Name: Lia Belleville
Story: Found Tonight
Face claim: Ciara Bravo
Love Interest: possible Jess Mariano
Name: Lili Gilmore
Story: Guts
Face claim: Sophia Bush
Love Interest: Tristan Dugray; endgame TBD
Lili Gilmore was just like her sister. That’s what she’d been told since she was old enough to understand that her mother didn’t mean it as a compliment. No, to Emily Gilmore there were few insults more biting than comparing her two daughters. Rebellious, bored, and too clever for her own good, Lili Gilmore was everything that a Hartford heiress shouldn’t be. Rebellious, bored, clever, and, now, expelled from Chilton. With no other private school willing to take her, and not quite desperate enough to send her to boarding school, Emily and Richard only have one choice for what to do with their younger problem child – exactly what Lorelai did when she was Lili’s age, in fact. Send her to Stars Hollow. Lili isn’t particularly bothered by going to public school, she’d never cared for her academics either way. Aside from less time to spend with her boyfriend, Lili is sure that a small town public school can’t be worse than the suffocating halls of Chilton. Only there’s no escaping the Gilmore name, and in this particular small town, every single person she meets knows her effortlessly charming older sister and picture perfect niece. And every single person is watching to see how she measures up.
Name: Livi Ruiz
Story: You’re In The Band
Face claim: Madison Reyes
Love Interest: Esme Gerard
Name: Lorrie Gilmore-Danes
Story: Hey December
Face claim: Mackenzie Foy
Family is complicated; such is the fate of the Lorelai Gilmores, and Lorrie is no different. She knows that her parents’ relationship has always been complicated — it was complicated before she was born, it was complicated when she was born, and it has been complicated for her entire life. She knows that her mom has never had an easy relationship with her parents, and her dad’s parents both died before she was born. Her mom is an only child; her dad’s sister managed to join a vegetable cult. She has two older half-sisters and an older cousin who’s more of a brother, an entire town who helped raise her, parents who always try to put their daughter first, and has never questioned her place in the world. Family is complicated, but Lorrie Gilmore-Danes has never doubted her family’s love for her. But when she’s fourteen, her grandpa dies and her family is sent into a tailspin. And for the first time, Lorrie finds herself not knowing where she belongs.
Name: Lottie Donahue-Callisto
Story: Delicate / New Romantics / Coming Of Age
Face claim: Uma Thurman
Love Interest: Luke Danes
Troy Donahue-Calliso had a plan. A good plan, at that. A plan that involved graduating from Chilton at the top of his class, then going to Yale to study political science and international affairs, then going to Yale law, then becoming a lawyer, then senator, and then the youngest President in history. He liked his plan, it was a good plan. It left room for the occasional stress relieving hookups with his friends, it accounted for the disdain that he would forever face in Hartford – for his sexuality, for the colour of his skin, for his parents’ divorce, for his father not being from Hartford. It was the perfect, foolproof plan. He never planned for the Gilmores.

Name: Paige Huntzberger
Story: In Omnia Paratus
Face claim: Annasophia Robb
Love Interest: Finn & Colin McRae
In omnia paratus. Ready for anything. As the youngest Huntzberger and a future Life-And-Death Brigadier, Paige Huntzberger had always lived by those words. She believed in living life to the fullest, enjoying every moment, and not worrying about the future. But when she starts at Yale, with Logan, Finn, and Colin to guide her into the next stage of her life, Paige finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about the world.
Name: Preston Gilmore
Story: Untitled
Face claim: Matt Bomer
Love Interest: Lexi Danes
Name: Sage Hall
Story: Thank You For The Music
Face claim: Kaylee Bryant
Love Interest: Jess Mariano or Dave Rygalski
Music was everything to Sage Hall, it always had been. Not only was her dad a musician, but she herself was something of a prodigy. Playing ten instruments, writing her own songs, and performing at every town event since she was five, all Sage had ever wanted was to be known for her own merits and not as The Troubadour’s daughter. It seemed hopeless, and Sage was close to resigning herself to only ever being known for her father, when she accidentally crashed into Luke’s newly arrived nephew — a cute troublemaker who only knew her as “that music girl.”
