“Hi, babygirl.” Your dad said, pulling you in for a tight hug, swinging back and forth in your driveway.
You had just gotten back from your six hour drive home from your university in Chicago. The past four years of your life were stowed away in your little white compact SUV. Your college career had flown by in a blur; it felt like just yesterday you were a mere freshman on campus without a clue in the world as to what you were doing with the rest of your life. Fast forward and you were moving back home to stay with your father as you began your new fully remote digital marketing job. You were lucky enough to land a full-time position with a digital marketing company after completing an internship with them the summer before your senior year of college. Eventually you saw yourself living in a big city like LA, but for the time being, you decided to move back home to your dad’s house to save up some money.
Besides, you hadn’t seen your father in months. He was a full time truck driver, so your schedules clashed terribly. Over your breaks at school, your dad was conveniently scheduled to do month long drives. You missed him terribly, so you moving back home was going to allow you to rebuild your relationship with your father.
“I’m so happy to see you. I’ve got your bedroom all clean and ready to go.” Your father said as you pulled away from your hug. His eyes were beaming with excitement. Growing up, you had always been extremely close. When your mother left him when you were just three years old, he took on the job of raising you as a single father. Eventually when you were old enough to be left home alone, he landed a job with a trucking company to deliver supplies across the country. The decision was tough because the last thing your dad wanted was to leave you for weeks at a time, but the salary was too good to pass up with you eventually wanting to attend a four year university. Your college education was extremely important to your father, so seeing his baby girl all grown up with a degree and a full-time job made him so proud.
“Great!” You said, looking back at your car. “I have so much shit to carry in. Mind giving me a hand?”
“I guess.” Your dad said, his tone laced with mock dread.
You and your dad spent the next hour and a half carrying all of your belongings to your bedroom. You hadn’t realized how much shit you had collected over the past few years. By the time you were finished, you were both exhausted. You both sat in the living room sofa, biting into delivery pizza and sipping on soda. You sat with your legs perched up on the sofa cushion, and you felt so homey and accomplished. You started your first day of work at the start of next week. You were incredibly nervous for your first day, but you decided to shift your focus on spending time with your dad.
“So,” he began, “you remember Joel, right?”
Of course you remembered Joel. Joel Miller moved into the house next door the summer you graduated high school. You’d see him occasionally that summer, typically when you’d go outside to sunbathe and he was working on various chores in his yard. You both lived in farmhouses on expansive land in the middle of the country. He spent his time doing yard work and various home renovations when he wasn’t doing contractor work for his clients. You’d spoken to him on various occasions when your dad would invite him over for cookouts or to watch football games. He was a rather reserved man, something in his past making him an abrasive person. Joel had never been rude to you, but he hadn’t been overly kind either. However, that was his normal to you.
“Of course.” You said, taking another bite of pizza. Your dad sat his plate down on the coffee table, then settled back down into his couch cushion.
“I decided since you’re going to be living here full time again that I’d hire Joel to renovate your bathroom. It’s so outdated and I’d rather you have a space that’s fully functioning for when I’m gone. Besides, I want your space to be the best it can be.” Your dad explained. You smiled at him setting your pizza crust back onto your plate.
“Aw, well thank you, Dad.” You beamed up at him, setting your plate next to his on the table. “So what will the renovations consist of? Will it be functional or is he ripping it out completely?”
“If he’s going to do it, I’d rather him start from scratch and build you the bathroom to your liking. I’ll have you two sit down and discuss what you want done so he can go shop from supplies and get an idea of what you want. He’s going to get started at the beginning of next week.” He explained further. “But— I leave for a work trip on Monday and I won’t be back for at least five weeks. I figured you two can handle it and Joel is my buddy, so I trust him.”
Your dad went on about how if you needed anything while he was gone with work, that Joel had offered to help you out. Whether that was if you had any issues with repairs in the house, errands, or simply just someone to confide in. It was summer, and the weather typically got bad in your area. Tornadoes and severe weather weren’t strangers in your region, and it made you and your dad feel safer that someone like Joel was on standby.
“Already, honey. I’m beat. I’ll see you in the morning, okay?” Your dad said, standing up from the couch. You stood up next to him and reached out for another hug.
“Goodnight, Dad. Thank you for helping me today. I’ll see you tomorrow.” You said, your dad squeezing you tight.
Your dad normally wasn’t an affectionate guy, so you knew he was ecstatic for you to be home. This warmed your heart.
Tumblr media
The next day, you spent most of the day unpacking most of your belongings. You started with your clothing, and ended with your toiletries and other essentials. When you were finished, you decided to throw on your bikini to go sunbathe in the backyard. It was a beautiful summer day, and you wanted nothing more than to relax and catch a tan before you spent most of your days inside on your computer. You slipped on your black bikini. It was simple, but it was flattering on your curves and showed off your patchwork tattoos. You threw on your black sunglasses, making sure to grab your headphones, then grabbed a towel from your bathroom. Your dad was right— it was very outdated and your shower and sink were showing signs of age. You were surprised both of them still functioned properly.
When you walked outside, you caught eye of your dad sitting across from someone on the patio. The figure sitting in the chair across from your father’s had ashy brown hair with streaks of gray running through it. He was wearing a washed out denim button up and a pair of dark washed jeans, acccompanied with a worn out pair of work boots. You quickly realized it was Joel.
Your dad’s head turned at the sound of you opening and closing the patio door. He immediately cracked and smile and waved at you.
“Hi sweetie.” He squinted at you, the midday sun bright against his bare eyes. Joel turned his head to to the side, locking eyes on you. He observed you with his dark brown eyes and a knit brow. He ran his calloused fingers over his salt and pepper beard as he took in the sight of you in just your skimpy bikini. Your dad introduced you as you walked towards them, you suddenly feeling insecure under his friend’s gaze. You hadn’t realized Joel was over, otherwise you wouldn’t have stepped out in minimal clothing.
“I’m sure you remember each other.” You dad continued, gesturing between the both if you. Joel nodded, his eyes baring into the dim lenses of your sunglasses.
“I do, you’re much more grown now than the last time I’d seen ya.” Joel said, his voice deep and gruff. Your stomach did a flip at his words. Why were you feeling this way?
Get a grip. You told yourself.
“Yeah.” You breathed out. “18 to 22 is a lifetime within itself.”
Joel nodded then looked back towards your father.
“I told her that you’ll be working on her bathroom for the next several weeks while I’m gone. She might run into a hiccup here and there where she might need to call you over for some help. Shouldn’t give ya too much trouble.” Your dad teased, his eyes dancing between the two of you. Joel nodded and took a sip out of the beer bottle in his hand then dropped it to rest on the arm of his chair.
“I won’t have any other gigs lined up while I’m working here. I should be around if you need me.” Joel spoke, his gaze finding yours once again. You sent him a gracious smile.
“Wonderful, thank you.” You replied. After a moment, you glanced down at your attire and cleared your throat. “I won’t keep you. I came out to get some sun before I’m stuck inside working next week.”
Joel’s eyes were still locked on you, his gaze flickering down your body and back up to eye level. Your skin felt on fire under his stare. There was something about how stern and rigorous his aura was that held your attention captive. The newfound attraction you were suddenly feeling for Joel had you puzzled and almost appalled at yourself. He was definitely a handsome man, but he was over twice you age and he was your father’s best friend. You internally scolded yourself. You weren’t sure why you were suddenly feeling this way towards Joel, but you knew you’d have to shun those thoughts away. It was preposterous.
“There’s a chance for storms next week, get that sun while you can.” Your dad said, your eyes moving from Joel to him. You frowned and adjusted the towel in your arms.
“Great.” You said sarcastically. “I’ll leave you guys to it.”
