I’ve spent so long writing my own lore for Obey Me to fill in gaps that I have a like. Myriad of reactions to learning new information.

1. [canon information] is good! I’ll use that instead, it makes my writing so much easier cause now I have answers that I didn’t a while ago. (Nightbringer has been SO HELPFUL with characterization notes for the brothers early on)

2. [canon information] is… whatever. I rewrote over this scene anyways, so this doesn’t affect me at all and I’ll keep what I have for now. (There’s a handful of plot beats in the original game that I’m just not a huge fan/haven’t gotten to yet so I just have notes to fill the gap and will either keep or toss them as I read.)

3. [canon information] is wrong! Since when did that character’s name change, I— oh wait. Wait hang on. No that’s the canon name, I just had a different name for him in my notes. Well then. Carry on I guess, I’ll have to keep that in mind— (Good example of this is that Nightbringer might have just named the Demon King finally, but I already had a name picked out for him that I’ve been calling him for maybe 6 months. There’s also a ton of other hunks of information in my head that don’t match up with canon and I’ll forget isn’t correct, although some of them I’m unsure of because the story changes in-canon sometimes.)

4. I really don’t like [canon information] but it’s so minor I can just change the wording. (Only example I can think of is Diavolo using Lilith’s death as a bargaining chip to get Lucifer to swear loyalty to him. I’m not a fan of that plot beat so I just have it be that he offered to do it anyways and Lucifer swore loyalty to him on his own as non-necessary repayment.)

I’m the anon here. I’ve heard the stuff ceerosa mentions before about “learning rules is not helpful” but I’m sorry, I think this is a “not all brains work the same” thing, because while I’ve seen that be true for others it’s never been the case for me in language learning. And I’ve done immersion programs. Learning what the patterns are, like how articles change based on case in German or based on several different things including end of the word in Haitian Creole (seriously it’s so unintuitive) is how it stuck. Just having stuff thrown at me doesn’t help. I’m autistic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a factor; the other people I know who’ve told me they’re similar are autistic. Autistic brains process enough stuff differently I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a factor.

But yeah, just to be clear: I’ve seen and read that research. It doesn’t change that it’s not actually true for me.

And the particular way Duolingo throws stuff at you doesn’t seem to work well for anyone, in my anecdotal experience

Well... I think we were talking about slightly different things.

Some students have a desire for there to be reasons for language to work how it does, and they mean reasons that make logical sense today, not just "It evolved from this other historical thing". If there's a word that's an exception, they want there to be a reason for that too that isn't "Sometimes there are exceptions, particularly among very common words. Here's a list."

And from that perspective, yeah, we need to curb that impulse because it's not helpful for how languages actually work.

But yes, the pure immersion, no explanation stuff you get with some programs is not that useful, and the research supports this. It's an idea based on a shallow understanding of how small children learn their first language rather than studying how adults acquire foreign ones.

I did a couple of famous summer language intensives, and the way they typically worked was that there was a bunch of memorization homework for the kinds of things that native speakers just say without thinking about it (e.g. "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Christmas" for Americans—there is no why, and there is no innovation, just this set phrase). We then did conversation drills, some free practice coming up with novel sentences, and listened to natural examples in most of the day's classes...

But we had one class that was in English where they laid out the grammar patterns and such very clearly. If we'd been higher level, maybe they would have explained in the target language, but we weren't, so to get us ahead faster, this part was all in English.

Brains do vary, but I'm not sure they vary that much when it comes to these parts of language learning. Some people despise practicing speaking, for example, but they'll still improve more if they're forced to do these tasks they hate than if they do ~for text study~. Another learner who hates the task less might progress faster, but they're not a categorically different type of learner.

A bigger factor is that the really hard part with language study is staying excited about it and sticking with it, so if you enjoy one style of explanation or practice more, having more of it will make you actually stick around, and I'm sure that does vary a lot by learner.

I’m definitely privileged in my job market as an English teacher bc I’m a white native speaker (color really does matter a LOT here sadly)

BUT jokes on you because I don’t have an ✨ American Accent✨ I have an 🌈 Autistic Accent🌈 which means I’ve absorbed different bits and pieces from the many places I’ve lived, places I’ve traveled, and people I know from all over the world, ESPECIALLY and INCLUDING broken second-language Taiwanese English, so half the time I don’t even use verb tenses anymore!