Name: Sam Gleason
Story: Town That Raised Me
Face claim: Sabrina Carpenter
Love Interest: Jess Mariano
Baby number thirteen, and thirteen years younger than the next youngest sibling, calling Sam Gleason’s birth unexpected would be an understatement. But despite her mom being too checked out to raise another child, and her father having left years ago, Sam was still happy. Kirk, the youngest of her older brothers, had raised her for most of her life, and everyone in Stars Hollow was happy to help out. Life in Stars Hollow was never boring, but when Rory Gilmore leaves Stars Hollow High to go to prep school in Hartford, Sam finds her town, and her life, changing in ways she had never expected.

Story: Tarnished Gold
Face claim: Blake Lively
Love Interest: Logan Huntzberger & Rory Gilmore
Hartford girls should be seen, not heard; pretty, never vain; smart, not a show off; and they should always be compliant with whatever plans their parents made. As the Dugray heiress, Sophie knew this better than anyone. Still, it didn’t stop her from partying until sunrise, flirting with Logan Huntzberger, or even from maintaining a 4.0GPA. But she knew better than to aspire to be anything more than a dinner party hostess running the DAR. Then Rory Gilmore comes to Chilton, a whirlwind of literary references and small town optimism, and for the first time in her life, Sophie finds herself imagining life beyond Hartford Society.

Victoria Bechtel. Josephine St James. Vicki, Tori, Josie. Josephine Victoria Bechtel-St James often joked that she had a new name for every new city that she moved to – only, it wasn’t entirely a joke. Having moved more than twenty times in sixteen years, she was no stranger to starting over, to reinventing herself. Her own mother had only been in her life long enough to choose her middle name, while her brother’s mother had divorced their father after finding out that he’d had a child with another woman. Ever since, it had only been the three of them. In ever city, in every fresh start, they had been there to tether her, to make sure that she would never lose herself in her endless reinventions. But this time it’s different. This time, they won’t be there. This time, Harry is staying in England, in boarding school, and their dad is moving to San Francisco. This time, Vicki alone is moving to Stars Hollow, Connecticut, to live with the mother she’s never known.
Name: Viviana Lozano
Story: Untitled
Face claim: Zion Moreno
Name: Willow Dell
Story: The Road Not Taken
Face claim: Kristine Froseth
Love Interest: Jess Mariano
Willow Dell was nice. That was the first word that anyone would use to describe her. She was nice, sweet, friendly, involved, polite. Bored. Willow Dell was bored. Her life had been the same for as long as she could remember. She’d been in the same dance classes since she was three, not for any love of the art but because her godmother taught them; she’d been second to Rory Gilmore in every class since she was five; her now-paid jobs were the same favours she’d been doing around town since she was eight; the only signs that time was passing at all were the marks of her height on the kitchen doorframe and the new cats her mom was always bringing home. Rory Gilmore changing schools is the first time anything in Willow’s life has ever been different, though she’s disappointed to find that it didn’t change things nearly as much as she’d hoped. She still went to dance classes, she still had the same jobs, she was just the first in her class. But when Luke’s nephew moves to town, Willow knows that change is in the air. Willow Dell is nice. Nice girls offer to show moody new boys around town. Nice girls don’t fall in love with boys like Jess Mariano.

Okay ya'll the Belleville Senators (AHL) have Ryan Mackinnon and Jacob Larsson on their roster, and Larsson's girlfriend is pregnant. I'm gonna assume the onesies were for them!
