“Looks like you catch on pretty quickly. As tempting as it seems, I am not the kind of girl to do such things.” She admitted as she dug through her box of clothing, her towel slipping from her body as she found appropriate attire. She dropped her clothing onto the bed as she spoke to Vincent, placing on her undergarments. “Hm…no preferences. I'm not very picky, so surprise me with something you like.” She slipped her black pants on, zipping them up as she grabbed her tank top. She slipped it over her head and onto her torso, picking up her phone as she slipped her bathing suit into her purse.
“Send me directions to the docks when you want me to leave. I mapped out the area a few days ago. But I got a bit distracted, so I may get lost unless I use my phone.” She admitted, looking at herself in her mirror, her eyes drifting to her visible scars. She still felt uncomfortable looking at them, but she shook it off as she grabbed a jacket from a box. She put it on, looking at herself once more as she sighed softly.
"No it is not. Or safe from getting lost when you don't always know where you were when you had them on." He walked towards his closet to pick out a nice flannel and some clean khakis. "Birthday Suit is definitely tempting. But I really feel like you're not the kind of girl who's one with the ways of naturism. Not that anyone would stop you from coming without any if you wanted. This is Covaire after all."
He then grabbed a belt and a pair of new boardshorts. He wanted to make sure the swimwear was stowed away on the Seawolf now that she was seaworthy again. "Alright, I'll make sure to get some things onboard before you get here then. Nothing too fancy for clothes. Just casual and light. And a jacket if you tend to get chilly. Bring a bathing suit if you want to go swimming. The typical stuff. Got any food preferences?"

She hesitated to answer his question for a second as her mind flashed back to that night, nodding softly as she spoke. “Yeah…I had already been pretty badly injured, so I was desperate to reach out to my friend. My gut told me to just talk to him and…it worked. He wasn't a…” She paused as the word ‘monster’ got stuck in her mouth. Guilt set in the pit of her stomach, thinking that way about Vincent. “…Wasn’t trying to kill me anymore.” She admitted, choosing her words wisely as she spoke.
She laughed softly at Trevor’s words, thankful for the switch of topic from the memories of that night. She listened to him, closing her eyes and extending her arm, trying not to giggle at Trevor’s choice of words. “Hard to imagine my arm as a branch when it compares better to a twig.” She joked, her eyes remaining shut. Her arm flinched as Trevor’s hand grazed her, guiding it to position. Her stiffness slowly melted as he whispered behind her.
She took a deep breath to calm her nerves as she tried to clear her mind.
"You must have been doing it very instinctual then. Was it to save your life?" Because some wolves had gone slightly crazy after being forced to shift without Mother Moon in the sky. He hates controlling werewolves, but it had been a necessity during the attack to get through some of them.
He chuckles and shakes his head. "You're not to me. But if I remember my many first attempts, I was told we felt like toddlers trying to play with a cat." In other words, they were too brusque, and that scared animals away. "Let's try together. Close your eyes, and extende your hand loosely. Imagine your hand be the most amazing branch, and that you are yourself a bird chilling there, and just singing happily. Waiting for whoever feels like joining you." He whispers beside her, as he moves her hand into position. "If you want to communicate with fauna, you must become one of them."

Delilah laughed with Vincent, covering her mouth and muffling the sound slightly before he was placed on the speaker. “Something added to the list of interesting werewolf facts. Clothing is not safe from destruction.” She teased drying herself as they talked, listening to his options. She paused for a while at his last suggestion, before deciding she didn't want to think about work for once. She was slowly learning she needed to enjoy the moments she had away from the hospital. “Hm…Options One and Three sound interesting. However, I think Option Three sounds much more romantic. Plus, I've been itching for an excuse to see the waters of Covaire.”
She dropped her towel and grabbed her phone before heading to her bedroom. She placed her phone on her makeshift bed before opening a box full of clothing. “Anything specific you have in mind for attire? Cause I doubt my birthday suit is suitable for a boat ride.” She teased as she giggled softly.
Vincent laughed. "Well, you and anyone else in the Launderette. Clothes don't exactly stay on when you shift. Or if they do, they get shredded. As for the date..." He pretended to hum and think about it before giving her some options.
"Option 1, we go have a nice dinner and a movie. Option 2, dancing and drinks at VIP. Option 3, we go out into the bay on the Seawolf and spend an evening off the coast. Option 4, you get to do that brain scan you wanted."

