I strongly encourage you to unfollow and even block people who are constantly posting callouts and bewares for every little thing. YES there are shitty people out there. I'm not denying that. But it is also not safe to be around someone who is constantly digging through other people's social medias to find "bad things", especially when their idea of "bad things" is rooted in fear and misunderstanding, rather than an actual experience with said person.
For example I followed this person who would put people's FULL ACCOUNTS on blast and even dox them and say "BLOCK AND REPORT THIS PERSON because they're a CREEP and most likely a PEDOPHILE, R4PIST, ZOOPHILE, and POSSIBLE ABUSER!!!". Now naturally you want to believe someone when they say they are the victim of something. But that isn't what's happening here. This is a case of "Your kinkyness grossed me out and your sexuality is too vulgar for my tastes, so I will be attempting to put your life and privacy at risk". For this specific example, no evidence was provided to summarize why all of these extreme words were used, so out of curiosity I went to the account and... the person was just a trans woman posting furry porn and other nsft ramblings. That is not an offense. That is not abuse or pedophilia or zoophilia. Remind me again how it's "social justice" to keep calling openly sexual trans women predatory?
And I say block these kinds of people (the ones who feel the need to play "neighborhood watch" online) because chances are, eventually they will investigate YOUR business, and you might be found "guilty" of their personal morality crime.

A person can worship a goddess and still be a raging misogynist.
I see this all the fucking time, too, and the "b-but I'm pagan!" line does get trotted out.
Yeah, no. I don't care how devoted you (claim you) are to Hecate/Freya/Babalon etc, I care how you treat flesh-and-blood people.
You can't pretend that "worshiping a goddess" makes someone, by default, not a misogynist. I see guys who have a (weird) notion of "divine femininity;" a perfect nurturing caregiver of sorts. They then get irate when a woman won't take that role for them.
They expect a (very narrowly-defined) goddess, and when they don't get one, they get mad. I end up reading their rants online as a bystander. A lot of these guys will claim the woman has somehow betrayed them, isn't pagan enough, or is an evil supernatural being?! Vampire? It's sometimes something like that.
On another note? Many transphobes are also very loud about how they "worship goddesses." They're, of course, equally loud about their disrespect for women, though. There's some "trad pagan" types, too (or whatever they're now called) who believe in goddesses - but also believe that women belong in the kitchen.
So yeah. Don't assume someone's safe and not bigoted simply because they worship Demeter or whoever. Don't let them claim that their goddess patron absolves any shitty behavior. This is a thing that keeps popping up, and I think people should be mindful of it. Don't let people like the above act as if worshiping Minerva, Aphrodite, or Juno (or whoever) gives them a free pass to be a bigot.
Also? A whole fucking civilization can worship goddesses and still be a terrible place for women.
That doesn't mean that those pantheons are misogynistic. It also doesn't mean that those reconstructing the religions are misogynists. It means that it's possible to have systemic goddess worship and misogyny together.
Don't give me that "b-but in some very specific scenarios, rich women could even *gasps of joy* own property!" either. Don't act like the mere existence of priestesses meant women there held great power, or even that the priestesses themselves necessarily did.
You can't take that kind of thing to mean that your average woman had basic rights in some of these pagan societies. In some cases, that was the case, yeah, but it's hardly been the majority. From what I've read over the years, a lot of it depended on wealth and status.
Even in Ancient Athens (pre-Pericles), women weren't considered citizens, exactly. They could take part in some religious ceremonies, but not most. While they had some financial freedom, they were generally relegated to domestic roles.
Colette Hemingway from the Metropolitan Museum describes this as "extreme social restraint." It doesn't sound like I'd want to live in that kind of civilization, even if I had modern creature comforts. It's similar elsewhere in the ancient world. Not everywhere, but enough places. Don't pretend otherwise.
Much of our history has included misogyny. This isn't a new thing. It was part of paganism. It unfortunately still is. Pretending "we were all considered equal before the Christians came" is disingenuous. And yeah, I've heard people make that exact claim in pagan places.

DISCLAIMER - do not harass this individual, I don't condone harassment. Block and move on.
This is simply an educational post, nothing more. Kind of a call out to some stupid ass logic and analogy of this person's "intro" post, since they wanna share DNIs and shit on them so bad.
I personally have this person blocked, but through the power of blockage and accessibility on this site, I was able to retrieve what I remembered reading yesterday, to give my two cents.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
With the logic of "DNIs are pointless" first and foremost, is like saying internet safety is pointless. DNIs and making clear boundaries, even though not everyone listens, are critical and important, especially in this day in age. Rules, even though they aren't taken into consideration for a small fraction of people, are still required to keep things safe and secure. That's the whole point of them, and just because a small portion of society doesn't always follow the law, doesn't mean they shouldn't exist either. That entire logic is hypocritical and ridiculous.
"DNIs shift the onus of curating your internet experience onto other people, making your comfort other peoples' responsibility" is like saying making boundaries for your person is putting your safety into other people's hands, and thus shouldn't exist. Boundaries, whether online or in the physical world, are important. It helps to keep you safe. Using that logic, is like saying you shouldn't make boundaries for your person, and because they can't read your mind, shouldn't exist at all. We create safe spaces for ourselves online as a practice of internet safety, which should be taught more of.
"On that note, DNIs are very ineffectual on sites like Tumblr" once again, this is being based on a small fraction of people who actively choose not to respect other people's boundaries. They are effective, just like physical boundaries. Not everyone will respect you, but just because a small portion of people don't, doesn't make it okay to shit on the entire prospect of self protection. It creates a layer of mental security, making oneself feel safer when traversing the scary world of the internet. That's just fact.
"The definition of interact also changes between person to person" it's almost like everyone has a different perspective on the world. You're right, OP, not everyone sees things the same way. That's also the beauty of language, it has different meanings to different people. People are also allowed to block other people and weed out the ones who they deem don't belong on their blog, or their space. If that upsets you, OP, I believe we have bigger problems here than whether or not someone creates a safe space for themselves.
I also find it heinously hypocritical how OP says it's okay to block people, but not voice their boundaries in a place that should be more carefully tread on. Especially minors, who sometimes get wrapped up in situations that could put their mental health at risk.
All I have to say outside of all of this, is using your time to shit on primarily minors (as an adult) who use the DNI system to practice internet safety, says more about your arrogance than anything else.
