I genuinely think the idea that if you should draw a little every day or you'll suffer skill degradation is a total fabrication. Some of the best art I've ever drawn has been coming back from long breaks. I'm talking like weeks. Sometimes you just gotta reset and flush the systems. There's no shame in it. Take breaks. The art will be there for you when you're ready.
#also!#art is observation#no matter what youre always observing always learning about the world#and that will affect your art#if you havent drawn since you were 5 and decide to draw again when youre 40 then your new drawing will be better than the old one#because youve seen the world and know how things work and look#art is a skill that takes practice#but sometimes you need a break to let that practice settle in#i have so many things to say about this (not all on topic) but i will stop it here lest i write a whole book in the tags lmao

Watching Star Wars was a mistake. My mom found my old PC where my digital art journey began and I spent like 5 hours trying to hack into it (for like 1 of those hours I thought for sure i had completely reset the whole computer)
Managed to log in after it restarted by using the password I had tried using 9378329 times :)
Anyways, my first mspaint drawing on that computer :)