So your kids WILL have terrible grammar as my students but at least I’m a great teacher in every other way so pick your poison

I’m in a weird kind of mood… and I don’t really know what it is.

Last night my back was hurting for some reason. Probably sitting too long, but it never went full on spasm mode, just some standard annoying pain that wasn’t enough to be concerning but enough to keep me awake. So I was scrolling through Reddit, maybe the medicalschool sub. I can’t really contribute much. But anyway, I saw this eval somebody posted where an intern (first year resident) gave feedback that was essentially:

Lower than average situational awareness affected interactions with team and patients. Usually needed to be told or instructed in simple tasks 2-3 more times than the average student. It’s his first rotation but general disorganization, clear lack of interest in learning technical skills, nervous energy, and inappropriately timed questions made it difficult to trust him as a reliable team members

If reading this you thought “holy fuck that sounds like he might be autistic” then we are on the same page.

Obvs I’m not diagnosing, and the eval could be projections etc. But there were no specific instances cited and the general complaints are both normal when a) somebody is super anxious because it’s their first ever time doing medicine and it’s GENERAL SURGERY one of the top most difficult clerkships, and b) somebody is autistic??

What’s the student supposed to do? Especially over the subjective things. “Clear lack of interest” could have been an introvert being quiet and unsure how to insert themselves. Maybe last time they inserted themselves, they got a weird vibe- maybe it was inappropriate timing but they couldn’t piece together when it would’ve been more appropriate because, idk, autism? Or general lack of communication because how tf are you supposed to know??

Or maybe the “lack of interest” was a blank facial expression when they’re focusing on learning those “simple” technical skills. And then getting annoyed when they ask for help on these skills so they don’t fuck it up? What the fuck?

ANYWAY obvs I’m annoyed and the eval is non-actionable, (2/5, has mastery of English as a language but does not appear to know how to apply this mastery in a constructive, actionable manner. Does not give any specifics when asked for specifics). But, that isn’t really the point. Not is the point anything to do with the annoying details about how med Ed can be toxic and generally unsupportive.

Nah this morning I was scrolling through YouTube shorts and Jessie Paege came up. Idk much about her as a person tbh but the one off videos I see here and there make them seem like a person I’d probably like to be around. She’s recovered from anorexia (fuck yeah), and the video I saw of them was basically a before and after which I think was mostly about showing off their confidence and happiness etc. And they do look more confident and happier both after recovery and coming out / living more authentically herself.

I like her aesthetics and see a lot of myself in her in many ways. Which makes seeing those videos more difficult for me. When I see enough of my own traits in somebody who has had a similar experience, I start to compare myself to them a little more- and not really them but the presented version of them.

And I really don’t know how I feel because I can’t find words that adequately describe it. But it’s like, little things like how obvious my autism is to most people but I didn’t really didn’t pick it up (over a few short videos??) from her. Or like, comparing “recovered” bodies wondering why, even before I recovered into my size, my overall shape is just. Not socially the norm. Whereas their overall shape is pretty normative for the current social climate (which is also kind of fucked up because why is there a normative body anyway? Obviously fatphobia and the like but like why a normative shape??)

And that often spirals a little. I’m not saying she doesn’t get any hate (if you’re an online personality you’re getting hate; if you’re even a little bit fem at least some of that hate will be about your body). But I am saying that if somebody with MY body size and shape, even if posted the same kind of body-focused stuff, there would be far fewer positive comments.It just is.

And I wouldn’t take any of the positivity away from Jessie, not at all. Again I don’t really follow her or know her super well, idk if she’s ever done anything problematic, and I don’t know her heart. But they seems genuinely to be a good person who deserves love and kindness and to be celebrated for their achievements and resiliency. Just gotta be VERY clear on that.

I don’t really know what it is, but to be these two things - comparing myself / how I experience divergency to somebody else’s divergent experiences AND seeing how divergences are treated in medical education - seem linked to me. Maybe it’s because any form of *showing* divergence is pretty harshly judged in med ed, and then in main culture you can be divergent and show the divergence, but only in specific ways.

I am responsible for a school wide (and possibly county wide) rule. I was the most autistic kid in my secondary school, a walking hall of anxiety. When I would walk into the school, past the entire length of this school, I would have my head bowed down. The school had a dark blue theme on uniform and they carried this over to the painting of trimmings. Windows and doors had a very dark blue paint around them. The windows themselves were also dark on the outside, like the stuff you get in some car windows so people can’t just see into your car but you can still see out if it.

