Love the wreaths

Thinking about how they all kind of represent an inverse of the usual idea of their assigned flame type.

Usual storm flame is explosive in nature but Zakuro is on the surface kind of easily bored/impassive until the going gets serious. More volcano under pressure(literally) than outright stormy in demeanor.

Bluebell with the rain flame of tranquility has little outright chill.

Kikyo's supposed to be the most independent but he's the most long lasted loyal one in the end in TYLverse

Mist flame's supposed to be a mystery but instead we get everything about Genkishi revealed as the audience. Torikabuto's illusion also gets ripped apart in Choice.

Daisy's literally undead, opposite of the lively sun depiction.

Ghost's lightning is supposed to take all the heat onto themselves and even if he did take quite literally all that damage it went to Byakuran of the verse.

And Byakuran's a non harmonious sky in TYL as well, having the opposite of acceptance of his life and consequently,anything else in his TYL worldview.

First, as historical background, a Certain Historical Gentleman believed in a veritable encyclopedia’s worth of Evils of Onanism. The side-effects he believed to result from self-abuse ranged from “hysteria in females” to “general disability” to “love of solitude” and “bashfulness” to “fondness for unnatural or hurtful or irritation articles (such as salt, pepper, spices, vinegar, mustard…)”. But, most importantly, or most relevantly at least, he believed it caused “aversion to girls in boys but a decided liking of boys in girls”.

…Charles looks across the room at Edwin, and frowns, yet again.

It’s not quite that ghosts can’t eat, physically. They can put food in their mouths and chew. Swallow, even, and it doesn’t just, like, fall right through. But it’s like trying to eat ash or dust. No flavor, no texture, just misery. Even Charles finally gave up on trying to eat many years back; the last time he made an attempt was for a beautiful, juicy ball of rasmalai, that he felt like he could almost smell the rose and cardamom on, and when he put it in his mouth he found himself testing the limits of Edwin’s insistence that ghosts can’t get sick.

Edwin, meanwhile, had never even tried, that Charles knows of. Has always claimed he doesn’t even miss eating, like he doesn’t miss most parts of being alive.

Which is why it’s utterly bewildering and very concerning that after Hell and Esther Edwin has suddenly started to eat. Regularly.

Charles bites his lip, then sighs, then stretches, his arms going up over his head.

The movement draws Edwin’s attention and as Charles’s shirt pulls up several inches above his waistband Edwin frantically grabs for another handful of Kellogg’s Cornflakes.

(The “cornflakes were originally made to prevent masturbation” thing is sort of kind of partly a myth; Kellogg absolutely loathed masturbation and did believe that a simple plain diet was a solid way to prevent it but never specifically drew a connection between those beliefs and cornflakes in his advertising. I’ll link the Snopes entry in the replies.)

I keep seeing people say that Kaveh and Alhaitham are incompatible and I'm just like... no u don't get it. They are so compatible that I'm convinced they're literally made for each other. They're both so incredibly stubborn but underneath all the bickering, they clearly have a ton of respect for each other and recognize each other's intelligence. It's because of both that mutual respect and their directly opposing worldviews and ideals that make them both pretty much the only people that are capable of influencing good and meaningful change in the other. Kaveh brings the empathy and artistry that Alhaitham needs while Alhaitham keeps Kaveh grounded. Alhaitham always seems so much more relaxed in every scene where he interacts with Kaveh. Alhaitham is pretty much the only person that Kaveh doesn't feel the need to go full people-pleaser with (excluding the occasional client that really manages to piss him off). They're actually perfect for each other.

Hey is there any way to do a sympathetic or even good-aligned Orange Lantern? We’ve had sympathetic/good red lanterns, yellow lanterns, star sapphires…I feel like orange is next, but how can avarice/greed be good? Maybe a character with a god complex is so bad it wraps back around from being a flaw to a virtue—like, maybe they’re so greedy that they think of the entire universe as being part of their possession, so anything that threatens the universe is something they would fight against. Like the same kind of vibe as a dragon that thinks of an entire village as their hoard, so they protect the village. Or maybe their greed manifests itself as greed for knowledge or greed for worship or greed for friends/allies (as, perhaps, types of “power”), so even if they’re not like fully heroic necessarily, they can still be complex and complicated and can play off of the other Lantern Corps in interesting ways.

So does anybody else ever think about how Loop felt the need to demonstrate that the party's deaths wouldn't have any effect on the loops. I know I do but that's besides the point. Anyway I don't think Loop actually needs to bathe, they just like to feel included.

i think a lot about how early-series, demigods are referred to pretty equally as "demigods," "half-bloods," and "godlings," - the last used particularly by gods at demigods - but after that "godlings" is almost exclusively used to refer to minor gods.
