes walking the line between being very much a threat and also being kind of background. Like, everyone knows who he is/what he does so they don't really look beneath the surface. In addition to the Sharpness, he gets Looting.
Technoblade (Earth, dps) – I waffled a bit over this one, but I want to say axe? Techno doesn't use his Soul Weapon much, so he went and made a real version of his Soul Weapon, which is the Axe of Peace (also this gives layers to why Techno wants it back and doesn't like other people having it). Unlike the Axe of Peace, Techno gets the Sharpness from Resonance and doesn't need Unbreaking or Mending on a Soul Weapon. He does still have Efficiency V. I did think about choosing pickaxe in honor of Techno maybe pulling out his Soul Weapon after the failed execution, but I think he'd be even more paranoid about letting anybody from L'Manberg's Butcher Army seeing it. Also a Blade with good Resonance basically has a strength potion effect 100% of the time anyway... Techno is way too OP in this AU, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Philza (Ice, dps) – If Minecraft had a scythe, it would be a scythe (for Death theming). But we're going with a bow. A melee weapon means you have to be up in someone's face to kill them. A bow? Much more impersonal (death doesn't discriminate). He would have Power as the Resonance enchantment. Since he can make his own arrows with ice magic, has functional Infinity. Since he is an Aegis, with multiple elements available, he can do Flame, too. In fact, if he's not careful, Flame + Ice Arrow can make temperature shock explosions (similar to a rocket) when he hits something and the magic mixes. Phil on a warpath is very much the joke of "I didn't ask how large the room was, I said I cast fireball!"
Skeppy (Air, dps) – he gets a mace! Lots of plunging attacks when you're an air Blade that can fly. Also, while I don't really think of Skeppy as absolutely tiny in this AU, he's still pretty small, especially in comparison to Bad? Like 5' 0". So theres a juxtaposition whenever he pulls his weapon and it's huge and heavy and he's just swinging it around like a regular Player would a sword. Since it's a Mace, he gets Density as his Resonance instead of Sharpness. As an air Blade, he also gets automatic Wind Burst III.
Slime (Lightning, tank) – also a sword. He gets Sweeping Edge, in honor of the QSMP egg lore. I'm sorry that there's not more details, but neither he nor Las Nevadas arc!Quackity seem to have specific, notable weapons. Even the stuff in Pandora's Vault was Q borrowing the Warden's set.
Callahan (Water, tank) – a trident, to take advantage of his nature as a water Blade. He has Impaling for Resonance (please note that when you are fighting a water blade, you/the opponent is always going to be wet). Also, Riptide. No Loyalty though, because that's a bit pointless when the Blade can just dismiss the Soul Weapon and re-summon it in their hand.

I am so sorry this has happened to you 🫂 🫂🫂🫂 life is so hard in general rn but for people to deliberately trash a place on top of stealing and violating your space and sense of safety is evil. People are rooting for you, hun, and you're in their thoughts. 🫂🫂🫂🫂
Thanks! I actually REALLY needed that. Not getting to even talk about it to people I know in the real world makes it so much harder.
Today I desperately wanted to tell Mom about it when I called her, but as I was carefully (so as to not make her as upset as me) telling her, a nurse showed up. (She is having some new medical problem). The nurses and aides never even let her say goodbye, so not only did I not get to finish, I didn’t even get the usual “I love you” that I wanted so badly.**
I just wish there was something I could do! I found a padlock and put it on the tin building. A little late, but it they can’t just hit it again. I can’t lock the shop, barn, or coffin room because of the way they are constructed. I can’t secure things to stop thieves from just walking right in.
While I can’t put in a fence, I did dig out the wide gates we had back when we did put a fence up (to keep roaming dogs from killing our cats after a slaughter). It’s almost hilarious to have this gate there. On one side there is nothing to fasten it to, so it’s propped on the A-frame and dead car on one side and the other door of the gate it against a bit of old fence that’s only waist high. And both gates had the bottom beam break when I tried to get them free of decades of vines, so they are sort of wobbly looking. BUT they will serve as a tiny psychological barrier and, better maybe, if they try to go through or around they are likely to make a lot more noise. Maybe this time my dogs will be startled into making a fuss! ***
It’s not enough. I don’t know what would be enough. I get attached to things, especially things that were always there like a fiberglass mold I played in as a child or that clock that sat on the mantle. ****
Like, there has been a row of rocks atop one of the industrial fans. Pop put those “interesting” rocks there as he found them, over twenty years ago, and when I found them knocked off I got really upset and was desperately trying to find them in the grass so I could put them exactly like they were before.
Heck, some of the tools even had a name, like “Hugh” the bush ax. We never said “Get the bush ax”, we’d say “Get Hugh”.
I keep finding more things that were taken or wrecked. It’s draining for me, each time being hit by pain. Today I needed a hammer to do a little repair on Ryoga’s and, damn it, the hammer had been stolen. I’m probably going to be running into stuff for a long time, especially since I didn’t know where everything was to begin with.
**sigh**
I get stealing money or things of value, but with these it seems so random! The stole a “No smoking” sign! They stole a hoe but not the two foot long wrench or post hole digger beside it. They stole the handle for a small socket wrench out of the box but left all the fittings for it. They took a box with a drill and a vice grip, but left them on the ground. They didn’t take that clock I mentioned but smashed the glass and threw it in the bushes where it filled with rain water. They found a box of grandma’s jewelry(I didn’t realize it was out there*****), but while they likely stole something off the top, they didn’t even move anything below or just take the whole box.
I swear, I will always prefer venomous snakes to humans. At least I would always understand why a snake is biting me AND how to avoid it happening again! With people like this….
**Since today I spent the morning cleaning out Ryoga’s place, it may be so awful the call ended up short. My lungs feel like they are full of glue (despite the respirator I had on) and one of my eyes (despite the goggles) had a big ol’ glob of dust hurting it. Reading would have been a bit rough! Yesterday we finished Thief of Time , and today we were going to start Pyramids in out random Pratchett marathon. I’d hate to struggle through the beginning with all it’s new characters…
***Pest barks every time a leaf falls. If he’s awake he barks constantly. Since they had to walk by the dogs, most likely several times, hauling their stealings, I have to assume he was asleep. He does sleep damn soundly, maybe exhausted from always barking! LOL
****The fact I was the one that moved so much of this stuff out there after the floor collapsed in the house makes it worse. I had to put it somewhere, and honestly it all seemed safer there than the house in town. I never thought anyone would risk going out there. Heck, since that bookcase fell over I haven’t gone far into the tin building because it isn’t safe. Is it terrible I wish the other bookcase had fallen on these folks??
***** I’m not as upset about the jewelry as you would expect. No one in my family ever had much in the way gold or jewels. And absolutely not diamonds! Our jewelry may have a LOT of sentimental value, but others would call it “junk”. I know whatever they took wasn’t worth much money, and since I hadn’t really seen this stuff, it didn’t have the personal connection to me that things like Hugh had.

