Just look at Penelope.
This poor woman, all in the span of one night, watched a heart-wrenching ballet about love, decided to accept a loveless marriage, had her dance interrupted in front of the entire ton by the man she has always been in love with, got rejected by the only suitor she had, got scolded by her mother for it, left the ball in tears, then had the man she loved chase down her carriage to confess his feelings, got fingered on their way home, proposed to, and now she has to go to Bridgerton house when Eloise is still mad at her ALL WHILE STILL KEEPING SECRET THAT SHE’S WHISTLEDOWN.
I’d be fucking overwhelmed too.

I have a theory about Lady Tilley Arnold in the show and how it might be an indication that the next season is Benedict's (please gods, let it be Benedict's), here we go
SPOILERS for Bridgerton season 3 and An Offer From a Gentleman under the cut!
Right, so I was pretty mad when they introduced yet another love interest so flippantly for Benedict, but I rewatched the portions with Lady Tilley and there are two things that go unexplained.
1. She mentions that she had a husband, and had had several seasons to mourn him already
2. She was arguing with a solicitor when Benedict called on her, and never properly explained why
I'm hoping Part 2 will give us more insight, but here's what I make of this, and the book comes into play now.
What if Lady Tilley is a shoe-in for Araminta?
The circumstances do seem similar: Araminta also married Sophie's father, the Earl, shortly before he died. Tilley didn't mention having children at all, so either she hid the fact that she had daughters from Benedict, or she doesn't have children in the show at all.
And funnily enough, not having step-siblings would really add to Sophie's story, because Tilley might certainly be bitter about the fact that she didn't get to produce a rightful heir to her husband's estate and the only remaining person with an actual blood relation to the Earl is Sophie. It would also serve as such a great plot point for why Araminta/Tilley might torture Sophie in the show.
On to the second point, Tilley was arguing with a solicitor. When Benedict asked, she just explained it away saying he was overcharging her, but what if it was more?
What if, like the books, the late Earl left everything to his ward Sophie and Araminta/Tilley was trying to get the solicitor to hide or edit out that portion in her favour? Araminta did conceal and lie about the will to Sophie in the books, so it isn't too much of a stretch to have that in the show too.
If we assume Tilley married her husband in her early 20s, he died in her mid 20s, and she's now in her early 30s, it still gives us a huge time span for her to raise (read: enslave) Sophie for more than half a decade.
ALSO, in a promo reel where Bridgerton cast members were associating this season with emojis, Luke Newton said 'drama masks'. Yes it could be about Penelope's mask as Whistledown coming off, but Benedict and Sophie's storyline is centered around the masquerade ball, which also involves masks.
Eloise's midnight deadline for Penelope to reveal herself (in the part 2 teaser) also seems significant to me because it's a converging point for the drama. And Sophie escaped the masquerade ball at midnight in the book.
I'm thinking that, at some point during the last two episodes, Violet hosts her masquerade ball. Benedict meets Sophie like the books, even leaves Tilley alone to dance with this mystery woman. And when midnight approaches, Penelope reveals herself as Whistledown.
There will, naturally, be pandemonium. Benedict might even have to rush to Colin and Pen's rescue, he's a Bridgerton after all. And in this chaos, Sophie leaves. That very night, Tilley realises that Sophie went to the ball. Not only is she angry that her little servant flouted her orders, she is mad because Sophie stole her man's attention away. And she casts Sophie out (we may actually see this whole POV in the next season though, so hmph).
But I think this season will end with Benedict coming out of the masquerade utterly smitten, and vowing to find the woman in the mask who has won over his heart. And that's how his season will begin.
Unless they decide to break my heart and pursue Francesca's story.
Ah well. Let's see haha.

