#Bonefall Leopardstar

Note
So since you plan on keeping leopardstar as a thistlelaw supporter are you planning on doing the same with blackstar? I'd personally argue he was worse in a much more lifelong way than leopard was so I'd figure, but who knows.
He WAS much worse, there's no argument back from me here lmao. Early on in the rewrite I was deciding on which one of them was going to have a long redemption arc, and which one of them was going to going to get merc'd. One could repent; but not both.
I decided that Leopardstar fit MUCH better as the one who gets merc'd, for a few reasons;
Her actions in TNP are more consistent as someone who supports Thistle Law. ShadowClan's just uncooperative, but RiverClan is an active danger because of Sunningrocks. She was even happy to watch the other Clans get driven out, allowing Hawkfrost to say that they should hurry up and get gone so RiverClan can have more land.
Hawkfrost is not born evil, so that has to come from somewhere. And his story is now that he was failed by RiverClan. Leaving Leopardstar out of that just to arbitrarily say She's Sorry Now makes a less coherent Bonefall TNP and implies nothing could be done to prevent Hawkfrost's radicalization, because having a completely repentant leader wouldn't have changed this. Characters are, at the end of the day, a writer's tools.
ShadowClan's proximity to ProtagonistClan makes it much easier to show Blackstar's redemption. I did fix the Lake Map so that RiverClan isn't IMPOSSIBLY far away, but because ShadowClan is a major neighbor in Po3, I have more opportunities to display how Bonefall Blackstar is different from Canon Blackstar, including that he punishes the patrol who watched Berrykit suffer. (letting shadowclan not be EvilClan in the rewrite was a bonus)
And her killing at Mistyfoot's claws is the Thesis of Bonefall TNP; that Thistle Law will not go away on its own, and that these ideas do not die unless they are killed.
So Blackstar goes on a long journey for redemption, and Leopardstar dies at the end of Bonefall TNP. Change or die. No point in having the same arc for two characters.
(Snipped quote from a very long post I made on Mistystar in general below the cut)
""...Mistystar’s killing of Leopardstar, I will argue, is the thesis of Hawkfrost’s arc in Bonefall TNP
RiverClan, in canon, never has a reckoning with the fact that they allowed Tigerstar to take over. They rapidly pivot Leopardstar and RiverClan as a whole to be regretful of the choice without showing ANY remnant supporters, refutation of the ideology, or even any sympathy for Feathertail’s retconned trauma in Shadow In RiverClan, a book I’ve spoken about strongly disliking.
Making Leopardstar’s character consistent, and fixing Shadow in RiverClan, preventing this ridiculous canonical post-hoc retcon that they’re just fine after TPB, is something I care immensely about.
So there is no situation anymore where Mistyfoot can just sit back and follow the code until the Clan stops following Thistle Law. You can’t appease fascists. These ideas do not die unless they are killed.
And TNP is now a story about the Tigerkin, split between their perspectives. As you know, Hawkfrost’s arc is that he is failed by RiverClan, becoming the inheritor of an ideology that should have been buried before he was born. She thinks that with his death things can maybe go back to normal... but it doesn’t. Because Hawkfrost was not the problem. He was a victim just as much as he was a perpetrator.
Mistyfoot kills Leopardstar, a thing that should have been done a long time ago, and rules the Clan in a way as to limit the influence of Thistle Law. As much as she can, she tries to prevent what happened to Hawkfrost from ever happening again, truly wrapping up his story for Bonefall TNP.""

Okay but Mistyfoot killing Leopardstar in revenge for Stonefur’s death/ to assume the leadership could have been such a baller parallel to Bluestar!! ! Doing something hard and terrible for both altruistic and ambitious reasons! Mother, I think I finally understand. Mother, I think I really do forgive you.
#mistystar’s character potential continues to haunt me#obsessed w the idea of her lying to a dying bluestar ab forgiving her and only doing so when she worries she herself won’t be forgiven#god forbid women do anything#warrior cats#bluestar#mistystar#stonefur#leopardstar#bonefall#i don’t actually know that much ab the bonefall au but i know they thought of this first so i’m tagging it

the way leopardstar and blackstar are allowed to be leaders RULING OVER A CLAN after the shit w tigerstar is so crazy. blackstar even moreso bc they had to actively let him become leader even AFTER the whole being tigerstars executioner thing. shadowclan should have staged a coup
i wish soooo so badly that rc's involvement in the execution was better reflected instead of "oh well ACKSHUALLY it was all tigerstar 1's fault teehee" (stares at asc). would it really be so bad if leoparstar and blackstar were willing followers and not "i thought what we were doing was right :("
#deer rambles#i know everyone's got a soft spot for some part of bonefall's rewrite#but man. looovee his take on post-tpb rc & leopardstar#it's smthing i think wc is sooo lenient on despite handling these themes#on how these vile ideologies take root quietly and by not tugging out the roots entirely they can take lives

New year, new Mistystar appreciation post, three cheers for violence!
This is fanart for @bonefall ‘s warriors au in which Mistystar kills Leopardstar to end the increasing xenophobia that she’s helped grow in RiverClan.
Felt hugely inspired by this post which details how the event happens in the au and really enjoyed playing with the composition and palette here!

