I've been thinking a lot about ChatGPT lately and how humans are really good at finding patterns to the point that we find them in places they dont exist. Like the phenomenon where anything abstract has the possibility of being interpreted as a face.
Anyway, we see what machines do and matter in -> black box -> matter out. And like for programs and printers and automated systems and shit that can be fine for working knowledge. Like someone out there knows precisely how the self checkout works but all I need to know is that the scanner works and that it accepts debit.
But we conflate that with our existence. People are not machines. The point of writing a Great Gatsby essay in high school wasn't because the essay mattered. The end result wasn't the point. The point was the black box. The synthesis, the analyzing text and interpretation of quotes that taught you stuff like media analysis and checked reading comprehension. Everything that happened from the time you got the rubric to the final submission of that paper mattered. The essay itself is like... vaguely consequential. There are hundreds of thousands of not millions of Great Gatsby essays, nobody was clammoring for more, particularly not 9th grade English teachers.
The point is the black box, the point is the *doing*. And you see we do that weird optimization everywhere, it's not even new! AI just made a new dimension. Make dinner faster, monetize your hobbies, write this quicker, lose weight at mach 1, don't you want Alexa to read bedtime stories to your kid!?
I know it's all capitalism and whatever in a trenchcoat but sometimes it really has me wondering, what am I alive for? And the answer so often is "the black box".
Like doing silly voices while reading to make my family laugh or pouring over a dictionary while writing or smelling onions caramelize. Stories From Ylelmore in and of itself is a middle finger to story optimization omg, how many convos in there are so strictly unnecessary to the plot?? Because in Ylelmore the plot doesn't matter! The point is making the journey as fun as possible!! Having a stupid 5 minutes argument about whether fish drown? Sure, why not?! We have the time!!
Just a few years ago I used to lament having to *sleep* and all the productivity I was missing out on! And why? For what? What was there to be productive about?

hyunlix as parents if your request are open
Hi okay, technically, my requests were shut at the time you requested this but I cannot resist dude. I wrote this with poly hyunlix in mind but if anyone wants to request skz as parents headcanons please flood my inbox, I love this concept so so so so so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🧡✨angel baby~ hyunlix as parents
*~alexa play sunflower, vol 6 ~*
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ they parent best as a duo. no offense, but sometimes they lack common sense singular, but plural they are the best parents to ever exist
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ felix is fluffiest to his child, it's fact. he will be smug and tease you about how much you like him then put on the cutest baby voice ever when your daughter crawls past
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ their parenting style is like night and day, felix is the typical fun dad and hyunjin is the gentle dad who is severely one-eyed, he just likes knowing his angel is the prettiest in the world according to him
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ they aren't the type to be on parentok or anything but that doesn't prevent them from letting the other members know how much the parenting lifestyle has changed them
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ mommy hyunjin is a thing, he literally gave himself that job. he absolutely loves waking up through the night to her soft mewls and whiny cries. when they stop their crying and look up at him he realises just how much he loves her
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ his favourite nights are when you and felix are cuddling in bed and it's just him, the crickets, the faint buzz of the tv and his daughter
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ however, hyunjin expects fathers day gifts as compensation for his top tier parenting skills even when your baby is... well, a baby. he just forces you and felix to buy him gifts while he pretends it's from her
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ your daughter is hyunjin's twin in personality. when she's six hyunjin would have monthly "dates" where he takes her to get her nails done and gossip over a hot chocolate
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ felix needed some time to adjust to having someone else between the three of you but he really knows how to be a good parent. his family raised him well. even if he is the fun dad 80% of the time he is still very protective
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗seriously don't make his kid cry he will get his payback
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ all of you try to be as domestic as possible, having parent time together and finding new shared hobbies, having some adult alone time when you track down changbin to babysit and more. But this never really works, your life is just too chaotic
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ you never completely get along with each other, a good example of this was your daughter crying for daddy's paints and other daddy just tossed them to her which resulted in mommy daddy hyunjin losing his good paints and brushes
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ and whether he realises it or not hyunjin is a bad influence on his kid, she adopts his dramatic nature and his sass, she sides with him in any playful argument you have and he does the same for her. and sometimes, just sometimes, this frustrates the hell out of felix
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ but don't worry you can't spell family without all of you rubbing off on her personality
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ when your kid is grown don't expect hyunjin to ever take her to kindergarten, he won't. but on the days he is bullied into it he shows up like a typical starbucks mom: sunglasses onnnn, americano in his hand and gossiping with the other parents
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ with the amount of photos these guys take their phone space is non-existent, your child takes up their heart and their storage.