Hi,
So here is link to the post I mentioned in the comments of another ask. This was written short after the part 2 premiere and the paparazzi pics. It’s still the explanation that makes the most sense to me.
https://www.tumblr.com/indiaalphawhiskey/754106999671767040/casting-and-show-aside-the-promo-run-for-season-3
I also wanted to say that my blog at the OP’s blog are both primarily about the boyband One Direction and Larry, as shipping Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. If you don’t like that, then our blogs might not be for you. If you come to our inboxes with questions, be nice. And FYI for new tumblr users: you cns filter the content of any blog by selecting specific tags or using the search bar to keyword search within a blog. So you can find all of the Bridgerton and Lukola content on my blog or India’s that way.
💜
yes everyone be respectful and thank you for sharing 🥃

I’m on the ✨ #LukolaEndgame ✨ hopes and dreams delulu (but hopefully not actually delulu) train 🚂 just as much as the next person here
BUT ALSO
I wouldn’t be mad at this?? 👀
Like…. He’s a handsome man, and if Nic intends to respectfully climb him like a tree, I GET IT. 👀🤤
See below for more Lukola positive thoughts though…
👇🏼
SO Nic has already mentioned Eamon by name (as a friend) in at least 2 or 3 interviews during the recent press tour… She’s also said she very much believes in the friends to lovers trope that is just as applicable here…. Andddddddd I’ve seen Nic hug A on video in a very friendly way (not that she wouldn’t hug her or be nice to her even if she didddd want L rn) and I also just saw someone’s theory on the Lukola tag about Nic’s “shit or get off the pot” paddle hit side eye vibes potentially being about her just giving L friendly advise on his stuff with A, which I can technically see as plausible…
So yeah, I know those ideas are gonna pisssss people off, but I’m just saying…. It would be a gorgeous love story for Lukola to one day be endgame, BUT in the meantime, I can see their current situations being all of thisss^
NOW in terms of my personal hopes and dreams of Lukola actually being endgame… I see it the way I see #Beliza 😅
Is anyone here from THOSE days?? When we used to look at #Bellarke and say, “if Bellamy is not supposed to be in love with Clarke, someone needs to tell Bob to stop looking at Eliza like that” (because we thought it was justtttt an acting choice)???
And then BAMMM
Out of absolutely fucking NOWHERE (I mean for some of us crazies that were following too closely it wasn’t 100% out of nowhere… but I knooooow that’s how the majority felt) they’re about to be filming the last season of the show and they’re just like yeah so GUESS WHAT GUYS I MARRIED MY BEST FRIEND and everyone is like ??? 🤯 I mean y’all were definitely close friends when you were shooting and doing promo every year for sure but like when the fuck did you become actual bestttt friends irl??? When the fuck did you start dating???? When did you even decide you’d get married?? Cause just a few months ago we were still seeing both of your other public shipssss!!! (Let’s also fully jump over THAT drama 👀) And then they were just like, so ummm we kissed after our first date and we just KNEW this was ITTTT so we got married 2 seconds later cause like why wouldn’t we?? We are best friends and soulmatesssss ✨🌈🦄 🥰🦞
Anyway
That’s how I imagine Lukola to one day become official 🤷🏻♀️ Like they’ll date other people openly, and then suddenly OUT OF THE BLUE they’re MARRIED and everyone’s fucking confused AND elated! Lol
I do wonder if already having been so intimate with each other as Polin (unlike Bellarke, which, let’s just not think about that anymore either 😫) would delay or speed up Lukola if this were the case.
Like either it’ll speed them up because they know they LIKED all of THAT 👀 so by the time Bridgerton is officially coming to a close they’ll feel comfortable enough to stop being so professional about their relationship and acknowledge the 🐘 in the room and get on itttttt and get married 4 dates in… ORRRRR it will slow them down because they would continue to think they LIKED IT only because they were experiencing emotional residue from being too in character as Polin. Meaning the show would have to end and they’d have to actually part ways for a while, and they’d have to miss each other a LOTTT, and realize it wasn’t just Polin that created all this 🌩️ energy 🌩️ between them, and then one of them would need to just jump in the deep end and be like, so uhmmmm I thought I was feeling the tingles cause I was just super into being Colin but maybeee that wasn’t ittt…. so do you, errr… wanna??? 👀
My concern with option 2 is that it has higher potential for “ships that pass in the night” vibes 😫
So
GOD I humbly pray that it’s actually the first version, and that they’re just sowing their wild oats until Bridgerton is nearly over, justttt because they don’t wanna accidentally fuck up any work dynamics, and that as soon as the official end is in sight, they will just get married two seconds into dating irl AMEN 🙏🏼

Ahh, I didn't know you liked Bridgerton! (I was away from tumblr for a moment and just now catching up on your blog) I'm obsessed with Penelope and Colin. How did you like season 3? I always love reading your thoughts! I saw so many people complain but I mostly really enjoyed it. I wish it didn't have so many random plotlines, and I didn't like the insta-baby but overall they're my favourite couple in the show haha.