🔥 13 14 and 15!
13. worst blorboficiation
Gray Wing, full-stop. If you are doing it because you wanna remember him better, sure, go right ahead! But if you insist to me that canon!Gray Wing is anything but nasty, I'll redirect you to Bonefall's DOTC reading.
14. that one thing you see in fics all the time
I don't really read warriors fanfics nowadays but back in the day there was SO much LeopardTiger. It wasn't a huge ship back then, people just kept including that weird "Leopardstar was hoping Tigerstar would be her mate" bit and running with it.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
Making Mollies thin and "feminine", while making toms look much more diverse but still quite "masculine". I'm glad we have recognized this, and you're allowed to make them look however you want, just... Please recognize that we have very much slapped gender expectations onto them? Draw everyone as femme or masc as you want, just... I dunno, address internal biases. Ivypool doesn't need to be masculine just because she is "tough and badass".
Draw Briarlight as a gym bro, she was canonically ripped.

The Rain Code x Warriors au no one asked for nor will receive an explanation for
What's up I'm still doing bad and feel my last year's mystery stress sickness is coming back and none of my drafts are anywhere remotely close to getting finished anytime soon because of that how are you are you interested in cat
(picked the TPB timeline because it makes the most sense and has the most fitting characters, but I might cheat or bend it a little, we'll see)
Yuma Kokohead -> Rusty/Firestar
Main boy :) because of course he is. Yuma's now an orange cat. Firestar was the name of Number One, and Rusty (canonically Fire's old house cat name, I'm not calling them kittypets I'm sorry) was the name of the trainee he very politely borrowed his identity for.
Makoto Kagutsuchi -> Scourge
In wc canon, Scourge is also Firestar's half-brother (but they don't ever knooow) and they both kill each other + he's canonically stated to be VERY short like one of the smallest cats in the series. After the cloning, Makoscourge painted his fur completely black except for a one white paw (for the aesthetics. or maybe I'll just give Fire a white paw as well, kinda like Yuma's and Makoto's lil ahoges), started wearing the "OwO" mask, the dog tooth studded shrimp color collar, the fucking blood dyed amv bangs, the dog tooth reinforced claws........ The former CEO took him to hot topic for the first time in his life and he was fucking MESMERIZED none of them knew what they have brought upon themselves by this single act. He is a very silly man, lost in the whimsy. When his mask gets pulled off in the Mystery Labirynth, his face is just not dyed at all and it's just ginger with green eyes just like Rusty's/Firestar's/Yuma's/whatever.
Shinigami -> Spottedleaf
In canon, Spottedleaf does infamously end up haunting Firestar's dreams as a ghost to send him cryptic visions and furiously make out with him in front of his pregnant wife, he did have a crush on her before she died and I'm pretty sure she was retconned into reciprocating it was real bad and then they double killed her so Fire won't have to choose between her and his wife in heaven it was REAL bad uhh. I still like her though. I can get you out of the narrative girl just take my hand.... She can be the weirdgirl incarnate she was always meant to be. I wanted to say something else but then I realized holy shit I'm just tweaking her into Bonefall rewrite Spottedleaf am I... What can I say it IS peak Spottedleaf.
Yomi Hellsmile -> Tigerstar
Also extremely obvious. He is evil and has immaculate sexual tension between the protag whoops sorry I forgot literally only me and like 2 other people here ship Yuma and Yomi uhh anyway. While it does fit I'm a little dissapointed that Yomi/Tigerstar is gonna be losing so much of his cringe charm..... Like, say goodbye to deeply unserious insecure prettyboy toothpick Yaoi with silly little insults such as "umbrella sewing machine man operating hand hook car table" and how do I even describe all of this in less than 3 paragraphs. Say hello to broad-shouldered muscular extremely intimidating 100% serious and competent fascist built like a fucking brick shithouse with very broad-shoulders that doesn't need a henchman boytoy to handle all his numerous murders, have I mentioned his massive fucking broad shoulders, Firestar sure did do that a lot. It's like, where's the fun..... Whatever.... I guess...........😔😔😔
Martina Electro -> Leopardstar
Now for an assigned role I'm way more cool with >:)))) for an outrageously long while I had trouble with whether Martina should be Sasha or Goldenflower, fool I was, until I remembered Leopardstar fucking exists. She is literally perfect like I cannot state this enough. AND canonically she was later retconned to have feelings for Tigerstar but I hate to acknowledge it how dare you massacre Lep like that. She can still be his gf alongside vice director though, she's just engaging in acts of deceit whilst putting opioids in his food and trying her darndest to convince herself she's actually 100% in control of the situation before she's dragged to the cube dimension and has a brief "are we the baddies" moment. I don't think she still resigns from being a peacekeeper though Leopardstar 100% would take that fucking promotion the moment she's offered it and a year later when she' done feeling guilty regresses back into being a violent asshole she has learned NOTHING❤️
Fake/Hitman Zilch -> Darkstripe
So many dissapointments happening here sigh..... This one was obvious and honestly the only valid option for FZilch aside from maybe Nightwhisper or Blackfoot? Anyway, the downsides: one, Darkstripe will never be as cool as fake Zilch he thrives on being a cringe mistreated lickspittle. Two, he's definitely not one of Tigerstar's "closest advisors (🏳️🌈)" whilst Dark is pretty obsessed Tiger does not give a shit and considers him a looooooser boooo lameee fuck you *canonically swats him away with his tail that one scene*. But, I mean, at least the toxic yaoi became an entire new category of toxic.
Swank Catsonell -> Brokenstar
Pure vibes. It just fits. He employs small children and makes them fight to the death in his office for glory
Seth Burroughs -> Longtail
In canon, another one of Tigerstar's lackeys that didn't know about his crimes and when he found out he immediately left. I thought he was not evil enough to be Seth at first, but it kinda fits and he does make up for it in his cringe value and being noted to be a coward, though that may have been just Fire's opinion. Also, with all the bunny Seth Burrows jokes, I'd like to mention Longtail got his eyes clawed by a rabbit so hard he went blind so do with that what you will
Guillaume Hall -> Russetfur
Aaaand this is where I started having trouble with the remaining peacekeepers. Eventually I settled on Russetfur & Blackfoot/Blackstar for Guillaume and Dominic, because I like this danger duo I and some of the fandom completely made up about them. It's okay, the authors don't know you like we do...... While Blackstar did have a higher rank and Russet was his deputy, I do think she still had at least an equal amount of power as him, they're buddies pair bonded for life Blackstar is nodding respectfully to whatever incomprehensible wisdom she's sharing
Dominic Fulltank -> Blackfoot/star