Agree! and I think in January they sorted it out quickly so I didn't even hear about it because people also quickly realized that this wasn't about Nate. Photo will be removed to avoid confusion

;; Something Old Chapter One of Just Me & You for @wyattjohnston
Table of Contents Playlist «« 🤍 »» Chapter Two
Summary: Charlotte returns to the cabin for the first time in years for the wedding of her childhood friend Daphne and her future husband AHL Captain of the Belleville Senators: Dillon Hetherington. Word Count: 2,000+
“-get the map out of the glove box.”
It had been an order, not a suggestion. Unlike the cool breeze that had blown in through the passenger side window, tempers were rising as the car carried them down the winding roads of the provincial highway. For kilometers now, the scene had gone unchanged. The road was lined with thick, towering trees, and in the distance on the skyline the towering silhouettes of the mountains - and while it was all so familiar to Charlotte, and she was sure they had been on the right path her boyfriend, Wesley, thought otherwise.
They had been together five long years, and not once had Wesley entertained the idea of going out to the lake. He was a city boy through and through, with his car never traveling more than thirty minutes out of the city limits of Calgary. Hell, it still hadn’t. They were in a rental.
“I don’t think this thing has a map, what about the GPS on your phone?” Charlotte sighed as she pulled her feet down from where she had propped them up on the dashboard.
“I don’t have phone reception in the middle of fucking nowhere, Charlotte.”
Leaning forward, her body strained against the restriction of her seatbelt. Her back was slick with sweat as the heat of her body had not paired well with the leather seats Wes had insisted on getting during the peak of the summer heat. Careful fingers carded and sifted through the almost empty glove box. Her freshly manicured fingertips toyed with the edge of the leasing agreement for a moment before spotting a faded and tattered map buried beneath the clutter of business cards. Pinching it between her fingers she pulled it from the box and held it up almost triumphantly, but Wes’s eyes were focused on the road ahead of them with a heavy scowl consuming his face.
The flutter of the map as it was unfolded, only seemed to irritate him further as he let out an exasperated sigh and his grip around the steering wheel tightened. The noise only intensified further as the map was challenged by the gust of air that had kept the temperature of the car tolerable.
“Jesus Christ, Charlotte, close the damn window,” Wesley groaned out, but before her hand could leave the flimsy paper of the map, his hand had left the wheel and had fallen on the buttons of the power windows. With the buzz of the window going closed, the humid heat of the car returned, but with it too came silence. In that silence, they found their calm.
Charlotte traced her fingers around the familiar route that she had driven almost every summer since she was a child. From Calgary to the cabin the drive had been pretty straightforward and was no more than an hour and a half worth of driving, but for someone like Wes who had never taken the route before Charlotte was sure it felt agonizingly long. Tapping their destination on the map, Charlotte looked up and to Wesley who waited impatiently in the driver's seat for instruction.
“So how fucked are we?” His words left her eyes rolling.
“We aren’t fucked,” she countered him, “we’re almost there. There’s going to be a dirt road on the right. It’ll take us out to the cabin.”
“Dirt road,” he scoffed, his words falling into a mumble she could hear even while sitting beside him, “when we get married, we’re not doing it all the way out here.”
Charlotte almost laughed, her gaze cast out the window to watch the trees roll on by. It was always when we get married as if she already wore a ring on her finger, but Wesley had yet to propose - and after being together for so long, Charlotte was beginning to think he may never. Though, that was never something she would ever admit to him or anyone. Instead, she let herself fall into the reassurance of him having said when, because when meant it would happen one day.
“What’s wrong with the lake? It’s beautiful out here, intimate. I really do think you’ll end up liking it, Wes,” she encouraged, her hand reaching out to rest on the strength of his thigh.
Wesley wasn’t convinced.
“You really expect everyone to make the drive all the way out here?” he cast her a glance, his dark brow raising, “to deal with the bugs, the smell of shit-” He ranted on, listing everything he could possibly hate about the rural expanse of land Alberta offered. It only worsened when Charlotte directed him to turn onto the dirt road and he was greeted by the rumble of stones against the body of the car and the embrace of its uneven surface beneath the tires, “this is going to destroy the goddamn car.”