Hi Nonny! Welcome back to the Tumblr! <3
I hope you don't mind me indulging a little with your ask, lol. If you've followed me for any length of time, you do know I can't shut up - but I realized I haven't really said my actual thoughts on the season, etc, I just started meta'ing and haven't looked back. So, pull up a chair, Nonny, as I chatter non-stop for a bit about Bridgerton and my thoughts on season 3, lol.
I'll put it under a cut to save the rest of your souls....
Part 1: How did we get here?
Am I big fan of historical romance? No, not really. Did I expect this show to ever have a grip on me? Not even a little bit. How in the world did this happen? Idk - it appears that favorite tropes and character designs and dynamics seem to transcend genre. And I'm an old sap.
The tl:dr version is that I watched Seasons 1 and 2 after Season 2 came out. It was fine. Not a huge fan of Season 1, I did like Season 2 though. And then kind of forgot it existed. Eloise was by far my favorite character - because I liked her spunk. And the friendship between Eloise and Penelope was the best part of the show.
And then I was reminded that Season 3 dropped and did not expect the shock that I got. I went in completely blind - I hadn't seen a single promo. I did know, because I looked up the books when I originally watched, that it would be Pen and Colin's story. But I was kind of fascinated at how they were going to go about it. Penelope was not a stereotypical leading lady. And Colin was very boy-ish looking in the early seasons. How was this going to work?
Oh man, the glow ups. The glow ups got me. Pen is so, so gorgeous this entire season. When she's wearing her hair down, omg... Or that one look where she's like a housewife writing in her journal. God damn, girl. She can get it. And then Colin... ha. When he got out of the carriage, I was like - oh shit. It was the pirate coat. A good pirate coat will always do me in.
But more than that - really, the dynamics of the characters just really sold me. I love friends to lovers. I love the angst and the pull. I love the whole she fell first he fell harder. I love that I unintentionally just go for the same kind of characters and their dynamics over and over and over.
And then, you know, between the first part and second part, I rewatched the first two seasons, which was helpful. (Though, still not a huge fan of season 1.) Was addicted to the promo tour (my god I love a good promo tour). And @ckerouac - got me to watch Derry Girls which really cemented my love of Nicola Coughlin. And, you know, once you start going down a hole, you just have to keep on going until you get to the other side.
Idk how we really got here, Nonny, but here we are! Lol
Part 2: My thoughts on Season 3
So, briefly, I just fell in love with Part 1 right off the bat. LOVED IT. Part 2, honestly, I felt disappointed after seeing it the first time. (I remember episode 6, in particular, thinking - wow that was not a very good episode).
And then... I rewatched it and then rewatched it again after watching Seasons 1 and 2 and kind of started to take it a part a bit, and it's grown on me. A lot! I actually do really love the season as a whole and appreciate what we've got...
Breaking it down a little more:
Pen and Colin's story: I still do think the first half is stronger. The whole Colin helping Pen find a husband, Lord Debling (who is a doll), Colin figuring out his issues, that carriage scene... ooff, all really, really good. The second half - there just needed to be more. At first, it was hard to watch them go through a wedding while being mad at each other, but I feel like now that I've had time to digest it all, it is /so/ good. It's a really, really fascinating dynamic going on there. I could and probably will go on at length about it later... a couple of things, though
They just needed more. The plot was so delicious. I did love the conflict over lady whistledown and I wish we had seen that tension played out better and resolved better. The end of episode 8 was a bit to fast. I swear - Season 4 better have some solidly good Polin moments or idek... They've been such a big part of the show as a whole, I hope they get to continue their development, even if it they go back to their Seasons 1 and 2 focus.