In canon, started out as a murderous henchman of two major equally murderous evil dictators, before they both died and he finally got that boss promotion he always wanted, then he got ruined by the, you guessed it, retcons, but I don't like to be reminded of his atrocity of a novella. I always imagined Blackstar as like, unbelievably jacked holy shit the muscles on that cat, (and honestly most of the fandom does too so. lmao) and he does indeed canonically unflinchingly do the dirty work of all his bosses such as killing and maiming and destroying an
You get the point. He serious'd. Darkstripe wishes he could be him. And I'm pretty sure that was even canonically implied in the sixth book lmaooooooooo. Loser <3
Dr. Huesca -> um. Goosefeather?
The looks definitely fit, Dr. Huesca indeed bears striking resemblance to that tortured feline. However, while sometimes an asshole, Goose is definitely not evil... But he could be. He deserves to be. As a treat. Also: old man pride
Kurumi Wendy -> Cinderpaw/pelt
Easy, get Cinder'd idiot. They even have a pretty similiar energy too, I feel. This is where I got a bit tired, uhh...It's 11pm. Anyway I love Cinder and I love Kurumi say anything bad about them and I'll start scream crying on the floor
Halara Nightmare -> Yellowfang
Halara gets the old beam. They're now in their fucking 60s or something perhaps 70s. Yellowfang, on the other hand, gets the non-binary spec beam. She already gave off massive butch vibes in canon already, whatever. I don't think I can uhh in short terms explain Yellowfang's whole deal rn but the gist of it she's a very snarky grandma figure to Fire that gradually warmed up to him while she was- my cat vomited. While he was assigned to take care of her while she was taken prisoner into ThunderClan camp. Her personality's pretty funky. And she does seem cool enough in order to deserve to be Halara Nightmare.
Desuhiko Thunderbolt -> Graystripe
I think I'm taking a break and coming back to this tomorrow actually after all. Hello this is tomorrow Jasper. In canon, Graystripe is Fire's silly goofy boybestie when they're young, then he starts secretly dating Silverstream - hold on i can't fuvking take tjis im making myself hot cocoa again bye. Ok it's done let's see if that makes me feel something. As I was saying he's dating this cat and she's from a rival Clan so that's illegal forbidden love and then she dies during childbirth and he leaves his own Clan for a while to raise their babies there but then he gets exiled and goes back to his own and then his kids almost get publically executed for being half-clan so he and his buddies rescue them. And then he gets abducted by humans and meets this new gal called Millie and they start dating and then she gives birth to his new babies and then a tree falls on one of them. I'm pretty sure Fire was also pretty gay for that guy. Uh, anyway. I think he fits the bill because of his goofy charm but also it's pretty disturbing to imagine any iteration of Desuhiko actually getting bitches
Fubuki Clockford -> um. uh. Silverstream?
Silverstream, in canon, is the only daughter of Crookedstar, the leader of RiverClan, and is (implied to not having a problem with) getting various privileges because of this. Fits with Fubuki's rich timelord parents, plus light blue aesthetic, and a few other things which are hard to articulate. Only thing is that she's generally way more headstrong and impulsive than Fubuki showed to be, could "bend her father to her will with little effort", and disrespects the law if it's stupid to her which, queen shit. I think she'll play a lot of little pranks with her time powers, and devote her free time/time with YumaRusty when he's accused of terrorism crimes (but that's just unrestrained summer fun anyway) to absolutely decimate any peacekeepers they come across with some looney tunes shit
Vivia Twilight -> I'll be honest I have no fucking idea
Zero fucking idea. Literally NOBODY in this arc fits for the 5D chess of a character Vivia is. I'm not even sure if in any of the books. Help me. But also I don't really care because I don't even like Vivia at all anyway he freaks me out get him away from me.
Yakou Furio -> Bluestar?
Protag mentor figure except Bluestar is actually doing a good job at that until she loses her marbles after her mid-arc torment gauntlet and has a corruption arc until she drowns and gets healed of all her issues momentarily before fucking dying. She has a dead husband, dead mom, dead sister, dead baby, dead deputy, dead deputy #2, dead bestie, holy shit that's a lot of motives for suicidemurdering Huesgoose. Btw Goose was her weird voice of god hearing uncle in canon (and he was also dead) but I'm probably taking it out unless. Anyway she's kinda too good for Yakou but. They're also both blue like that is a blue cat
And for some side characters, keyword some:
Aiko -> Littlepaw/cloud
Aetheria's now not an all girls school anymore sorry I cannot do this guys. Littlecloud was Cinder's/Kurumi's good buddy and I like their friendship. Unfortunately, you know what that means.
Karen -> Swiftpaw
Originally was supposed to have Aiko's place before I remembered Little exists. In canon his most notable moment was dying brutally, which I mean also fits the Karen quota. Plus, while not an asshole per se he does have a more fiery/overall angry personality and he did try to impulsively take on a pack of dogs to prove himself and fucking died, if under enough pressure I'm pretty sure he could smash Aiko's/Littlepaw's head in with a brick too👍👍
Yoshiko, Waruna, Kurane -> Brackenpaw/fur, Thornpaw/claw, Brightpaw/heart?
Siblings in canon and two of them are guys so no murderous yuri I guess :(( But I mean I don't have to follow canon to a T anyway lmao so we'll see. In canon, basically the other three remaining apprentices along with Swiftpaw and the ashfern siblings, plus they do function as a trio via just being sibs. Plus some notes from the books: Cinder is the fourth sibling. Brightpaw follows Swiftpaw in his quest to slay the doggy and while he dies she survives but gets her eyeball and half of her entire face's fur torn off.
Real Zilch -> Redtail
He's very dead. Very, very dead. His most iconic moment was dying abruptly and tragically via murder rip in rest
Kei Colan -> Snowkit
He is a child. That's a little boy
Snowkit, signing furiously: MY MAMA GOT FRAMED AND IS GOING TO BE PUBLICALLY EXECUTED BY THE PEACEKEEPERS IF NOTHING IS DONE PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE. HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yellowfang, signing back in swagful motions: and how much cash does your mama have on her currently
Jiei Colan -> Speckletail
Snowkit's very old mama. Looks like she could kill you but genuinely does not have a body count. Yet.
Ramen Stand Owner -> Ravenpaw
Ravenpaw in canon hit the bricks and ran away from the Clans due to being in danger there, and lived out the rest of his days on a farm with his cowboy boyfriend Barley mostly free of drama. I'd say that fits lmao. We can make his old name Rusty, not a problem.
Margulaw -> Pinestar
90 year old voice "yeah so uhh my fucking son grew up to be a dictator now. When he was a newborn ghosts were yelling at me to kill him because he'll grow up to be a bad man otherwise and of course like any sane kanaiwardian father I said "fuck that" and had to leave ma' family behind run away from the company so the demons would shut up. And y'know little buddy... Sometimes I wonder. Sometimes I just can't help but. Y'know. Anyway. Sigh."
Do you get my vision did that sound comprehensible
#mine#rain code#warrior code au#<- oh hey thats an actual thing in wc lmao.#Not tagging any of those characters hell nooo.#the i did not proofread this tag

