One time someone reblogged that “tumblr is the worst place for people with moral ocd” post because I called them an asshole for complaining about Palestinians in their inbox begging for help because apparently the asks sounded too “guilt-trippy”.

I met this nice girl through my college friend. She's my friend's childhood best friend and I had heard so much about her so I was really excited to finally meet her. The three of us hung out at a stupid school-sponsored event into the late hours of the night, drinking soda and eating pizza and getting to know each other. At the end of it, she entered into a raffle and ended up winning free tickets to Disneyland. We celebrated and parted ways. It was the highlight of that semester.
A few months later, Israel began dropping bombs on her family home. I watched from afar as her entire life fell apart and her family was displaced and killed. Every time I asked how she was doing, she was doing bad.
In Palestine, as in a lot of places in the world, it is shameful to ask for money. A little bit after the war began, I passed a message along to her family offering to help raise funds for their evacuation, but they declined saying that they didn't want pity from anyone. Now it seems like they're running out of options.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My friend has already lost so much so please spare her the additional indignity of asking for help and not receiving it. I can't imagine how soul crushing it would be to do something you believe to be shameful and for your effort to go to waste.
Their goal is only $5000 and they've already raised ~$820, I don't see why we can't raise the full amount within the next week.
Verified by the fact that this is literally my IRL. DM me if u wanna see her Instagram or other contact info proving she's real. Tumblr is a rather unsafe place for Palestinians so I'd rather not publicize all her personal info but I've been pretty careful with the fundraisers I boost on this blog so I hope you can trust me here.
EDIT 08/24/24:
Thank you all so much for your support. You have no idea what it means to me after so many months of witnessing zionist attacks both online and off, to see so many people come together and commit to helping someone I care about without a single zionist comment. There’s nothing but love here.
My friend reached her goal early this morning and I even saw people encouraging others to keep donating because they realized her family would need more. I am truly moved by this incredible show of compassion from everyone.
As you can imagine, life in Gaza is becoming increasingly more expensive. My friend has raised her goal to $10000 - let’s keep this train going and get her there within a week 🙏

From Clicks to Contributions: Harnessing the Power of Online Fundraising
Tumblr media
In today's digitally interconnected world, the landscape of philanthropy has undergone a profound transformation. With the rise of online fundraising platforms, individuals and organizations alike are discovering new avenues to amplify their impact and reach a global audience with their causes. From grassroots initiatives to large-scale campaigns, the internet has become a powerful tool for mobilizing support and driving positive change. In this guest post, we'll delve into the realm of online fundraising, exploring how these platforms are revolutionizing the way we give, and highlighting some of the best donation platforms available today.
One of the most remarkable aspects of online fundraising is its accessibility. With just a few clicks, individuals can support causes that resonate with them, no matter where they are in the world. This ease of access has led to a democratization of philanthropy, empowering anyone with an internet connection to make a difference. Whether it's supporting disaster relief efforts, funding medical treatments, or championing social justice causes, online fundraising platforms provide a platform for anyone to become a catalyst for change.
When it comes to choosing the best donation platforms, there are several factors to consider. From user-friendliness to fee structures, finding the right platform can make a significant difference in the success of your campaign. One of the key considerations is whether the platform offers a wide range of payment options, making it easy for donors to contribute in the way that suits them best. Additionally, transparency and security are paramount, ensuring that donors feel confident in the integrity of the platform and the organizations they support.
Among the plethora of online fundraising platforms available, some stand out as the best donation platforms for their user-friendly interfaces, robust features, and commitment to transparency. One such platform is [Insert Name], known for its intuitive design and comprehensive suite of tools for campaigners. With a focus on empowering individuals and organizations to create compelling fundraising campaigns, [Insert Name] has emerged as a leader in the online fundraising space. Another standout platform is [Insert Name], which boasts a global network of donors and a track record of successful campaigns across a diverse range of causes.
In addition to dedicated fundraising platforms, there are also free fundraising sites that cater to individuals and small organizations looking to raise funds without incurring hefty fees. These platforms often rely on voluntary donations or alternative revenue streams to support their operations, making them an attractive option for those operating on a tight budget. While they may lack some of the advanced features of paid platforms, free fundraising sites offer a viable alternative for grassroots initiatives and community-driven projects.
One of the most compelling aspects of online fundraising is its ability to leverage the power of social networks. Through platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, campaigners can amplify their message and reach a broader audience than ever before. By harnessing the viral nature of social media, individuals can mobilize friends, family, and even strangers to support their cause, turning a single click into a meaningful contribution. This interconnectedness has the potential to spark a ripple effect of generosity, as each donation inspires others to join the cause.
In conclusion, online fundraising platforms have revolutionized the way we give, transforming the act of donating from a physical transaction to a digital experience. From providing a platform for global advocacy to enabling grassroots initiatives, these platforms have democratized philanthropy and empowered individuals to make a tangible impact on the causes they care about. By choosing the best donation platforms and harnessing the power of social networks, anyone can become a catalyst for change, turning clicks into contributions and making a difference in the world.