You sent them both a smile and your father waved you off. You ventured off the patio and onto the trimmed green grass of the backyard. You father and Joel’s properties were gorgeous. The expansive land overlooked a spacious field with a forest in the distance. Just before the unruly tall grass of the field was a large manmade pond with a dock that Joel had built the summer he moved in. The country was serene and beautiful. The only sounds were those of the wind whistling and the occasional airplane flying overhead.
You laid your large beach towel down on the grass. You put on your headphones and carefully laid down on your back. The sun already felt amazing on your skin. During the school year, you hadn’t had much free time to do little self care things like this. You knew the sun wasn’t great for your skin in the long run, but it wasn’t often you got to bask in the sunshine.
As you sunbathed, your dad and Joel engaged in random conversations. They discussed the weather, recent football news, the bathroom remodel, and various other things. Your dad did most of the talking while Joel tried his best to interpret what he was saying. Joel’s gaze was fixated on how perfect your breasts looked as you laid on your back taking in the sunshine. Your nipples were peeking through the thin fabric of your bikini top, not leaving much to his imagination. He adjusted in his chair. He felt his cock hardening inside of his jeans, and mentally he was punching himself. You were way too young for him. Not only was the age gap an issue, but you were his best friend’s daughter. Despite how morally distraught these feelings were making him, Joel couldn’t bring himself to take his eyes off of you. He’d avert his gaze to the pasture every so often so your father wouldn’t catch on, but every time he felt his attention reverting right back to your body.
“I hate that I won’t be here when you’re remodeling.” Your father said, rubbing the bottom of his beer bottle in circle on the wooden arm rest of his chair, observing the stains the condensation from the chilled glass left. “But I trust your judgment. And I trust her taste.”
“You know me. I’m a perfectionist.” Joel’s lips twisted into a half smile, lifting his beer to take another sip. Your father smiled back at him, chuckling and shaking his head.
“You’ll probably drive her crazy with how particular you are.” Your dad joked. It went quiet for a second, the both of them sitting in the peaceful quiet in thought.
“You know, I really thought she’d be engaged and off in some big city somewhere by now.” Your dad spoke, his head leaning back and him closing his eyes to feel the sun beating down on his skin. Joel swallowed hard, looking back towards you. You’d flipped on your stomach, your ass on perfect display for him. His cock twitched in his pants, and he quickly adjusted himself before your father reopened his eyes.
“Why’s that?” Joel responded.
“She’s always been such a romantic. Dunno where she got it from, sure as hell wasn’t me. After her mom left, I didn’t even try to date.” He began. “When she was teenager she was obsessed with romance films and novels. She was always crushing on someone.”
Your dad ran a hand through his graying hair and sighed.
“She got her heart broken pretty bad her senior year of high school. She was dating this asshole for two years and then he cheated on her. Since then, I don’t think she’s even tried to date. Makes me sad for her, but then again I guess it let her focus on her school work.” He explained. Joel felt a tightness in his chest at his words. He was almost jealous.
You were one of the most beautiful women Joel had ever laid eyes on. Not only were you pretty, but you were a kind, wise soul. In the times he’d been around you before you left for college, you acted beyond your years. You were intelligent and engaging to speak to. His infatuation with you had started when you were eighteen, but he had always shunned away his attraction for everyone’s sake.
Joel did know one thing for sure. He didn’t know how in the hell he was going to hide his feelings for you for the next several weeks.
Tumblr media
Monday came sooner than you had anticipated. You had said goodbye to your father the night before because you knew Monday was going to be chaotic with him loading up his luggage for his trip while you were making sure your setup was flawless for your first day of remote work. You’d spent the rest of the weekend rearranging you bedroom and workspace while also prioritizing spending time with your father. You were used to rarely seeing him while you were away at college, but it still pained you to see him leave for the next several weeks.
You began work at nine in the morning. You were a digital marketing assistant for a company within the entertainment industry, so your daily tasks consisted of editing social media content. As long as you got your tasks done for the day, you could take breaks and technically end your day whenever you wanted. By two in the afternoon you had already finished your first day of work, and you immediately felt a weight lifted off your shoulders. You were worried for no reason. You were more than qualified and you enjoyed your work.
You and Joel planned to sit down and discuss the plans for your bathroom remodel that evening, so you spent a majority of the rest of the afternoon researching renovation inspiration. You saved several pictures of showers, sinks, and layouts that you liked to show Joel. You were nervous to see Joel. You were normally very good with hiding your attraction for people, but something about Joel made you extra nervous. You were terrified you were going to act weird and make it painfully obvious. You sighed and stood up from your desk, deciding to take one last shower in your bathroom before it was out of service for the next couple months.
You grabbed your waterproof speaker and connected your phone to play some music as you showered. You decided to shuffle your classic rock playlist and turned the water as hot as it could go. One of your flaws was needing scorchingly hot shower water. You hummed along to “Beast of Burden” as you brushed through the tangles in your hair. Your thoughts began to run crazy as you disassociated while prepping for your shower. Your mind drifted off to Joel. You couldn’t help but wonder about his personal life. Was he seeing anyone? Has he ever been married? If so, what happened? Your thoughts were running wild as you stepped into the shower, the water almost being too hot to withstand, but it felt perfect on your skin.
The water ran off your skin, your hair soaking as you emulsified shampoo between your palms. A scenario began to play in your head. You imagined it were Joel’s large, coarse hands scrubbing the shampoo into your scalp. You closed your eyes and parted you lips as you imagined him towering over you from behind, his front touching your backside as he massaged the shampoo into your locks. The shea butter scent filled the steamy shower stall, the suds falling down the soft skin of your body. You felt a rush of arousal send a tingle down your abdomen into your core. You felt naughty having such disgusting thoughts about your dad’s best friend, but you hadn’t felt this aroused in months. You hadn’t had sex since your last high school relationship. You’d gone on a few dates in college, but none of them ever led to anything. The furthest you’d gone with anyone was a few steamy make outs at the club on the weekends when you got a little too drunk, but you never ended up taking anyone home.
You nipples began to harden under the flow of water from your shower head. Your eyes flickered up to inspect the shower head. It wasn’t detachable. You groaned in disappointment. You needed friction immediately. Your hand reached up to your breasts, softly toying with the supple flesh of your nipple. You ran gentle circles around the raised skin, pinching the mound between your fingertips. You exhaled deeply, your folds slowly begging to become coated in arousal. You squeezed your thighs together to try and relieve the discomfort. Your clit was throbbing at the crest of your folds. You slowly lowered your hand down your torso to your clitoral hood, lifting it up ever so softly to graze your sensitive bud. Your legs jolted at the sudden wash of pleasure in your lower abdomen. You carefully danced circles around the bundle of nerves. After teasing your clit for a moment, you lowered your fingers to swipe up your vulva, then teasing the soft skin around the opening of your vagina.
You inserted your index finger into your opening, curling it upwards to run over the rough skin of your g spot. You moaned softly as you began to pump your finger in and out of yourself. You added a second finger as your canal adjusted to the girth of your first finger. You couldn’t remember the last time you masturbated, so the intense pleasure was overcoming your senses exceptionally fast. You free hand moved downwards to press against the flesh of your pelvic bone, pushing your g spot further against your fingertips. You gasped as you felt the estranged feeling of your orgasm creeping up on you. The white heat of you climax was in the distance, and you moved your outer hand to run circles around your clit. The added pleasure of the clitoral stimulation sent you into pure euphoria. Your orgasm hit you suddenly, your pussy clenching around your fingers. Your eyes rolled back in your head as your climax hit you like a train, your legs losing their strength beneath you. You moaned audibly, your hand jutting out to stabilize yourself against the wall of your shower.
