AU where a few years after Obi-Wan gives Luke to the Lars', Quinlan finds him and says "join the hidden path Obi, please see" and Obi-Wan tells him "bro I can't leave, Luke is here, but I'll still help however I can" so Quinlan leaves and comes back a few weeks later with a force sensitive baby. And Obi-Wan just stands there holding the baby thinking 'what the fuck do I do with this thing????' and he does what any rational person would do and gives it to the Lars' cuz that way Luke can have some siblings. This happens a few more times.

Another thing I find really refreshing and cool about Descendants(specifically the first one) is that there is no third act betrayal/misunderstanding/blow up between the main characters.

The VKs are all loyal to each other to the end, even once their motives have all changed and theyre no longer happy with the plan they stick together and follow Mal's lead.

Ben realizes hes been love potioned and finds it endearing and goes along with it even when the affects have worn off

Like the first descendants movie is practically allergic to the third act betrayal/misunderstanding despite CONSTANTLY setting up for one

Holy shit.

The scene when Sam (Ben Whishaw) grabs his boyfriend Michael (Omari Douglas) to get him safely out of the apartment while shooting their way out through a bunch of goons...

How he gently tells him not to look and to close his eyes. To hold on and just follow him. All will be good...

The moment when Michael does open his eyes, scared to death but holding on tight to his lover. He looks aside to the sky and follows that flock of birds while somber music is playing and shots are fired at the same time...

Sigh. One of the most intense things I've seen for some time. Almost poetic.

Black Doves really is a weirdly good mix, all the script flaws aside. I love it.

Proves that good characters played by great actors don't need an equally good script and story to make a good show or movie.

Make it emotional. Make me root, laugh and cry for the characters. It will make up for all the rest. I will love it. Sometimes it's just as easy as that.