No one's really surprised to see famous rockstar Eddie Munson show up to the 2024 Paris Olympics. His close friendship with three-time medalist gymnast Chrissy Cunningham had the press working over time when the pair were first spotted six years ago leaving a fundraising event.
However, no one can seem to figure out why- in Chrissy's down time- the metal head is frequently spotted at the men's swimming events. Everyone knows Munson's queer, but he's not the type to show up just to oggle some poor, unsuspecting athletes (he is, but the press don't need to know he's a bit of a freak).
Prime time news coverage chock it up to Eddie supporting the best of the USA's Olympians, including Steve Harrington, who just broke the world record for men's fastest 100m freestyle. They'd pointed out it wasn't odd he was there, since he also made appearances at other events with up and coming stars, such as Lucas Sinclair for men's basketball and Nancy Wheeler for women's skeet shooting. When asked about it, he'd laughed it off, saying swimming was Chrissy's favorite sport to watch and he promised he'd fill her in on what she missed.
That didn't stop fans online from obsessing over small details, including Eddie's repeat appearances at the swimming events, where he only showed once for anything else that wasn't Chrissy's competitions. There was no way he could keep Chrissy filled in on what she missed when he only showed up to meets Harrington competed in, not all men's swimming events.
Fan edits of Eddie Munson clapping a little too hard, screaming a little too loud, and overall just a little bit more excited for Harrington's podium than Chrissy's gold medal spread across the internet like wildfire. One blurry shot caught Harrington briefly look in his direction when he won his silver, but it was hard to be certain.
Tucked into bed after another long day of interviews, Eddie pulls up a few of the best fan edits Jeff and Gareth sent him earlier. It's become a bit of a habit over the past few weeks to watch his favorite ones before he goes to sleep. He feels the bed dip next to him, a warm hand slide over his chest and a leg push between his own.
"Aww babe," Steve coos, "did we get new ones today?"
Eddie leans down, dropping little kisses on his husband's forehead. "Apparently Jeff says these ones are even more convincing than last week's."
Steve hums a content little sigh before nuzzling into the crook of Eddie's neck. They've been riskier about public appearances this time around compared to Tokyo, but they've agreed to publicly come out after this year's games are over. So, why not have a little fun with it?
They release a fan edit of their own later that year posted on the official Corroded Coffin profile. It's a reaction video of them watching all of their favorite tiktoks and fanart and Tumblr posts. They laugh, point out inaccuracies, answer fan questions, and post a few pictures of their own, including the two of them standing under an arch of flowers exchanging rings.