What you didn’t realize as you were pleasuring yourself in the shower was Joel had entered your house to meet with you about your bathroom. He’d figured you were finishing up your work day, so he took a seat on the sofa downstairs. He had texted you several minutes ago and you weren’t responding. He tapped his finger against his thigh, soon realizing he could hear the shower running upstairs. His mind drifted off to imagine how your naked body would look covered in suds and glistening from the water in the shower. He felt like a horny teenage boy. You had been infiltrating his thoughts like crazy since the day you sunbathed. Embarrassingly enough, Joel had jacked off two nights in a row over the sight of your tits and ass in that tiny bikini. He wanted nothing more than to explore your body without the obstruction of clothing. He felt vile and disgusting thinking so animalistically about you, but the infatuation was overcoming him.
Joel’s ears perked up when he heard your muffled moans coming from upstairs. His brows knitted together as he tried to decipher what he had just heard. You couldn’t be, could you? His suspicions were confirmed when he heard you moan again. He swallowed the lump forming in his throat and his mind began racing again. You were masturbating not even twenty feet away from him. He felt his pants begin to tighten, and he let out a breathy moan as he palmed himself over his jeans. He felt so dirty and desperate. He longed to bound up the stairs and join you, fucking you against the wall of your shower, your soapy breasts shoved up against the glass door. He tipped his head back and he squeezed his penis through his jeans, the tent struggling against the tight material. He could feel himself leaking into his boxers. In a quick decision, Joel pushed himself off the couch and made his way to the downstairs bathroom. He wasn’t sure how long you would take to finish your shower, but he knew he’d have to relieve himself to be able to have a normal conversation with you about this remodel.
Joel closed the bathroom door, locking it behind him. He wasted no time unbuttoning and unzipping his jeans, letting them fall to his ankles. He gripped the sink with his free hand, reaching into his boxers to pull out his throbbing cock. Just as he thought, his tip was leaky and sensitive. He ran his middle finger and thumb in a tight ring around the ridge between his mushroom tip and shaft, stroking it firmly. He breathily whimpered as he gripped the counter harder, his knuckles turning white. He began to pump himself up and down, picturing your breathtaking body in that god for saken bikini again. He imagined pushing you back onto your bed in that skimpy little suit, the ties around your hips loosened. He visualized untying the strings, slipping the material off to expose your perfect pussy to him. God, and your perky tits were enough to make his length twitch in his hand. He stroked himself faster, feeling himself getting closer to release. He replayed the sweet sound of your moan in his head, the small detail being enough for his release to jump in hot spurts against his hand. He moaned as he came hard, his abdominal muscles clenching as his climax overcame his senses.
Joel took a moment to catch his breath and come down from his high before grabbing a tissue to clean up his hand and tip. He exhaled deeply as he tucked his softened length back into his boxers. He wondered if you had finished as he washed his hands with citrus scented hand soap.
Tumblr media
You had come downstairs nearly an hour after Joel had finished. That orgasm was exactly what you needed to relax before facing Joel. Sure, you were consciously fighting the remorse after cumming on your fingers to the thought of your neighbor, but you weren’t nearly as nervous as you had been previously.
You’d gotten Joel’s text, and you internally cringed knowing that he was in the house while you were masturbating to the thought of him. You hurried down to greet him, finding him sitting on the sofa. You noticed his cheeks were more flushed than usual, but you assumed he had just been outside doing chores that day and had gotten a little too much sun.
“Hi, I’m so sorry to keep you waiting. I was in the shower and got carried away.” You apologized, sitting down adjacent to Joel. He glanced up at you with his big brown eyes, an emotion running through them that you couldn’t put a finger on.
“No worries.” Joel responded with his gruff voice. He cleared his throat. He seemed stiff, as though something was bothering him. You kept your suspicions to yourself and opened your laptop to show Joel the inspiration pictures you had saved.
“I have a few inspiration pictures for the bathroom.” You said softly, your finger dragging gently across the touchpad of your laptop to navigate to the file where you compiled several pictures of bathrooms you found online. You wouldn’t be very helpful with the actual construction of the bathroom, let alone the shopping for parts, but you had an aesthetic in mind. You turned your laptop so it would be easier for Joel to see, and scooted closer to him. Your thighs were inches apart, and Joel swallowed when he noticed he could feel the heat radiating off your bare thighs. You smelled lovely, like warm vanilla and cashmere. The smell was intoxicating and Joel longed to reach out and touch the soft skin of your leg, but he knew he couldn’t.
The first picture you showed Joel was of a bathroom with white and black checkered floors with forest green tile walls. Your favorite color had always been green, and you loved the retro feel of the checkered flooring. Joel was a very simple man when it came to designs, but he found himself loving the pictures you’d chosen. They were very much you. You swiped through the pictures, briefly explaining what you loved about each one. Joel observed each photo carefully, taking into account what stood out most to you.
“I love the gold and black accents.” Joel said at one of the pictures you showed him. You glanced up at him with a toothy grin.
“I was worried you’d hate it. But I’m so glad you agree.” You beamed, looking back towards your laptop. Seeing your smile made Joel feel warm inside. Something as simple as seeing you smile really made Joel realize the effect you had on him. His attraction was undeniable, but the realization of the situation sent a pang of disappointment through him. You were so young with so much life ahead of you. You’d never settle down for someone at his age. He couldn’t give you the typical life you deserved; he couldn’t bring you kids, and you were just starting your career. He was nearing the end of his. It would be selfish of him to ever try and hold you back from experiencing life. Joel tried his best to push away those dreadful thoughts for the time being and focus on the present. He enjoyed being around you, and he was going to make the most of it without letting his newfound feelings interfere.
“I’ll have to go to the store and scope out some materials. There’s a chance they won’t have everything we need in store and I might have to order online. If I end up ordering online, it won’t be a big deal considering I’ll have to tear out most of your bathroom first.” Joel explained. You listened attentively as he spoke, you gaze focusing on the way the lines in his face moved as he spoke. You could sit and listen to him speak for hours and not get bored.
“Do you mind if I go take a look at your bathroom and take some pictures?” He asked, leaning back to take his phone out of his front pocket. You swallowed hard as your eyes drifted to the crotch of his jeans, observing the protruding outline. You quickly looked back towards his face, but he had noticed. He decided to not address it, but he couldn’t help but feel the electricity strike through him. Maybe he was overthinking it; you were probably looking innocently to see what he was reaching for.
“Oh, yes of course. Help yourself.” You responded, closing your laptop and placing it on the coffee table in front of you. As you leaned forward, Joel’s gaze fell to watch the way your ass peeked out of the bottom of your shorts. He couldn’t help himself. He averted his eyes as you sat back up. He cursed at himself mentally when he felt his dick begin to harden in his boxers.
“Lead the way.” He said, pushing himself off the couch.
He followed you upstairs, his hand immediately falling to his crotch to adjust himself. The friction only made things worse. It didn’t help that he had a perfect view of your ass as you climbed the stairs. He could only hope you wouldn’t notice the tent in his pants once you got to the bathroom.
You lead him through your bedroom, apologizing quietly at the mess since you were still in the process of unpacking all of your belongings. Your room smelled heavenly. It smelled exactly like you and your delicious vanilla perfume. The smell itself made Joel feel weak. When you made it to the bathroom, you stepped aside to give him room to take pictures and observe what needed to be done. You took a moment to really take in his appearance. His shoulders were wide and his muscles were practically protruding through the short sleeves of his button up shirt. His jeans were tight against his muscular thighs, and even tighter against his crotch. You could’ve sworn the bulge in his pants was even larger than you’d observed downstairs, but you looked away quickly. You felt it deep in your core as you thought about the possibility of him being hard around you. You convinced yourself it was impossible.
Joel began snapping pictures of your bathroom, taking close ups of any details he found important. He opened the stall door to your shower, investigating the impurities in its design. It was definitely aged and needed repairs. It was a good thing he would need to rip out the shower entirely to remodel it to your desired design. This remodel would probably take him a couple months. He knew it would challenge his abilities, but it wasn’t anything impossible for him. He knew it was going to take extra time considering he wanted nothing but perfection for you.