Delilah giggles softly at his comment about his mom, her mind drifting to her dad. “My dad would be excited to know I'm even on a date. As much as it was pleasant to know I wasn't sneaking out, I doubt he wanted me to just stay home mutilating my dolls to simulate surgery. Hm…” She pretends to think for a second as she grins. “Maybe disemboweling isn't off the table after all.” She laughs, squeezing his arm as she teases him. She was truly enjoying their back-and-forth teasing and took note that he had impeccable listening skills the more they talked.
She looked up at Felix, taking his features in more as they talked. At the mention of the club, she peaked with interest, never going to a club before. The idea of grinding on strangers wasn't all that appealing, but the idea of trying something new and mind-numbing was. “Well…I guess that sounds like it could be interesting. Though, I'm not sure how I feel about grinding against strangers. Not something I've…done ever.” She admitted honestly, feeling her cheeks flush with embarrassment as spoke. Her eyes seemed to drift off, her head turning down to the sidewalk as they walked together.
Some cops got what they needed from people by being hard-asses. That had never been Felix's style. He could hear his mother in the back of his mind talking about how you could always catch more flies with honey than vinegar. And it had stuck. Felix was still smiling as he shrugged, "I wouldn't know. I've never met a Siren. Maybe it's a seven to ten business day wait before disembowelment?" He teased. "Well, technically you have the voice of an Elysian. So who knows? But it is very pleasant." When she took his arm he nodded and began off in a vague direction that would get them anywhere once she let him know what she was into. He was suitably impressed with her job and what she was doing with herself in the city and said, "My mom would be so excited that I'm on a date with a Doctor."
He'd just been teasing, he couldn't help it. But as she talked he still listened soaking up all of the details. Because that's what he did for work. Paying attention was kind of key. Delilah struck him as a workaholic like himself, but maybe an even more extreme case. He at least knew how to let off steam. He shook his head, "I find the library pretty dull myself. But I'm not going to yuck someone's yum." He laughed, "I'm pretty used to being around yelling and siren's myself. I understand the allure."
Felix looked down at Delilah as they walked, listening to her he shook his head, "I was just teasing you. I wasn't trying to say you're dull. That would be a pretty asshole move since I just met you." But when she started talking about dancing he nodded his head. "There is a very good club called VIP Elite. I go there quiet often and it is not the cheapest place but the hands down best for dancing." When she talked about tripping on her feet he shook his head, "This is more like grinding with strangers to music so loud you can't hear your thoughts kind of dancing. No one is worrying if you know how to two-step or not."

Coviwood: Delilah McLaine - 29 - Upcoming Actress
Delilah was never the popular kid, often seen as the loner who only needed herself to survive. Everyone always thought she would be a doctor or scientist, but Delilah had always dreamed of being famous. She abandoned her hometown to pursue an education in theater and the arts, working as a bartender to get by. However, after meeting a director straight after college, she gave up her career to let him build up his. Paying their bills and cleaning up after him for a decade. It all paid off though as he helped her get the starring role in his new TV Series, “Crimes on Campus”. Unfortunately, the show was poorly written and was unlikely to get a third season. However, under her boyfriend's suggestion and multiple peers pressuring her into doing “What's best for everyone?”, she stood naked in front of the camera for most of the second season. Thanks to her choice, her cast has a third season to look forward to, while Delilah feels like she lost a part of herself by degrading herself for a show. She is still unsure about her decision and finds comfort at the bottom of a bottle.
Connections
Vincent - Friend: Vincent is one of the cameramen on “Crimes on Campus” and met Delilah through her boyfriend, Rory. She found Vincent easy to talk to compared to her cast members and would often spend more time with him on her breaks than her fellow Co-Stars.
Rory - Now Ex-Boyfriend (NPC): Delilah met Rory right after college and even gave up her career to help support his dreams. But he had changed over the years, and after he and her Co-stars pressured her into getting naked for views, she broke things off with him and made him move out. This made things awkward for her on set.
Willing to add more connections