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ they're also the type to shove their phone in you face because "oh my god look at her!"
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗felix is the king of reading bedtime stories, you and hyunjin fall asleep before your daughter
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗all of you are still children at heart so you end up enjoying dress up or playtime more than your daughter
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗weekend baking is a must for felix, you used to enjoy that until he traded baking partners, he doesn't even let you and hyunjin step foot in the kitchen. it's his time with her
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ okay but like the cutest thing ever is when you all dance in the living room together and hyunjin invites your daughter to dance and she just stands on his feet and holds onto his hands as he sways with her...i'm devastated
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ they won't rest until they have at least three more kids

Part 5
Tumblr media
Andre was ready to shoot his shot! And thankfully for him, Alexa had agreed to a date!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Andre got them some food, the benevolent god was pretty sure Alexa was talking up another sim...
Tumblr media
Andre made sure all her attention was on him and his awesomely impressive muscles!
Tumblr media
Oh, hey, Matilda! How are you and Teo doing? Are the kids alright?
Tumblr media
The date got awkward real fast when some random old guy butted in to the conversation.
Tumblr media
Merriweather had also come along to secretly chaperone. Not that there was much need of that, since Alexa had left...
Tumblr media
Most of the date was Andre chasing Alexa around while she tried to talk to other people. Pretty awkward overall.
Tumblr media
Back home, Sun was busy chasing herself around!
Tumblr media
HEY!! I just got those new couches! Staaaahp!
Tumblr media
Moon was probably acting out because Andre was ignoring her in favor of his little brother.
Tumblr media
Every spare second Andre had went to giving his little brother some wonderful toddler memories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The parents could've taken over the toddlercare just fine, but Andre insisted!
Tumblr media
Awwww Tyrone is so cute!!
Tumblr media
But not cute enough to dampen Moon's desire for affection.
Tumblr media
This would show them!!! Bwahahahaha!!!
Tumblr media
Unfortunately for Moon, the only attention she got was a lecture about scratching, and the gaze of an uncaring toddler.
Tumblr media
Luckily for Moon, it was time for Tyrone to go to bed! Once Andre finished the bedtime story, there would be no more distractions.
Tumblr media
But! Andre had another brother! And he wanted to make sure they had some great memories too. No one could make Ellis laugh like Andre did.
Tumblr media
Though sometimes Andre's shenanigans just got on Ellis' nerves.
Tumblr media
Like, come one! What was he doing?!
Tumblr media
When he wasn't hanging out with Andre, the broody bad boy continued honing his gemology skills.
Tumblr media
Finally, he had some success!
Tumblr media
Not exactly his style, but it would do until he could make better options.

AI Works Perfectly and We All Die in the End
Horror films frequently explore themes of technological horror. That technological advancements doom humankind to terror and extinsion. We see these themes in so many films. M3GAN is one such film. The android, M3GAN, is equipped with artificial intelligence, allowing it to learn and evolve. It appears at first, that this is another case of ‘AI becomes sentient and immediately turns to violence’. However, that’s not quite accurate.