“I’ll probably start tearing out the shower and sink tomorrow. I’ll need to go ahead and replace the toilet too. It’ll take me a few days to tear everything out.” Joel exhaled, taking a step back from the bathroom and peering down at you. “I’ll need to go to the store today and order some materials to make sure they’re here by next week. Would you like to come with me to pick out what you want?”
Your belly fluttered at the idea of running to the store with him. It would feel very domestic spending time with him outside of with your father and this remodel. Although it was still for the remodel, you would be able to spend time with him in public and get to know him better.
“Sure, I would love to.” You said, grinning up at him with your doe eyes.
You were close in proximity, and his musky aftershave was intoxicating. If the circumstances were different, you’d waste no time in pulling him into you and kissing him, but you couldn’t do that. You looked away to locate your purse.
“Do you want to go now? Maybe we can get something to eat on the way back?” You said, wandering over to your desk to grab your purse.
“That works.” Joel said, his voice deep and rich. He ran hand through his hair and put his phone in his pocket, replacing it with his keys in his hand.
Joel was nervous. Nervous to spend time with you outside of this project. You were wonderful and he wanted nothing more than to spend time with you, but he knew how dangerous that was for him. He feared the more time spent with you, the more he was going to become infatuated with you. But nonetheless, he led the way to his truck.

_____________________________________
Satoru Gojo - canonically, he knows a bit of English, but for easier communication purposes all of the jjk guys can speak English and Japanese..
- orders snacks from America to try out with you
- I don’t think he’d hate on America or Americans but when you’d mess up a mission or lose during sparing he’d pull a joking “Classic American.”
- devours twinkies when he first gets them then orders like 50 more boxes. Refuses to share his twinkies.
- tells you he’s gonna take a trip over there when he’s older and has more freedom and eat all the best food. New York styled pizza, those huge milkshakes with like a waffle on top, triple cheeseburgers, he’s gonna take pictures of him eating it all and then frame it for you. (Don’t even ask.)
Geto Suguru - he’s more interested in the culture, i personally think. He likes to learn the proper greetings, weird customs, differences between Japan and America.
- he baked a classic southern dish once in secret and liked it..
- hates when Americans are overly patriotic. He pulls this face.
- more drawn to the west coast
Shoko ieri - makes fun of your accent. Yes, Americans have accents. Never actually mad or annoyed at it, just pokes fun.
- honestly doesn’t care as much as geto or Gojo. Like yeah, there’s other people from other countries and cultures, she’d already known that?
- honestly doesn’t care lol.
____________________________________
Yuji itadori- oh he knows about America alright. His wife lives there! (Jenifer Lawrence duh)
- finds all of the city’s interesting, definitely wants to watch a New York fashion show
- attempts to do a southern accent (either fails or does it scarily good)
- asks questions about schooling over there, specifically the dress code.
- pulls up to you one day decked out in American flags, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat and asks if you feel at home on 4th of July. If you told him about 4th of July.
Megumi fushiguro - another one that genuinely doesn’t care. He’s just like “oh alright cool”
- doesn’t make fun of you for an accent or poke fun at you for being American. He js genuinely doesn’t care.
- will watch the US reality tv shows and finds all the drama stupidly amusing.
Nobara kugisaki - also very interested in all the cities and fashion
- watches Victoria secret fashion shows with you if you like that. Or just New York fashion shows in general.
- critiques American style
- pls take her to LA, NYC, or Chicago she’s begging atp
- if she visited any of the cities she’d dress to the nines just to walk around in the city streets.
Aoi todo - interested in all of your celebrities you have other there.
- ends up finding a new celebrity crush and watches all of the movies she’s in.
- gossiping to u abt celebrity drama that YOU didn’t even know about before him.

Hey Sam. If you're so inclined, could you recommend a few 'must eat' places in Downtown Chicago? My hotel will be near the Red Line (Grand station) and I'm fine walking a good 10 minutes for awesome food. I'm planning my trip and trying to put together a few food places for lunch and dinner and such. Pizza, burgers, bbq, donuts, steak, sushi..., I'm flexible!
You know, honestly, I don't eat out much anymore so I'm not sure where the best places to get a bite are. I'm going to make some recommendations but they're about to be a mixture of "If you come to Chicago this is somewhere everyone goes" and "This is somewhere Sam personally likes to eat but which you may not go for." :D
So, if you're at Grand, you are pretty much on top of the Weber Kettle Grill. Weber Kettle Grill does GREAT grill food and my parents always want to eat there when they come into town. If you ask to sit at the chef's table, you'll be seated at what looks like a bar, but it also looks all the way down the row of giant indoor grills the chefs use to cook the food. If you want something quieter and less busy they also have a fairly large dining room.
If you want a real Chicago experience, there's a Portillo's pretty close to you (that one's called "Portillo's & Barnelli's"); Portillo's is a local chain that does burgers, dogs, and crucially Italian Beef. Italian Beef is my go-to Chicago food for people who (like me) don't want to eat Deep Dish Pizza. It's a crusty roll filled with shredded braised beef; you can get it with sweet peppers, hot peppers, or no peppers (they might call it "giardinera" which is the local term for the pepper relish they use). If you get it "dipped", once the sandwich is made it's dunked in a flavorful jus before being wrapped up; if you don't like wet bread I'd skip this, but I love it. If you REALLY don't like wet bread, maybe get a Chicago Style hot dog instead. Portillo's is also famous for being The Place Where they make you a milkshake with an entire slice of chocolate cake in it. You can also just get a slice of cake, which is fantastic.
There's also an Al's Italian Beef near you if you want a more local experience. Locals absolutely can and will eat at Portillo's, the food's not better at Al's, it's just a bit more tourist-friendly than Al's tends to be.
If you want that true authentic Chicago deep dish experience (pie crust filled with cheese and then topped with sauce) Pizzeria Uno and Pizzeria Due are very close by; they vie for the dubious honor of having invented the deep dish pizza. I can't recommend it, but if you want it, hit one of those.
If you're not from the midwest and would like to sample a decent approximation of Detroit style deep dish (thick bready crust topped with cheese and then sauce) Jet's Pizza likely delivers to your hotel. I can't recommend going to a Jet's, many of them don't have anywhere to sit and eat, and for a pizza joint they're a bit costly, but it's very good pizza. My Detroit friends say it's a perfectly acceptable pie by their standards.
Volare Ristorante is a nearby hidden gem if you're in the mood for upscale Italian; I really like their pasta, but they are on the pricier end. If you're walking east on Grand to get there, you do have to go under Michigan, and you will likely fear that you will be stabbed and left for dead in this weird underground cavern, but I promise you, it's smelly but safe.
Goddess And The Baker and Beatrix are both good places to pick up breakfast. If you wish to glimpse Hell, the Starbucks Roastery at Michigan and Erie is one of the largest buxes in the country (possibly the world?) and is a FUCKING NIGHTMARE to navigate, but it's certainly an experience.
If you're venturing into the Loop, Russian Tea Time is a fun place to have afternoon tea and the a la carte food is also quite good; they're very close to the Art Institute. There's not much to eat if you're going to the museum campus, and my favorite Greek place closed down, but Minghin Cuisine is a good Chinese place (I've eaten there) and AO Hawaiian Hideout is supposedly some of the best Chinese in the city (I have not eaten there).
If you are craving Chinese, you can also catch the Red Line directly to the Chinatown stop and browse, I've never had a bad meal in Chinatown. When you get off the train, if you go north to the station exit with only stairs, you can exit, look left, and see the "new" Chinatown that's basically an outdoor mall; if you go south to the escalator exit, once you leave turn right and you'll see the big pagoda entrance to "old" Chinatown, which is more shops than restaurants. New Chinatown has some excellent bakeries, and also a Korean fried chicken place, Bonchon, that's extremely good. Usually when I take friends we go to Joy Yee which has a huge menu and also bubble tea.