The season works better if you remember what happened in seasons 1 and 2. I had zero memory of the plots from the first two seasons going in. I didn't realize Colin's personality had changed. I couldn't remember any of the Polin moments in the first two seasons. This third season makes a whole lot more sense being built from what came before it, and honestly, I kind of love that. It makes the story more layered and engaging.
As for the insta-baby, I mean, they set it up at the beginning of the season, but it wasn't something I needed to enjoy the couple. I do wonder if they'll go back and explore that 9 months, or if things will pick up after post-baby.
Also, on perhaps a shallower note? I thought the actors had great chemistry. And I have so much respect for Nicola Coughlin for allowing herself to be presented in such a way. She is GORGEOUS in every aspect and the backlash over her body is ABSURD. If you can’t get on board that a larger woman can be seen as desirable than you can fuck right off because she is amazing.
Poor Luke Newton has gotten some push back, too, which I think is a little unfair. He's not expressive the way Jonny Bailey is, but Colin really isn't Anthony, and is much more an inward character. And the awkwardness of his attempt at rake-ishness in the beginning is supposed to be awkward. Colin isn't smoldering like the Duke from Season 1, either. He's a sweet, romantic kid who adores his bff-turned-wife, and the whole season (I mean, can we talk about the all the mirrors?) is about cutting through the bullshit we do to try to mask who we really are.
The thing about Luke Newton that I really appreciate is that he really understands who his character is and keeps that front and center. Colin is trying to be something he's not, and the real Colin slips out unintendedly, and that kind of subtly is hard to play.
The absolute best moments were when they laughed together - they both really shine when Pen and Colin are allowed to be the sweet friends they've been all along.
Anyway tl:dr - loved their relationship, and my heart will just be broken if we don't get more good development as the seasons continue.
Penelope and Eloise: The fact that this relationship was angled as another romance per se was also delicious. As I said above - Pen and Eloise were probably my favorite dynamic pre-Polin and it was devastating to watch them work their relationship out. But again, it was all so delicious. I loved it and thought it was perfect.
The Featheringtons: I LOVED THEM! They were perfection. I love that they leaned into some really good comedy with the sisters. Not only were they able to show off Nicola's excellent comedic skills, the family as a whole was just a whole delight. I loved the sisters. I loved their husbands. I even liked Portia - and, honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of her in earlier seasons. I loved that they linked Pen and Portia, it really made them seem like mother and daughter.
Colin and his family: There were some fascinating dynamics!
Colin and Eloise: yes, the third part of the platonic love triangle I loved their dynamic during the season. Eloise never really knowing how to handle Colin. The fact that they're close and yet awkwardly so. The fact that they both care so much about Pen in different ways and how LW just hangs over both dynamics. Ooff, so good.
Colin and Anthony & Benedict (and let's throw George in here, too): Love it. Wish there had been more. The brothers are hilarious and wonderful together and just I ate it all up with a spoon. Also, as an aside, I love that George is slowly coming into focus. The kid is adorable.
Colin and Francesca (and let's throw Hyacinth in here, too): Hilariously, Colin and Francesca speak zero times to each other during the whole season. Isn't that weird? Really, their plot lines do not intersect except tangentially for family moments. It's so weird. I feel like I have no sense of this dynamic. As for Hyacinth - I adore her, and I feel like she has more personality than Francesca :P
Colin and Violet: I kind of loved this. She's a mother who understands her kids. And even though Violet wasn't around that much for the A-Plot, I like what role she did have to play in getting Colin to act.
Alright, so the rest of the subplots... It did feel like an abundance of them, but was there really more than previous seasons? Or was it the fact that Pen and Colin usually were subplots, and now that they're the main focus, everything else kind of shifts awkwardly around them?