wait wait wait hear me out
when cats go to the stars (Starclan + Dark forest) they gain traits of other animals. Fireheart might gain horns, ravenscourge might gain wings, etc.
but hear me out.
leopardstar goes to the dark forest section of the stars, and ends up with a snake for a tail, constantly dripping poison onto her flank.
(Inspired by @bonefall and Norse mythology with the snake bit)
Wait. This is cool..
I've had the idea of Star cats having a more sureal dream core look???? And like the more important and impactful a cat is the more weird traits they get..
I just think it would be neat :)

The Evil Firestar AU, or the Firemask AU, is a warrior cats alternate universe
Everything goes as normal, but when Rusty joins the clans, he is apprenticed to Tigerclaw (who is very unhappy about it). Ravenpaw is the apprentice of Bluestar. Meanwhile, Mapleshade is very interested in this new kittypet in ThunderClan (who starts talking his way in and out of trouble and saying very radical ideas about unifying the clans), and begins teaching him how to lie in the DF. There's a subplot of DF politics, but mostly things go as normal. Firepaw manages to convince Tigerclaw not to kill Ravenpaw for finding out about Redtail, and the apprentices all get their warrior names after rescuing the kits from ShadowClan.
Firepaw is named Firemask for the darker orange mask around his eyes.
Tigerclaw ends up killing Bluestar, and naming Darkstripe as deputy. Firemask kills Darkstripe. During that time, Cinderpaw has her accident in a trap that was set for Firemask. Tigerstar acknowledges the game has begun, and after that Swiftpaw and Brightpaw end up attempting to lead the dogs to Tigerstar. They fail, and both are badly wounded, Tigerstar killing Swiftpaw and leaving Brightpaw to die. Firemask and Ravencall (Ravenpaw's warrior name) bring her to the RiverClan border, telling her to run.
Firemask starts his own little group of his supporters.
With great reluctance from everyone involved, Cloudkit is brought to ThunderClan. Firemask starts worrying, and this gets worse when Graystripe and eventually Sandstorm leave for RiverClan (Sandstorm was going to have his kits, and didn’t want them to grow up there). After the TigerClan merges with ShadowClan, he stuffs deathberries in Tigerstar's prey, and that takes his second to last life. Then BloodClan attacks, along with RiverClan and WindClan. This time Scourge doesn't really care about taking over the forest, he just wants to kill Tigerstar. In the midst of the battle, Scourge and Firemask kill Tigerstar a second time, and the TigerClan cats are matched into the RiverClan camp.
Firemask manages to convince Leopardstar not to exile him, and gets passive aggressive nine lives. He is forced into picking Greystripe for his deputy (Ravencall was his first choice). He's not pissed, but not overjoyed at it.
He sort of reconciles with Sandstorm, and that's how the first arc goes. Mapleshade is clowning on Thistleclaw at the end.
That's the basic summary of the first arc, but there is a lot that I didn't go into.
This is the masterpost for those changes!