His grin was contagious, and Delilah couldn't seem to erase the smile on her features for the first time in a while. His humor was a much-needed breath of fresh air, making him more intriguing than she initially would have thought. "If I were a Siren, you would have already been in my apartment chopped up, don't you think? After all, I have the voice of an 'Angel.'" She teased, watching as he offered his arm for her to hold. She slipped close to his side before slipping her arm around his. "If you were to call me by my Job Title, you would call me Doctor McLaine. I'm a Surgical Resident at the Medical Center. I currently bounce between Trauma and Pediatrics, though I should settle on a decision sooner rather than later so I can choose a specialty to focus on."
She answered honestly, her smile slightly growing as she talked about work. Her happy place had always been in surgery, where she could save lives. She wasn't sure if her adoptive parents or her late mother's illness pushed her down this path, but she couldn't be happier with her choice. She laughed as he made fun of her for her activities, squeezing his arm gently. "Would it surprise you that I find the library quite dull? Thanks to my active lifestyle, I can only read a book if I hear sirens and yelling in the distance. A place with no noise simply won't do." She teased, softly giggling as she continued, trying to think of something fun.
"I may seem dull, but I can be plenty of fun. I have not tried it yet, but I have always been interested in dancing. Though, I doubt I'd be any good at it. I'd likely trip on my feet, but I'd try it if you like things like that."
Felix grinned, "Damsel or a siren in disguise? It's all possible. Maybe this whole thing was just pretense to get me to agree to help you out and your a horrible axe murderer? Maybe I'm the real damsel here and I don't even know it? " He took her in, appreciating what he saw as he did so but he kept it respectful. He was still a civil servant after all even when he wasn't on duty. When she used the word date he smiled at her. "I agree. First names are better for first dates." Felix was always up for a good time. "But if I was going to call you by your job title what would it be?" A fun way to ask her what she did in the city. She had said she was still new so she probably did something but that wasn't always the case.
He offered her his arm and said, "Come along then Delilah and you'll have to tell me about the things you count as fun. I know what I think is fun. But you were going to spend a day memorizing street signs. So I have no clue what you think would be a real rager. You might think the library is a wild time. Which is fine if you do. But you have to give a detective a a few clues."

The brunette was standing in her shower, letting the water stream down her body as she closed her eyes. The steam clouded the glass doors of her shower, the warmth of the water giving her a sense of comfort her lonely apartment couldn't. Her mind drifted to a dark place again, and she couldn't stop it. She almost jumped out of her skin when her phone rang, startling her out of her thoughts as her hand moved from the scar on her shoulder. She opened her eyes, wiped the glass, and glanced at the bathroom sink. She was surprised to see Vincent's name flashing on the screen.
She wiped her tears away and rinsed off any remaining soap, turning off the water quickly. She stumbled out of the shower, grabbing her towel and wrapping it around her body as she cleared her throat. She then picked up her phone and answered, a smile gracing her lips as she heard his voice. "Hey Stranger..." Her voice was soft as she spoke, smiling as she continued. "That's alright. I figured it was best to give you space anyway. Since I saw you naked before the first date."
She giggled softly as she said this, trying to joke around with him. "I actually have the...'night'...off. Plus, I owe you a date. So...What do you have in mind, Vincent?"
@delilahmclaine
Vincent was inspecting the finishing touches on the rebuild of the boat that he'd initially been apparently delivering as the attacks hit Covaire. And as he was signing off on the last inspections, an alert he set for himself that morning went off with a phone number he'd apparently gotten and called before as his other self. A number to a cute doctor he'd promised to contact the next time he had one of his good days. Call Delilah.
He made sure to excuse himself from the shop and get a shower before dialing, smiling as he heard the line get picked up.
"Hey stranger. Sorry I haven't had a chance to call you as myself. Hope you're not too busy to go out while the Knight is away."

"I guess I'll have to prove I'm no ordinary Damsel then. Huh?" The brunette teased as she giggled softly, watching him sip his coffee. She turned her eyes to the street signs while waiting for his response. She could feel his eyes on her, so she turned back to look at him as he spoke, nodding gently as he requested she use his name. "I can do that for you, Felix. After all..." She bit her lip as she chose her following words wisely. "It wouldn't be right to call a date by his job title. Don't you think?"
It was meant as a joke to call him her date because, in truth, Delilah had never been on one before. She had talked about having one with Vincent but had been unable to proceed due to the recent events. "Now, why don't you lead the way, Felix. Take me anywhere. I trust you to know where the fun is."
Felix grinned when he had to explain a pub quiz to the woman. But not everyone grew up with them. He took a drink of his coffee and smiled, "I think that anyone can be a damsel with or without a dragon present. There are a lot of qualifying factors to becoming a damsel."
He looked down at the woman as she smiled up at him. Seeing that she seemed to be game for something a little more exciting than memorizing street signs. He nodded his head when she spoke. Looking at her as she turned away from him for a brief moment. "Oh I've got a few ideas. Even if starring at street signs is a low bar to out excite. But you have to call me Felix instead of Detective. Since I'm off duty and all."