You could probably figure out where this is going. One day I’m walking into school, head down, and I don’t realise that someone has opened a school window off the latch. It cracks right into the top of my head, blood gushing everywhere. Idk how much you know about head wounds, but they don’t have to be serious to bleed a lot. So I immediately started crying from the shock, about 13 yo maybe (year 8/9 in English schools) and my classmates tell me to go straight to the nurse. It didn’t need stitches and did dry up after maybe half an hour. They still didn’t let me go home though which sucked.

Fast forward to our teacher telling us that due to an “incident” the school has decided that windows are not allowed to be opened all the way, and must be kept on their latch. There was a rumour around school that health and safety teams were extending that rule to other schools in our county. I never did find out the truth on that part.

I sometimes think about that during particularly hot Septembers and hope they eventually found a way to keep those students cool, if they didn’t reverse the decision after I left. Moral of the story is no matter how bad you feel, don’t stare at the ground while you walk; Keep an eye out for rogue window corners; and School sucks because they won’t let you go home after a head wound no matter how much it bleeds.

I’m a 23 year old college student who is majoring in History. I’m kind of a huge nerd, I love subjects like History (duh), Literature, Politics, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, but also Comedy (i find fascinating to analyze it, even if that kinda defeats the purpose, sue me). I kinda only watch sitcoms, actually, maybe because of how obsessed I am with the genre (more on that later). 

Being Brazilian I may reblog/talk about Brazillian issues/stuff and most definetely will reblog things about Turma da Mônica (brazil’s most beloved comic book series that shaped the childhood’s of at least 3 generations now since the 60s/70s), my longest autistic special interest. Oh, yeah, I’m also neurodivergent, AuDHD and also have persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia gang rise up! or dont, ik its hard and tiresome) and fibromyalgia.

Another special interest I’m unhinged about is The Sims, I use Tumblr mostly bc of it, so I’ll definitely reblog stuff about it, maybe if everythings works out I will even create a side simblr, who knows. I love historic/fantasy gameplay, would be cool to share with people.

Idk if its a SI or just regular cat owner thing, but I’m definitely obsessed with these little guys. Speaking of cat lover, I love Taylor Swift. Like, I’m very casual about most music I consume, but she is the exception, I just... feel SO MUCH with her songs. Idk, idk... She also makes me feel things on a sapphic way, though I’m no g*ylor or hetl*r (rlly dont care about who she dates, just here for the art). But not in a wow I wanna bang this celebrity I have a crush on, cuz I dont wanna bang no one, cuz I’m acearo. Just, dont swing that way (or any way, really /hj cuz i'm actually gray-bi-romantic but its very rare, so i'm usually not swinging at all lmao).

I really like to read, but it has been tough to keep the habit with depression and disabled adult life knocking at my door and kicking my ass... currently I’m finishing reading all Jane Austen’s work (i love her sense of humor and analyses of human psychology) in portuguese, but I plan to eventually read the original stuff in english. I just really love stories and storytelling as an art form, maybe that’s why I love to write. I’m obsessed with fanfictions, actually, been writing since I was 11, never anything in english, but who knows, actually creating and participating in tumblr may be the first step. I mostly write about tv shows I’m obsessed about (though I did write some Turma da Mônica Jovem fanfiction...... thank god I deleted, it was terrible, tho in my defense I was still a preteen) and I mostly watch sitcoms so.... About that...

My favorite sitcom ever is probably How I Met Your Mother (it was literally what i needed when i was going through a really rough patch) and BoJack Horseman (yes, cartoon sitcoms totally count, shut up). I’d say my first sitcom love was The Simpsons, my biodad had a lot of dvds and tapes from the golden seasons and the fondest memories of my childhood were us watching together and laughing like two idiots. My first fandom was iCarly (i was a preteen okay), but I wasnt a big fan of the revival/reboot (yes I was team seddie, no it has nothing to do with it, I gave it a shot, but just didnt vibe with it). I also love The Office, That 70′s Show, Never Have I Ever, Community, Our Flag Means Death, The Sex Lifes of College Girls, One Day at a Time and The Good Place.