hi hello!! Any thoughts on Team Rancher and iron? I think there's something about Tango of the Tek being recognized as the "iron guy" and him giving Jimmy some of his iron in their first episode (I am insane). He's not much of a blacksmith like Impulse or Skizz but iron is natural in his hands and Jimmy can be impressed. And something about it being his equivalent to Nether gold. And something about him making polished axes and hoes and helmets for his Rancher that Jimmy appreciates but doesn't think further on and Tango is happy to see his gifts of something from his element recieved well
OOHHHHHHHHH MAN. the whole nether being and giving gifts instinct thing is one of my favorite widely accepted headcanons for them,, and I love the point you're making saying Tango's equivalent for that is iron and not gold...because youre so right !! he's the iron guy !! iron farms are his thing !!! You mention him giving Jimmy some of his iron in the first ep,,, yes the boots,,, but it's not even JUST that. oh man I'm so glad you brought this up. I rewatched Tango's dl pretty recently and besides him giving Jimmy that iron...he also TALKS about it multiple times those first few sessions. He says it to ETHO even. he's trying to trade Etho for some iron and he goes "oh come on four pieces?! I have to provide for my partner." and then later on in the season is mining for iron himself and goes "alright, I need more stuff for tools and I need more stuff for Jimmy." Which just....okay first of all Tango immediately deciding He Is The Provider in the relationship makes me lose it so much. but second...that gift giving instinct headcanon is sooo not even far off and youre SO REAL for connecting it to iron for Tango I love it. Especially because...like the examples you give at the end with tools and armor...thats another point to make. Tango would want his gifts to be FUNCTIONAL. They wouldn't have to be...I'm sure that some polished iron or gold nuggets or some trinkets would work their way into Jimmy's hands also... but for the most part? Tango would look to give gifts of USE...weapons tools armor appliances patented tango tek invention doo-dads...yes...yes...watching something be made easier for Jimmy by a gift Tango provided him? Addicting, he won't be able to stop once he starts.
#worm asks#cillpiines#thank you so much for sending something :')) genuinely <33#i love talking about them and i lOVE this headcanon so much#I am still sick and still bored folks if anyone has anything they'd like to share or ask or chat about :D !!!

He was, instead, a pious man who was shown praying and pouring libations to various seated gods and goddesses. In one scene, the seated moon god Nanna reaches toward the king to hand him a rod and a coil of rope. These were measuring tools that an architect needed in order to lay out the plan of a building. Ur-Namma was telling his subjects that the temple in which they stood when viewing the stela was his own work and had been authorized by the god Nanna himself. Ur-Namma was not just claiming to be the architect of buildings for the gods; according to what remains of the third register of the stela, he helped build them himself. We see the king following the god in a procession, preparing to go to the building site with an axe and hoe, along with a measuring compass and basket, all slung over his right shoulder.
-Amanda H. Podany. Weavers, Scribes, and Kings
really love this concept. you could argue its just symbolism but i like to imagine it as the ancient equivalent of the thing where a purely administrative person pretends theyre also doing work on the ground for working-man cred
