i love how alice oseman as an aroace person wrote a really cute queer romance story, managed to make it become insanely popular, and then wrote not one, but two asexual characters into it with their own unique stories. this really has been a great year for all aspec heartstopper fans

personal hc that hush can change his form at will, so each time he visits doc, he looks just slightly Off. but they cant really tell why. maybe its the lighting? well hush has definitely grown an inch or two since they met him, but maybe thats not concerning enough for them to notice. however, the two differing eye colors are new- could just be contacts tho, right?

they couldnt really tell you (or care that much, doc is tired) why hush is different now. all they know is something seems... Strange.

Maybe it’s more-so me wishing my “human” instincts didn’t get in the way of things, but there’s so many things I WISH I had the instincts for. I’ve got hunger-related instincts, sure, but I want to feel more like me. I want to have territorial instincts. I know that fans commonly hc Vee as genderfluid or a demigirl, and I get why - I love that headcanon, too - but I'm also mildy amused by the alternative

that Vee, the shapeshifting basilisk from the Demon Realm who's free to assume any form she wants at any time, has no qualms whatsoever about being a girl all the time (she tried other forms once, on a whim; wasn't interested)

while her non-magical, completely human joyfriend Masha is the one who challenges your preconceived notions of gender on a daily basis

just makes for a very fun subversion of expectations on the whole "genderfluid shapeshifter" trope