I’m pretty sure the only other shows that I got obsessed with that weren’t sitcoms were Once Upon a Time and Lucifer, two shows that were quite humorous with its wacky premises (fairytales in real life???? the devil taking a vacation in LA??? i mean, c’mon!!). I’m loving the Percy Jackson disney adaptation, it was my favorite YA book series and it always bummed me that the movie adaptation was so terrible, I'm glad we finally have a great adaptation and can't wait for more seasons to come!!!

I’m very talkative (you dont say?? 😮 /s) and a total extroverted that really loves to make friends, but my communication difficulties really do shine on long distance conversation... be phone calls, video calls, emails, text messages etc... So, although I’d love if you shoot me a message, bc I love to make friends, I also am not the best texter, so dont expect someone who always immediately answers you right back cuz they are online — please dont take it personal, it has nothing to do with who is messaging me and everything to do with my disability mkay? And yes, I am trying to work this shit out in therapy, but you know... growth aint linear. When shit hits the fan, the first thing that I lose is the ability to answer text messages 😭 idk i just stare at them, they stare at me, i combust and die, the end.

my third grade teacher was probably the most amazing teacher i ever had. she looked at the little autistic weirdo in her class who zoned out a lot, distracted other students by chatting, and couldn’t be normal if my life depended on it...and she was the first person to tell me ‘normal is overrated.’ she told me that albert einstein was a genius who couldn’t tie his shoes using the bunny ears method--the same one i was unable to master. 

instead of scolding me for talking all the time, or being easily bored because i found the lessons too easy, she sat me in front of the class and had me read aloud to the other students while she did mysterious teacher things nearby. unlike the teacher i had the year before, she never fixated on my eating issues or lectured me about being ungrateful. she didn’t treat me like a charity case.

she worked behind the scenes to get me into an early computer camp, when nobody i knew could come close to affording a computer--and then when a kid in town was getting a new computer and looked to donate his old one, my elementary school recommended me as the recipient. i’m certain that mrs. furnia had something to do with that as well.

she talked about me as though i were special in some magical way that really made me believe it, saying ‘you have to go to college’ with such emphasis that it felt inevitable, my destiny set at age nine. knowing how precocious i was, a tiny mimic and a sponge, i can imagine what she saw in me. but she was still the first to say it, outside of my own family: that underneath the five separate disorders i would one day have diagnoses for, lie a shimmering potential. 

the news today reminded me of her, polio in new york slipping through our vaccination efforts and what that could mean. mrs. furnia walked with a very pronounced limp, and she was probably another first for me--the first physically disabled person i knew as a child. she set the kind of example that i think helped us all become better tiny people, matter-of-fact about her limp but expecting our respect. 

i remember her telling us about a disease called polio, that had afflicted many, many children just like her before there was a vaccine. she told us how lucky she was to have survived with just a limp. we learned how lucky we were to have vaccinations that protected us, and how much the world could change, could progress, in such a short time. 

it baffles me that so many people deliberately avoid vaccines now. even understanding the religious objections, the historical bad behavior of doctors and pharmaceutical companies...it’s hard for me to wrap my head around compared to the risks. deep down i’ll always be that little kid hearing the story of how i was safe from polio, the scary disease that almost took the life of a child who would one day grow up to be a woman who taught me that i mattered. 

today the news is all about a british monarch i didn’t personally know, and i’m enjoying the serious takes and the funny ones--though i definitely am struggling to process the fact that charles will actually be king now. it does not compute. but other news sidetracked me into thinking about someone i did personally know, someone i still think about fondly sometimes, and i needed to share that.

school was not easy for me in many ways. i didn’t learn much outside of english and math, bullying turned me from a cheerful performer to someone trying not to be seen or heard, and undiagnosed adhd took me from a gifted student to a failure by the time i arrived at college. but even with all of that, even with my firm belief that some kids could thrive in nontraditional schooling where public school is hell for them...i had some great teachers. i’m grateful for that.

Y’know what, I agree! I think watching Shakespeare is great! I’m an actor; I need people to watch Shakespeare if I mean to make any money!

Even as an English student, I often put on a recording of a play as I read along with it for my initial read-through. (Especially useful when you’re reading a lot of plays and will be tested on your memory of who says which lines!)

But ultimately, I get the most from plays when I read them. I think that watching them or reading alongside a production is a great way to experience them for the first time, especially if you don’t read a lot of early modern literature, but I don’t think you’re going to pull as much from them by watching them as you would if you really slowed down and read them.