Ancient Roots: The Dark Forest
Credit where credit is due: This is heavily inspired/built based on what the lovely @bonefall has created! This is just my twist and continued brain rambling!
How do cats get sent to the Dark Forest in the first place???
Die
A StarClan representative is sent to retrieve the soul, just like they would for a StarClan-bound cat
Judgement is held by the cats who have been in StarClan the longest. In this house StarClan is far removed from Clan life, more like TPB than ASC. In theory, the longest existing StarClan members are the ones who founded the clans and, hopefully, should be impartial to history and chaos of living clans
Things that will get a cat sent to the Dark Forest:
Disloyalty
attempted coups EXCEPT if a leader is being challenged for their position (which can only happen if they are harming kits and/or their clan members or are otherwise deemed a poor fit for the role. This is very rare). This also includes cats who turned away from their own clan to join a rogue or outside group (for example: Antpelt allying with the Dark Forest during the Great Battle or Darkstripe joining Tigerstar I)
Harm (abuse, poisoning, murder, etc.,) of cats, especially kits. Killing in battle does not usually result in a cat being sent to the Dark Forest unless the death was unnecessary or uncalled for, not an accident
"Splintering" (pulling an AVoS ShadowClan) of a clan to join a rogue group
Taking over another clan and/or their territory (cough cough Tigerstar I and II cough cough)
With this in mind, the following cats are going to be in the Dark Forest
Tom (abuse)
Bramblestar (abuse)
Frecklewish (harm to kits- indirect)
Hawkheart (murder)
One Eye (attempting to kill a kit)
Ashfur (Tyranny as the Imposter; abuse; attempted harm of cats)
Hollyleaf (Murder)
Darkstripe (Murder)
Mapleshade (Murder)
Thistleclaw (Abuse)
Snowtuft (Attempted coup)
Brokenstar (Murder; harm of kits)
Tigerstar I (Murder; attempted coup)
Redwillow (Disloyalty to one's clan)
Maggottail (unknown)
Stumpytail (Disloyalty to one's clan)
Rainflower (Abuse)
Clawface (Murder)
Juniperclaw (Disloyalty to one's clan; poisoning)
Houndleap (Unknown)
Antpelt (Disloyalty to one's clan)
Rushtooth (Unknown)
Hawkfrost (Murder; abuse)
Darktail (Murder; abuse)
Silverhawk (Coup; murder)
Shredtail (Unknown)
Sparrowfeather (Unknown)
Mudclaw (Attempted Coup)
Clear Sky/Skystar (Murder)
Raggedstar (Murder)
Nettle (Attempted harm of kits- indirect)
Sleekwhisker (Attempted/Threatened Harm of kits; Murder)
Tigerstar II (Takeover of another clan)
Bone (Murder)
Scourge (Murder)
Boulder (Disloyalty to one's clan)
Hoot/Snake (Attempted Murder; abuse; Murder)
Snag/Jaggedtooth (Disloyalty to one's clan)
Jumper/Ice (Abuse; Murder)
Lizardstripe (Abuse; Harm of a kit)
Quick Water (Attempted murder; murder- caused)
Nettle (Abuse)
Slash (Harm of a kit- threatened; Harm of a kit- attempted)
Raggedstar (Abuse)
Leopardstar (Abuse; Harm to kits; Disloyalty to one's own clan)
There will probably be more added to this list, but this is what I have so far! If anyone has any thoughts or ideas of cats to add/remove from this list, let me know! I'd love to hear other's opinions!

HI ok u dont gotta post this i just wanted to give some info bc u mentioned wanting to do disability right and i just wanted to give info u might find useful. Leopardstar has diabetes and while idk if she gets murked or not before that goes into full force, but shed absolutely not be herself during that whole shebang.
The first signs would be increaded dirt place visits to go pee, and needing to drink a lot. Wouldn't be too hard for cats to miss this since they live in riverclan, Clan Of Water, but it'd be an UNUSUAL amount. Personally, i noticed it myself and genuinely got concerned bc i was drinking triple what i normally did and would wake up in the middle of the night specifically to chug water.
Next thing would be her getting skinnier and out of breath more easily. Her body would effectively be eating her muscles away and shed 100% be unable to fight well or even at all at this point- accounting for exercise and a relatively low carb diet of fish, maybe these symptons would show up after a month and a half? At this point a medicine cat could notice the odd lack of energy but i doubt it'd be obvious what was happening, the medicine cat might pat her on the back, give her some herbs (honey or berries would be BADDD), and send her off.
Soon after shed start throwing up sugar, which just straight up burns ur throat like hell. Its hell. She'd also not feel too hungry now- in reality shes starving, and her body is too busy not dying to notice nor care. At this point if Mistyfoot did Her Thing, Leopardstar would barely be able to stand let alone fight her. In her final days shed be completely weakened and barely able to focus, and she'd start getting pains in her stomach and pelvis. I was unfortunate enough to cut it extremely close, and when i was diagnosed i was told i had less than half a week to live if i hadnt went to the hospital. Depending on if the medicine cat catches on, they could absolutely be making everything 50 times worse by feeding her berries or honey to soothe her burning throat, feeding a cycle of eating honey and throwing up the sugars in the honey. I did this with gingerale and it SUCKED.
Now!! If you want to have leopardstar put up a FIGHT and have her have diabetes and live with it, theres a few ideas. Firstly, only type 1 i believe can be treated without insulin. Secondly, Bloodclan could 100% steal human insulin and give it to Riverclan. The two are compatible i /think/. Three, idk the exact process but apparently you can make ur own insulin using the pancreas from animals, which she could use to survive. Four, without medicine, shed have to do a lot of exercise and manage her diet. With a raw fish diet it's much easier, but she'll probably not be too happy about not being able to eat tunnelbuns without feeling like crap and throwing it up after.
Going down the Bloodclan sourced medicine route, Misty could also kill her using the medicine. Insulin is a delicate balance- too little and you start throwing up and ur body eats u again. Too much and you have no energy to move and you can die within the next hour. Doesnt even take that much, a dose of 18 when youre supposed to take 16 can be deadly. Double that amount and i doubt even a medicine cat could save her even if she knew- low bloodsugars make someone irrational or emotional + extremely whoozy, and its HARD to force feed someone honey when theyre adamant that theyre perfectly fine and just a little sleepy, thats all. In her sleep, and Leopardstar would maybe wake up briefly, feel extremely tired and odd and unable to move, and fall asleep and die.
Anyways this has been ur probably too long rant about diabetes and leopardstar hopefully its helpful in some way o7
[ID: A student is taking notes]
You know, in my rewrite, Leopardstar is actually going to be killing Crookedstar. Not in a way where she would be caught-- I had been thinking it would be a generic poisoning. Maybe it would be dramatic and fascinating if Leopardstar had actually pulled this insulin trick... only to then recognize that Mistyfoot is trying to poison her in the same way.
I'm committed to Leopardstar dying in a battle with Mistyfoot. I had this awesome idea for the Sweet Nothings AU where a Villain Thornclaw lead Hollyleaf somewhere that the winner wouldn't be caught for their victory, so they could have a proper fight to the death.
What if I used that plotbunny here instead? Leopardstar realizing that Mistyfoot had brought her the wrong dose of insulin (I will work out how they get insulin when I make a herb guide for it), and deciding if either of them is going to die, they will die honorably. Not by trickery, but by the strength of their claws.
So she calls for Mistyfoot, tells the Clan they will be confronting rogues at the border, and then they march towards their final confrontation.
#And as for diabetes--#The two guys who have diabetes in canon are Heavystep and Leopardstar. These characters are both Thistle Law supporters#So I will be grabbing some others to have this#Reedwhisker is the father of Curlfeather and Podlight in this so Frostpaw or her sibs could get it#Or even Stormfur#Or I could just grab some randos to have it. I think it may be cool if Mousewhisker has it actually#Since he has a relationship with Minnowtail#He could justify his meetings as going to trade for his meds#I will probably be making the WC equivalent of herbal insulin come from some sort of fish#At first I figured Pikes would be really cool since they have huge livers#But I need to look closer at big pancreases in british wildlife...#Disability#Bonefall Leopardstar#Bonefall Rewrite#Bonefall TNP#Bonefall Mistystar