“Hey, we’re almost there, it’s fine,” Charlotte assured, her fingers giving his thigh a reassuring squeeze, “the company had my card on file, if anything happens to the car I’ve got it covered. I’m the reason we’re coming all the way out here anyway.”
“It’ll be the first and last time I make this drive for you,” Wesley’s words were almost enough to have her recoiling. There was an annoyance in his tone, one that left her chest heavy with guilt as the bumpy road rocked her like a cradle in its embrace.
“I think you’ll change your mind by the end of the weekend,” Charlotte kept her confidence as she retracted her hand from his lap and left her eyes to focus on the road ahead.
Beyond the seemingly never-ending thick of trees that lined the way, the road soon opened its mouth to the driveway. It was narrow and looped to the front of the lakefront cabin that had been the very foundation of her childhood summers - and while it had recently received a fresh coat of paint it was all unchanged. The front porch still stood strong, the swing where her grandmother once sat with her dear friend still coasted in the gentle summer breeze, and when she looked up she could still see the same curtains hanging in the bedroom she had once called her own.
The only difference was the cars that lined the driveway. It was no longer lined with pickup trucks or station wagons, but instead rental cars and the cars that could only come with the luxury of making multiple million dollars a year - the wealth that came with playing professionally in the world of hockey.
“They’re already here!” Charlotte spoke with great excitement as her hand went to the seatbelt, unbuckling it before the car could come to a complete stop.
She made a mess of the map as she shoved it back into the glove box, and the moment she heard the locks disengage she was out the door. Charlotte’s Converse kicked up the dirt of the driveway as she left the car and Wesley behind her. She navigated around every flower bed, and up the steps, like she had done many times before, and didn’t stop until she was forced to in the entryway. It had been a collision that had stilled her, the thick, athletic body of the groom to be almost enough to knock the wind out of her.
Dillion Heatherington, was an intimidating guy if you hadn’t gotten the pleasure of knowing him further than his career on the ice. After years of being traded and bouncing around the American Hockey League, with brief stints in the National Hockey League, he had solidified himself a place as the Captain of the Bellville Senators. He was known for his leadership and mentorship over the younger players who would ultimately go on to play for the Ottawa Senators, he was also the occasional tough guy - but Charlotte had known him long before that. She could still remember the lanky teenager he had been when he had been drafted to the Swift Current Broncos. She could still remember the first time she had met him and he had stolen her best friend’s heart.
“Alright, where is she?” Charlotte was quick to speak as she placed a friendly pat against his chest.
“It’s nice to see you too, Charlie,” Dillion laughed, his hands coming down to steady her on her feet.
“You’ve kept her away from me for too long Heatherington,” Charlotte spoke quickly, brushing off the nickname she tried to abandon almost a decade ago, “you think I’d let you get away with stealing her away from me ag-”
“CHARLIE!” her name was a shriek that echoed off the walls of the entryway and drew her eyes up to the staircase that led up to the cabin’s second story.
At first, it was a face she did not recognize, but as the feminine figure made her way down the steps with an elegant stride it quickly became clear who had called out to her.
“Holy shit, Daphne?” Charlotte gawked, abandoning her friend’s fiancé by the front door as she opened her arms to her childhood friend, “what did they do to you in Bellville?”
It hadn’t been an outlandish question to ask when the modelesque woman in front of her. Daphne no longer looked like she had when she first left Calgary at twenty-three. This shouldn’t have surprised Charlotte, they had kept in touch via social media over the years, but the daily Instagram updates didn’t do Daphne’s transformation justice. Her once fiery red hair, which had always been an eyecatcher and her signature look, was now dyed blonde. She was dressed head to toe in designer labels, wearing white as she would be all weekend, and her makeup was done to perfection as if she had a personal makeup artist to follow her from one place to the next. She was the epitome of the perfect bride. The epitome of a hockey wife. Though she wasn’t one. Not yet, though that would change by the end of the weekend.
