#Blue Dragon Crossover

A possible source of hilarity for Blue Dragon crossovers lies in the fact that I am convinced all the weather in the Blue Dragon world is artificial.

Now it is mostly likely an extremely complicated algorithm that for all intents and purposes mimics the randomness of natural weather but imagine if it's not. If the world of Blue Dragon has clockwork weather. If once you've learned the pattern of an area's weather over whatever time span it repeats, then that is how the weather always runs unless interfered with by outside forces.

Now then imagine a Shadow Wielder encountering natural weather. It's not so much the fact that they can't predict the weather which baffles them, but that the locals can't.

My brain 'the symbol of the Ancients!'

I mean, it's not an exact match but I saw it while scrolling the Turn Back the Pendulum tag after a week of on and off contemplation around how a crossover between Bleach and Blue Dragon might work, so I was primed for making the connection.

The Kido Corps deals with spells, the Ancients were notorious magic users. The Kido's Corp's symbol is basically a simplified version of the Ancients' Symbol. The connect is there. I'm just not sure what exactly the connection would be in this potential, unlikely to ever manifest crossover...maybe something along the lines of the Ancients having made such an impression as terrifying and advanced spellcasters that even thousands of years after their last contact with this world their symbol is still associated with powerful magic?

Rise of the Epic Big Brave Tangled Frozen Moana Dragons (RotEBBTFMD) logo.

Take this sketchadoodle of Fi and Astarion as dragonriders from the Dragonriders of Pern series. I have no idea how this crack crossover came to be but here we are lol. Just one of those 1am thoughts that couldn't get out of my head until I drew it.

For those who know the series: If we go by the original dragon ranking system (wiggle room for Fi being a she/they rider) of the books, I feel that Astarion suits a green very well while Fi would suit a blue. For the green, I feel her name would be Lestath because I am "clever" :B For the blue, I couldn't think of a name for him that suits Fi, so he is unnamed. If anyone has any ideas feel free to tell me! As long as it ends in "th", as that is what the series' naming conventions are. I love this series' worldbuilding and I have frequently in the past rp'd in various forums with my personal riders and their dragons, mostly semi-canon to non-canon. Where my Pern peeps at? #The ghosts that sealed pariah WERE called “the Ancients”

#perhaps dark was one of nene’s kind in life#and he was one of the ones who helped start the war#because he was greedy for more power?

This got me thinking, what if ghosts that others call 'Ancient' are not called such because they are old (oh, but they are, no Ancient ghost has formed for the last 10,000 years) but because they are 'Ancient' ghosts the same way that other ghosts are 'human' ghosts or 'animal' ghosts.

(Or funny alternate option: the ghosts who defeated Pariah Dark were not ghosts at all. They were living Ancients, Shadow Wielders vicious with their power, magic letting them face ghosts as easily as any other monster.

And extra weird option: the 'Ancients' were Mecha-Robots created by the Ancients specifically to fight ghosts. When Pariah Dark ventured to close to the Ancient's world, they responded.)

Pariah Dark's voice just gave me sudden Nene flashbacks.

"Their ghost AND humans. Is there no end to this day's surprises?" - Pariah Dark

"It’s any wonder they’re so audacious, they’re children." - Nene

Something about that particular tone of smug asshole I guess, cause I checked and they don't have the same voice actor. Or it could just be subconscious villain association.

Funny actually the things that Pariah Dark and Nene have in common when I think about it.

Yes, I'm a freak.

But those three dragons are just so perfect for this!!! 😭

I used this picture of a statue (?) of GoT's Daenerys with her baby dragons as a template (and the background, obviously) to change it into Seto Kaiba with his BEWDs.

This is still part of my exploring journey to work out the possibilities and chances of digital art.

Seto having three dragons just as Daenerys was just so fitting! I wanted to tackle that motive a little bit more directly and came up with this idea.

At first I considered drawing Seto in his trademark duelling-attire, since I needed something white and long to flow down to the floor as Danys gown does. But I thought it wouldn't fit well into the fantasy-middleage-style background. And seriously, guys! I still don't get the physique of that Kaiba-Coat!! 😂 There is no way I would be able to get that one right! It wouldn't be as appealing in a sitting position, would it? That thing is made to be worn standing, with a bad-ass gush of wind sending it flying! Sooooo, that's why I chose this white outfit. I think it fits into the scene pretty well, as it seems a little more prince-lilke... 😇

Drawing without outlines was all new for me. I wanted my drawing to look a tiny little bit more "realistic" (fail... ��) so it would fit into the background better.

As great as this was, I still kinda crave using my watercolors. Digital painting has so many practical and cool aspects, but there are downsides as well. (For example, the constant urge to make everything perfect, get tinyest details right and and redo things over and over again!) Hope that I'll be able to come back with traditional paintings soon... ☺️

P.S.: I am NEVER going to draw those dragons again! What a f****ing pain!! 😭

Also love the thought of Bull getting the whole "him BIG" treatment from the companions like how Halsin does, especially since Bull is taller and larger. Let's be real, there's no stopping the thirst at camp. I mean, I'm still not over the fact that he ripped the hatch off of Shadowheart's pod in-game. 😆