Tumblr media
Hello, tumblr! I mentioned this in my stream last night with my friend and collaborator @lakemojave, but here is the official tumblr announcement: I've started a fundraiser to pay for GAS that I can't afford on my own.
I...try my best to appear pretty unflappable on this site, because my online persona relies on that. But about two years ago I was harassed by TE/RFs and no matter how much I tried to forget or get over it, there was a comment that a 17 year old made towards my appearance the has probably been the most devastating thing I've ever felt, and ever since that insult I've grown steadily and steadily more disgusted and anxious about my appearance--specifically my hair.
As an AMAB trans person, I'm of course going to experience male-pattern baldness. Even in cisgender men, more than 75% of them experience some form of heightened anxiety and dysphoria due to hair loss or fear of it. I don't know how those numbers change when talking about trans people, but I can't imagine it's not even higher.
In the interest of full transparency at the cost of, frankly, my pride: I have reached the point in my dysphoria where I am growing to be borderline suicidal. I've struggled with suicidal ideation since I was a young teenager, but this is the first time in over a decade that I've reached a level where I am terrified what will happen when it gets worse.
And so with all that said, I've started a fundraiser on PayPal to try and raise money for my gender-affirming care. Y'all might remember me from the Great Soy Sauce Conspiracy of late December of last year, and maybe also how I stopped working on the project due to mental health reasons. I remember how kind all of you were when I was struggling with living newly on my own trying to afford food and things like convection plates, and it's my hope that I could rely on you all to help me again.
With that said, I've made the decision that if I am able to fulfill this fundraiser's cost...I'm going to pick back up The Mysterious Appearance of Miss Appleton and finally finish it once and for all...in video essay format, because that feels most appropriate to me. I think I'm going to be ready for it this time.
If you've read this far, thank you so much. If you need it, though:
TLDR: I need to get myself gender-affirming surgery because i'm getting real close to suicidal over my dysphoria. I've made a fundraiser for it. If the fundraiser is successful, I'm going to finally finish the video essay for The Mysterious Appearance Of Miss Appleton. Thank you for your time and your help.

help feed a family in gaza!
Tumblr media
hi everyone, i'd like to introduce a friend in gaza that i've been in contact with.
shimaa (also spelled shaima) is a 22 year old graphic designer who recently graduated from university. unfortunately, her hopes to continue her studies and get a master's degree were interrupted by the genocide.
she's been looking after her family, including her injured mother and sick nephew, in very difficult conditions without sufficient water or necessities. her mother was recently shot and needs money to pay for treatment to get the bullet out of her leg. just today, the occupation bombed a house so close to them that the shockwave blew away their tent and belongings.
while shimaa's evacuation fund is important, her family also needs basic necessities until the fundraiser is complete, such as food, water, medicine, and hygiene products to prevent further sickness and disease. the situation is very dire, and getting money to shimaa in a timely manner is a matter of life and death.
money raised through the fundraiser can take months to arrive. however, direct transfers to her bank account can reach her in just a few days.
if you can spare the effort, please contact shimaa on twitter to learn the best way to donate to her.
you can also contact her on whatsapp and speak to her directly at +970567114032 !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
remember, if you send me proof of your donation, you can receive free art from me!
a little tip: although a lot of online money transfer services don't support transfers directly to palestine, if you call your bank's help line, chances are they will be able to manually do an international wire transfer for you
for those who want to donate but don't have the energy to figure out a wire transfer through their bank, send me a message, and i'd be happy to forward the money to shimaa on your behalf.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WITH GENEROUS HEARTS!