As a final plug I'll list The Berghoff, which is in the loop (off the Jackson Red Line stop); it's pretty hefty German cuisine, all excellent food, and also is a top notch place to take anyone with gluten issues -- the owners have a kid with a gluten intolerance and the restaurant has an exceptional gluten-free menu with unusually strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination in the kitchen.
And if you want to get a little baked first, you are pretty close to Sunnyside dispensary, which is a very nice dispensary with super friendly people. If you take the Red Line to Roosevelt or are in the area, Grasshopper Club is less expensive, just as friendly, and Black-owned, and they've been my go-to for a couple of months now. At either one you can walk-in to speak to a budtender about what you'd like, or you can preorder online, but be aware that there are limitations on what out-of-staters can purchase. Having sampled most of the gummies out there, I'd recommend Mindy's (any flavor is good but the black cherry is my preferred). Do bring ID, you will be carded.
I hope you enjoy Chicago! If you have more questions feel free to hit me up here or at [email protected] if you'd like to have more of like, a dialogue :) Have fun and eat well!

Excited to see you’re coming to my city! We don’t get as many tourists as NYC/LA but I think we’re just as lovely :D
I’m guessing you already have the Field, Art Institute, and other museums on your list, but do you need/want recommendations for other things? I’m sure there’s plenty of other Chicago-based blogs around that would also love to give them ^^
I'm SO excited!! I think I have most of the "to- do" stuff planned as I am going to hit up many spots mentioned in the Dresden files series. This is going to include: Graceland Cemetery, the Field Museum, Saint Mary of the Angels Church, among a few others.
BUT I would LOVE some food and bar suggestions! Best breakfast spots, bakeries, pizza, turkish coffee, etc
I want to make some time for some smaller museums too, so please let me know which ones are worth checking out (Glessner House? The Chinese American Museum? The Chicago History Museum?)

Chapter 6
ᨒ↟ ⋆。° ᨒ↟ ⋆。° ᨒ↟ ⋆。°
☪︎ ִ ࣪𖤐 𐦍 ☾𖤓
Jacob drove them to a pizza place in Port Angeles. They walk in the restaurant and get seated in a booth. They order their drinks and a pepperoni pizza.
“So y/n how was your life back in Chicago” Jacob asked starting up a convo.
“I lived in a neighborhood just outside of the city. Even tho it would get loud I loved being able to walk around everywhere. My neighbors/closet friends, Diego and Amber, we would always walk to 711 or just around the city late at night. Once at a sleepover we got high and just spent hours roaming around the city. We got lost at some point but we ended up finding the best taco truck.” y/n explained.
“How ‘bout you? Tell me about La Push ” She said
“Well the rez is quiet unlike the city. Not much goes around just wolves here and there” he says with a small laugh
“Wait is there wolfs here??” she asked
“Um yea in a way” Jacob said with a nervous grin
“What do you mean?” Y/n asked
Jacob knew he wasn’t allowed to tell her, but something inside felt like he could trust her. He only knew y/n for not even 48 hours but he knew like she would be around forever .It wouldn’t be easy telling someone about humans turning into werewolves.
“Okay, the Quiluetes have some tribal stories where we are descents from Wolfs. We would shift to them when we would feel our enemies presence in our blood. Apparently our body temperature rises to unhumanly highs.” Jacob explained
They never said he couldn’t tell tribal “stories”
“Wow. Do you know anybody who shifted? Who are your enemies?” She asked him eagerly
“Y/n these are just myths. My dad he’s a council member, they share these stories when we have meetings. No harm just fun little stories.” He said
“Oh, that would be cool tho. Would you want to ‘wolf out’” y/n asked Jacob.
“Um yea it would be nice, but a down side is when you do your clothes are ripped off and you have to always have a pair of clothes hidden somewhere. Also there’s a thing called imprinting- ” but before he could explain what it was the server comes with their food.
“Here’s your pizza, is there anything else I can get you?” He asked y/n. He had mischief in his eyes, pink creeping up on his cheeks and a smirk plastered.
“Um no thanks…” Y/n said giving him a confused yet disgusted look
“Well my name is Will, holler if you need anything.” He said with a wink and walked away.
“Okay I may be young but I know hes trying get in your pants.” Jake said
“Jake! Obviously but I don’t know that’s so embarrassing…” she said
“Oh wait maybe if you flirt back you can get is a free desert!!!” He told her
“Omg should I try it?”
“Yes their lava cakes are soo good you gotta try them!”
“Alright later but let’s dig in.”
Jacob was somewhat relived he didn’t have to finishing explaining what imprinting was to her. It’s a beautiful thing but explaining it to a girl would feel a little awkward.
An hour passed and they successfully walked out with a free desert but unfortunately with a phone number. Y/n threw it in her cup holder and started her car.
“Alright it 4:12, wanna do something els?” Y/n asked Jacob
“Let’s go this bookstore. I’ll give you the directions.” Jacob said
“Okay let’s go, I’ve been meaning to visit the library but too lazy”
Jacob had a plan. He can’t tell her the truth but like they say the truth will always come out.
They soon arrived to the book store. They walked in and started browsing.
“I really wanna get looking for Alaska and Peace like a river” she said while she looks through the fiction section
Jacob goes on his own and looks through the Native American history’s section. He picks up a book about the Quileute history and picks up a random book to making sure his plan works out. After y/n finds her books they both check and leave.
Y/n dropped off Jacob home and she then stopped by the store on her way home. She picked up a few of her favorite snacks for tonights movie marathon. Once she got home she put her new books away did her nightly routine. She got into some comfortable pjs and picked a movie out her family’s DVD collection to finish off the day.

Could you tell me more about Chicago? I don't hear it romanticized as much as New York or LA but I've always wanted to go to complete the large U.S international cities tour
Sure! Here are some big hitters from a tourist perspective. (Disclaimer, this is gonna be basic because I'm writing it rapidfire, so please don't judge me fellow Chicagoans 😭🙏 and feel free to add!!):
GREAT food scene. It can't compare to New York or LA by volume but what's there is consistently excellent and isn't as overwhelming as those two.
America's best skyline. I'm being so serious. If you care about architecture you need to visit this city. If there's one touristy thing you do in Chicago, take the Architecture Tour on the river. It’s genuinely worth it even if you aren’t big into architecture!
Less important as a tourist, but genuine, unpretentious, friendly people. Most of my friends are transplants from other cities and it's near unanimous that Chicago is the friendliest/most sociable city they've lived in.
Our summers are PHENOMENAL. Constant events, free movies on the green at Grant Park most nights, festivals, and BEACHES. People don't realize we have beaches IN THE CITY!! Because we gatekeep it from outsiders!!! It won't compare to the ocean, of course, but it's such a nice thing to have access to in the summer! (and beautiful to walk on year-round, which leads me to my next point)...
Our lakefront is 99% public access, with a walkable path that winds up and down the entire city. You can walk the ENTIRE trail down the city without needing to detour. My second biggest recommendation is to rent a bike and bike as much of the lakefront trail as you can, especially in the summer. It's so lovely - city skyline on one side and blue on the other.
The birthplace of improv comedy and a major hub of jazz, blues, house, R&B, and hip-hop. If you see an improv show while you're here, there are lots of great options - Second City and iO are the biggest. Second City is the "original" of the originals, and if you see a show there, I recommend checking out green street farmer's market a couple blocks down and seeing a show before/after. It's in a really nice area. I'm not well versed in our music scene unfortunately!
Incredibly diverse neighborhoods with a lot to explore wherever you are in the city.