M3GAN is a 4-foot android that was created to be a prototype of a new line of children’s toys. The great benefit of gifting your child a M3GAN is that the android will do all the ‘dirty work’ of parenting. M3GAN will remind your child to wash their hands, read bedtime stories, entertain your child, educate your child, and more. It frees the parent up to do much more important stuff. This mirrors much of the marketing around AI in our world. Alexa saves you so much time by taking care of all those pesky domestic chores that come with living. AI can write your papers, create art, manage your house, and drive your car. Technology companies promise that these technological advances will give you more free time, but we know that isn’t true. Technology, especially AI has minimal positive implications for the working class. Its real benefit is for the capitalist who continue to demand more from labours around the globe. M3GAN is no different. The doll doesn’t benefit parents as the film shows. It alienates children and parents obstructing meaningful human connections. In discussions about AI, it’s important to remember that this is a feature and not a bug. AI works perfectly and we all die in the end.
Resisting technological advancements is not a viable solution. The technology is here and it will continue to advance at increasingly rapid rates. What our fear about AI shows is that we consciously or subconsciously recognize the system is flawed and AI exposes those flaws in vivid details. The horrors of AI are here and it is not robots shooting lasers. AI is already used by the government and various social services. What happens is AI does exactly what it is supposed to and working class people lose access to the social benefits they need to survive. We understand that certain people are privileged in the current system. Incorporating AI into an unfair system means that inequality will be perpetuated. When AI is used to flag fraud in health insurance claims, identify child abuse cases, or determine housing eligiblity, marginalized individuals suffer. We see this in practices like redlining. AI only realistically benefits the privileged.
In the film, Cady, the 9-year-old child who is paired with M3GAN, represents the privileged who benefit from AI. It doesn’t matter that M3GAN killed the neighbor lady, because the android was protecting Cady. In the same way, it doesn’t matter that automation and AI disproprotionately flag poorer individuals for fraud, because wealthy investors are protected. This is the real horror of AI, it works perfectly and we all die in the end.
The fear we feel towards AI comes from knowing that, for most of us, we do not have the level of privilege that insulates us from this system. In the way that a wood chipper doesn’t care about a human body, AI doesn’t care about you. It will never make exceptions for you, it will never offer you the benefit of the doubt. It will flag you for fraud, restrict your access to social safety nets, identify you as an unfit parent, and limit your ability to access loans and funding. We know that most of us are not Cady, we are the neighbor lady.
AI works perfectly and we still die in the end. This says more about the system we exist in than the technology we create. We can’t stop these advances. AI can be used as a tool to help all people, but only if we deliberately acknowledge the systems of privilege and oppression that exist. Our great fear is not AI, it is the system that allows for certain individuals to benefit at the great expense of others.

Alien Storytime (From Another World Pt.2) 👩🏿💚👨👽
Tumblr media
Alien Jake "Hangman" Seresin X Alexa (Black Female Reader)
Warning: Just Fluff, Kids Being kids, Jake Being In Love, Alien Stuff, And That It....
It's been 3 or 4 years that you found and met Jake when that jet crashed in your garden that night, however even though at first you was hesitant because he is a alien with beautiful human features and you didn't believe that aliens didn't exist till now but once y'all getting to know each other little by little. You are starting to fall in love with him. So now, years later, Jake is still in the navy, y'all have already gotten married and have two children together....
So one day, while you spending time with the kids at the park playing around, one of them ask you can tell a storytime but you told your child to wait later because you don't want people look at you like you crazy if you telling them where their dad is coming from.
So later on that night, after the kids are tucked in for bed, now it's okay for you to tell them a bedtime story that how you & Jake met for the first time....
Alexa's Narrative The Story:
"Okay so what a upon a time, that night in Texas, a young woman who live by herself and just relaxing with a beautiful garden of her in her grandfather's ranch then all of sudden a giant light ball came from the sky crashing down onto the garden in a large explosion so she got up, went outside to check it out what going on, so she called out and no one responded till a someone moan."
"Then what happening mommy?" The child asked
"Then, she ran to the hole and she slipped inside, and met a sight that a man was wrapped up like a ball, holding himself together while he continued to groan and whimper in pain but it's make her heart skip a beat in worry. As she went closer look, and she knelt down besides him that a hint of fear of her beating heart that she called him making sure he okay and then all a sudden he jump out and crawled backwards, then he asked to the young woman where he is and she told him that we on earth and also she told him that he in Texas, and he responded that he from a another planet that not earth. So she took him in, and they started to have a conversation about where he from, and they made a deal that if he fixed her garden up, she would help him to get home.
