Been seeing a lot of people say Dragons Rising is gonna be next-gen, what do yall think?

Personally I don't see it being next gen, you could add new characters without sidelining/removing older ones, Sora and Arin and the Baby dragon could all be new additions to the team, and you don't have to remove already existing characters just to make room for them (unless it's for Character Development reasons).

Im excited for DR2 pt2 for a number of reasons, and one of them is the prospect of watching Nya just barely hold onto her composure by a thread. Not only is Jay gone, but now her brother is too. Realistically speaking they'll probably just go the same route they did in s9, where shes grieving quietly but trying to keep a brave face for Lloyd, but god itd be so juicy if we got to see her well and truly crack for once, yknow?

I think the only times we ever saw her allow herself to visibly grieve for anyone was after Zane's sacrifice and Cole's fall - yet in both of those cases, she rebounded (or at least, appeared to rebound) relatively quickly. Now that we have 15+ seasons of content to better understand her character i think its reasonable to say that in both cases she probably didnt truly process that grief but instead shoved it down so she could be strong for her friends/protect herself from feeling vulnerable - but now? Not only has her character come a long way, but she's also missing two of the most important people in her life. She has been doing an alright job staying strong in the face of Jay's absence, but to lose Kai as well? So soon after finding him again post-Merge?

Anyway dont mind me, ill be off in the corner smashing Nya's emotions with my angst mallet :)

Zane: You're probably an only child who was pretty much sheltered/had pretty strict parents and didn't really get to have a social life. Now that you're able to do so, you learn about the world through people you meet and find your place among people who are patient with you. You're living life to the best of your capabilities and treasuring every moment.

Cole: You don't have the best relationship with your parents, so you became the person most people could lean on. You keep up a strong front, but on the inside you have a bottle ready to overflow or break. You're afraid to ask for help, but when you do, you feel guilty but those who truly care about you don't judge and help you.

Jay: You hide your trauma with humor. Everyone is so used to you being the little energy pill of the group that they don't really see you as anything else. It takes those who know you to ask what's wrong or to even offer help. You put your trust in a select few. Those who know your past and not judge are the ones you let stick around.

Kai: You have parental sibling syndrome, it doesn't matter what age you are or where you fall in the family tree. You had to become the responsible one for those around you and didn't get to enjoy life as is. All you do is worry about what comes next for them instead of yourself. When you finally do start to think for yourself, you may feel guilty. It takes a kick in the butt for you to think about your needs for once.

Nya: You are headstrong but stubborn, feeling no one but yourself can understand what you've been through. You hate being put into molds and want to find your own thing. Change is scary, but forced change is a nightmare. Sometimes it's for the best, sometimes it can amount to nothing.

Lloyd: You just want to be loved. From a young age, you were loaded up with expectations and did everything you could to meet them. Still, it was never enough. When you started defying what was set, you were seen as a traitor or an enemy. It took one person to see you in that different light to turn your whole world around.

Pixal: You were raised to take over a legacy, but it ended up destroying you as a person. Once you built yourself back up, you kept quiet until you found people who understood the real you. You made peace with those that made you, setting boundaries for yourself, and finding love in those that built you up again.

Morro: You're the type to scream "But Daddy I Love Him" or "I Can Fix Him" when there's really nothing to fix. You love him as he is, but need an excuse for those around you who judge him because you feel like they hate him. You know the person underneath and cherish them more than the outward appearance. You end up loving something so broken that you can never forget about it once it's gone.

Garmadon: You blame the world and all who inhabit it because one person wronged you and changed your whole perspective. You don't like feeling this way, but trust is a two way street and few people have earned the right to walk it with you. You feel like you are doomed to solitude, but also know its because of your own doing.

Wu: You're cryptic and choose to be difficult. You use this as a way of blocking out past trauma rather than confronting it. You'd rather handle your problems yourself than accept the help you sought out. You'd rather confront the problem before others can find out there is a problem.

Tournament of the Sources Bracket

I just finished the season and I made this spreadsheet so my friend could do a little march madness. It's a bit chaotic because there was likely off-screen battles, and some people seemed to have just been made to fight more battles. The Master of Itineraries doesn't seem to care that much about fairness. I omitted the names of the masters who had elemental powers we saw during the Tournament of Elements, so as not to spoil which masters have apparently passed. I know I spelled Frak's name wrong. Non-Censored Bracket below. Beware. Spoilers.

