Another distress signal, another interruption. The crew is hesitant to help after the mess that resulted from bringing Chartreuse aboard, but one last pit stop before Polus won't be the end of the world, right?

"Is something wrong, Dad?" Lime asked as they all entered the room.

Brown turned to look between Cyan, Red, Lime, and Pumpkin. He didn't seem anxious, but he definitely wasn't excited either as he indicated to the console screen. "There's something strange on the sensors. Can any of you make anything of it?"

"What is that?" Cyan scrunched their nose at the screen before looking through the view window to a clear cosmos. "It looks almost like a cloud, but I don't see anything out there."

"I'd say it's a dark matter storm, but they don't pulse like that." Lime mumbled as he tapped on the screen then joined them in staring into the star-speckled darkness. "That's so weird."

"I was thinking the same thing but our systems are primed to alert us. There was no alert for this." Brown explained, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms. "Red, what do you think?"

Red paused under the attention before staring at the anomaly on the monitor for a beat. "I don't know. This isn't really my area and I've never seen anything like it."

Also, between this scene and the moment they show up in battle, they've apparently had the time to: - turn her entire lab/hideout into a blimp - cover the whole thing in giant tags of the firelights symbol, her cloud tatoos, and more - rebuild pow pow and fishbones, which were very much broken in act 2 - rally the firelights - cut and dye her hair - crop his top - pierce his ears - sew her a shark hoodie - cover her entire body in crayon drawings - accessorize their outfits - again, turn her lair, a giant airshaft, into a functional blimp

Maybe Ambessa gave her entire army the week off before battle. Maybe Jinx and Ekko were on unfathomable amounts of cocaine. We'll never know