Northalsted/Boystown is the oldest offically recognized gay neighborhood in the US. Andersonville also has a really vibrant LGBTQIA community and is home to a LOT of wonderful local shops and food joints. It's a really good "walk around/explore" neighborhood. Actually, both of them are. (I don't know much about the nightlife unfortunately).
Bar scene - tons of really cool speakeasies and dive bars, some prohibition-era. Worth checking out if you drink.
Rooftops. Our city loves a good rooftop restaurant/bar. I'd recommend this over riverfront dining. We've got beautiful architecture, a lake, and a river to admire from them, and you can enjoy them even if you don't drink! Lots of really good happy hour deals abound.
Chicago-specific foods to try while you're here: Deep dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches
i am here and i am very cute and gorgeous.
Some photos to sell you! These are from google. My phone is dead and I'm too lazy to crawl through my camera roll but trust me it's jorjus

What food do y’all have in good ol’ ‘Mercia?
all of it
honestly though it depends on where you are. America is a big immigrant country, with people from all over the world bringing their authentic food with them. if you're in a big city with a big variety of people (Chicago, NYC, LA, etc), you can pretty much find ANY kind of cuisine possible. If youre touring around Chicago and suddenly think "MAN i could really go for some moi moi rn..." you're in luck! you can easily find a nigerian restaurant to meet your needs no problemo!
now if you're in a small, podunk one stoplight town, variety is a lot harder to find. You WILL almost always have Mexican food as an option though. Good mexican food too. made by actual mexicans. i've been to a lot of mexican restaurants here in America on account of it is my favorite and I've never encountered one owned or operated by non mexicans. other than like... fast food like taco bell and such. white people mexican restaurants don't last long because they have to compete with authentic deliciousness and that's just not possible (obviously this is just my personal experience and i have not been to EVERY town in america so i'm sure there are some exceptions)
Different parts of the country have different popular foods. In coastal states you'll find a lot of seafood, naturally. Maine is rollin in lobster (joke about lobster rolls), and you'll find several different types of BBQ, from Texas to Kansas City to Memphis to a backyard near you 🫵. Southern Soul Food is one of my faves, what with the jambalaya and the gumbo and the corn bread and mac and cheese and so on and so forth, deliciously 🤤 (i swear if i ever make it to New Orleans one of these days, i'm not going home without gaining at least 50lbs)
We have a big pizza culture here and you can find different pizza types all over the country. There's some debate about which pizza is the BEST pizza, mainly with Chicago deep dish and NYC style in a neverending battle of butting heads. (personally i'm just happy to get any pizza so i can't say who is better)
Then there's the stuff like Philly Cheese steak, the Reuben, pies (so many pies, but namely apple and pumpkin are the big ones), New England Clam Chowder, buckeyes, cheese curds, tex-mex, etc.
Diners are kinda the backbone of American eating, if you ask me, because you're destined to find diners everywhere. they're comforting, they're familiar, they have big menus, and they're within budget. Diners usually serve breakfast all day too, so you can swing in late in the evening (or even in the middle of the night) and order a big plate of chicken and waffles and a warm slice of apple pie à la mode any damn time you want!
I hear non americans are always baffled by biscuits and gravy, because it definitely doesn't LOOK appetizing but it's SO good. country gravy with a spicy sausage on fresh, flaky biscuits? Yall i'm gettin hungry just thinking about it. that was the meal i ate, hungover, after my 21st birthday, and i didn't regret a single bite mmMMm
i also hear that non americans don't eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but those are a big part of American culture, especially when you're a kid. aint nothin hit harder at lunchtime than takin a big ol bite of a gooey pb&j and chasin it with ice cold milk
Thanksgiving dinners are also iconically American food culture. gettin 20 of your family members together in one house, cookin a big ass turkey and serving it with a plethora of homestyle sides like stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, yams, mac and cheese, buttERNUT SQUASH, ACORN SQUASH, PUMPKIN PIE OH MAN OH MY i think i need to eat something before i gnaw through my arm
there's great native food too! frybread and succotash and what not. corn is a big thing for the indigenous people here and they popularized a lot of uses for it. I unfortunately haven't had a lot of it so i can't really speak on what's great and all, but if you just look up Native American food, you will see corn's influence lol
and OF COURSE we got the hamburgers and hot dogs. i know that fast food joints like mcdonalds have spread everywhere these days like a blight on the earth, but they're like... gas station burgers in comparison to the good stuff you can get. same with hotdogs. like i know that you can buy hotdogs from the store in a lot of places (for some reason in jars of liquid in the UK, i learned recently, which is..... fun) but they're not the same as getting a delicious hotdog with the works at a baseball game, you know? it's not the SAME. there's so much variety with what you can do with burgers and hotdogs! and Americans love to grill. it's pretty normal for households to have a grill they bust out every summer for backyard BBQs and cookouts.
anyway, i can't really tell you more about specific foods only in america because i genuinely don't know which foods here haven't either been brought over from somewhere else or have breached containment and gone off to other countries. i sometimes see restaurants in other countries have a "USA style" food and it seems to almost always be the most comically disgusting thing i've ever seen. (like pizza with fries and hot dogs as toppings lmaoooo)(ngl tho, i'd try it)
if anybody has some iconic American food to mention, feel free to do so! 👀

Catching A Ghost | Simon 'GHOST' Riley
Ghost x Reader
CHAPTER THIRTY ONE
Tumblr media
Simon 'GHOST' Riley x AFAB!Reader!OC 18+ MINORS DNI! t.w // angst, mental health, language, violence, death, sexual themes/SMUT, military inaccuracies, language inaccuracies (google translate).
Catching A Ghost: Masterlist
The excitement buzzing through you was similar to that of a child at Christmas.
Your best friend was back, with a fucking fiancée, and your team was together again. Ghost moved all of his things into your room the second you pushed the newcomers upstairs.
There was only one spare room, and of course it was Laswell's for the taking.
The newly engaged shouldn't be sleeping separate.
That was the excuse Ghost gave when he was running his belongings from his door to yours. Soap had scoffed, making a quip along the lines of 'Sure L.T., not like that's your girl's room or anything'.
Ghost silenced him quickly, but couldn't help the smile that crept onto his cheeks underneath the mask.
Soap was right.
He just wanted to be with you every second that he could. It's not like he was using the bed anymore anyway, he spent every night sneaking into your room and then sneaking out in the mornings.
Glances were stolen every time he entered, as you were in the room, helping Alex and Farah get settled in.
"Are you sure he doesn't mind?" she asked, gesturing to Ghost as he walked out, a pile of books in his arms.
You smiled, shaking your head, "It was his idea."
"So, I was right then?" Alex spoke, wriggling his brow at you.
"Right about what?"
"You and Ghost."
"It wasn't all sunshine and daisies, Al. It took a lot to get here, including him acting like I didn't exist for nearly three weeks."
Alex frowned; he had no idea things had been so difficult for you, and he felt the same guilt as the day he left you in Las Almas crawl back.
He remembers the anger when he found out Graves kidnapped you, he remembers the heartbreak when he heard you'd killed him for it, and he remembers wanting to slaughter everyone when he heard you tried to sacrifice yourself for the cause.
After all, you were his best friend, and he'd rather die than lose you.
"I'm sorry, angel. I wish I was there-"
You placed a hand on his arm, shushing him, "It's okay, Keller. I'd do it all again if I had to. It seems that Simon Riley was worth waiting for after all."
"Oh my god." Farah exclaimed, placing her hands on your face, "You're in love."
You blushed wildly, and the smile on your face was a dead give away. It caused her to squeal, losing her composure for a moment, wrapping her arms around you as she jumped up and down.
"Yeah," you breathed once she released you, "I guess I am."
"I'm glad you're happy now." Alex whispered, placing a soft kiss to your forehead.