For me, close, deep, critical reading takes time. I think you can train your brain via practice to pull more from quickly reading something than most people, but I don’t think that anyone—no matter how much they read—will ever get the maximum amount of death out of reading quickly.

Sit down, read slowly, and read the footnotes as well as the text! Maybe even annotate as you go! By doing so, you’re not just giving yourself more time to absorb the text but more time to think about what it means to you. This is how you start drawing connections between different pieces of media and tying it back to your lived experience. That’s how the fun stuff happens. That’s where you start becoming a writer and an artist in your own right.

It doesn’t have to be particularly serious:

What if Benedick *did* kill Claudio? Wait, Much Ado is a Shakespearean comedy. I’ve read Twelfth Night… I know that the comedies love cross dressing! What if *Beatrice* got to have her comedic heroine crossdressing moment as *she* kills Claudio?

Hotspur’s so full of energy… in a kind of autistic way. Like me! Oh my god, what would he do if he *were* me and had to work my restaurant job? Probably punch his boss!

The murderers in Richard III are Rosencrantz and Guildenstern-levels silly. …what if they ARE Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?! Mid-15th century Hamlet where Ros & Guil get off the ship from Denmark in England as intended, but not-quite-king-yet Richard intercepts them and has them kill his brother since they probably don't have any really intense personal feelings on the matter as foreigners?

Or it can be a little bit more serious:

Reading The Argonautica, I noticed that the scene where Medeia and Jason meet at the temple of Hecate is really similar to that scene in Marlowe’s Hero & Leander where Hero and Leander meet in the temple. I know that Marlowe took inspiration from Musaeus’ version of the same story, so I wonder if that detail would be the same if I read a direct translation of Musaeus’ Hero & Leander? Maybe this is an example of how different story telling traditions borrow from what came before them or maybe it’s coincidental! (Or maybe Marlowe is referencing the Argonautica??)

Macbeth has an almost invisible subplot about Edward the Confessor! Malcolm mentions it just once in that scene with Macduff and it gets overshadowed by the rest of the scene but it’s interesting to me! I wonder why Malcolm mentions it? Is it kind of his goal to be a divine healer king like Edward but for a whole nation rather than individual subjects?

And maybe you write fanfiction about it! Or a research paper (if you’re that kind of nerd /j)! Maybe you just sit with it because it’s fun to think about these things! These are thoughts you’re probably not going to have time for if you just watch a play once rather than really getting into the nitty-gritty details.

The one thing I’ll (maybe) disagree with OP on is that I don’t think everyone has to read these plays. I think everyone should experience reading one at least once (I don’t know that I would’ve discovered how much I love them if I hadn’t!) but if you prefer to watch them, you do you! I’d even say that there’s a lot you can get from seeing them on stage that might not occur to you while reading—blocking details, tone of voice, maybe even sarcasm you would’ve missed if you were just reading. But I agree strongly that there’s real value to be had from reading dramatic literature rather than just watching it. Those lines *are* there for a reason and there might be things that you pull from them that nobody has ever pulled from them before.

I’ll leave you with this: the process of close reading shouldn’t be boring, whether you’re reading Shakespeare or something else entirely. Let yourself have fun with literature, be it a book, a play, or even an academic journal article. There’s almost always something to be gained from really involving yourself with a piece and pulling everything you can from it!

every time someone says that Shakespeare is better seen than read just know I am shaking and shuddering and forcing myself not to argue because GOD. God. Because yes, I mean, Shakespeare didn’t even write down his plays in their entirety; they weren’t written for publication; they were quite literally written to be performed. AND. And Every story has meaning. Every word in a story has meaning. That’s just true, and it’s inevitable that one is going to miss some of that meaning if one is watching it onstage. Acting is not meant for analysis unless one is pretentious or a theatre critic. Acting is not designed for analysis. One doesn’t even have footnotes if it’s onstage! and I personally suffer when I don’t have footnotes for Shakespeare. Footnotes are my best friend and I love them. but that would still be fine if all the Shakespeare we see onstage was good Shakespeare but oh my god there is so much bad Shakespeare in the world. Holy goddamn fuck there is a lot of Shakespeare where the actors clearly have no idea what they’re saying or sexual assault is implicitly condoned or everyone’s just reciting lines or the entire concept of the show is apologizing for doing Shakespeare or Juliet is stuck in a register three octaves above sounding like a normal person and oh my god. Oh My God. YES, reading Shakespeare is hard. YES, it’s going to be boring at some points. Everything is boring at some points. But it’s not a magic cure-all to watch it onstage. Onstage Shakespeare has a whole other set of problems. One medium does not have a monopoly on Shakespeare. One medium is not inherently better. There are different things that you will get out of what medium you experience it through. I can’t think of a good conclusion and I’m losing my gol-dern mind so I’m just going to leave it here. Read some Shakespeare. Good night.