I’m all for hitting Mudfur with the women beam. Brightsky can swap the gender
I think Brightsky could work as a kittypet. If only the parallels with Tigerstar. Her being friends with Pinestar would be extra juicy.
Mudfur being a related to Volestar would be awesome. Maybe it would add into Leopardstar’s character in some way?
Dorito "Womanbeam" Paw101 rolling up into the askbox with a HOT TAKE about the use of the woman beam; what happens next will shock you!
WOMAN BEAAAMMM
Being related to Volestar definitely adds to her, it gives her a sense of legacy she's considering. Volestar was chosen by Darkstar to be her successor when Spiketail is killed by Oakstar, during a raid where he tried to steal Reedshine's kittens.
(Darkstar then drowned Oakstar twice in a river fight before saving his life, because, "A true warrior does not need to kill to win their battles... bitch")
Darkstar wanted a deputy who wouldn't get bullied by Oak if she died before he did. So she picked Volepelt, who supported her commandment from the very beginning. Loud and proud. Always standing her ground against the pressures of the other Clans.
So Mudfur and Leopardstar coming from that line says a lot about the sort of legacy they have. A strong leader who didn't back down, chosen exactly because she was so stubborn. Both compassionate and ruthless.
Anyway, Mudfur's a girl now so womanbeamification complete lmao. Girlbossline.