It's cool to see what could've been if it wasn't for all of the riggings. I was truly suprised people on the same team weren't ever pit against each other. I'm curious if that was by the tournament's design as they did appear to enter it in teams.

Bracket with No Cheating

Sorry Nuero, but I just assumed. The match between Cole and Frak wasn't strictly rigged, unlike the others. However, the arena was designed to be advantagous to Frak, so assuming they're on even ground I'm giving it to Cole. Nothing about the Cinder v. Wyldfire match seemed weighted to one side or the other. I think the lack of rigging for both Wyldfire and Sora (up until the very end) demonstrates that Ras and/or Bleckt underestimates them.

It would've been cool to see a rematch between Cole and Zane after all these seasons. We've also never seen Lloyd and Nya fight. There would've been a lot of ethical questions for Sora to consider if she had to fight Zane -ethical questions she didn't seem to consider when fighting the tournament bots- so we can be thankful that didn't happen. Although, I assume if the ninja ended up in a fight against eachother, they wouldn't actually fight. It's more likely they'd strategically concede. Under this umbrella, I'd think Nya would have conceded to Lloyd so she could look for Jay. Cole and Zane would've had a battle of concessions, similar to Jay v Cole in season 4, which could have gone either way. Sora would have conceded to Zane or Cole. because she's insecure. Zane hasn't had much interactions with the kids or tournaments so it's difficult to say whether he would have accepted. Cole, I think would have pulled a similar move to what he did in season 4. Lloyd against Sora, Zane, or Cole would have also been a battle of concessions. So maybe Roby should have been thankful to his uncle because I'm sure he wouldn't have been happy about all these peaceful agreements.

I love the ninjago writers SO MUCH if anyone has like any information on the behind the scenes decisions and stuff that’s gone into the development of this season that’s changed and improved the previous issues tell me I wanna know! Argh I’m so happy, they finally gave Cole a family outside of the ninja team because let’s be real Cole was kinda sidelined for ages he needs a nice family of people who respect him and also he needs a hot purple boyfriend to look after him!

Lloyd isn’t an npc, he’s a human being with flaws?? Like actual? Logical? Flaws? He’s not just a main character anymore?? His flaws aren’t even super annoying either. And like CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW FUNNY IT IS THAT TIKTOK AND YOUTUBE CANONICALLY EXIST? THE NINJA ARE LIKE, TUMBLR SEXYMEN??? IN THE LEGO UNIVERSE?? THATS SO FUNNY, WHAT?

all the jokes feel like actual people talking, the writing feels natural for the first time in years! Zane isn’t constantly abused, he’s happy and frog man is the best character and if Lego doesn’t immediately release mini figures for frohicky and all the other minor characters that are pretty important I’m going to Sue.

also I haven’t watched the next episode but if it doesn’t explain what happened with Zane to end up with a frohicky plushie I’m going to go ballistic, alright?

Ninjago fanfic community I need your help.

I’ve been lookin in AO3 for like 3 Days now and I still can’t find it!! There’s a specific fan fic I started reading like a year or two ago, and I just can’t seem to find it or remember what the name was.

It’s a VERY angsty (LIKE tw) fic about Zane, with a bunch of chapters. The premise is that a law or bill is passed that says all nindroids ever made are now owned by the government. And for some reason, this makes all the nindroids be kidnapped and locked away, and then tortured until they are brainwashed to just serve humans. (It’s cause the person who set the bill is a victim of the little ice attack Zane did when he sacrificed himself) At the same time, the ninja are helping prepare lloyd to become the president, (????) so he can rewrite the nindroids law. (That’s not how that works, but that’s like, the b plot. it’s whatever) It’s super fucked, but the writing is juicy and delightful, really long chapters, and it has cryptor in it. :) And he’s written well.

It’s also polyninja, (Kai/Cole/Zane/Jay) and Pixel is mysterious missing? Like it’s not even a plot point, she’s just not here.

I’m looking for it cause sometimes, you just need to read something angsty, but also, I wanna see if they’ve updated 😭 cause last I looked, it was slooooooowly still going, and that’s kinda rare, ya know? There’s a lot of fics that’s just 55/? Chapters in, and then it just ends. No matter what tags I’ve checked I just don’t see anything for it, so if it’s just gone, I get it. People delete old works all the time, I just need an answer, ya know?

