Spring Birthday Cake

It's my besties birthday. They're turning 30 something. So I threw them a surprise sensory party.

It's thanks to this wonderful human that I found out I'm AuDHD, because they found out for themselves only recently and encouraged me to get tested.

Apparently it's not surprising that you're autistic if your bestie is autistic.

I thought about what kind of celebration they would really want. Not the social stuff. Not the having to dress up and drink till 2am. We don't do that (anymore).

And since my bestie is in a real exploratory phase as much as I am, I thought wouldn't it be cool to walk into a home made fort, with a table spread of all sorts of craft options and you can just GO FOR IT.

Colours, textures, sounds. You can make something, or just put your hands in it. The point is to sit and invite yourself to find out what brings you joy at that moment, without any need for purpose or productivity. Just to celebrate how it feels being you.

Imma do this for my 40th I think. Maybe I should just leave this shit up permanently till then.

-Planning ahead gives time for guest to prepare too

-Day passes for actives (museum, transportation, amusement parks)

-Low budget food that is really good to snack on (Sushi, cafes, tea shops, bars,

-Look hard for air bnb not hotels. Air bnbs are more comfortable and just a tad bit more expensive for more than 2 people.

-Go with different cakes with a appropriate amount of slices for guests such as heart cakes or smaller circle or rectangler cakes, KROGER AND WALMART IS AFFORDABLE and very good

-Pick plans that make you happy not just the guest.

-Funky and fun ideas like a fake self wedding ceremony for your birthday or an escape room. Bonfire beach party, costume party, photoshoot, pot luck, drive inn, destructive room rental.

So every year I choose a theme for my birthday party and for this year I'm planning on beeing The X-files, I'll be dressing as our dear Dana Scully and all, but I also want my friends to be involved on the theme even though they don't watch the show. So I really appreciate ideias and suggestions on that and things to put on the decoration as well.

Sad brain is sad today. Working 7 days a week, and feeling so many fucking feelings apparently does that to a person.

When my birthday rolls around in a couple weeks, I'm gonna blow an entire paycheck on myself. It would be better if I had a Gale to cuddle with too, but the whole "not a real person" thing kinda throws a wrench into that one lol.
