Mac often comes up as grumpy but think of him as the 'strict but caring uncle figure' of the team.

Victor Perkins, better known as Vector, used to work for Hollywood as a genius special effects designer for Lilith's autobiography movie but he was fired because his effects were 'too unrealistic' and was replaced by Reflecta. Enraged, he swore revenge, making him the first villain of the adventurers.

Thelma Al Ghul (Talia Al Ghul) (DC/Batman)

Daughter of Thaw Al Ghul, Thelma is a deadly assassin who's only goal is too kill one adventurer: E. Nigma, who has put her father behind bars after a case that involve an illegal drug smuggling operation.

Gentle Thief and Le Erosa (Gentle Criminal and La Brava) (My Hero Academia)

Gentle and La Erosa are partners, as Gentle commits crimes and La Erosa records and uploads them. The two seem to be friendly with each other and exchange their motivations. La Erosa also admires Gentle and his ideas, in return Gentle appreciates La Erosa's efforts in helping him become a notorious villain. La Erosa also has an extreme love interest in Gentle, a love interest that he seems to have with her as well.

Whistleblower Takes Aim at Galaxy Racer in Mass Email

In a mass email sent to GXR management, investors, employees, and media on Monday, a whistleblower lays out a litany of serious accusations against the company.

A email sent Monday to Dubai-based Galaxy Racer’s top executives—including CEO Paul Roy and Chief of Staff Walid Singer, media outlets, GXR employees, and North American investors (Billie Jean King Enterprises, Elysian Park, and R/GA Ventures) claims that the company is six weeks behind in paying staff in North America (which includes Galaxy Racer NA and Her Galaxy), and that employees have been forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Citing The Esports Advocate’s previous reporting on the situation with Her Galaxy and Galaxy Racer North America, the whistleblower further alleges that vendors in North America and content creators (under the GXR Elite label) have also not been paid for their work in months and that men are being prioritized over women when people do get paid.

A separate source pointed us to vendors in other regions such as Swipe Right PR and tournament organizer WePlay that are allegedly owed money for past work.

Further, the whistleblower claims in their email that popular YouTube star and influencer Noor Stars is owed $1M for brand deals going back to 2022, and that its top team Nigma Galaxy is owed $5M in back payments.

TEA has confirmed that the email’s author has intimate, insider knowledge of the inner workings of the company’s North American operations, and indicates in the email that they are part of a group of employees allegedly owed back pay. Further, they corroborate many of the things we have been told by other sources over the last several months in several regions including North America, India, and Europe. Sources with knowledge of the situation (who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation) have been telling TEA for months that content creators under the company’s GXR Elite content creator brand are owed thousands to tens of thousands of dollars in back payments that are delayed by months, with some claiming that payments are three to eight months behind.

Further, sources in India and North America from our previous reporting on Galaxy Racer (you can read that reporting here and here), have independently corroborated that the company is often multiple months behind on payments.

It should be noted that the investors who were sent the email are tied to Her Galaxy and its inclusion in the Trailblazer Venture Studio accelerator program, announced in September of 2022. The Trailblazer Venture Studio program is backed by Billie Jean King Enterprises, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Elysian Park Ventures, and R/GA Ventures. The initiative, according to its website, aims to do the following:

We partner with entrepreneurs and companies—from early-stage startups to later-stage businesses—that put women leaders, athletes, and fans first. Collaboration lies at the heart of this work. A source tells TEA that investors involved in this venture have been aware of the situation at Her Galaxy/Galaxy Racer NA, but have yet to intervene in any way, despite operating an initiative that is designed to empower and support women.

TEA reached out to Galaxy Racer, Billie Jean King Enterprises, Elysian Park Ventures, R/GA Ventures, Swipe Right PR, WePlay, Nigma Galaxy, and Noor Stars prior to the publication of this story.

A Galaxy Racer representative proposed having an off-the-record conversation with us earlier this week but we declined that offer; instead we afforded them an opportunity to respond on the record. The company did not provide any comment at the time of writing.

A Nigma Galaxy spokesperson told TEA on Wednesday morning via email:

“We can confirm that there are no lawsuits from Nigma Galaxy against GXR.”

Nigma Galaxy did not respond to a follow-up question on whether GXR owes the company $5M in back payments as alleged by the whistleblower.

Noor Stars, Swipe Right PR, WePlay, Billie Jean King Enterprises, Elysian Park Ventures, and R/GA Ventures did not respond to our requests for comment at the time of writing.