Delilah had left her apartment earlier in the morning, heading towards the woods for a walk to clear her mind. She hadn't had a walk in the woods since she left her hometown, and she figured it was the best place to be alone. It almost felt strange to be outside the hospital, the white walls slowly becoming all she knew the last few weeks. She found it refreshing to be outside the city and found the woods a great way to test her abilities. However, as time passed, frustration began to take hold of her, a groan leaving her lips as all the animals around her ran off. She sat on the ground as the animals around her ran off, her face buried in her hands.
She wasn't sure what she was doing wrong, but she could tell this wouldn't be as effortless as she imagined. With Vincent, it seemed like a trigger had flipped in his brain without her even having to try. However, with the animals in the woods, it had the opposite effect despite her efforts. The eery silence was slowly getting to her, but she kept trying, hoping the animals would return. Instead, Trevor surprised her as she uncovered her face, standing up swiftly in panic. She lowers her guard when she sees his familiar face, the Elysian she met at the dive bar.
"I guess...That's why it worked on my friend then...during the..." She trailed off, responding to his words as her mind drifted back to the attack. "I didn't intend to force it. I just wanted to talk to them...Am I really giving off a threatening vibe?" She asked calmly.
Trevor is walking in the woods, couple animals following him around. At this point, he's no longer needs to use his power as they've grown used to his presence and just follow out of curiosity. Though, he still uses them from time to time to communicate with them. The only thing he hasn't really practice in Covaire City since coming back, is controlling wolves on full moon. He knows he can since he's fully trained, but he doesn't want to get in trouble.
Though, when the animals suddenly stop, he knows he's no longer alone, most run away, but a Blue Jay remains on his shoulder. And there, he finds Delilah around a couple bushes. He can tell she's trying to use her powers. "You're forcing it, won't work like that. We command animals sure, but it's easier to make friends first. Or at least, let them knows we aren't predators to them." He points at the blue bird on his shoulder. "This little guy here is there on his own free will." He explains calmly.

The brunette turned her kind gaze back to Eden as the woman offered apologies, noticing the compassion in her eyes as she spoke. She let out a snicker, shaking her head slightly as she spoke up again. "I guess I can't really complain; I did choose to be a surgeon. It's sorta in the job description to never catch a break. That and sleep deprivation." She couldn't help but joke, hoping to lighten the mood more. The doctor watched Eden smile, blinking slightly as she asked for coffee. She smiled as she slowly nodded, pushing her back off the elevator wall.
"That sounds like a great idea. I would love a coffee with extra sugar and creamer. I find black to be too bitter." Delilah answered, feeling the elevator slow as they continued talking. "Most people don't get to leave just yet. But...Being there for them does help the recovery process. So, as long as you support Leone, she should be out of here in no time. Even if with leftover injuries."
She could easily imagine that—- medical personnel in a city like covaire saw all kinds of horror as is, given the nature of it's inhabitants, add to that the attacks... "I'm sorry," it wasn't her fault but she still felt compelled to show her compassion. "And with as things are you can't really catch a break right now, can you?" People were injured still and healing—- needing care.
Well that's a first. She offers Delilah a smile "I'd invite you for a coffee if you have time? To keep your mind occupied for a little while longer?" it's a genuine offer. "Surely there is a Café nearby," she'd rather be anywhere but here. "Yeah, Leone." she nods "I'd love to take them with me but—- not yet I'm afraid."

Delilah found the detective's grin contagious, finding its way on her face the more they talked. His sense of humor was a much-needed change of pace after recent events. "I guess you may be right. After all, a little bit of mystery adds to the fun anyway. Plus, I've always loved a challenge." She admitted, finding the possibility of a competition a bit thrilling. She was relieved in a way when he said he hadn't encountered any dragons, but anything was possible. The existence of Elysians and Chthonics would be a legend if not for their awakening three years ago.
"Well, I'm glad to know there are no dragons here to truly make me a Damsel." She teased, looking up at him with her doe brown eyes as they spoke. She smirked at his question, not even needing to deliberate her answer. She knew she wanted an exciting adventure that didn't include street signs. She pretended to think about it, turning away for just a moment. "I think I'd like some excitement, Detective. An adventure would do me some good, and I have a feeling you already have something in mind."
She turned back to him as she said this, looking into his eyes expectantly.
Felix shook his head with a big grin, "That's the excitement of trivia nights. You never know what the categories will be until you get there. Studying ahead of time would be cheating. And where's the challenge in that?" He took another sip of his coffee and nodded his head, "I am happy to say that so far I have had to encounter zero dragons in my tenure on the CCPD. But I wouldn't put anything past the city." He had smelled that she was an Elysian right when they had begun to talk. But the cooler hand was a confirmation.
"Hypothetical dragons. But I do indeed help damsels if needed." He looked down at the woman as she moved a little closer the smile still on his lips. "Of course not. It would be a shame to leave a damsel in distress. But I have to ask you this, Delilah. Do you want to see street signs? Or do you want to do something exciting? Because those two things don't have a lot of crossover."