Anthony and Kate: I love them to pieces, and wish there had been more of them. Their dynamic remains sexy and smart. Kate remains one of the best characters on the show, and is such an intelligent woman. I'm so glad she had wonderful, insightful conversations with her new family. I really would have loved to have had a Kate and Penelope scene. Also, the India thing was awkward - I lol'd because it clearly was written as an 'out' for the couple. But it's ultimately fine. But yes - bring back Kanthony in future seasons. I really don't care how much Jonathan Bailey is doing other things.
Cressida Cowper: I thought she was a fantastic villain, and the fact that she was so wrapped up with Eloise was kind of delicious. I don't think they needed to linger on her private life as much as they did. But I was fascinated that there seemed to be some queer coding in there, and wondered, for a bit if she was going to be a lesbian. I also think her ending was a little weak and she just kind of scampered off without any reprieve. I do wonder if she'll be back, tbh.
Francesca: Oof. It was intriguing on first watch but I find it incredibly dragging on subsequent watches and have a tendency to skip over it. I think this is the one plot line that really could have been cut down. I understand that it's set up but it was kind of meh for me. However, I am totally fine with her love interest being changed to a woman. Let's do this bisexuals! Speaking of which...
Benedict: My god, it felt like the show doesn't know what to do with him - and I am hoping Season 4 is his, because they NEED to do something with Benedict. So, to be clear, I LOVE that they made him bisexual. But the woman he was with was so boring, and I just did not care - because I knew it ultimately wasn't going to go anywhere. And, what was with the never ending orgy? Did we really need to cut back to it ten times? Please, show, give Benedict something interesting to do.
The Mondriches: Look, I feel bad saying it, but these people ultimately served no purpose to the show and could have been lifted right out. I'm sure the actors are lovely but if they're not going to directly service the story, then why are we wasting our time? Though, at least they really aren't the ones taking up the most time.
The Queen: They could have played up the rivalry between her and LW a lot more, and they just didn't. It felt... a little anticlimactic. Also, now what do they do with her as a character? Meh.
Violet and Lady Danbury's brother: I just don't care. I get it. I get that Violet should have something to do outside her children. But there are already a million plots, and not everyone needs to have their own individual story. By the time they threaded this in around episode 3 it did feel like too much.
Did I miss anything?
So... that's how I felt on everything. I have seen commentary about the pushback on Season 3. There are some things I agree about and a lot I don't.
About the actors: I disagree, Nicola and Luke are a delight, and they don't deserve the pushback they've been getting.
About the subplots: It is too many, and I do think they should have either made the season longer, or cut a few things.
About Polin not being as steamy: I think Daphne and Simon's soft core porn-a-thon set an expectation that doesn't necessarily work when you're going for other tropes. I did like the steamy scenes we got (though the last one should have been longer -- we better get some happy sex in season 4 or I will be annoyed) but Polin doesn't have the same dynamic as (what is their shipper name??) Daphne/Simon. We were never going to get the porn-a-thon.
Kanthany didn't either in Season 2, I don't know what to tell people. I appreciate that they're servicing the story they're telling and not just relying on sex. But, I will say, it is still the romance genre, based on books that do feature a lot of sex, so I can understand disappointment in some respects. There is a reason people watch these things, and when it's not met, it can be frustrating.
Idk, what else are people bitching about? (that's rhetorical) I think two years is too long a wait for a show like this. And the anthology aspect of it can make it hard when the focus shifts. People adored Anthony and Kate and to shift it to a very different type of love story can feel jarring, especially, I think if you've spent the past two years digesting what we've already had.
And then there are some people who are just never happy.
And I mean, I already feel a little 'meh' about Season 4. (It'll be Benedicts, there are so many hints...) I'll continue to watch, but I am incredibly sad that this was the year my favorites got to shine. My only hope is that Pen and Colin continue to occupy a space in the story... lord help us, though, in that it doesn't take another ten years to finish...
So.... them my thoughts! I'm sure I'll have more of them as I settle into this bright new world.