In light of looking at the warrior cats forums recently and seeing a lot of talk about which cats would win in fights based on their canon performances, I want to ask about... fighting skills in your rewrite. I feel like canon makes ThunderClan cats overpowered with them winning all of their battles, and I already know you have made some changes to at least one cat's level of fighting skills, with Deadfoot getting a buff with his leg gauntlet and now being on the same level as Leopardfur. So, who do you plan to be the strongest and weakest fighters? I would love if you included some more minor characters in Clans other than ThunderClan in "strongest fighters" here.
An opportunity to explain which of my Littlest Petshop figurines has the strongest smash abilities? Don't mind if I dooo
Absolutely don't worry about ThunderClan hogging all the strongest fighters, I disagree heavily with the general fandom consensus that TC is The Fighting Clan. It's a BATTLE CULTURE. They ALL fight. They all have to fight THUNDERCLAN too at points, it's not like TC is the sleeping giant of the forest you know?
General Ability
While I haven't made "stat charts" yet (though i am only one bored afternoon away from making one), I try to imagine my major characters (and plenty of supporting ones) as having specific strengths and weaknesses
Brief list of some of the "stats" I've considered
Battle Skill = NOT raw strength; how good they are at fighting period.
Hunting (General) = Overall ability to find food in all situations
Hunting (Specific) = RiverClan's canonical 'white water fishers' or Bonefall Tallpoppy's frog hunting talent
Diplomacy = Conflict deescalation skills and persuasion
Craftiness = Problem-solving skills and dexterity
One of the reasons my Clan Culture series has slowly started to bleed into the Bonefall Rewrite is exactly because "craftiness" makes a really good 'stat' when the imagined 'mass' of a given Clan starts to become too generic fighter/hunter heavy.
But a Deputy is chosen exactly because they excel in as many skills as possible. So you can safely assume that any time you are dealing with a deputy, you are getting ready for a miniboss fight.
Exceptions to the rule being, of course, when the deputy has been chosen for reasons unrelated to their actual skill. Onewhisker was an unfortunate example; nepotism picks also happen.
Some Amazing Fighters In No Particular Order
When I pick cats who are GREAT fighters I try to avoid just picking large, muscular cats like canon does. Sorreltail is HUGE like her dad Whitestorm, but she really doesn't have the same chops. I really like to consider actual fighting styles.
Deadfoot
Like other WindClan fighters, he's super fast. His gauntlet is actually more defensive than you'd guess. Getting a FULL bonk with it is cumbersome, but if it lands, it's devastating. To do it he has to rear up and bring it down with full speed so if his enemy is anticipating this, it leaves his belly wide open
Plus, that time he fought Leopardfur by the gorge, he was probably wearing his travel gauntlet (lightweight for comfort). Not the battle one. It was a very fair fight.
Jayfeather
His fighting style is distinctive and looks horrific to an observer. Because he's blind and fast-moving targets evade him, he has been trained to latch on. Like a dog. He gets a bite and grapples, only letting go to get a better position.
I think it's kinda fun to think that Deadfoot's grandson has an equally unique fighting style to his own.
Tangleburr
And there are a ton of great ShadowClan fighters, but Tangleburr LOVES to fight and gets in so many spats and brawls that she's just ferocious. I like to think her and Brokenstar used to playfight a lot as kids, when he wasn't hanging out with Runny.
Lizardstripe wasn't an ABUSIVE mother, but she did have a generally bad idea of what sorts of activities were developmentally appropriate. If the kids wanted to brawl she would happily tussle. She probably nicked an ear on accident at some point.
So, Tangle has had a lot of experience fighting cats who are larger than herself. Important skills, considering she's about the same size as Runningnose.
Leopardstar
Of course she's a very strong cat, but I also want to mention she kills Thistleclaw, because the patrol that he dies on is now the same one that kills Sunfish. She ripped his throat open in revenge and he drops like a sack of potatoes.
She also has a habit of dramatic entries in canon that I really like and want to work in more of-- that time in Dangerous Path where she drops off a cliffside and JUST barely misses Fireheart's neck, slicing his shoulder open like a dropped butcher knife? Marvelous. I love that for her
When Mistyfoot has to kill her later, she got a bit lucky, or maybe a little bit blessed. There was a large stone just poking above the water and Misty smashes Leopardstar's head against it. She might not have won if it wasn't for that stroke of fate.
Hawkfrost
Bonefall Hawkfrost is much thinner than his dad and brother. He's an excellent fighter because his WHOLE body moves, a sort of cat-ambidexterity. I really like that one scene in OotS where he's training a bunch of the DF trainees how to fight a crowd so I based his entire fighting style on it.
He can be grappling the cat in front of him, then twist his weight to throw them right at the next cat running up. Sneaking up on him never works as his back leg lashes out to strike you square in the face. He's like a war machine.
His drawback of course is that fine motor skills are beyond him. He couldn't weave a nest if his life depended on it.
There's others that I've picked to have a generally high Fighting Skill stat but hasn't really worked out their styles; Torear, Whitewater, Rosepetal, Thornclaw, Graystripe, Skyheart, Icewing, Mudclaw, Sedgewhisker, Marshwing, so on.
#Warrior Cats#Battle styles#Cat Stats#Bonefall Rewrite#Hawkfrost#Leopardstar#Tangleburr#Mistyfoot#Jayfeather#Deadfoot#I should make a Cat Stat series at some point it would be fun#Not until after I've gotten the other things out of the way tho

Misty deserves to go ape shit. Let her do murder.
I’m a fan of Misty drowning Leopardstar when they get to the lake. After all the shit Leopardstar did and let happen even after Tigerclan disbanded, Misty won’t let it blow a second time, or with a stone for the symbolism (can you tell Bonefall has infected me?)
I refuse to believe she didn’t take at least one of Blackstar’s lives and there’s no quotes in canon saying otherwise so I’m right by default :)
Dueling him wasn’t a request, it was her right in her mind and she dared anyone to deny her rights again.
you 🤝 me
pro misty going murder mode
Also BIG yeah on that last point. He executed her brother, he wouldn’t be able to show his face if he denied her right to retribution. You have nine lives and yet you deserve none of them, nine lives but I’ll take one and may you never forget it.
#deer rambles#giggling and kicking my feet thinking about cat fuels#i mentioned it in my tags but i do love bonefall’s post tpb rc political climate#how the ideology of Tigerstar still lingers and Leopardstar only allows it to fester#and it posits the solution when this happen: rip out the weed#leopardstar wasn’t going to risk losing her community for her attitude#she was the one who was going to make it spread