The doctor notices Nore smiling warmly as she rolls the girl through the hospital corridors. Nore's enthusiasm was a fresh pace for Delilah, almost infectious. She couldn't help but smile as well as she let Nore jump from one topic to another. She had never gardened herself but found her passion in other places, as she liked being outside herself. "I've never gardened before, but I prefer the outside world over these boring halls. The beach is one of my favorite places, though I have yet to visit the one in the city." The doctor admitted, thinking about her lack of adventure recently.
"Recovery always feels longer than it is for almost every patient I encounter. To some, a week is just a few days, but sometimes it can feel like an eternity." She answered, opening a door with her back as she walked to their destination. "The need to move around must be irritating, but with your energy, I doubt you'll take long to walk. You seem determined enough." She stopped as she reached her favorite area, the children's ward. Animals decorated the walls here, and the children were loud and full of joy. There weren't many children in the hospital, but the few there were always happy to see visitors.
Nore kept her blue eyes wide as she was wheeled through the hospital. A small smile and rare smile crept onto her lips. Having wheels was...kinda fun. What is she used her Elysian speed to get around? She'd be simply a blur. "I'm sure it'll be great. I like being outside much better than being indoors. I've been trying to learn how to garden. People said that was a relaxing way to wind down from your day." Her inner child mind tended to wander from topic to topic, without even realizing people might not be able to follow it. Stories started to pour out seemingly at random sometimes. One thought lead to another lead to another.
She sighed at Dr. Angel's response to her legs working. "How come a week feels like forever?" She asked, pursing her lips to the side. "But yes, thank you. That sounds great. I want to try to walk as soon as possible. I want to be able to have my feet under me again."

"Probably wasn't comfortable to shift against your will. Seems you and Israel had the same reaction most wolves did." Delilah smiled softly as he tried to lighten the mood, using one hand to stroke his fur. "You better not argue with Dr. Angel. My name may sound innocent, but I can be quite strict." She joked, looking away from him, looking out the glass doors. She was still on edge herself, but Vincent made her feel calmer than she had when this all started. She eventually turned back to look at him.
"When this is all over...I really hope you'll still call me from a new phone..." She bit her lip slightly. "I have to thank you for saving my life after all."
"Well, the Dominion was holding last I checked, so they're fine if they're inside already. Probably worried sick about me since our call got cut short when I shifted against my will over on the East Side. No thumbs." He chuffed a bit as he showed her his paws. Some humor to lighten the mood. "Can't argue with the doctor."

"I...It has been a tough couple of days..." The brunette admitted, letting out a heavy sigh as she leaned against the back of the elevator. She looked at Eden with sorrow, biting her lip as she thought about how little she did. She had been too injured to help anyone during the attacks, leaving her incapable of doing her job. "We're all pretty shaken despite how much tragedy we saw." She closed her eyes as she listened to the hum of the elevator.
Delilah opened her eyes when the woman admitted she wasn't fond of hospitals, not finding it too surprising. She had met many people, patients, even, who found hospitals unpleasant. "I understand. Some people don't have very fond memories of places like this." She paused for a moment. "Don't apologize. I actually find your presence comforting. If I were alone, I'd be stuck in my head." She smiled softly.
"I assume you were visiting someone since you aren't staying."
Eden arches her eyebrows, watching her for a moment longer. "Overthinking?" she echoes "It's been a tough couple of days—-" maybe even more so for medical personnel. "I wouldn't fault you for not being fine," she had seen first hand how much death and injury had been left behind "I—- helped, before the last blast. I lacked the training but I saw a fraction of what you must deal with right now."
"No I'm just not too fond of hospitals," she admits "Don't have the best memories... is all," she shrugs a little. "Nice to meet you Delilah, I'm Eden and I apologize for interrupting your solitude."