"And I'm glad you pulled your head out of your arse enough to give this fine woman what she deserves." You spoke, swinging your arm over Farah's shoulder.
Alex rolled his eyes, but smiled, "Yeah yeah, whatever."
The rest of the day was a celebration.
Beautiful moment after beautiful moment.
Laswell had even allowed you to video call with Alejandro and Rudy, who both gave you a telling off for what you did in Chicago. You couldn't help but shed a few tears, both happy and sad as you missed them both too much.
By evening, everyone was hungry, and so pizzas were ordered and the alcohol started flowing.
The group was back together, and the happiness you were radiating had rubbed off on everyone else.
Ghost watched the room, leaning against the doorframe.
Only his balaclava donned his face, without the black eye paint this time. He smiled as he watched you interact with Soap and Gaz, the three of you in the middle of a pretty intense game of Black Jack.
It wasn't going well, given the fact the three of you were completely hammered.
"Drink, Simon?" Price said, two glasses of whiskey in hand.
"Nah, thanks, Captain."
"C'mon, we're celebrating. One won't kill ya."
Ghost tore his eyes from you to look at Price, "Need t'be at my best, sir."
"Why?"
"In case she needs me." he said, nodding in your direction.
At that moment, you'd looked over, face beaming as you saw your brother and your boyfriend chatting away.
"Might not be my place, Simon, 'cause she'll always need you. But right now, she needs ya to have a good time and enjoy yourself. God knows you deserve it."
With that, Price left Ghost, the other glass full of whiskey resting next to him.
He watched you as you smiled widely, Price wobbling as he tried to sit on the floor next to you, and you making a comment along the lines of him being too old for that shit.
Ghost looked back to the glass, pondering over his Captain's words for a moment. The sound of someone clearing their throat got his attention, and he looked up to find Laswell staring at him from the other side of the room.
She lifted her own glass, nodding to him, before knocking back the liquid.
He nodded back to her, lifting his mask to his nose, and downing the drink Price had left.
Bourbon, fuckin' perfect.
The liquid burned as it travelled down his throat, but the sensation warmed him. It thawed him all the way through, and before he knew it, he was allowing Soap to drunkenly drag him over to the coffee table and shove him down, Gaz dealing a fresh set of cards.
You looked at him through your lashes on the opposite side of the table, a soft smile gracing your face.
I love you. You mouthed after you threw back another shot.
He copied your actions after Soap shoved a glass in his face, mask still folded at his nose, I love you too.
"Oh please, John, you were going so hard the ceiling tiles were falling down!" you yelled, hands flailing, "Mum had to drag me out of the house for over an hour so you didn't traumatise me!"
You'd lost track of the time, but at this point, you'd drank so much (thanks to Soap constantly handing you shots) that you could barely walk on your own, let alone tell the time.
Right now, you were going around in circles, each telling stories of the worst sexual experiences you'd had.
Price had been telling of the time he brought his first girlfriend home. You were only 11 at the time, and had been late home from school because of parents' evening. Price had taken the opportunity of an empty house to finally lose his virginity, only for you to come home in the middle of it.
"That's not my fault, (Y/N)! You weren't supposed to be back yet!"
Laughter erupted, loud and boisterous, as Price's ears tinted red at the thought of his little sister hearing him have sex for the first time. The others thought it was brilliant.
"Right," Soap said, wiping his tears away, "My turn."
With a swig of his drink, he became animated with his story, which also involved parents interrupting the deed, only, it wasn't his parents.
"No you fucking didn't." you gasped, hand flying to your mouth.
"Yes, I did." he repeated, "so there I was, naked as the day my mam brought me into the world, and her dad busts the door down while I'm mid thrust-"
You continued to listen, laughing every now and then.
About an hour before, Ghost had finally let loose, and was around five drinks deep, hence why you ended up now situated in his lap, squished into the small armchair together.
His arms were locked around your waist, and he had discarded his mask long ago.
His nose nudged your head as he peppered tiny kisses onto your flesh.
"You okay?" you whispered, craning your head to face him.
"M'good." he mumbled.
"You drunk?" you giggled, hiccupping a little.
"Might be."
"I can tell." you giggled, sighing as you leant back into him, "you were right, you know."
"About wha'?" he said, nose rubbing on yours as his eyes fell closed.
On a good day, your scent made his mind fuzzy. But now, intoxicated, it made him completely drunk on you.
"You can't kill ghosts."
He squeezed you gently, placing a kiss to your cheek as you let out a content moan.
"You can catch them, though." you added.
His eyes blinked open, a smirk tracing his lips, "You can?"
"Well," you smiled, "I caught you, didn't I?"
"I guess ya did."
He let out an airy laugh, his hands moving to shift your thighs so you faced him a little more, and he placed his lips on yours.
The kiss was soft and slow, and it said everything either of you needed to say.
"And then I had to jump out the window in nothing but my wee socks!" Soap finished his story.
The room filled with the noise of laughter once again, Gaz laughing to the point no sound came out, and he was aimlessly slapping his leg. The commotion caused you and Ghost to pull away, but the two of you shared the same smile.
This was what home felt like.
You were sure of it.
Interrupting the laughter, Laswell's phone rang, and she excused herself. You watched her leave, concern filling you based on the look on her face.
"What do you think's goin' on?" Soap slurred.
"I don't know, but based on the look on her face, it's not good." you answered him.
"S'gonna be fine, boo." Ghost spoke, pulling you close.
"Yeah," Alex spoke up from next to you, placing a hand on your knee. "We're gonna be fine."
Laswell rushed back into the room with a sense of urgency, shoving her phone back into her pocket and fumbling for the remote.
"Kate?" Price said, confused.
"We got trouble, boys." she answered, switching on the television and flicking to the global news channel.
Everyone turned to view the television, the news covering footage of a hijacked passenger aircraft, that was rumoured to have taken off in Russia.
This was no doubt the work of Makarov.
You all watched in horror as streamed footage from inside the plane showed three armed men, shooting the pilot and co-pilot dead. You gasped as the shots rang, hand flying to your mouth. Ghost pressed his cheek to your shoulder in an attempt to comfort you.
The room was stunned to silence.
You straightened up from your position on Ghost's lap, his arms locked around your waist tightly.
"So what now?" you spoke, and all eyes landed on you.
Ghost stood, bringing you with him and setting you down on the ground. His unmasked face scanned the room, and the others followed suit, a similar expression on their faces.
He looked down at you, his hand raising to stroke your cheek lightly. You leaned into his touch, worry striking your features. Pulling you into his side, Ghost looked back up, addressing the room-
"We fight."
Nods and murmurs of agreement flowed from your comrades.
They were ready.
You were ready.
It was time to fight your way through this hell. It was time to fight for your team; for your home.
For your Ghost.
Because you didn't spend all that time catching one to let it slip away.
"You and me, yeah, Boo?" he whispered in your ear.
You looked up, taking his face in your hands. You could see the fear on his face. You could see the worry in his eyes that he could lose you in this, that he could lose anyone in this.
Pushing up on your tip toes, your lips met his. Soft, slow, movements calmed him, and his arms moved to rest on your waist, pressing his chest to yours. When you pulled back, you placed your forehead to his, whispering.
"You and me, Simon."
a|n: and that, is the end. thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart for reading. i can promise you, this isn't the end for our Ghost and Reaper; their story is not over. until then, stay tuned for the prequel...As Grim as the Reaper. love you all so much.

Your eyes in my life - Chapter 17
Tumblr media
Summary - The night of Kim’s final layover as a flight attendant ended with a one night stand with a stranger she met across a bar.
6 years later, that same stranger walked into the 21st District and was assigned as her new Rookie and her life was thrown upside down. She hadn’t seen Adam since that night in LA. But she saw his eyes every day. In the eyes of their daughter.
Chapters - 17/?