Geralt frowned. "I don't want to go, Eskel."

"C'mon dude, please? I need you there to be my spotter... and my wingman."

"Take Lambert."

"Nah, girls like him now. They think he's some kind of Tik Tok sexyman."

"Never say those words in that order to me again. Please."

"Fine. If you agree to come with me tonight."

Geralt did not want to go to the gym. He was tired from working all morning and his medication was starting to wear off; he'd been on Zoom for seven straight hours hashing through the details of the Zoo's grand re-opening at the end of the month with the new director of operations. He was braindead and over-stimulated and grumpy. He wanted to drink something uncharacteristically fruity and alcoholic and hit the hay early.

But he was a good sibling, and good siblings helped out when they had the opportunity. So Geralt grabbed his gym bag, refilled his water bottle, and followed Eskel out the door.

Geralt was going to scream.

He needed to go. He needed a minute alone to breathe and process things. Not even a low-dose Ritalin could save him now because he was already on the road to a complete meltdown and he was still stuck at the fucking Planet Fitness.

He nearly jumped out of his skin when a soft voice asked from his left side: "Hey, are you alright?"

Geralt's eyes snapped to the stranger's face. A pair of blue eyes were gazing at him with concern and - not pity, but definitely something similar. Empathy, maybe?

"No."

"Do you want to go outside and grab some air? Or we could go sit over by the yoga mats, it's pretty empty right now."

"I don't know you."

Geralt realized how rude and brusque he sounded immediately after the words left his mouth, but he was being honest. He had no clue who this twunk - because no straight man wears a hot pink crop top to the gym unless they're rushing a frat - even was.

"I know," the man smiled, unperturbed. "But I get the same way sometimes when the world gets to be too much. You're breathing wrong and your eyes don't seem to be able to focus very well. Do you need some water or juice?"

Geralt felt very silly and very small, but he managed to ask: "If it wouldn't be a bother, may I have some juice?"

"Yeah," the twunk grinned. "My name is Jaskier, by the way. Right over here..."

Jaskier led Geralt to a quiet corner of the gym and slipped two pouches of Capri Sun from his tie-dyed bag. "How did you know?"

"I have the same problem," Jaskier winked. "ADHD, right?"

"Mhm."

"Haven't eaten anything substantial today, have you?"

Geralt realized that he hadn't eaten anything other than a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast before work and felt very silly once again. "How could you tell?"

"The thousand mile stare," Jaskier answered truthfully. He finished his Capri Sun and tossed the little foil pouch into a nearby trash receptacle. "Respect the pouch! Anyway, it happens to me during class sometimes and my students always remind me to have a snack or take a few sips of my lemonade."

"You're a teacher?"

"Professor! I teach a few English and Music History classes at Oxenfurt, but mostly I'm a member of the research faculty."

"Cool," Geralt smiled. "I'm the head zookeeper over at Kaer Morhen Public Zoo; I'm a monster specialist and I do a lot of their wild animal and monster rehab."

"That's so awesome!" Jaskier declared. "What's your favorite monster?"

Geralt opened his mouth to release a long string of facts about Wyverns before biting his lip and shaking his head. "I don't want to get into that right now, I'm sure you have other places to be."

"I really don't," Jaskier leaned back, crossing his legs in front of him. "And I love hearing people info-dump."

"Me too," Geralt smiled again, more shyly this time. "Anyway... I love Wyverns."

"See you tomorrow!" Jaskier beamed, waving as he made his way across the parking lot. "Can't wait to talk more about those endangered Endrega species!"

"Yeah," Geralt waved back. "And about your thesis!"

"Who's that?" Eskel asked, bumping shoulders with his brother.

"I made a friend. Also we're going to Arby's right fucking now because I haven't eaten all day and I'm starving."

"Aye, aye," Eskel nodded. Then he grinned salaciously at his brother and wiggled his eyebrows, "They have the meats."

"Dork."

Geralt leaned the passenger seat all the way back and let his eyes stay closed during their ride to the fast-food joint.