A light dusting of snow covered the purple hyacinths and lavender flowers left on the base of Zane’s statue. It was odd for Ninjago City to get snow this early into spring, especially when the flowers were already blooming. Kai would have liked to think that it was Zane sending them a message, but he knew that wasn’t true. Zane was gone.

How long had it been since they lost him? Kai stopped keeping track a month in. Thinking about it didn’t help, that just brought back the twisting dagger in his gut, a reminder of how he failed him. 

Pixal would say something smart to that. She always acted like she had the answer to everything. She and Kai had gotten close since the funeral, becoming a kind of odd couple. Pixal was one of the few people Kai still talked to regularly. He’d fallen off with Cole and Jay almost immediately after the funeral. Lloyd and Nya stuck around for a while, but after he stopped visiting Garmadon’s monastery, he stopped talking to Lloyd and only saw Nya every few weeks. Pixal was the only one he saw every day, usually meeting her during the singular break she took from work. 

Since Zane died, Pixal threw herself into her work. Not only did she assist Cyrus, she devoted her time to some “independent project” she wouldn’t tell Kai about. Despite her secrecy, he was sure it had to do with Zane. 

He took a deep breath, trying to smell the sweet scent of spring from the flowers in front of him. All he came up with was bitter cold.

He met Pixal outside that evening. Her breaks were always late, but this was later than normal. The sun was setting and the neon lights of Ninjago City glowed along with the cool white light of streetlamps. The pair sat in the alley next to Borg Tower, away from the streets bustling with people who just got off work and were excited to head home. This wasn’t Kai’s ideal location. He hated being near Borg Tower, but Pixal said she wasn’t able to go out this time, so Kai went anyway. He liked seeing her more than he hated being around that place, he supposed. 

In her lap, Pixal held one of the packed lunches that came from the building’s cafeteria. Though Pixal always brought food out on her break, Kai never saw her eat. Usually, she just gave it to him, figuring he hadn’t eaten all day. Usually, she was right, too. 

At least the food was good.

They were quiet. Conversations between them took a moment to start. A few minutes spent in the raw silence, listening to the whirr of engines on the roads, the murmuring of crowds on phones, the occasional caw of birds flying from one pole or building to another, then they would begin. Pixal would bring up some benign aspect of her work or Kai would mention something he saw in a shop and they would continue from there. 

“Cyrus is working on a new model of the Borg Phone.”

“Again? Didn’t the last one just come out?”

“Indeed. I believe he is trying to keep spirits up while we all work on getting back to normal.”

“Seems like things already are,” murmured Kai, watching the crowds navigate the streets nearby, most of their heads bowed and pushing past everyone else to get home faster.

Pixal watched with him, resting her head against the cement wall. She sighed. “Perhaps it is just us who are stuck.”

“What do you mean?”

“It has been almost four weeks since the funeral. Twenty-six days. And yet, we are still…” She tried to find the words.

“Mourning?” Kai supplied.

She nodded. “Exactly.”

“Eh, it’s not abnormal. Not like the others seem to be handling it any better. Nya says Lloyd just helps his dad teach classes, otherwise he’s in his room. She’s kept working on her own projects, upgrading the SamX suit. I haven’t seen Cole or Jay since the funeral.”

Pixal hummed. “I saw something interesting the other day on the news. There are rumors Jay’s getting a TV show.”

“You’re kidding.”

She shook her head. “Maybe he’s moved on. Maybe Cole has too, just in a less… public way.”

Kai was quiet. He tried to take it in. His teammates were off doing their own things now. Lloyd was teaching, taking up the mantle of his uncle and father. Jay was starting a new TV show, likely about to put his over-the-top personality to use. Cole had run off, just like he’d done when Master Wu first found him. Even Nya found purpose in her alter ego. And he was… where exactly? Kai couldn’t think of anything he’d done in the past few weeks, besides leave a bouquet of now frosted flowers on Zane’s grave. His days were spent aimlessly wandering from park to park, place to place. Sometimes he found himself drifting to the underbelly of the city, but he could never bring himself to do it. 