“You mean besides finally getting this bloke to propose?” Daphne was grinning wide as she thrust out her left hand to show off the rock of a ring on her finger.
Charlotte had seen the ring only twice before. Once on the video call she had used to make the announcement, and her social media post that followed, but the ring was even more impressive in person. “No wonder you waited to get the C before popping the question,” Charlotte teased as she took her friend's hand in both of her own carefully, “you’ve got good taste.”
“Oh no, Dilly let me pick it out,” Daphne corrected with a smile, her own eyes fixated on the impressive diamond on her finger. “He’s so busy during the season with all games and the travel I think I’m lucky he was there to propose at all,” she added, her tone teasing as she peered around Charlotte, “speaking of missing men, when am I finally going to meet Wesley?”
Charlotte cursed as she looked back towards the door, her eyes going wide as she reached for the handle, “I left him in the car!” She was almost laughing as she drew open the handle, Daphne walking out behind her as she moved out onto the porch.
Wesley had parked the car in the drive away and had been grabbing the bags, but it had been abandoned for a phone call as he stood with his back to the house and his phone to his ear. He must have finally gotten reception with the skies clear of any trees around the house.
“Wes!” she called out to him, her tone beckoning as she took a stride down the step only to stop when he raised a hand up. Silencing her without having to look at her. Her tone dropped as she looked back to Daphne, a forced smile on her lips, “it must be a work call. He’s got a big business deal he’s been trying to close…”
Her own words began to trail as Charlotte’s attention had become captured by the rumbling of another vehicle making its way down the drive. With all the cars that had been in the driveway, she hadn’t expected anyone else so her curiosity was peaked. She cast Daphne a quick glance, her dark brow raising at the sight of the large jeep as it rolled into the last vacancy on the lot as if to ask: Who else are you expecting? But Daphne made no effort to answer. Instead, she looked away in an attempt to hide the guilt that flooded her features.
Moving down the steps, Charlotte followed the same path she had taken to get to the front door, but this time her steps were a little less calculated as she stumbled into the flower bed just to get a good look at the license plate. The Manitoba license plate.
Her stomach fell, her mouth growing dry at the sight of the driver’s side door opening. It was from there, standing among the colorful perennials her grandmother once planted, she watched as an all too familiar figure stepped from the front seat and towered over anything and anyone nearby. He disappeared back into the car with his back to her for only a moment as he grabbed his bag, giving her a glimmer of hope that maybe she was imagining it all, but a symphony of barks from the golden retriever that bolted from the back seat brought her back to her grim reality. It was Adam, and he was undoubtedly Dillon’s best man.