Chapter Summary - Adam goes to confront his father about stalking him and Annabelle at the park. AO3 Link
‘So you’ve got a kid then,’ Bob said, his voice cold and a hint of a smirk played on his lips.
‘And you thought the best way to find out the answer to that question was to stalk us at the park. She saw you by the way, and you terrified her. You could have called like a normal person,’ Adam said, trying to keep his anger under control but with the smirk still on his father’s face, he wanted nothing more than to wipe it off. ‘How did you know we were there anyway?’
‘One of my buddies said he saw you and that lady cop at the park the other day, a kid with you. I assumed you were just trying to get into her pants and the kid was just baggage,’ he laughed as he took a swig from the bottle. ‘But by the look of that kid, you’ve already been in them.’
Adam’s fists clenched. ‘Don’t talk about Kim like that. She’s twice the cop you could ever hope to be,’ he said through gritted teeth.
‘So you’re not denying that the kid is yours though,’ Bob asked, the accusation obvious in his tone.
‘Yes, she’s mine. You’re a grandfather, I’d say congratulations but considering how you’re never going to meet her,’ Adam snapped, ‘seems pointless doesn’t it’. It felt good anytime he got to stand up to his father, he had spent far too many years letting him walk all over him.
‘That any way to talk to your old man?’ Bob said, his steely eyes focused on Adam.
‘My old man,’ Adam laughed hollowly. ‘My old man who just scared my daughter. That’s exactly how I’m going to talk to you. Stay away from her. Stay away from Kim and stay away from me.’ He turned on his heel and started to walk back down the porch steps, he had nothing else to say.
‘Don’t come crying to me when they decide they want nothing to do with you,’ Bob yelled after him.
‘They won’t, because unlike you, I put in the effort. I put them first and I always will.’ He spat back over his shoulder, the anger bubbling through him. ‘They’re my family.’ And with that he continued towards his Jeep, ignoring the shouts from Bob behind him. He breathed deeply when he finally made it to the car, opening the door and noticed his hand was shaking.
He pulled out his phone to send a text, trying to steady his hand as he did so.
Adam Ruzek - He won’t bother us again. I’ll be over in 30. I’m bringing pizza.
Kim Burgess - Okay, drive safe.
He smiled as he tucked his phone away again. It was time to return to his family.
——————————————————————————
The pizza place that Annabelle had proudly declared was her favourite was only 5 minutes from Kim’s place and he knew it wouldn’t take long to collect a couple of pies and take them back, he just needed some time to stew first.
His hands were still shaking, clutched tightly to the wheel, the car parked up on a side street just a couple of blocks over from his father’s house. He didn’t want his daughter, or Kim, to see him so worked up. But this was how his father always made him feel; furious and uncomfortable in his own skin. He had meant everything he had said, he wanted nothing further to do with him and he wasn’t having him anywhere near Annabelle.
He had tried before to cut Bob out of his life, but they had always been half-hearted attempts and Adam knew the reason why. He was the only family he had left, at least that he had any contact with. He didn’t blame his sister for hightailing it out of Chicago and cutting ties with everyone. He envied her in a way, but he loved this city too much to ever say goodbye to it. And as much as Adam didn’t want his father in his life, the idea of being completely alone terrified him.
He wasn’t alone anymore though. He was a father himself, he had a kid. And he had Kim. Sure, it wasn’t the most straight forward of situations but there was one thing he knew for certain. They were his family and they were the most important people in his life now.
That thought comforted him. Family hadn’t always been the most comforting of thoughts for Adam, he’d had a far too complicated childhood for it to resonate with him in that way. But now it did. Now it was the promises of days out at the parks, pizza on the couch and more ice cream than anyone could eat. It was warm and it was home. Adam smiled as he shifted the car into drive, he wanted to get back to that now.
——————————————————————————
‘I come bearing pizza!’ Adam said cheerfully when Kim opened the door, her smile welcoming and her eyes soft.
‘Yay!’ Annabelle exclaimed from where she had been sitting on the couch. ‘Did you get my favourite?’
‘Of course, sausage for you and plain cheese for your boring Mom,’ Adam said, winking at Kim and proceeding into the kitchen.
‘I’m not boring,’ Kim said in mock offence, swatting Adam lightly on his shoulder.
‘Well cheese is a bit boring Mommy,’ Annabelle said thoughtfully as Adam laughed.
‘What the princess says goes I’m afraid,’ Adam smiled. This was family, he thought, everyone happy and smiling, the atmosphere warm and inviting. There was no undertone that if someone said the wrong thing or looked at the wrong person then it would all kick off.
‘Now if you ask nicely I’m sure your Mom will let you eat at the coffee table so you can carry on watching your movie,’ Adam said to Annabelle who turned to Kim, Kim nodding in response. ‘Mom and I will be over in a bit okay?’ Annabelle smiled and nodded her head excitedly.
‘I won’t make a mess,’ she promised and skipped over to take a seat on the floor, resting her pizza on the coffee table, her focus firmly back on the screen.
‘How did it go?’ Kim asked as soon as Annabelle was occupied. She reached out and put a comforting hand on Adam’s elbow, he tried to ignore the ease at which she touched him these days. He didn’t want to bring it up for fear it might stop if he mentioned anything and that was the last thing he wanted.
‘One of his buddies had said he saw us so he came to see if it was true,’ Adam said under his breath, his eyes darting over to check on his daughter as he spoke. ‘I told him he scared her and we wanted nothing to do with him. He was never going to get to know her and he was out of my life for good.’
‘Oh Adam I’m sorry,’ Kim said apologetically.
‘Don’t be,’ he smiled softly, ‘I should have done it years ago but he was the only family I had in the city so I tried to keep that link you know, so I wouldn’t be alone.’
‘Yeah I get it,’ Kim murmured, glancing over at Annabelle. ‘Well you have us now Adam, we’re your family.’
‘That’s what I said to him.’
‘Well it’s true,’ she smiled up at him, squeezing his arm lightly.
‘Thanks Kim. Oh I don’t think he’ll mention it to anyone at the station because if he admits that he knows about Annabelle and that she’s mine, he’ll have to admit he’s never so much as spoken to her or that he even knows her name. He didn’t even ask,’ Adam added the last sentence quietly as he realised - his father hadn’t even bothered to ask the name of his own grandchild. He shook his head, ‘I’m sure he’s still trying to make out to everyone that he’s father of the year and a grandchild he’s not allowed to talk to isn’t going to enhance that image.’ Adam laughed coldly. It had always been an act with Disco Bob, the outward image being far more important than the actual relationship he had with his kids. ‘But now it’s time for pizza,’ Adam said cheerily, choosing to focus on the family he had right in front of him, not the one he had cut ties with. They were the ones who mattered.

One of my partners and I were talking about this the other day but it is BAFFLING how Indianapolis can be in the top ten biggiest cities in America and it has barely any culture.
1) There are no big culture movements here. The closest thing we have is the drag scene starting its own Drag Theatre and I know some of the local indie rock/punk rock scenes used to be thriving.
2) No one hardly ever comes here, and if they do they go to the big venue in town. We rarely get cool music groups except for the occasional LA band that realizes they have fans in the Midwest.
3) We have two different Universities that have a surprisingly large influence in theatre and film world. But I've been doing film here for 4+ years and feel like I've hit the ceiling. There are alot of theatre opportunities here but it seems to be an allusive club to get into and alot of the really good techs and actors all eventually leave for New York or Chicago.
4) Like seriously theres nothing here. Chicago is Chicago. Louisville has street performers and Thunder. Madison, WI has its big Halloween night. My partner and I both went to Philadelphia years apart. I saw some renowned art work. He had one of the best vegan pizzas hes ever had and stumbled onto a music festival.....
.....Indianapolis has *checks notes* Steak and Jazz nights at whats essentially the bastard child of a Denny's and a gay bar.