He had Pixal. She was someone he could count on. Visiting her every day, even if it was only for thirty short minutes between her own work, her own purpose, it kept him afloat.

Kai felt himself jolt up from where he’d gotten into his own comfy position on the wall, dropping the piece of falafel that was halfway to his mouth when he started his digression. A bit of the tahini sauce in the plastic container jumped back out and hit his shirt. 

Then he noticed Pixal looking at him. “Is everything alright?”

Kind of. This was not the realization Kai needed to be having right now. He was barely over the first one which hit him over the head during his eulogy at Zane’s funeral. 

Now shaking, Kai took a napkin out and wiped the small stain off his shirt, paying more attention to it than needed. His brain whirred. She kept him afloat. He was here because of her. 

“Kai?”

“I’m alright, I’m okay.” He really needed to work on his lying skills. 

“I don’t believe you are. Please, are you thinking about Zane now?” 

“No- well, yes, but no-”

“What do you mean?”

“I’m thinking about you,” he blurted and before he could stop himself he said, “You’re my world.”

Her watch went off. She frowned and stood. “I’m sorry, Kai. I have to go. We’ll have to discuss this another time.”

“Wait, Pix--”

And then she was gone without a sound. Kai felt an anger bubbling up inside him. One he hadn’t felt in weeks. Not at Pixal, but himself. What was he thinking? He couldn’t come back tomorrow. He couldn’t come back at all. 

He grabbed his things and stood, fighting back the licks of flame that he could feel sparking up to the surface. There went his anchor, the last good thing in his life. Now he was the only one without purpose. 

He merged into the crowds, pulling up the hood of his jacket in an attempt to not be recognized. Not that anyone would. He was another face in the crowd. 

What could he do? He could try and find Nya, sob to her about everything, but then would he just drag her down too? His stomach was twisted in knots. What could he do? What could he do? 

The question kept repeating in his mind, looping as he wandered away from the crowds and the center of Ninjago City to the park again. He was back in front of Zane’s statue. The continuous flurry now covered the flowers he’d brought, leaving only a bit of pastel purple peeking out. Kai stared at it. He stared until it was covered completely by the snow. Then, he turned his back, stuffed his fists into his pockets, and walked away, knowing exactly where he was going.

Okay, personal thoughts on dragons rising under the cut. Spoilers ahead!

I didn't care too much about Wildfyre going into part 2. she was cool but not really a character I was fully invested in. That is, until her and Kai went on their little quest/mission to get the dragon energy core. They were so Sweet! I loved how Kai had to be the responsible one and how Wildfyre had to learn how to thikn before she acted. They're a really good dynamic and I their relationship growing during this season felt very natrual and good!

Zane! also not one of my favorite characters. But him speaking to a broom with Pixal's photo taped to it got to me okay? I do wonder now where she is.

Mr. Frohicky (idk how to spell things, i've been up all night. give me a break lol) I did Not expect him to return after the crossroads episode back in part 1. He's actually grown on me a lot. It's still kinda weird bc the tone of this show is just a Bit different than previous Ninjago. But it's not bad and I wouldn't hate seeing more of him in the future

Lloyd. God he got so much character develepment this season but especially in part 2! From him trying to do everything on his own to upkeep the Monastary and then finally excepting help, to getting much better at teaching the new ninja. I really loved all the scenes with him an Arin and how their relationship has gone from Arin being a fanboy, to genuine respect and friendship. 10/10

Speaking of Lloyd. What on Earth was all that stuff he saw Again when he acted as the conduit again? I really hope we get more info on those vision in the next season. That's the one big mystery that they havn't really touched on

last lloyd thing, mayeb it's just the angst lover in me, but I really hope there's some kind of conequence to him acting as the conduit. Maybe it starts really draining him or maybe it just makes accessing his power a little harder. I hope they explain it or at least like, mention it.