The Top Crowdfunding Sites for Startups and Small Businesses
With so many sites to choose from, how can a small business owner decide which crowdfunding site is right for their business? Well, it can be difficult to know exactly what to expect when launching your campaign on any given crowdfunding site. Each site has its own unique set of features and services available to its users. To make things more confusing, not all of the sites listed below are necessarily better than the others. To help you understand what each site is about and its strengths, we’ve compiled a list of the top crowdfunding websites for startups and small businesses. Read on to learn more about these platforms and see if they might be a good fit for your business.
Kickstarter
Kickstarter, created in 2011, is one of the oldest and most well-known crowdfunding websites. Users can create a crowdfunding campaign for almost any project, and the vast majority of campaigns reach their goal. The website has many unique features, including a funding calculator that allows you to determine how much to offer and a “ton” tool that lets you gauge the amount of materials needed to manufacturing. There are also many special incentives and rewards that can be offered during a campaign, including the opportunity to be featured on the website’s homepage and the chance to attend a meet-and-greet event with the project creators.
Indiegogo
Indiegogo is one of the newer crowdfunding websites, having been created in 2012. Unlike Kickstarter and Kickstarter-like websites, however, Indiegogo’s focus is on crowdfunding legit, profit-making projects. Although it does have a lot of similarities to Kickstarter, Indiegogo also has some unique features, including an appeals process that allows backers to appeal decisions by the project organizers and a tracking tool that lets you see how much of your money has been spent on your campaign. Also, unlike Kickstarter, Indiegogo’s rules state that backers can request a refund if the project fails, but that doesn’t mean that backers can’t support Indiegogo projects!
GoFundMe
Go Fund Me is one of the newer crowdfunding websites, but it’s quickly becoming one of the top choices for entrepreneurs. It’s easy to use, offers great incentives, and has a large community of users who have used it to raise funds for lots of different causes. If you have an idea that you think people might be interested in, you can create a Go Fund Me account and start fundraising in seconds. There are lots of great deals and incentives offered by Go Fund Me, including the ability to set a goal amount and a deadline for when the funds must be spent. There are also many special campaigns ongoing, including a Go Fund Me for Every Cancer symptom campaign and a Go Fund Me for Hurricane Harvey victims.
Crowdfunding Heaven
Crowdfunding Heaven is one of the more unique crowdfunding websites on the list. It’s more like a social shopping platform for crowdfunding, where you can find and buy products to raise money for all sorts of different campaigns. You can either search for existing campaigns or create your own and list products that you’d like to give away or sell. It’s a really interesting way to support your favorite causes, and you can always find new products as the campaign goes on.
SoFi
SoFi is another unique option on our list. At its core, SoFi is a lending platform for startups and small businesses. Businesses borrow funds from SoFi to get them started and then can repay the loan with interest. There are lots of great incentives and rewards available to borrowers, including access to the SoFi Capital series of online courses and a free trial to Tower Records.
Refundme
Refundme is another unique crowdfunding website. It’s more like a shopping website for crowdfunding, where you list products that you’d like to send to backers and put a refund policy in place. You can either set a dollar amount for the products or offer them for free if the campaign fails.
Shareyataa.com
Shareyataa.com is a United States-based crowdfunding website with offices in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It’s unique in that it lets you fund projects in a number of different categories, including consumer goods, equipment, software, and projects related to your niche. For example, you could create a crowdfunding campaign to launch a smartphone app and share the benefits that would come with it, including free calls and free texts.
Tithe.org
Tithe.org is another unique crowdfunding website, with a focus on helping churches and charities raise money. It works a little differently from the other sites on this list, though — instead of sending payments during a campaign to the project creators, Tithe.org’s backers can choose to send the project a gift. For example, a campaign to build a new church could offer to build the new church and furnish it for the community in exchange for a gift.
Conclusion
There are lots of best crowdfunding sites out there, and it can be hard to know which one to use for your campaign. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, which includes the best crowdfunding websites for startups and small businesses. With so many options, it can be difficult to know which crowdfunding site is right for your business. The best crowdfunding websites for startups and small businesses let you create a crowdfunding campaign that is tailored to your specific project. Whether you’re looking for a one-off project or an ongoing business, these top crowdfunding websites will help you get started fundraising. With so many crowdfunding websites to choose from, it can be difficult to know which one to use for your campaign. The best crowdfunding websites will help you reach your funding goal, and you can choose a site that best suits your project.