"Why does Mistystar have to be different though? I don't see how it would harm the story to have Mistystar not kill Leopardstar and to have her "follow the code to avoid being seen as an outcast/having all of that happen again" mindset, which I think is interesting."
@halogenwarrior
I think it harms the entire Bonefall Rewrite if she doesn’t, honestly. In fact Mistystar’s killing of Leopardstar, I will argue, is the thesis of Hawkfrost’s arc in Bonefall TNP
As much as she can, she tries to prevent what happened to Hawkfrost from ever happening again, truly wrapping up his story for Bonefall TNP.
But of course, she isn’t perfect.
"I can't really see the Mistystar you have acting the way she does in TBC.
Then again the niche of "half clan cat who feels they have to prove themselves loyal to prove those cats wrong and goes to extremes" might already be taken by Hawkfrost and Reedwhisker under Skyheart's apprenticeship, and I guess I could still see her acting the way she does due to worry for StarClan
Maybe being conflicted by being terrified to be without her ancestors' guidance and never see the family and friends she lost again and hating StarClan that they would (supposedly) abandon the Clans unless they harshly enforce the code the way TigerClan did?"
I think it’ll help you understand this situation better if you keep in mind Traditionalism is a belief system in its own right-- and it IS a bloody ideology. Even before Brokenstar implements Thistle Law for the first time in his own way, the entire Chivalric Period is a testament to how brutal Traditionalism is on its own.
And Traditionalism actually describes the beliefs of both Bonefall Mistyfoot AND Bonefall Ashfur. Like the Honeysuckle Bush, the Clans come from the same root, but must help each other quash weakness in their society.
The fear of not seeing StarClan again DEFINITELY helps Mistystar squish her doubts, but she actually agrees with Bramblefake. Half-clan relationships ARE bad in her eyes, but punishing the products of them is what’s wrong. The Clans HAVE drifted too far from the Warrior Code and Codebreakers should be reigned in.
Both Thistle Law and Fire Alone are responses to Traditionalism; but all three are distinct positions. Opposing Thistle Law doesn’t automatically make you support Fire Alone.
Killing Bristlefrost at the Gathering would have shocked and sickened her, as that breaks the code in and of itself, but the full moon assures her that this must be what StarClan wants... so she doubles down.
How do you plan to deal with the end of TBC? I know it bugs a lot of people (including me) that Starclan just said they can make mistakes but also weren’t going to retrial the cats in the df who clearly have grown. I think maybe a retrial could fit in well with the whole Queen’s Commandment thing where all cats involved with Mapleshade’s kits were sent to the df. Starclan seeing how wrong they were on Frecklewish and Ravenwing’s fates finally letting them go where they should’ve off.
Also think this could lend to a heart splitting scene where Frecklewish finally gets to reunite with Barkface and Flowerpaw (another note I feel like she would’ve cared for her half nieces Mistkit and Nightkit especially seeing just how the poor kits brother became feeling that maybe if Tigerpaw had had some family around when Pine left he wouldn’t of turned out the same)
You're gonna be mad at me but right now I plan to leave the ending of TBC the same; I get the feeling that, hopefully, the Erins are setting something up about it.
I keep my standards low, fear not, but it would seem awful convenient that they set up backstories for Sparrowfeather and Silverhawk, gave Juniperclaw a role in defending the border between realms, and (ASC SPOILERS) tease that Curlfeather might not be in StarClan, only for none of that to be relevant in the next arc or two.
However I do plan for this to be a choice StarClan is sort of mixed about. Allowing Juniperclaw, + Bonefall Mudclaw + Bonefall Morningstar to guard the boundary was the compromise that people like Firestar were able to win for the Dark Forest Redeemers.
They continue to try and push StarClan forward on this issue
On that note I am planning for Breezepelt to be a Light in the Mist instead. He goes to walk his dad to the Sisters like he did in ALITM, and then knocks him out and goes in his place. He makes a good speech about the importance of second chances.
It's also worth noting that the Dark Forest isn't as bad as it is in canon, though.
#Mistystar is actually one of the most important characters thematically#Though she is WILDLY different from canon#And that's not even saying that I think canon Mistystar is bad or boring (though sometimes she was in earlier arcs)#But fixing Leopardstar meant that Mistystar also has to change in response#Canon Misty is a direct response to the way that Leopardstar magically fixed herself after TNP#But the Bonefall Rewrite is a refutation of that; Fascism doesn't sort itself out. It has to be fought and it has to be snuffed out.#Blackstar is allowed to keep the Reckoning and lead his Clan with repentance. Between them one of them had to NOT repent#And that character has to get deposed#It worked out that it was Leopardstar#Sooo TLDR don't worry dude I've deeply thought this one out#Leopardstar#Bonefall Rewrite#Bonefall TNP#CW Fascism#Mistystar#Hawkfrost#Also my apologies if I repeated a link I'm zooming through as many responses as I can since the asks are piling up aaaaaah

I think Finchlight's name translating to "Thistle-Eating Finch Glows Like Fire," which is better understood as "This Cat Kills Fascists," is also worth being on there
I hope your friend's brain is exploded to bits

How did you decide Leopard killed Crooked via poisoning, or was that from one of your AUs? If so, which AU does that come from?
It's gone through incarnations. I'm still very fond of the idea that both he and she have a form of diabetes, and because of that, she knew how to fuck with his doseage and just weaken him without killing him outright.
But then I wasn't sure if that would be in good taste or not, so I've swapped it over to just good old fashioned poisoning for now.
The original idea of Leopardstar poisoning Crookedstar started with Fire and Water iirc, which is an AU written by someone else following a RiverClan Firestar. I can't recommend that fic enough, but I also remember getting the poisoning as ask suggestions a few times.
But anyway it's always been BB, and goes back to when I was still calling it the Bonefall Rewrite. I think it's fitting for her and her ambition, as something underhanded and dishonorable that she felt was neccesary but still regrets.
#Fire and Water really is a great series btw especially if you're fond of Leopardstar redemption#I crave a continuity that doesn't redeem her though#I like my Leopardstar with a sense of beastly poise#Like a regal animal#One who accepts the path she feels destined to walk and most of all despises humiliation#Idk what it is about RiverClan girls man Misty and Leopard feel like knights to me#Both alike in dignity. Both miles apart in heart.#A knight and a leopard#And then sedge in the corner just being a silly billy#The tyrant queen. The usurper hero. The court jester#Im not normal about these three#Bone babble