Earlier in the week, following the email being sent, Galaxy Racer categorically denied all of the accusations in the email in an emailed statement. TEA has included both the original email and the company’s follow-up statement below—in the interest of fairness:

Mass Email to Media, Investors, and GXR Management GXR UPDATE

I am writing this letter anonymously because once Galaxy Racer and Paul Roy stopped paying us on time, with delays of 6 weeks, they made us sign NDA’s to keep quiet on what really goes on in this workplace.

As of today we are 6 weeks behind on pay again. Everyone is paying their own health care with no reimbursement. Vendors haven’t been paid. Creators haven’t been paid.

They are targeting women laying off only 5 people all women and then silencing them with NDA’s. If you had not heard about this and employees again quietly coming forward here is the article.

They are also taking funds and giving special privilege to the men some months and paying them while the women have to wait.

As investors in Galaxy Racer, I am shocked that companies like you, Elysian Park, R/GA, and Billie Jean King would allow such treatment of women and men. Working overtime and weekends to put on a tournament when we were never being paid and were weeks behind in pay. Lies and lies of the money is coming, keep working. This is abuse in the United States. Please media these investors are copied on this email-tell me why are they doing nothing about this?

People on our teams are having babies and worried about pay and if their health care will ever be paid. This is the United States of America. This is not Dubai. I can not believe you have tried to silence us all, make us work and not pay us. There is no HR department as she is not paid either so she won’t respond to us. There has been no CEO since last year either she left to supposedly do something with the global team.

As of today we are once again owed 6 weeks of pay. Promises the money is coming but it never does. No signs of health care reimbursement yet they continue to publish news of their mergers, and signing new talent.

I also discovered that Noor Stars, their top influencer, is owed over $1million in brand campaigns that were never paid to her. They have of course silenced and ignored her.

I also discovered Nigma Galaxy, their top team, is suing them being owed over $5 million. I also discovered this is not just a problem in the USA, this is happening all over the world. In fact I have vendors in my linkedin from around the world saying Paul Roy owes them money.

None of this is made up or [from] a disgruntled employee. I am copying all of the people who work for GXRNA, investors, creators and the media contacts I have in hope that some humanity can be restored and everyone can be paid what they are owed as I am speaking to a class action lawsuit attorney.

“And this is the break room,” Aaron said, gesturing to the empty guard break room. “We’ve got a fridge, coffee maker, and a TV that gets basic cable, so we can watch the games on break.” The new guy, Billy Tester, nodded along, though Aaron noted he still seemed jumpy. He couldn’t blame him. After a class-action lawsuit last year, Arkham had been forced to disclose mortality rates for the guards. They’d had staffing issues ever since. “Any questions?”

“Yeah,” Tester gulped. “What kind of guns do we carry?”

“Semi-automatics,” Aaron answered. “We also carry tasers, billy clubs, and pepper spray. We hope we don’t have to use-” Aaron was cut off by the blaring of the Asylum alarm. “Aw, Hell.”

Tester paled. “Is that a drill? Please tell me that’s a drill.”

“No,” Aaron sighed. “One of the patients is out of their cell. Hold on, I got to check-in.” He pulled his walkie-talkie off of his belt clip and pressed the side button. “This is Aaron Cash. I’m in the break room. What’s going on?”

“Cash, it’s Bolton. Crane escaped from his session and disappeared somewhere in Intensive Treatment.”

Aaron shut his eyes and groaned. “Goddammit. Alright, I’m headin’ there now.” He put his walkie back on his belt and looked over his shoulder towards a shaking Tester. “Come on, let’s go. We’ve got a Scarecrow to find.”

“Scarecrow?” Tester squeaked. “Are we going to get guns?”

“No. We’re going to the utility closet. I need to get a broom.”

Ten minutes later, Aaron was walking down the corridor that led from Intensive Treatment to Arkham’s main transport center, carrying a broom in his left hand. “Cash,” Tester said behind him, shaking like a leaf. “Why do you have a broom?”

“You’ll see,” Aaron answered. He stopped when he heard a skittering noise just above him. His eyes narrowed. He swung the broom as hard as he could at the ceiling above him. A louder skittering noise ensued. “Son of a bitch is in the vents!”

“In the vents?” Tester asked, his eyes wide. “The patients can fit in the vents?”