So as the weeks go by little by little, the woman & the alien are getting to know each other, understanding about their lives, she showing him how to live on earth, showing him good food, having fun but also know how to drive too as well, the more they spending time, the more they starting to fall in love with each other because they enjoying their company.
So later on that night, the woman & the alien are laying down in the garden (where they like to enjoyed their free time at), while they enjoying spending time together watching the stars, she feel like she knows that she get back to the navy because her vacation is about to be over soon and he have to go back to his world but the alien's mind made up that he want to stay on earth because of the woman he fell so in love with showing him some things that he never seen before. So after all the brief arguments of back & forth, the alien said those three words: I love you. And that made the young woman's heart skip a beat the way he said it to her with the nervousness he had in his body. Then she ran into his arms and embraced him. And they finally kiss. So they went to the navy together and yes he got to become a pilot and they live happily ever after.
After Alexa tells the story, both of the kids are asleep now, but it's didn't hit you that the children she told the story to was your's & Jake's kids. Y'all have a boy & a girl, both of them are light-skinned, they are half alien, and yes, they have green eyes (which they glow in the dark, just like their father's). So afterward, you went to the living room and revealed that Jake was sitting down on the couch waiting for her.....
"Hi," you smiled at him
"Hi, my sweet, pretty girl," he responded while he smiled towards her
"So how your day with the kids though while I'm at work?" He asked
"Our day was good, but I did tell them a story, though."
"Really, what kind of story are you telling them tonight?" He curious to know
"Ohh, I'm just telling them that how mommy & daddy how we met." She said with a little smirk.
"Well, I'm glad I didn't regret staying on earth and spending the rest of my life with you, my darlin'." He smiling at her.
Tumblr media

Also it turns out that coordinating kegels while speaking conversationally, vs coordinating kegels while walking and singing, vs coordinating kegels while sitting & only my toes can reach the floor, and I am reading a (chapter of Warrior Cats as a) bedtime goodnight story out loud,
Are wildly different levels of intensity
As I was reading the last few sentences of the chapter, I was actually thinking “oh, this was a workout; I don’t think I could read even one more page; I am exhausted” IT REALLY CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD
/absolutely delighted happy giddy inhale smile/ But it was totally worth it because my boy actually feLL ASLEEP HOLDING MY HAND AND IT WAS SO SO SWEET!! Normally when he has book (it’s an audiobook, and) he nods off but then he gets roused and awake again when book stops. But he was just coMPLETELY OUT WHEN I LOOKED OVER AFTER FINISHING THE CHAPTER, I WAS LIKE “YES I’M SO GLAD, HE’LL GET GOOD SLEEP” and I did the most careful gentle slow wiggle out of his hand as possible and then gave the most quiet command to his Alexa to play the album he always listens to when asleep (I actually had to try 3 times I was being so quiet)
/ecstatic loving vibrates/ AAA I love him so much
It was a really nice end to the visit today, too; since he knows I won’t be able to go over and visit him for probably a full month (I have to be extremely careful to not catch anything/limit my exposure to allergies in the 2 weeks before my surgery — Sun knows, the current political climate means I can take NO chances with anything that might cause rescheduling; since I might not … be able to? — and then for at least 2 weeks after surgery I’ll have really limited mobility and just generally have to emphasize recovery as much as possible). All in all it was just very sweet!

"Don't you know? All good stories start with 'once upon a time', and they end with 'happily ever after'." harper and henry
the moon hangs high outside the window, casting its pale light into the bedroom where henry & harper are tucked snugly beneath their blankets. the twins lie on either side of sam, their wings lightly tucked behind them, resting as they wait excitedly for their nightly bedtime story.
but tonight, miguel is there too, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed, grinning at the sight of his family. he can hear ethan, robby & tory nearby, cleaning up the kitchen after their dessert fest. the alexa is playing a gentle tune, which started to make henry & harper relax slightly. he pushes off the frame, walking over to the bed & sitting beside sam, close enough to the twins.