I'm actually kinda glad they didn't go the whole route of having Nya distrust the Djinn guy who'se name i can't remember lol. It was a nice expectation subversion. Bc my first thought was that he was gonna be evil/ have heard that *she* was the one who tecnically destroyed Djinnjago. I really like that they helped him the way they did and the lesson it taught Sora

Speaking of Sora. I love her. I still fully belive that her power is creation but if it is just 'tech power' i really like how they're handling it. LIke we all Knew it was never Ryu's power she was using but the moment *she* figured that out still felt genuine and deserved because we saw her go through the process of realizing whta was holding her back. 10/10. no notes

Freaking COLE! So him and Lloyd are tied as my favorite charaters bc yee. But holy shit even tho it was 5 am when i got to his episode and i was exhausted. I sat up on the couch and just lost my shit. One, he's still so good at finding people in trouble/captured and deciding he's their protecter. I love him so much. and two. was it just me or was that whole episode so freaking queer coded it isnt funny? Like, even more so than his true potential episode back in S1.

Shipping aside, I really like how on par with his character his episodes were. Even tho they were short and I really crave more about him, they did a good job of leaving just enough questions to keep us interested while also showing us the important parts. Plys the new ability rock monster thing is cool

in that same vein. what the fuck does 'the earth is screaming' mean? hello that shits terrifying? My theory atm is that its' the realms fighting the merge bc it's like unnatural or something. but idk. i would have liked to hear more about that

Zane's car!!!! I own that set and holy fuck it did not dissapoint! At first i was kinda bummed it didn't do Actual spinjitzu, at least I don't think so. But him spinning wildy and saying 'this is adequate' or whatever, is so freaking funny! also it's super fast and looks epic. no notes lol

and Jay! we see him! I'm not really a big jay fan but I am curious what theyr'e gonna do with him next season

and finally, i Really liked all the references to past seasons/events! Even if it wasn't in your face, it was still really nice to be able to see all the pices of the past sprinkled throughout. It was also funny to see Sora being surprised Lloyd is the FSM's grandson. 10/10

In light of this post I just reblogged, here's why I don't think it's fair to say the Ninjago writers were completely in the wrong for Zane being a victim of ableism in the first 7 episodes of Ninjago (or even at all), as someone with autism who didn't receive an autism diagnosis until the age of 15.

My Experience

So naturally, because I was autistic and nobody knew about it (in fact nobody even suspected it until I was 13), my behavior and people's treatment of me reflected it. Because of this, I wasn't treated how I should've been, and ended up emotionally unstable, which resulted in aggression and anxiety on my end (for clarification, everyone who was on the receiving end of aggressive outbursts of mine agree that had I been diagnosed earlier, things would've gone a lot differently and I likely wouldn't have had those kinds of outbursts. I'm not trying to blame late diagnosis for my aggression or anything, it's something everyone in my life agrees on).

Essentially, because we didn't know I was autistic, it led to ableism from people around me, which led to emotional instability. Because nobody knew what was going on, my emotional instability combined with a habit I had of truancy led to me being sent to a group home when I was 13, which made things worse (but was also the first step to me getting an autism diagnosis because my therapist while I was there was the first person to mention the possibility that I was autistic).

How My Experience Relates To Zane

As we all know, Zane didn't find out he was a nindroid until episode 7, but from the start he's been autistic coded (something we can actually thank Brent Miller for! Without his specific way of voicing Zane, which Brent has mentioned was partially inspired by Data from Star Trek, the Hageman Brothers never would've considered making Zane a robot). From the start (by which I mean since 2012) I've also found Zane relatable.

Zane's experience is pretty similar to mine. Spending your life thinking you're normal (allistic in my case, human in Zane's case) only to find out that's not the case (receiving an autism diagnosis in my case, finding his blueprints and finding out he's a nindroid in Zane's case). In both cases, before finding out why specifically we were different, both me and Zane were treated differently from other people.

In my case, I was teased in school and found it a little hard to make friends because I wasn't "normal". The only kid I actually found I could relate to in school was another kid people saw as weird (who in hindsight was probably autistic). Now that I know more about how my brain works, I'm able to convey that and help people understand my thinking a little easier, so since getting my diagnosis I haven't dealt with as much ableism nor have I struggled as much as I used to. I've only really experienced ableism since this point from people who are actively trying to be dicks.

Similarly, Zane is shown to struggle with fitting in at the start of the series. Kai, Jay, and Cole judge him for being "weird" and discuss it with Wu and there's an entire episode focused on it. Once they find out about Zane being a nindroid, they're able to realize why Zane's behavior was so different, and their perspective on him shifts a lot. Similarly to me, the only time Zane really experiences discrimination is with villains or villainous factions (think the Mechanic, the Dragon Hunters, and Vex) and usually it's in the form of dehumanizing him (the Mechanic seeing him as nothing more than a battery in season 12 and the Dragon Hunters seeing him as nothing but spare parts, for example).