“Crane can,” Aaron said. He followed the skittering noise to a grate. “Get over here and help me get this open!” Tester followed him and together, they pulled the grate loose. Cash reached his left arm in as far as it would go and made contact with a bony ankle. “Got ya! Get on out of there Spooky!” He pulled back hard, Tester pulling on his right arm, and within seconds, Crane came flying out of the vent.

“Unhand me!” the man said as soon as he hit the floor.

Aaron turned and his attention was drawn to Crane’s pants...or rather, his lack of them. “Jesus Christ!”

“Why is he half-naked?” Tester shrieked. 

“I don’t even want to know,” Aaron grumbled. He turned Crane around and pinned his arms behind his back. 

“My pants got snagged when I went into the vent and ripped. I was forced to abandon them, now release me!” Crane shouted again. “This is assault!”

“Me having to look at your boney ass is assault,” Aaron said, forcing him to his feet and forcing himself not to cringe at the sight of Crane’s...lower half. “Come on, Spooky, time for your walk of shame.”

Aaron marched Crane back down Intensive Treatment, ignoring the hoots and hollers of the other patients, the fact that Tester was looking down at his feet, and the exaggerated disgusted cries of the guards. Joker, upon seeing Crane, threw his head back and laughed. Nigma made a disgusted shudder. “Jesus, Jonathan, a little trim wouldn’t go amiss.”

“Shut your mouth Edward,” Crane snapped. “Not all of us are vain enough to spend our time shaving our ginger pubic hair into the shape of a question mark.”

Aaron wanted to throw up at the mental image. “That’s enough out of the both of you. You’ve embarrassed us all enough for one day, Crane.” 

Crane merely cackled. “Speak for yourself, Cash.” Aaron didn’t get paid enough to deal with this.

Behind the Voice Actors: Murfy

Welcome to installment 3 of behind the voice actors! this time we cover one of my favorite canon Rayman characters, Murfy!

(Author’s note before we get started: In the events we have pages like murfy here that feature voice actors i mentioned on other posts i will give you a directory to which installment that was, but i will still give you details on their roles. most of the time though it tends to be a copy/paste from that with a little editing. 

also i can’t for the life of me find any credited actors for ANY of the rayman 2 english dubs of murfy. so i can’t add the english section for this one. i can’t find ANYTHING!)

  Rayman 2 the great escape (French): Pierre-Alain De Garrigues 

The same gentleman who did the voice of globox, Sssam the snake, the spyglass pirate, and clark in the french version of Rayman 2 did the voice for murfy as well!

Another voice I featured over on my Post for Rayman’s voice actors for his job as the animated series version of our big nosed hero.

Billy West does my favorite version of murfy and is the same guy I use to this day for voice head canon and the personality I use for my rayman projects and such.

Billy West is one of the more recognizable voice actors. He’s done:

Ren Hoek and Stimpson J. Cat (Stimpy) in Ren and Stimpy

Elmer Fudd in the looney tunes show and Rabbits Run

He did Both Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in things like: Bah Humduck a Looney tunes christmas, Looney Tunes Stranger than Fiction, bugs bunny lost in time video game, and the original space jam movie.

Woody Woodpecker from “from the earth to the moon” and would voice both Woody and Wally Walrus in the New woody Woodpecker show

Doug Funnie, Roger Klotz, and Coach Spitz from the original Doug tv show. the original one only. He stated himself that he had nothing to do with the remake they did.

Rayman Origins and Legends: Douglas Rand

When Rayman origins launched, he’s now the current voice actor for rayman...and pretty much every single character from that point. 

Douglas Rand has done voice acting for Dragonball media English dubbing but it’s depending on the version of the dubs. Such as 

Yamcha and Tien Shinhan from Tree of might

Trunks, Yamcha, Andriod 17 and Vegeta from the history of trunks;

Vegeta and Mr. Popo from the return of cooler

Broly and Future trunks from broly the legendary super saiyan 

and many other roles within that franchise.

inside rayman specifically, he’s done many roles 

(Some will be featured in future behind voice actor posts as well. so i will actually not feature those ones to prevent myself from sounding like a broken record)

The teensies and Barbara the barbarian within Legends

1940′s Batman Fan Cast

If you haven’t read Tom De Haven’s excellent novel It’s Superman you should definitely check it out. It’s a Superman origin story told in the 1930s, the decade of his creation, and lovingly crafted with intricate period detail. It got me thinking how interesting it would be to see Superhero movies get made in an earlier time, and what kind of actors and directors might work on them. So, for my own amusement I’m going to put together some cast lists for hypothetical Superhero movies made in the past, starting with 1941 and Batman.