TW PET ILLNESS.HELP ME RAISE $827.DON'T IGNORE PLEASE COME THROUGH AND SAVE MY CAT
This is my mom's 14-year-old cat "Sleepy" (and my daughter's best friend) My mom passed away on her birthday in 2021 from stage 5 cancer. I could tell you a million stories about how much this furbaby means to us and how much of a blessing she has been to our lives... but that's not as important as getting her help right now.
Tumblr media
Just before Christmas my daughter was cuddling her and noticed a discharge was leaking from her nipples. I reached out to a friend who is knowledgeable about everything feline. She recommended we give her a warm shower and clean the area with soapy water and take a picture to send her. The picture made our hearts sink. Sleepy has always had a soft underbelly that droops a little when on all fours. We certainly never noticed anything before. The day after we took the picture she ulcerated (seen in the other pictures) I had sterile wound care supplies from when I took care of my mom, and my friend recommended a product sold at petsmart called silverhoney. I have been applying that and changing out her dressing every day. But it's not healing. I even tried to put a very small amount of triple antibiotic cream around (not on) the ulcerations but I'm not comfortable doing that again as there is too much negative information online about using it on cats. (despite what vets have recommended in the past) because of the infection its spread into her lungs. She's struggling to breathe and with antibiotics she only has days left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I work a fulltime and a part time job just to keep a roof over our heads. I'm poorer now than when I was on SSI. If I could have afforded to take her to the vet when the first picture was taken, I would have! I feel absolutely horrible about not having any kind of savings for emergencies. I don't even make enough to save... I don't want her to get sepsis or gangrene or develop abcesses or watch her slowly die over an infection that needs antibiotics. I have a suspicion not a diagnosis, and I don't even have enough money to put her down if what's going on isn't treatable. I absolutely hate asking for help when I work this hard at 2 jobs with nothing to show for it but covering the basics. But I'm not asking for me, I'm asking for her. She needs to be seen. Any financial help is so so needed and greatly appreciated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a PayPal. The estimate reflects the only vet in our tricity area that will take donations over the phone but they require the money upfront. I applied for care credit and was denied.
Tumblr media
I didn't set up a gofundme as they take too much money out, and the payments take too long to come through. She needs to be seen asap.
RAISED $515
BALANCE $312
KINDLY COMETHROUGH FOR OUR CAT (P*PAL FUNDRAISER DONATION LINK)
I don't know what else to do. My heart is breaking. She's all I have left of my mom. She's my daughters best friend. God Bless anyone that can help. 🙏

IMPORTANT update on mohammed's campaign!
mohammed almanasra @save-mohamed-family has unfortunately been having issues with fundraising. his first campaign was shut down by the bank and GFM without him getting any of the money he raised. recently he had some concerns about the person hosting his second campaign because he has only been receiving a small percentage of the funds raised and the host wouldn’t send receipts. he thought it'd be best if we started a new campaign with me hosting it and shut down the old campaign. i'll be organizing this now so hopefully there will be no problems and i can be transparent with him about the finances. also in a stronger currency (USD)
mohammed has been verified by @el-shab-hussein and is on the Vetted Gaza Fundraiser List #192 with this updated link now
you may have seen my other posts about his campaign, mohammed and i talk frequently and its so awful what he's been through in this genocide:
mohammed lost his mother, father, and four sisters who were killed in a bombing, and is now living in tents with his remaining family members, his wife and three young children. he was seriously injured in his foot and it may need to be amputated, but he told me that hes doesn't care if he loses his foot he just doesn't want to lose his family. his wife has uterine cancer but hasn't been able to get treatment recently because the genocidal israeli army has destroyed health centers. his children are suffering from infectious diseases spreading throughout gaza, and the little medical treatment available is very expensive. here’s a photo of his kids who instead of having a normal childhood have to struggle to survive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they've been displaced recently again, because of the israeli army changing the location of so called 'humanitarian zones,' and every displacement is expensive and exhausting, with no guarantee that where they are forced to move to is actually safe. right now mohammed told me he doesn't have good enough internet to use tumblr unless he goes to a internet hot spot which are often more dangerous because the idf targets people there. he knows it's risky but fundraising online is the only way he can support his family right now.
mohammed has made posts on his blog about their situation and i do encourage you to read his own words, because i am merely summarizing conditions that are far worse than any of us from outside can really comprehend
the pain of losing so many family members, your home, your job, your city, and everything you have is already unimaginable. please dont let him lose any more of his family. donate to this campaign and if you cant, share it with someone who can.
especially if you have a degree of disposable income i implore you to think about what you can reasonably give. it could be relatively small adjustment for you but make a significant difference for someone else. thank you very much everyone who participated already for starting this out with some donations.
$205 raised of $50,000 USD

