After backlash and Russia targeting the Dershprom, the publisher Bloomsbury Books changed the cover of "Designing Russian Cinema" from the Derzhprom cover to this.
According to Nata Druhak, "The new cover depicts the shooting preparations of the film 'Ivan Grozny' in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The film was directed by Sergei Eisenstein, who was born in Riga, Latvia."
This is another example of institutions in the West facilitating Russian propaganda, that nations under the Soviet/Russian Imperial equates to being Russian.
Also, this is another example of propaganda not only existing in social media. It's in books.

Someone commented this under my post about the ACOTAR show being scrapped
Tumblr media
If only…….
If only we could ask the author what’s going on…
Tumblr media
I don’t care about the show tbh I’m happy it’s gone but what I want to talk about is how inaccessible SJM is. Like I get protecting your privacy but compare her approach to Rebbeca Yarros…..
I was watching Rebbeca Yarros’s press for Onyx Storm and the entire time I was like we are really in hell in this fandom. Like the Onyx Storm press tour looked so fun. She interacted with her fandom, answered questions, talked about her writing process and reasons she made certain decisions. Like it was fun!
And then there’s us 😭
No news. No author interactions. No communication.
SJM and Bloomsbury just go dark until two weeks before release when we get teasers and then it’s dark for two more years.
And then they have the nerve to sell subpar editions of the same books we’ve had for years. No creativity. No effort. Nothing.

The special editions of the ACOTAR series are in black because the ACOTAR series is at it's core Feyre and Rhys's story no matter how many other characters get a book and Rhys and Feyre are the Night Court. If Elain and Lucien get a book? The special edition books can still be in black because we would have never had their story had it not been for Feyre's journey to the Night Court. The books being black do not prove that Elain will end up in the NC because as we all know, there are more books to come and that means if E/riel was next, the book after would not follow NC characters because we still need to know what happens with Lucien, with Vassa, with Helion being Lucien's father, with Eris and the LoA. Characters associated with the Day Court, with the Autumn Court, with the human lands. Yet still part of the ACOTAR series overall. What, is Sarah going to print a special edition of that book in a completely different color because those characters are probably not going to end up living in the NC? The books are black because the central figureheads are from the Night Court but since the NC already has people in charge, there is nothing preventing Elain from leaving the NC while still retaining emotional ties to her family there.

Proving that articles written about ACOTAR or about SJM in general are NOT proof that a couple is endgame
Many fans saying that elriel is confirmed because some articles mention the possibility of the next book being theirs, or that "many fans suspect" and because these articles were thoroughly read and approved by Bloomsburry that means they are endgame.
Tumblr media
Well, this is definitely proof that Bloomsburry does NOT read carefully before approving or even POSTING these articles, when they literally posted an article that belittles the readers of SJM and romantasy in general.
For them, the important thing is to generate clicks and convert them into numbers, they don't even care about the content that is written.
Tumblr media
If that's not proof enough, here's a recently written article that cites Sarah as the author of the Elementals series.
Do you really think Bloomsburry would let such a grotesque error slide if they had actually read the article?
The conclusion we reached is: do not believe that something is confirmed through articles or speculation that does not come directly from official sources.

Forgetting about the ships for a moment, you know what I want in the next acotar books?
My man Koschei being a good villain and making everyone absolutely hysterical and miserable
GIVE ME A GOOD VILLAIN PLEASE
I think he has sooo much potential, this guy was first mentioned in ACOWAR with the fucking Bone Carver being scared of him, like 🤯
We know he keeps cursed women confined, that he has a black box that is very important to him, that he made a deal with Papa Archeron, that he still has influence across many territories even if he has been locked away for centuries (including the Night Court), that for some reason he turned Vassa into a firebird and that he pulled a big prank on Cassian and Azriel
I NEED HIM TO DO VILLAN THINGS AND SCARE EVERYONE !!
I know villains are not Sarah’s forte, but I have big hopes

Are there any books you’d recommend on Jerry Brown?
Jim Newton's 2020 biography, Man of Tomorrow: The Relentless Life of Jerry Brown (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) is excellent. I highly recommend it.
And Miriam Pawel, one of the best chroniclers of California's history and the state's most influential figures (her books on Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers movement are must reads), wrote a really good book a few years ago about the Brown political family: The Browns of California: The Family Dynasty that Transformed a State and Shaped a Nation (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO).

Even before Stanislaw Lem, E.M. Forster wrote in his 1909 novella “The Machine Stops” about iPads, email, and Zoom: one of the main characters, Vashti, speaks to her son Kuno, who lives on the other side of the world, via a glowing round plate she holds in her hand. After the conversation she catches up on the flood of electronic messages that have arrived in the meantime and then uses the plate to give a short lecture to a remote audience.