To Arms - Shortly after Florida became the first state to vote to recognize Donald Trump Jr. as President, a wave of rioting and civil unrest explodes across the country. Magats attack government buildings, abortion clinics, and prominent progressive institutions. In the most extreme cases, Deputy Gangs and Police Unions organize to either leave local governments to their fate or join the right wing mob outright. In some cases, like in LA and Houston, Police forces attempt to capture local officials and establish municipal juntas. While initially slow to respond, President Harris invokes the Insurrection Act and deploys the National Guard and US Army to suppress the rioters. In many cases, loyal civilians organize to suppress the riots themselves. In LA, the Crips, Bloods, and Latin Kings band together with protestors and manage to stop the cops from taking power before the National Guard can get mobilized, and actually form a loyalist militia unit that would help pacify the Central Valley. Trump's Army - In Mar-a-Lago, the MAGA regime formed a government nearly a month before the official Inauguration Day. Its first act was to consolidate the various state defense forces into a single National Défense Force, and impose the first Draft since the Vietnam War to raise 300,000 troops. Its members are mostly retired US military and ex-cops who's departments were provincialized by state governments over the last 4 years. Their equipment and vehicles are primarily military surplus donated to police departments over the last 40 years via the DoD's 1033 program, however a good deal also includes donated surplus from private citizens. While the structure of the NDF is still being set up, State Defense Forces begin seizing military arsenals and moving against loyalist National Guard units. In Illinois a joint invasion by the Indiana and Missouri state guards carries out an attack against Scott AFB near Belleville, and actually captures the base and 71 aircraft. The few planes that manage to escape do so with no ammo or munitions in a colossal embarrassment for the Air Force and the Illinois National Guard. A few weeks after the inauguration of Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez, the Illinois National Guard has been fallen back and been bottled up in Springfield and Rock Island, with only a small garrison in Chicago left to defend the city from a mob of right wing militants and the NDF. AOC's First 100 Days - Immediately upon taking office AOC orders the US Navy to deploy to the Great Lakes to provide air cover to those cities along I-80 and begins pulling American forces from overseas deployments. The House of Representatives has been whittled down to 299 members, 201 Democrats, and 98 former Republicans, now barred by an act of Congress from affiliating with the GOP. Most form ranks around Mitt Romney's National Union Party which has a grand total of one former Democrat among its members: former Senator Krysten Sinema now representing David Schweikert's old district. With supermajorities in both houses, and progressive control of the Democratic Caucus, AOC is able to push through dozens of bills in her first few days on the job. The first is a new version of the ERA authored by Katie Porter that passed the House in 2028 and can now clear the Senate. To the shock of the more moderate members of the Democratic Party, AOC puts forward her Green New Deal virtually unchanged. In a public address she ties the GND explicitly to the war effort: domestic oil sources and most of the country's refineries are in Republican hands, contested, or still flooded after the last hurricane season; most of the country's coal reserves are similarly in rebel hands; meanwhile the Green Zones, those areas controlled by the Federal Government, are home to most of the country's renewable energy sources. At the President's urging Congress raises taxes, establishes a wealth tax, and authorizes trillions in new spending to restructure the economy of the two main Green Zones into full war production. Congress also supports the wartime suspension of Habeus Corpus, but is less supportive of the President re-establishing the Office of War Information which places unprecedented restrictions on online media and brings the mainstream press to heel in an effort to stop the spread of disinformation from foreign and domestic bot farms and to cut through the noise and opinion pieces that were preventing people from getting often life saving information. This executive order comes in the middle of impeachment proceedings for Supreme Court justices accused of aiding and abetting the Trump regime, much to the irritation of Congress. Thomas remains in DC defiant of Congressional oversight, while Alito and Kavanaugh flee to Mar-a-Lago, taking some of the heat off the President. The Everything Shortage - While new battery plants and renewable energy sources come online the US is forced to seek foreign sources of oil and gas once again. By July the Gulf Coast oil refineries have been mostly recaptured, and Chicago itself is secure enough to gain access to its refineries which when combined with those