“alright,” miguel says, rubbing his hands together dramatically, “who’s ready for a story?”
“me!” henry shouts, his small wings flapping wildly as he grins eagerly. “i want a story about a warrior!”
“& magic!” harper adds, bouncing excitedly. “like mommy!”
miguel grins at her excitement. he nods, settling in as the twins’ eager eyes lock onto him. “magic, huh? well, lucky for you, i can make any story magical,” he says, ruffling harper’s hair with a playful wink.
@taughtmercy chimes in. “don’t you know?” she asks. “all good stories start with ‘once upon a time’… & they end with ‘happily ever after.’”
henry & harper exchange wide-eyed glances, already hooked.
miguel winks at sam, then turns back to the twins. “once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there were two brave heroes: a fierce warrior & a clever sorceress.”
“that’s us!” harper gasps, eyes sparkling.
“exactly,” miguel confirms with a smile. “the warrior was strong & fast, & no one on earth could match his skills or his dedication. he trained every day with his dad, & he always fought to protect those he loves.”
henry sits up straighter, his eyes gleaming with excitement. his wings twitch slightly, as though he can already feel himself stepping into the warrior’s shoes. “just like me?” he asks, his voice hopeful.
“just like you,” miguel echoes, his grin widening. “he had a big heart & always wanted to be like the heroes he admired most—but especially his dad, one of the kings of their fair land.”
henry puffs up his chest, imagining himself as the warrior miguel describes. his mind wanders to the countless times he’s watched his dada, his dad, & his papa train at miyagi-do, separately, together, & then with all of his uncles & aunts too, memorizing every kick, every stance. he’s going to be just like that one day, he just knows it.
miguel continues, watching henry’s proud expression with affection written all over his face, in his posture & eyes, before turning to harper. “& then there was the sorceress. she was smart & quick, & her magic was more powerful than anyone could imagine. she didn’t just use it for protecting those she loves; she uses it to help people. to make things better for everyone around her.”
harper’s wings flutter slightly at the mention of magic. her head tilts up toward sam, her eyes wide. “like mommy?” she whispers, her pupils momentarily flickering gold as she thinks about being exactly like her. the way their daughter is looking up at his fiancée, hoping that the sorceress in the story is just like her? it makes miguel’s heart melt into a warm, gooey mess, his body warm all over with pure affection, the love he holds for his children obvious. he firmly believes that harper already is just like sam in so many ways, both big & small, noticeable & unnoticeable.

what if i just stole the entirety of the land of elyon and replaced the obvious religious indoctrination, 'elyon loves and has a plan for all of us' bs with alexa winging it, not doing what elyon told her to, and making it out the other side anyway. (gets super ranty under the cut)
like, she's not really a strong protag because she's just doing what's asked of her, making basically no choices for herself. not to mention the only women in the series barely exist? like the most interesting non-mc girl was onion skin doll girl imo. and alexa just blindly listens to the men? everything is set up by a male figure, and the whole thing with it being implied she starts crushing on marco by the end of stargazer. fucking mid. let her be strong on her own without the implication she'll eventually find marginally better happiness in a nuclear family unit. hell, make her gay. but it's a pretty religious book series that started off as an religious bedtime story serial for the author's kids, soooo...
still so mad that i live in the same state as patrick carman, bro wrote some of the most mid kids' book i just had to get obsessed with every few months like a fucking 2 week minecraft bender but worse (princess ponies benders never make me this mad)
every once in a while i'll look back and go "damn, pervis kotcher was an unfortunate name." still my favorite character tho, dc that he was a dick to the mc in book 1, we should've gotten more of him. sometimes i'll read these again just to re-affix his characterization in my mind lol

How Alexa Enhances Education for Kids?