Omg, how cute are they????

All the polin fans complaining about Penelope and Colin "not being protagonists in their season" in the Bridgerton ig are they for real?
Are they still at it? I checked out shortly after part 2 was released but I did hear something about them signing a deleted sex scenes petition lmao
The whole thing is so ridiculous, especially after two years of gaslighting kathony fans for calling out the show's sidelining of them, Kate in particular. When season 2 premiered they wouldn't stop yapping about Bridgerton being an "ensemble show" to justify the excessive screen time given to Penelope's family or the disproportionate amount of promo their faves got.
There is a grain of truth about the show noticeably shifting from romance to ensemble drama after season 1 but when we called it out back in season 2 we were being bitter and jealous lmao.
Even so, the irony of seeing polin stans say that "Penelope and Colin were treated like secondary characters in their own season!!" is insane. Kate and Anthony didn't even have a poster of their own for season 2, while Penelope (a side character) got herself a solo poster. Then on her own season she was again at the centre of all the promotional photoshoots. Kate and Anthony got together in the last 3 minutes of the show and had an off screen wedding. Penelope and Colin got handed a grand wedding and a baby in the epilogue (before the audience ever got to see Kathony as parents). Simone and Jonny weren't allowed to do any interviews on their own or have a couple photoshoot. Nicola and Luke were handed a world tour and multiple photo-ops to promote season 3 and were heavily promoted throughout season 2 as well.
I don't know if their fans are still at it, but I remember when part 1 came out how mad they were at Francesca (who literally had less lines than Penelope's sisters in s1 and s2 combined) finally having a subplot of her own. You know...like every single Bridgerton sibling minus Hyacinth and Greg have had since the show premiered? They didn't seem to have a problem when Penelope was a supporting character with her own sidedarc for Kate and Daphne's seasons, but Francesca finally being on screen was an issue cause she outshined Penelope in s3!
At the end of the day they're just pressed their ship never captured the audience's attention the way every other Bridgerton couple (spinoff included) has, inspite of the lengths the production went into to promote and overhype them. Kate and Anthony were robbed at every turn, both story and promo wise, and managed to carry the season and become fanfourites nonetheless. Polin got everything handed to them and were still extremely underwhelming. No amount of sex montages will manufacture chemistry between the leads or charisma for your cringe male lead.
#my asks#bridgerton#asked and answered#dear gentle reader watch my lady jane on prime instead of bridgerton and you won't be sorry!

Same on the anxiety! Knowing what's coming just gives me better enjoyment, I know some people think it takes away from the story but for me it lets me relax into the story and doesn't ruin it at all for me.
For sure, a lack of context and visuals is going to affect the interpretations we all make but I think there was enough info using the basics and without catastrophizing it that I think we have a good idea of the tone of it all currently.
I really want to see the Eloise bits and see how it goes further into the season but they can easily make us feel less sympathetic towards her if they wanted to. They did say that Peneloise was also a love story for the season so I think we'll see some good growth from both of them over the season. Her trying to keep the LW from him is truly big brain Bridgerton thinking.
Oh Colin. What a faker. 17 cities visited and he comes home with 2 brain cells fighting for 3rd place when it comes to actually finding himself and his friendship with Penelope. We're supposed to believe his anger at LW is about anyone else but himself? I don't remember him threatening to ruin her life until she pricked his ego?🤔 I did see that Anthony mentions that they had no idea where he was and hadn't heard from him so was he only writing to Pen? I don't think he expected anyone to so quickly to see through whatever persona he's trying to wear and it sets it up nicely for the season that he's pretending, gives him a depth of character for growth into himself into adulthood and his relationship with Penelope.
I do love me a good enemies to lovers! What a layered season and relationship this is going to be. Adding in the Kenebling of it all is definitely going to be interesting as he was so kind to her from the spoilers. It looks that timeline wise Colin gets down bad very quick but maybe has to come into his own and feel more confident in himself if he's going to get what he wants. Which I'm looking forward to seeing happen.