She couldn't help but smile with him, his light-hearted joke making a giggle spill from her lips. "I'd be great at trivia. Just make sure I can study the topic beforehand. Easy win if you ask me." She answered, her eyes filling with amusement as they spoke. He was pretty funny, which Delilah found charming. "Dragons? That would be a new one for me, detective. But I guess anything's about possible in this city." She joked before he gave her his name, his cold hand slipping into her much cooler one.
Her hands felt a bit dry as she shook his hand as if she had washed them too much. "Very fitting for a man who slays dragons and helps damsels." She answered, pulling her hand away from his and stepping slightly closer. "So, Felix. Do you want to walk with me then? Maybe show me something exciting, hopefully. I'm getting a bit bored wandering alone." She grins slightly, tilting her head as she continues. "You wouldn't leave a Damsel to wander alone, would you?"
He saw her face change, that pause and the small falter of the smile. He knew that look. Bad memories. A few weeks ago even his boundless sense of humor had been checked by what had happened to his city. When she mentioned a photographic memory he smiled, letting them keep the conversation light but still acknowledging what had happened. "A photographic memory? I'll have to remember to have you on my trivia team."
When she called him Detective he smiled, he still had his badge around his neck. "I try to only give useful information." He nodded and took a sip of his overly sugared coffee, "It's a new initiative in the city. Damsel in distress assistance department. Slay dragons, give tours, the usual." He reached out and took her hand and shook it, "Felix. Or Detective Roy when I'm working."

Delilah nodded gently to Ana's words about trust, not expecting the child to hug her. She almost jumped out of her skin at the sudden touch, remaining frozen in her spot. Unable to move, images of Israel flashed through her head as the mental wounds were still fresh, replaying as fast as they happened. She held her breath but wrapped her hands around the boy gently. She let him go as soon as she felt him slip, her hands returning to cleaning his cut. She breathed out, a bit too loud, as she released the air she had held.
"Thanks...I needed that." She mumbled quietly as she finished cleaning his cut before standing up. She nodded to Ana, looking at Nam-Joon's mother for a moment. "I understand. I would appreciate the help, even if it is brief. Plus, I would like to do more for his forehead, even if they only have rubbing alcohol and some bandaids. The wound shouldn't get infected, but I'd like to take the precautions." She looks back to Ana as she continues. "I won't keep you after that, I promise."
Ana nods. "I get it. But right now, we both need to face the reality that we cannot achieve anything with a little bit of trust———if only for this one moment." Ana replies, feeling the fatigue in her body, but also refusing to succumb to it. Nam-Joon nods lightly to show that he had understood what the doctor had been saying. He gazes back at the shewolf, and she nods back to him, almost like a parent giving their child permission to move. And a second later, the boy hubs the elysian and thanks him. It's a quick hug, but still there nonetheless.
Then he bets back where he was to let the elysian take care of his forehead. Ana shakes her head. "I need to bring her somewhere safe to rest in peace until this is over first. But I can help you get there safely. I've been there before." Ana offers———this is her way of thanking the younger woman for her help. Truth is, after what had happened at the Crimson Library, the shewolf doesn't trust any place with a lot of people. "Maybe we can stop a moment so that you can patch his forehead. I'm sure they have some stuff over there. And a doctor to help will surely be welcome."

"I do hope your sister is okay...along with everyone else. But...I will say...I did see a lot of..." The brunette gulped slightly as she closed her eyes for a moment. "Bodies while out there...it was...horrible. All those people. I just hope...pray that those you care about are okay." Her words were genuine as she spoke softly, not wanting others to hear the terror in her voice. Deep in her gut, she regretted coming to this city, feeling sick at the things she had to witness. She opened her eyes when he told her to relax, shaking her head as she blinked some stray tears away.
"No, really, I'm fine, Vincent. You should relax...Besides, I'm a doctor. I need to stay on my guard in case something happens. You're hurt...just rest." She said gently, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves.
"You and most of the city. Personally, I'm more angry than scared since I know my sister and employees were at the Dominion before I shifted. And I'm sure I've lost friends or other companions, but I can't do anything about that other than survive."
Her trembling was easy to feel. "You don't have to be so ginger. Pain means I'm alive. You can relax and let me take a watch. Not like I can do much more."