Siraj's campaign is stagnating!! At $25,435 CAD and with the collection of only $280 CAD in 10 hours we are far behind the schedule if we want to collect 30k within this week!
Siraj does not have time. Yes, it is true that he is not evacuating but you do realize that, this puts him in more of a danger right?? Anything can happen to him at any moment! In fact let this be a reminder that he can only get online after travelling 3km everyday to reach an Internet point, where he can access a hotspot connection in exchange of exorbitant amount of money.
His daily route puts him in the way of scrutiny of occupation forces. And Siraj has said that there already have been shellings and death on that route.
This fundraiser has been set up, so that Siraj can start rebuilding his home. This is his dream, and in Gaza where we all know that there is no safety, the peace of a steady campaign is all Siraj has!
Once again I remind you that being in Gaza is dangerous! Gazans cannot afford endless time. Anyone can be targeted at any moment. Every second during which a campaign stagnates, it pushes the end goal farther away and anything can happen in this the time!! What use an unfinished campaign will be for Siraj, if something happens to him? Who will fulfill his promise to his family?
Siraj's son is currently sick. He cannot campaign like he has been for past however many months. Everyday is a struggle for Siraj- everyday life in Gaza is becoming more and more expensive due to an engineered scarcity! Everyday Siraj tries his best to race against time to collect the funds that would help him rebuild.
Siraj does not want to leave Gaza. He wants to survive and rebuild! Please do not let this campaign stagnate anymore than it already has!!
If it is incentive you want, then I can tell you there are 2 art commissions going on for Siraj.
1. @sheplaysbassdotmp3 is doing art commissions for every $10 CAD donated to Siraj. Any character/ship sketches of your choice- barring nsfw. Please check out her pinned for more details.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you are into music, then she also has her beautiful drawings of artists like Chappell Roan!
Tumblr media
2. @imjustheretotrytohelp also has opened art commissions for Siraj. You will get half body sketches if you donate $15 and bust sketches for $9. Characters, OC, fanarts- barring nsfw. Check out her pin for more details, about the commissions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of these artists are trying their best to help! Please do your part too. Boost and Donate! There has been very very little donations as compared to the posts going around for Siraj. This cannot happen!! We need to reach 30k by this week!!

Updates on Rewaa and @mohamedmoner1994's gofundme:
I'm very grateful for everyone who continues sharing my posts for Rewaa and Youssef when I can't be online here on tumblr because of work, but I'm so sorry to report that the notes have not at all been translating into actual donations. Rewaa's fundraiser was at £10,810 when I last posted, and now 10 days later it's only gotten to £11,027. Only £217 added in so many days, and I set the goal of 11k 10 days ago.
I feel so bad that I can't devote more time into properly promoting their fundraisers here, but I'm currently swamped with work as I've recently just started in my new job. I'm trying my best to allot some time to sit down and send out messages directly to people because that seems to be the most effective way I am able to help them get donations.
I would really be so grateful to anyone who can help me boost Rewaa's and @yousefmoner's fundraisers more regularly because their campaigns just will not pick up steam despite having been fundraising for almost 6 months now (Rewaa's campaign was created March 25, Youssef's April 14).
Please know that your donations are so very vital to them right now, not just for their evacuation plan, but for their everyday expenses as well. Layla posted an update on gfm that she sent Mohamed and the family £400 so that they can buy food to eat. Rewaa in particular is suffering from her lack of appetite due to her cancer and malnutrition because of the poor quality of the food they are able to get:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On top of that, the continuous bombing, shelling, and shooting from aircrafts, which Mohamed recently reported were close to were they are currently staying:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rewaa and Mohamed's fundraiser is included in the vetted Gazan fundraisers list by Hussein and Nairuz (line 70, #66). As of this post, they are currently at £11,027 / £45,000. Please help me get them to the next £1,000 by donating what you can today:
I know I have not been able to help out much in reblogging and boosting other gofundmes and I really am very sorry for that. I will try my best to share the posts you tag me in and put them on my queue so that they're in constant rotation.
I hope you don't mind me still tagging you here and asking for your help to share this gfm 🙏 I need all the help I can get because Rewaa, Mohamed, Yousef and the rest of their family don't deserve to be left behind and forgotten just because I can't promote them better here 😭

The world’s largest population of blind people lives in India. Over 8 million people, to be exact. The majority of them lack access to even the most basic medical facilities because they reside in the nation’s most underdeveloped regions. But did you know that if they had received prompt treatment, nearly half of them might not have become blind? Sightsavers India realises the importance of eye health and thus through its programmes ensures availability of affordable, quality eye health services in rural districts, urban slums, government schools and to the underprivileged community.