I have seen fans of another ship say that Polin is the one who says terrible things, etc, and I have no doubt that people have said something awful, but I haven't seen it and have only seen them say the worst sorts of things so far. I'm not sure what people think is going to happen with each season? I don't expect s4 to be Polin 2.0? Knowing now that they essentially give themselves an out in ep1 to have them out of the show for a little bit just might make people more insufferable I fear. Add in the promo tour? Jealousy makes people be the worst version of themselves at times.
Oh agree, I have seen some pretty bad takes on Polin as well. It's very reactionary in the tags, ha. I do think it's normal to love both but maybe relate to one side more than the other but some people act like if you don't specifically agree with this particular take that's one extreme or the other you're not a fan and never have been.
If I could just get a full breakdown of each episode I would have a lot less stress before May indeed. I know it's hardly more than 3 weeks at this point but still, we're suffering.😄
I’m one of those people who could read the entire synopsis of a story and then watch the season just so I could know which parts to be ready for but also know that the end is glorious and happy. I know others would say, where is the fun there, but WHERE IS THE FUN IN FEELING ALL UPSET AND WONDERING IF IT WILL BE FIXED AND WHEN? No thank you! I just want to know that for X amount of episodes I will be utterly crushed but by the end of 20 mins of a certain episode I will start to feel something warm back in my heart again. That I can live with.
I got enough out of the spoilers yesterday to not feel as nervous about Eloise but also I’m going to stay guarded. Because it could just as easily turn and piss me off again. LOL! They are young and say stupid things and I must remember that. They will hurt each other and I will cry just as badly as I will for the Polin of it all.
And yes, I truly am getting the “I put my big boy pants on” feeling from Colin. 17 cities. Wow good for you Mister. But what did you get out of it but a lonely heart. His family had no idea where he was, and he was off still writing to Pen…Lonely lonely lonely boy. His heart is betraying his mind. That was even in the trailer. Do you believe the heart or the mind. But Pen definitely went after his ego in her LW. He was hurt after the Marina stuff. But he is ANGRY now. He wants to ruin LW because she dare go after his character, his sense of worth. She is basically calling his bluff of who he is as a man. Because she did not dare do it to his face! I cannot wait for these two to drop the mask and let it out at each other because holy hell its going to be hot as hell.
It only feeds even more into this notion that Pen is the only person that truly sees him for who he really his. Not who he tries to be to the ton or to his family or other women, but who he is inside. The boy who has always wanted to have this purpose. And here she is calling him out to EVERYONE in society that he’s a fake who doesn’t even believe this newfound person he is himself. Girl is brave as hell to go at him like that but also…hiding behind LW to do so because she is angry at him and instead of telling him that to his face, she says “Ok bestie, I’ll let you help find me a hubby.”
Because it seems like she didn’t even need him for that! From what I read, she found Lord Obi Wan all on her own without his assistance at all. He seems to be the suitor that found her. And isn’t that just interesting all on its own. It puts the whole reason that Colin needs to be around her to bed right in episode 1. (I was slightly disappointed that Lord Obi Wan was already involved right at episode 1 but oh well band aid ripped off right away I guess)
It’s just so juicy all on it’s own because she’s obviously more angry than she let on due to the LW article about Colin and she needs to work through that obviously but now she is working on her anger while having this man who seems to have gravitated to her of his own volition and was nice to her for just being her and then Colin is over there being Colin (let me help you bestie) who also hates half of her and this sets up sooooo any interesting ways they can go. And I’m just so here for this.
And the fandom….well poo on them for not just enjoying the ride. You don’t want to see Polin, don’t watch. Watch the parts you want and fast forward the rest. No one cares how you watch! Nor do they want to hear about it. I just don’t get the reason to rub it in that you hate something. I know they are angry about the lovely promo tour and it’s unfortunate that last season didn’t get one because of Covid and it would have been lovely. The leads were very sweet last year and seem to be very good friends and Covid ruined a lot of good promos but that is not Luke or Nicola’s fault. But don’t shit on the show! Lol.
