Kraven the Hunter/Sergei Kravinoff/The Spider : "I am the Spider. No -- not the Spider. I AM KRAVEN !! I have slain the Spider. Become him. I have hunted as the Spider hunts...consumed the Spider's prey. I have proven myself his superior in every way. No -- almost every way. The final proof comes --"
Comic Book Panels that lives rent-free in my head : Kraven the Hunter (calling himself "The Spider") impersonating Spider-Man (25 years before Dr. Octopus did the same when they switched bodies) while his nemesis is "dead" (buried alive instead), and eager to fight Vermin next (the final proof of his superiority in his tortured mind).
From 1987's Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man Vol.1 #131. Words by J.M. DeMatteis, art by Mike Zeck, inks by Bob McLeod, colors by Janet Jackson, lettered by Rick Parker and edited by Jim Salicrup.

BHOC: MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #51
The week brought another issue of MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE, this one featuring an assortment of special guest stars hanging out with Ben Grimm. Part of the reason for that is that this was one of those stories commissioned as an emergency fill-in that could be used in multiple places given the need. So it could have also been an issue of AVENGERS, but it wound up in TWO-IN-ONE. That’s a nice if generic…

This is a Doug Ramsey appreciation post for his very early adventures with the New Mutants
"Hey wake up, it's me your friend Sam, I'm a mutant, you're a mutant too, now can you help our team of teenagers to establish communications with an apparently hostile alien form?" – and that's how Doug learned about his powers...
Tumblr media
This time he helps saving the day by being able to communicate with Warlock and uncovering his intentions, helping the technarch alien who would become his best friend
Tumblr media
How vulnerable he was aware of being, but how this would not preclude him from helping his teammates the best way he could:

His mutant abilities are underrated because they're not battle oriented, he's capable of understanding every language in the universe, he can decipher codes and computer languages, understand hidden intentions and body language. (This is early Doug Ramsey, he's not even a member of an X-team yet, his powers would change and evolve a lot during the years)

He exemplifies how not every mutant will have fighting powers/skills, Forge is also an example of that (of the time), but Doug is even more interesting because his powers don't need to translate to a tangible object, it's purely intellectual, and it's fascinating to me
This has been a Doug Ramsey appreciation post

New Mutants #2 (Claremont/McLeod, Apr 1983). Still mastering their powers, the kids fend off a Sentinel attack at the mall. McLeod’s redesign of the mutant-hunting robots is more than a paint job — they’re more supple and formidable than ever.