Now to be fair a lot of these actors probably wouldn’t have been in the same films because of the studio system and most would not have been caught dead in a comic book film back in the 40s, but this is all hypothetical so why not. A lot of the characters I’ll put here also wouldn’t have existed in the 40’s, but Batman just doesn’t feel right without some of these guys and some of the actors of the period feel perfect for these characters so here we go.

The Wayne Household

Batman/Bruce Wayne: Henry Fonda

This was sort of the inspiration for this whole thing back when I was in high school and they showed us Grapes of Wrath. Fonda’s speech at the end felt very Bruce Wayne and I really think he could pull off both the playboy charm and the brooding necessary to play the character.

Alfred Pennyworth: Boris Karloff

As great as it would be to see Karloff play a villain and fight Batman, I think the tall, lankly slightly older Englishman would have been a great Alfred, bringing that sense of propriety and the hint of something tougher underneath.

GCPD and City Government

James Gordon: Humphrey Bogart

Okay, this one feels kind of obvious, but come on. The original film PI as Batman’s friend on the force. He’s not quite old enough to be Gordon, but they had old age makeup down in the 40s. All they’d have to do is age him up a little.

Detective Harvey Bullock: Wallace Ford

While he didn’t have quite the same build as Detective Bullock (though he was kinda stocky) Ford could play the streetwise, book dumb slovenly sidekick with a heroic streak. Just go watch The Mummy’s Hand where he plays essentially the precursor to John Hannah’s character in the Fraiser/Weiss Mummy movies.

Harvey Dent: Lon Chaney Jr.

Chaney actually would have been my second choice for Batman too, given that he’s big and burly and as the Wolf Man shows us can do charming playboy and brooding in equal measure, but I think that skill set would serve him just as well as Harvey Dent. Chaney could play both the charming, pre-scarred DA, and the monstrous Two Face and, as a regular Universal monster, he certainly would have been comfortable with the makeup work.

Villains

The Joker: Dwight Frye

Now certainly Conrad Veidt, who’s makeup in The Man Who Laughs originally inspired the look of the Joker is the obvious choice, but go watch the original Dracula and tell me Frye wouldn’t have been a great Joker. He could be giggly and funny and terrifying and switch on a dime in a single scene. Habitually typecast as cronies and bit villains, Frye never the less was a phenomenal actor and one of Universal’s best horror players.

Edward Nigma/The Riddler: Basil Rathbone

Riddle me this? What traits most embody the Riddler? Smug superiority and a manic obsessiveness (with maybe a hint of humanity). So who do you get? Sherlock Holmes and ther Son of Frankenstein himself, Basil Rathbone. Just picture him doing Sherlock Holmes crossed with one of his many villain roles, bam, Edward Nigma.

Dr. Harlene Quinzel/Harley Quinn: Carole Lombard

Okay, this one admittedly feels a little more morbid than the others as Lombard would die tragically in 1942. However, Lombard was one of the most respected and genuinely funny comedic actresses of the era, both on and off screen, perfect for playing the kooky, ultimately redeemable villain turned anti-hero.

Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Hedy Lamarr

Fine, I’m cheating a little bit because Hedy Lamarr actually has been purported to be the inspiration for Catwoman, but hey if it ain’t broke right?

Gotham City

Doctor Leslie Thompkins: Billie Burke

So, my original choice for Dr. Thompkins was going to be Margaret Hamilton, aka the Wicked Witch, who I had always read was actually a very kind woman and who I thought would perfect to play Thomas Wayne’s colleague and Bruce Wayne’s trusted confidante. Then I did some very simple googling and found out she was only two years older than Fonda. So I switched Witches. Billie Burke played Glinda the Good Witch, meaning that she could definitely have pulled off both kindly do gooder and “don’t F--- with my patients” strength. She is also a full twenty one years older than Fonda.

Barbara Gordon: Olivia de Haviland

Okay, be kind to me. The classic Robin Hood and Captain Blood are on my to-watch list, but from the clips I’ve seen I think de Haviland could pull of a pre-Batgirl Barbara Gordon who slowly comes to become a hero over the course of the movie.

Thomas and Martha Wayne: David Manners and Helen Chandler

They weren’t really making movies at this point, but I think it’d be fun to have John and Mina Harker from the original Universal Dracula playing Bruce Wayne’s parents in flashback.