Tumblr media
Alexa in educational technology
Screen Time Reduction
Amazon A new era of technology is being ushered in by Alexa. One in which parents, teachers, and students can interact with technology through voice commands, enhancing learning, saving time, and giving access to vital information. Without ever opening their computers, students can use Alexa to schedule meetings with guidance counselors, obtain study materials, and keep track of upcoming events on their calendars.
Instructors can use Alexa to get ready for a lesson, and administrators can use it to get vital data like enrollment figures quickly.
Alexa in higher education
College students naturally use voice technology to communicate with instructors, the campus, and educational resources. By using Alexa to make it easier for them to find information, stay organized, and participate on campus, students all over the world are getting more out of their educational experience.
Alexa for learning companies and EdTechs
Alexa facilitates user engagement, expands the reach of EdTechs and learning companies, and enhances student learning. EdTechs are utilizing Alexa to improve user experience in a variety of ways, from assisting administrators and faculty in accessing critical data to developing a fresh method for students to review important ideas.
Using Alexa for the first time
You can use a variety of techniques to develop captivating Alexa experiences for your EdTech product or campus. From basic skill development to Alexa-enabled devices in common areas.
While at Lancaster University Alexa Picks Up New Skills
Alexa is being used by Lancaster University in the UK to help students get around campus and in their academic careers. They recently added Ask L.U., an Alexa skill that lets students check grades, schedule a free library pod, and get campus news by speaking. Discover how Alexa is improving on-campus and off-campus student life.
Education for Kids
While you may be familiar with iPad kids, are you familiar with Alexa kids? According to Amazon, households with children under the age of eight interact with Alexa twice as frequently as other users.
Impact on Learning
Music requests have increased 15% in the past year, mostly for children’s music. Roll on, Johnny Johnny, wheels on the bus Kids’ favorite songs include Yes Papa, Lakdi Ki Kathi, Baby Shark, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Folk talkies appear to be of interest to Alexa users as well. Stories by Akbar Birbal, Tenali Raman, Panchatantra, and others are highly well-known, particularly in Hindi. According to Amazon, Alexa users request these stories on average 34 times every hour.
“We regularly hear from parents about how Alexa has aided them in their role as parents. The ability to use basic voice commands to access a variety of helpful kid-friendly experiences makes Alexa a compelling addition for a small family. Although Alexa is a fantastic educational and entertainment tool for children, parents can also use it to help manage their own lives. “Alexa’s right there to help them, whether it’s asking for a bedtime story as part of their child’s daily routine or controlling smart home appliances with voice while juggling numerous tasks,” stated Dilip R S, Director and Country Manager for Alexa, Amazon India, in a press release.
According to a study done for Amazon by Kantar, children’s screen time has decreased and their learning has improved thanks to Alexa. Ninety-five percent of parents who actively used Alexa smart speakers at home concurred that having Alexa there helps their children interact with screens less and that it serves as a companion. Up to 90% of them said Alexa assisted their children in developing their independence, learning new skills, and maintaining mental activity.
Although children may be the target audience for Amazon’s marketing of Alexa, using the voice assistant is not always beneficial for them. The gadget may impede children’s development and normalize monitoring of them, according to a 2018 The Intercept article that cited critics and pediatricians among others. Thus, if you intend to allow your kids to use Alexa or a comparable device, be sure you are comfortable with the risks by doing your own research.
Learning Tools
Parents want their children to learn skills like speaking English (50%), having good morals and manners (45%), engaging in performing arts (such as dancing, singing, and playing an instrument) (36%), arts and crafts (32%), and engaging in physical and outdoor activities (32%), in order to help them make the most of their summer vacation. A majority of 66% expressed interest in purchasing a voice-activated smart speaker that can foster abilities such as curiosity, focus, and enhanced communication.
How to Benefit from Alexa Smart Speakers
Users of Alexa smart speakers made up a portion of the survey respondents. More than 95% of parents have reported that Alexa has reduced screen time and grown to be a true companion for their child.