I myself am rolling in Polin (I needed to take my Flonase and almost lost conscious thought yesterday while trying to be out doing adult chores yesterday LMAO. At one point my husband said, just go back to staring at your screen dear, I’m sure those Bridgerton people will disappear if you don’t! And I’m sure he was right but I was not going to take that chance!

No but why did the MUA said she would be back to work with nic AND Simone then delete the Simone part???!!
I was not aware of this. That is very strange. That sounds like to me someone on the Bridgerton/Shondaland team told her to remove that immediately.
Why, I do not know. The way Simone has been treated has just been horrendous and that's just another example tbh. She's confirmed herself multiple times she'll be back so I don't think she won't be. I may be reaching but is it this MUA wanting to say she's just working on Nic as she's the lead? Or just typical sidelining Simone again.
From those pap pics and Johnny confirmed on set, I'd say they've filmed some Bridgerton family scenes and then Kathony go off to Aubrey Hall or something. It did look like a ball so if they're going with Kate being pregnant, her and Anthony's absence could be explained by her confinement. Johnny is filming his new show in Toronoto for the next few months I'd say and he's there right now, so I'm really thinking Kathony will have a Daphne kind of role. Which we were lead not to believe but shock, we've been let down lol. Breaks my heart but don't blame them, this is their time to shine. Look at Phoebe and Rege, they're careers at at their peak rn.
Simone and her team have done a fantastic job in the fashion world and attending events, her exposure has been insane beyond Bridgerton (as their promo team did ZERO for her, treating the leading lady like a side character) so hoping for some big, exciting projects for her soon!
Also, I expected 2 of those 3 new male cast members announced to be John and Michael but nope. I expected thrm with them replacing Fran this year but I imagine one of them will be courting Fran. Still holding outhope for J+M this season.

OF COURSE the lack of Taron or ”the erasure” some of you call it makes sense. It’s the most sensible thing to do. I’m sorry to Taron but he was basically there for the 3 month (?) rehearsal, about 3 shows and 3 TV promos. It is far more important to SHOW UP WHEN NEEDED than being there from the beginning. I mean, I’m a big fan of him, but it’s not like he proved to be a big box office pull that they sold out when he was still on board. The production actually benefitted that there were still tickets left, so they can sell them at much higher price after Bridgerton S2 premiered. Anyway, I know some are still let down by Taron. I know I kind of am. But he moved on. And despite all the mess, the play was still well-received, and even a Hollywood trade mag like Variety knows it’s a smash hit (per their recent Jonny feature). For Taron, pace yourself. Just don’t bite off more than you can chew, dude.
Alright, first of all: calm down, dude.
Secondly, you're not saying anything that we haven't already said before, in some form or other. Yes, he let everyone (probably himself, too) down, and no, the production of Cock did not handle that well at all. The fact that Bridgerton 2 happened when it happened and that Jonny is a seasoned theatre professional was a gigantic stroke of luck for everyone involved, nothing more. And the poor man ended up carrying the whole thing on his back, Atlas-style—which he did a commendable job of, but idk, if I'd been Marianne I would have maybe tried to avoid burning my main guy out. Perhaps. Idk, seems like a good idea, but I'm not the big shot Tony nominated director, here, so how would I know.
ANYWAY my point being that the TIME magazine Next Generation Leaders thing (I assume that's what you meant) is 100% Bridgerton related, so no, I can't say I believe that this specific production of Cock will go down in history, unfortunately. It's a shame, too: the content of the play is extremely important and starts and fuels a conversation that is so so relevant for so many people right now. And yet, the whole aura of odd negativity and disorganisation surrounding it will probably be the thing that most people will most easily remember about it.
For my part, I know I watched a show featuring an incredible lead and a mediocre-to-acceptable understudy in one of the secondary (but still very central) roles. He wasn't there for most of it, so it's only fair he doesn't get credit for anything he's done, but one can't deny that Taron would definitely have been the sprinkling of platinum on the top of that play that it would have needed to go down in history. I say this as a biased, adoring fan, but as an incredibly disappointed one, too.