in New Jersey and California produce enough fuel to avoid catastrophe in uncontested regions, at least with wartime fuel rationing. Food security is addressed as early as April through a series of executive orders to compel farms in the Central Valley of California to tear down their orchards and wineries, avoid planting water intensive crops, and cover the central valley in fields of wheat, soy, and potatoes. In the Southwest, huge algae farms blanket the desert to provide a source of plant-based proteins. In the highly contested Midwest, the situation is far more grim. By late fall temperatures have fallen to minus 70 with the wind chill and people loyal to both factions are left to freeze or starve in their homes. Fully half of the population of these states become DPs and are forced to flee to neighboring states or into Canada in hopes of riding out the war in safety. 16 million DPs will stream into Ontario by the end of the year, far exceeding Ottawa's ability to manage the situation. American refugees pick supermarket shelves clean, stretch public services past the breaking point, and overwhelm the RCMP and local cops' ability to keep order. By year's end Canada is begging Washington to help get its citizens under control while they try and deal with their own group of White Christian Nationalist rebels in Alberta. The most the US government can do is ask NATO for support, and include Canada in the Continental Air Lift, a program initiated to supply loyalist holdouts too far inland to be supplied by the Navy or by overland convoy. It won't be enough. The New World Factory - Not all is gloom and doom by the end of the First Year of this second civil war. The Surplus in solar energy in the southwest has made it possible for the US military to continue to operate as a mechanized force in the region, using civilian electric vehicles to maintain supply lines, and secure much of New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. With the surge in Green New Deal dollars, and new immigrant labor incentives the Southwest experiences a manufacturing boom, providing everything from microchips to munitions to the war effort. Most who come to the southwest have to do so on foot or by boat from overseas after the US suspends all non-essential air travel to conserve fuel. Refugee camps are emptied out after the Department of Housing seizes most of the country's unsold houses and apartments, and unoccupied offices. War Crimes - It took the MAGA regime all of five minutes to show its true colors. One of the first bills passed by the Republican Congress was their own suspension of Habeus Corpus, but this would not just be used to conduct the mass arrest of essentially anyone the MAGA movement deemed a threat. Political dissidents, religious minorities, LGBT people, women who sought any form of reproductive care and any doctors who provided it, all found themselves rounded up and tossed into prisons. To "solve" the problem of prison overcrowding the MAGA regime took the broadest possible interpretation of the Punishment Clause as possible and effectively reinstituted chattel slavery for any non-whites who did not fall in line. As for those unfortunate enough to be rounded up into prisons, a campaign of extermination began almost immediately. All of this went largely unnoticed by the Federal Government until the Marines and Navy Bluejackets reached Angola prison at the end of October 2029. The Farm was well known, and most expected to find the pre-war form of penal slavery that had been in place for generations. What they found instead were tens of thousands of half starved slaves in the fields living in shipping containers, and in the main prison complex what the President called, "a monument to cruelty." At least 10,000 people were in the prison walls, emaciated and beaten, but still alive. There were another 30,000 dead bodies in an open mass grave. Most were dead as exposure to hydrogen-cyanide gas, though there were newer bodies that had clearly been shot in an attempt by the guards to hide their crimes prior to retreating. AGEAST's military governor, upon finding out about this, reportedly vomited his guts out before ordering the conscription of every civilian in his territory, age 16 to 80, to aid in the identifying of bodies and the digging of graves. South Texas - For much of 2029, southern Texas remained heavily contested as loyal partisans and troops from Fort Hood battle to keep at least the Southern Half of the Texas Triangle in Union hands. Many call the Texas front a Civil War within a Civil War. The end of the year brings a well needed victory to the Democratic forces at the Battle of Houston, which finally secures the Gulf Coast from Brownsville to New Orleans. Leaders of the Free Texas movement use this as an opportunity to form a new government. Free Texas is recognized as the official government of Texas by Congress, and the state essentially gives itself the power to secede from itself using the Tyler-Texas treaty as a pretext to form the new state of South Texas. Although Congress will debate the admission of the 53rd State for at least another year.