Child Development: Why is the sky blue, Alexa?
Alexa helps keep kids engaged, enhance communication skills, and satisfy their curiosity about learning new things by providing them with a plethora of interactive games, music, trivia, and educational features. Parents frequently ask Alexa questions like, “Alexa, tell me a bedtime story,” “Alexa, what is the spelling of dinosaurs,” “Alexa, why is the sky blue?”, “Open Wild Planet,” and more.
Parents with young children have found Alexa to be an invaluable resource. Alexa is a fantastic source of entertainment and education, offering everything from interactive games and stories about Akbar and Birbal to questions about science, history, and general knowledge as well as word definitions. It should come as no surprise that children’s tunes like Baby Shark, Chandaniya, and Twinkle Twinkle dominate the list of the top five songs that users ask Alexa to play, according to Parag Gupta, Director and Country Manager for Amazon Devices India.

OpenAI’s Expansion of ChatGPT: Internet Browsing, DALL-E 3 Integration, and More
Tumblr media
OpenAI has officially launched the internet-browsing feature for ChatGPT, a popular generative AI chatbot. This comes three weeks after the feature’s beta re-introduction, following a hiatus of several months. Historically, ChatGPT has been limited to data up to September 2021, making it unsuitable as a real-time search engine. The integration of internet services in March posed challenges due to the uncurated nature of the live web, risking misuse by bad actors and algorithmic chaos.
Search via Bing
Initially, web search via Bing was rolled out in May, extending to the ChatGPT mobile app in June. However, the feature was temporarily withdrawn after issues arose, including the display of paywalled content. OpenAI resumed the “Browse with Bing” feature in late September, assuring fine-tuned adherence to content owners’ instructions, particularly following Robots.txt files.
As of now, “Browse with Bing” is officially available to all Plus and Enterprise subscribers without the need to toggle their beta switch in settings, marking a significant leap forward in ChatGPT’s capabilities.
DALL-3 Beta
In a related development, OpenAI introduced DALL-E 3 into beta, a month after unveiling the latest version of the text-to-image generator. DALL-E 3 is seamlessly integrated with ChatGPT, alleviating the need for users to meticulously craft text prompts. With ChatGPT handling much of the heavy lifting, users can expect images generated by DALL-E 3 to closely align with their intentions.
Moreover, DALL-E 3 is now embedded directly into ChatGPT, allowing users to receive images as part of their text-based queries without switching between the two applications. Beta access is available on both web and mobile platforms by selecting “DALL-E 3 (Beta)” from the GPT-4 tab inside ChatGPT.
How to Use DALL.E 3 – Top Tips for Best Results

Transition into a versatile tool
This expansion represents a significant shift for ChatGPT from a purely text-based generator to a versatile tool encompassing audio and imagery. Last month, OpenAI introduced verbal interaction capabilities, enabling users to engage in spoken conversations with ChatGPT. Users can ask the chatbot to invent and narrate bedtime stories, bridging the worlds of Alexa-style voice assistants with powerful large language models.
Furthermore, ChatGPT now supports image-based searches, allowing users to upload pictures and discover information about objects or find similar items. OpenAI’s overarching goal is to transform ChatGPT into a fully integrated, real-time, multimedia generative search engine, providing users with a comprehensive and dynamic experience.
Staying at the forefront
This broad expansion strategy underlines OpenAI’s commitment to staying at the forefront of AI innovation. The integration of real-time web browsing, DALL-E 3, and other multimedia features underscores the organization’s drive to provide users with a multifaceted and powerful tool that adapts to their diverse needs.
With these latest updates, OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of AI capabilities and demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the utility and versatility of ChatGPT, which is now evolving from a mere text-based chatbot into a holistic, multimedia knowledge and creativity assistant. As technology advances, it will be fascinating to see how users harness these capabilities to address their various needs and tasks. OpenAI’s journey toward integrating artificial intelligence with human creativity and knowledge exploration is indeed an exciting one, and the future promises even more transformative developments in this field.