In the case of ableism against autistic people and discrimination targeted at Zane, the goal is usually dehumanization, which is why the parallel works so well (or at least one of the reasons).

The discrimination against Zane isn't there for no reason, and it's not like it doesn't work. It works incredibly well for the specific experience the writers (at the time, the Hageman Brothers) were trying to portray.

Addressing Jokes Made At Zane's Expense

This was one of the complaints I saw on the original post so I figured I might as well bring it up.

Yes, there are jokes made at Zane's expense that specifically center around his nature as a nindroid. Context is important here though. Kai, Cole, and Jay specifically make jokes with the intent of humor when it comes to allies, there's never an intent to inflict harm. They know how far is too far, and I think Kai's teasing towards Jay exemplifies this. If their jokes with Zane were going too far, they'd stop because their goal isn't to hurt each other or tear each other down. It's just to tease each other.

The team making jokes about Zane's habits is no different from someone close to me making a joke about how argumentative I can get about zoology or how I can get hyperfocused to the point of forgetting to eat. It's all in good fun and as long as the subject of the jokes is okay with it, there's no harm in making jokes about someone's habits, even if those habits are born from something like autism. That is the nature of Kai, Cole, and Jay's teasing; lighthearted jabs at habits born from Zane's nature as a nindroid.

Addressing The Lego Ninjago Movie Because Apparently People Still Complain About It In The Year Of Our Lord 2023

In the movie Zane is just trying way too fucking hard to fit in. It's not necessarily that Zane is making being a robot 90% of his personality; if anything, denying he's a robot is 90% of his personality because he's trying to fit in and people are constantly questioning his humanity. It's like an exaggerated version of what I've seen autistic people experience online (being forced to defend themselves because we're dehumanized to the nth degree). The fact that I even have to say that in 2023 is ... SOMETHING.

During the year, he tried to prevent natural earthquakes and landslides.

alright let's start

Morro's older than the green sibs and the green sibs are teens for exact ages I haven't figured that out yet.

so Ninja are around but none know each other (except nya and kai obviously) and they lead factions as they try to not die to Garmadon, he as usual doesn't care for them and just wants them out of the picture. None of them were taught how to use their elemental powers to they're all very destructive when they do, they've all learned of them but none know how to control them that well.

All the previous elemental masters were hunted down and killed. Rip them. so none of them know their parents/ have mentors. Jay has a very hazy memory of his parents leaving him with his grandparents (which he just calls ma and pa (ed and edna)) Kai remember's their faces but not much else, nya like Jay has a very hazy version that gets blended with Kai a lot, Cole remembers his mom (he has his dad...for now) and his dad tells him about her when he can, Zane doesn't remember his Dad as per usual.

So back to the factions they don't get along with each other, all preferring different things and not trusting each other. They may be young (young adults maybe) but they lead and make all the big decisions, keep rations and other stuff like that. There are other fractions too like Chen probably has one and other random people plus other's I'm probably just forgetting about right now.

so the ninja since they run into each other a lot, have bands that tell each person whose faction they're from ya know red, black, blue, and white. Nya's are with Kai, the two lead together.

Yes they're trying to defeat Garmadon but not heavily, like the ninja have never known a time without him, so while they want him gone they don't really know if that's possible. or I"ve just not given them enough thought yet. feel free to give any suggestions you have!

Garm would never it was a mix of Anger (things not going his way) the venom and the overlord that caused him to hurt lloyd, and like the split second after it happened garm was back in his senses and wanted desperately to help his son but Lloyd had ran off already.

so the g.d hasn't been released yet, none of the serpentine have, that'll change soon though, but yeah it hasn't been released yet, her parents are dead, they died in one of garm's attacks as he tried to kill the rebels. Or just people that get on his nerves.

