Makes Win Feel Wanted

So this is something that has bothered me since Between Us debuted. People online screaming “well, when is Team going to do something?” “The synopsis says that Team makes Win feel wanted, but we’ve never seen him do anything,” blah blah blah.

It’s Team. Team is what makes Win fell wanted. Not what Team “does” — Team existing as himself. There’s no magical moment or action, it’s Team being himself and allowing Win to care for him.

That’s it.

Win lack of feeling wanted prior to the beginning of the show is directed linked to his placement in his family. He’s not the eldest, meaning the expectations are less — sure — but he is also FIRST at nothing. Waan’s done all the good and all the bad before Win. He’s also not the youngest, he isn’t the perfect younger child who gets away from with stuff and who has limited expectations suffocating his every decision.

Win is in perpetual limbo. He’s going to help with the family business mostly because that’s what Waan is doing and so that Wiew doesn’t have to. Not because he’s wanted or needed.

Dean is Win’s best friend, no one can deny that. But Dean isn’t searching for Win — and Win is well aware that once Dean finds the person he’s endlessly waiting for Win becomes, at best, a third wheel. And at worst, forgotten.

So, no it isn’t an action that Team was supposed to do or a thing he was supposed yo say — it’s not him begging of crying — it is his existing and letting Win exist with and care for him.

So many people seem to have missed that entirely. Not everything has to be written or shown explicitly to be true.

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

Literally begging anyone who can vote in US elections to vote, and to vote against Trump. Which means voting for Harris, not abstaining or voting third party.

My family actually did move here from an authoritarian country, where voting literally didn't matter, they literally did throw out your vote, and they literally did assassinate citizens who spoke out against them.

We would all very much like to keep living in a country where those things are not the case!

You know, the same things that Trump and his stooges have openly said they want to do. And two of the main propaganda lines for why people in the US shouldn't vote, which is a lie.

Voting matters. The parties are not the same.

And make sure to vote in down-ballot races!!!

And like. The fact that voting matters in the US is a very real reason for hope. It is something you should genuinely appreciate. We can make a difference.

And a lot of people risked their lives or even died to earn that right, and it's a right not everyone has.

I fear that "fire bending didn't come easy to zuko" and "zuko isn't a prodigy" (both true) has somehow snowballed into "zuko is a bad or at best average fire bender".... which simply isn't true, especially by the end of book 3

i really like the idea of the winners of each season continuing to live (alone) in each world they won in..i know all of them except scar canonically die at the end but just imagine. Grian lives (alone) in the desert. Scott has the Scottage (alone). Pearl stays in her tower (she doesnt even have Tilly). Martyn has the whole Limlife server and roams around scavenging (he cant bring himself to go back to the Mean Gills base after what he did). Scar obviously lives at Trader Scar's and Cleo has a tiny janky world with the little village (at least she has villagers for company, they suppose. It's better than nothing.)

And now Joel lives in his car next to a burnt and crumbling barn, alone.
