I've been lying to myself. I told myself to move on, but my mind, body, and soul can't. For the first time in a long time, I felt reality reality of hugs, kisses, and true emotions that I thought were frozen, but I lost the one person God has chosen. The nightmare became vicious and ferocious. Destroying our emotions. We fell and become broken. I still feel the connection. Something my heart can't continue to reject. This is so depressing I lay empty and restless for losing the love that always kept me breathless.

An underlying feeling of brokenness has plagued me most of my life. And in a world that considers broken things to be of no value, struggling with the reality of broken bodies, broken minds, broken relationships, and broken lives can feel utterly helpless. We need to understand that we are indeed imperfect people living in a broken world; but even so, God takes great delight in us, rejoicing over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). We may not understand why brokenness exists in our lives, but we can hold on to the promise that He will work all things together for His good (Romans 8:28). Now, that does not mean all things will feel good... [but] Romans 8:28 means that God will weave our brokenness together in such a way that the result-- on this side of eternity or the other-- is good.  We can take our brokenness to Him and know His heart for us is restoration. And that is a gift He ultimately gives us as we put our hope in Him.

Shattered mirrors
on the living room floor,
a place where mirrors —
in any form —
should not be.
Lying and laying —
up and down the room
they reflect each whole thing,
its completeness,
as if the very sight
could harm us —
so perfect, so unreal
from their perspective.
I drown on the floorboards,
you waste my tears
by drying them.
All the lies,
the lies you told,
up and down the room
like mirrors, broken ones.
Truth reflects nothing
unless it’s broken.
Outside this room,
you roam the hallways,
searching for feelings within.
Dating a lie,
dangerous and monstrous
like your mind and soul.
Survival is a matter of time
and a dance on balanced sheets.
The shattered pieces still lie there —
waiting for completeness to end,
chaos ensuring perfection.
The lies fall still
in the afternoon light
that rests on the floorboards.
Breathing easily now,
vanishing glimpses —
truth fades slowly,
holding no place
between you and me
and all the lies you told.

We’re not really broken. We just haven’t reached that wholeness that lies underneath.

The Damage Of Selfish Wonders #173
In your heartache, a story unfolds
Of conclusions drawn from tales untold
Your mind wandered, selfish and unkind
Leaping to judgments, leaving love behind
Without a question, you assumed the worst
Never giving me a chance to be heard first
Now we are apart, our love laid to rest
All because of doubts that put us to the test
Your wandering mind, a barrier so tall
Preventing truth from breaking through it all
You chose to walk away before the end
Without giving our love a chance to mend
But I hold no grudge, I wish you well
May happiness in your heart dwell
If only you had spoken true
Maybe a different path we could pursue
So farewell, You ,may your journey be bright
I'll cherish the memories, both joy and plight
And though we part, I hold no regret
For in the end, we did our best, I bet.
Yours Faithfully🌻

“The truth is, God can, and if we let him, he will actually prepare us to stand before him face to face in the midst of our weakness, in the midst of our brokenness and he can do this even without removing our weakness. He can do this even without removing our brokenness. The question is, does he have your permission to do this in the midst of weakness and brokenness even if he doesn’t take away your weakness and brokenness.” Father Mike Schmitz