And then he saw a child, a little girl all on her own, so Garm (cause he's still a softy) took her in, her being young just kinda went with it she didn't realize that Garm cause her parents to die, till later, she's not sure how she feels on this, while she loves and cares for garm he also killed her parents, so she has mixed feelings. but she also just likes to blame the venom for her parents deaths.

ok ok so when they learn if they lean before they cure him, they're not gonna like it, but no Morro wont go villain, why would he? he's never been told he was going to be the legendary green ninja so he's just like "Wait you mean to tell me that he has to fight his Dad?" he's as appalled as lloyd is to it, Lloyd very much just refuses to be the green ninja. Harumi's just worried why would lloyd have to kill their dad? He'd never their dad was nice!

Yes Morro's mostly refers to Wu as Dad sensei or master why talking about how he trained him and stuff like that. but mostly he just calls him Dad. And Yes Lloyd and harumi see Morro as their cool older cousin/brother, but hate it when he tells them stuff like "don't kill them!" or "no you are not allowed to maim them!" afhlksj Morro's the only one of the three to have morals and he's trying to teach the other two.

One With The Earth Am I

Cole hated ambushes.

They were sudden, effective, and always used by either them or against them. The sheer fact he was being attacked in the same way he had attacked many others before, as a ninja himself, was just frustrating and something he just generally hated.

And guess what? It had just happened yet again.

Why can't they have a peaceful patrol for once?

The enemy wasn't just one, or two, or 5 if you wanted to make things even. No, it was a whole group of people of about 15 warriors minimum. He wasn't keeping count, nor had he count when the ambush happened as he was getting attacked and almost immobilized and he hated it. He hated the feeling of being immobilized and under someone else's will ever since the hypnobrai incident of their early years as a team of barely 4 guys.

Luckily for him, though, the area they had been ambushed in on had many resources he could use at his will, his elemental powers being something he had not used this much in so long. The simple reason behind this was that it was more effective to fight off the enemy with controlling the ground below them, something he did with much frequency.

So much so he got lost in it.

He had defeated many enemies who had tried attacking him and ending with his life, apparently, but had forgotten to check on his teammates and see how they were doing. Needless to say that they wrote not doing well. Not doing well at all, because as he turned around to celebrate for this victory of his, he was waiting to see everybody else in a similar situation as his, but instead was greeted with something that caused him to feel an anger- a fury he hadn't felt for years already.

Infront of his eyes he beheld a sight he never wanted to ever behold. Infront of his eyes he was witnessing how his teammates were all, if not at least the majority of them, were tied up and beaten up over and over again. Some of them were unconscious already, while others were attempting to escape and only got more beatings in return.

Cole's never felt this angry.

Almost immediately did he summon his lava arms and started attacking, doing all that he managed and all that he could think of as to give them a taste of what they had been doing to his friends. No one messes with them. No one even dares as to think to hurt them to this extent, even less when he is around. He will not let them get hurt. He will never let them get hurt-

And then it's all gone.

It all feels... muffled. Yeah, that's the best word for it. Muffled. All of his senses- his feelings felt muffled and disconnected from himself, but also they didn't? It felt like being underwater and trying to act as if you weren't, but it also felt so much more thicker and like it wasn't as easy to get rid of as water was.

Was it lava? When did he get covered in lava? He should be able to remember that. And everything is also so..calm. It almost feels like he's covered in a blanket so soft he doesn't want to leave no matter how hot it gets, and this level of calmness can only ever be compared with what he felt when his father would put calmer jazz instead of the upbeat he always had when practicing or teaching. It always helped him calm down.

He felt as if something- someone was talking to him. He couldn't find it. He couldn't see with clarity, only vague forms of what was around him, all blurred and difficult to distinguish from each other.

But then he saw them.

He saw them so clearly. Nya's dark hair up in a ponytail as she freed everybody else. Jay's freckles all across his body that were able to be seen due to the multiple ruptures in his gi and the fact he had his mask off. Kai's uniquely red gi that always had a hint of pink to it and always found a way to be the shiniest thing around. Zane's gentle, robotic cyan eyes as he helped Nya with freeing everybody. Lloyd's self that seemed to all glow in it of itself.

And they were all okay.

Slowly, he managed to understand some words of what they were saying as the world around him started clearing up- like a fog dissipating that had covered him all over. He felt a relief he hadn't felt in a while now, and also felt an overwhelming exhaustion all take over himself and his body. He heard his name being called out for, and saw how his friends all came around to help him even with their own injuries. And he felt fine.

And then he passed out.