SWAMP RABBITS NEWS - CATCH UP TIME
By: Mark Binetti, Greenville Swamp Rabbits SWAMP RABBITS ACQUIRE ROBIDOUX IN A TRADE Fourth-year forward comes to the Upstate in a swap for Luke Richardson (GREENVILLE, S.C.) – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced today via a Swamp Rabbit Moving Transaction that the team has acquired forward Mikael Robidoux from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for goaltender Luke Richardson. Robidoux comes to the Swamp Rabbits after completing his third ECHL season and second with the Allen Americans. The 5’11”, 200-pound forward notched a dozen points in “The Lone Star State” (7g-5ast) and accrued 176 PIM in 41 contests. Robidoux added another assist in three Kelly Cup Playoff games against the Idaho Steelheads. Hailing from La Prairie, Quebec, Robidoux, 25, enters his fourth ECHL campaign with 136 games to his credit, earning 16 goals, 18 assists, and 34 points to go along with 704 PIM as a member of the Americans and Kansas City Mavericks. Before turning professional, Robidoux played five seasons in the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League with the Shawinigan Cataractes and Quebec Remparts, logging 53 points in 203 games with 316 PIM. Richardson heads to Wheeling with a near-perfect 9-1-1 record in 14 ECHL appearances, all with Greenville, in addition to his first career shutout, a 2.07 GAA, and .935 SV%. Before coming to the Upstate, Richardson turned professional with the AHL’s Belleville Senators following his Canadian college career with Queens University. SWAMP RABBITS FALL IN “CARE AS ONE” COMMUNITY HOCKEY GAME 4,891 in attendance, helping bolster Hurricane Helene relief efforts with United Way of Greenville County (GREENVILLE, S.C.) – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits fell to the South Carolina Stingrays in the “Care As One” Community Hockey Game by a 4-3 score on Wednesday night. The game was played in front of 4,891 fans coming together to help bolster efforts in assisting those in need following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, making it one of the most attended preseason games in the last 10 years of Swamp Rabbits hockey. The game benefitted United Way of Greenville County's Community Relief Fund. The Swamp Rabbits jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals scored 92 seconds apart. Stuart Rolofs started things for Greenville when the puck came to his stick in the high slot, which he fired almost immediately in a tight window. The puck slipped through the five-hole of South Carolina starter Seth Eisele to give the Swamp Rabbits a 1-0 lead 12:00 into the first (Arvid Caderoth and Bobby Russell assisted). Over a minute and a half later, Max Coyle rifled a “Hail Mary” pass to Ben Freeman from his zone to the opposing blue line. Freeman shrugged off a defender on his back and put a shot on net that Eisele stopped, but the rebound came right to Brent Pedersen’s tape. Pedersen buried the rebound to double the Swamp Rabbits lead at 2-0 at 13:32 (Freeman and Coyle assisted). Luke Richardson stopped all eight shots in the first 20 minutes. South Carolina struck twice in the middle act, part of a run of four unanswered goals, squaring the game at 2-2 heading into the last 20 minutes. Kyler Kupka answered at 5:50 of the second, squeaking a rebound in close range past a sprawled Luke Richardson in the Swamp Rabbits net, halving the deficit to 2-1 (Dean Loukus assisted). With 4:08 left in the second on their first power play, the puck was won to Josh Wilkins on the blue line, who waltzed in uncontested to Richardson. He won the one-on-one duel with a deke, potting the puck to tie the game at 2-2 (Ben Hawerchuk and Jeremy Davidson assisted). On the goaltending front, Garin Bjorklund replaced Eisele halfway through the second, while Kolby Hay relieved Luke Richardson at the start of the third. The Stingrays pulled ahead early in the third when Jeremy Davidson pounced on a rebound close to the crease, slipping by Hay to give the Stingrays their first lead at 3-2 on their third straight goal at 4:08 of the third (Ben Hawerchuk assisted). The scoring run saw its final goal with 8:20 left when Jack Adams sprung a pass to Ryan Leibold in neutral ice. Leibold had a step on the last defender and fired a laser over Hay’s glove to push the Stingrays to a 4-2 lead (Adams assisted). With their backs against the wall, Ben Freeman tried to spark the Swamp Rabbits to a late comeback with the goaltender pulled. With 1:01 to go and Hay on the bench, the Swamp Rabbits hammered the Stingrays' net relentlessly, ending with Ben Freeman slamming the puck on the back door to pull within one at 4-3 (Arvid Caderoth and Zach White assisted). Despite the late life, the Stingrays held off the Swamp Rabbits and won 4-3. Kolby Hay picked up the loss in relief, stopping nine of 11 shots in 17:19 of work. Luke Richardson stopped 13 of 15 in the first 40 minutes of the game.
