Happy anniversary to one of the best and underrated Batman creation ever 🦇

20 years ago today, the television series ‘The Batman’ premiered on Kids' WB.

After the tv show ‘Batman Beyond' stopped airing in 2001, Kevin Conroy's Batman joined Superman, Wonder Woman and other DC members in the DCAU cartoon series 'Justice League', which aired from November 2001 to May 2004. On September 11, 2004, a new Batman centric animated show aired called 'The Batman', created by Michael Goguen and Duane Capizzi. 'The Batman' follows Bruce Wayne (voiced by Rino Romano) in his apparent third year of being Batman in Gotham City, juggling between fighting colorful villains such as The Joker and Penguin and being a playboy billionaire in his early 20s.

Not set within the classic DC Animated Universe created by Eric Radomski, Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett and others, 'The Batman' featured character designs by Japanese-American concept artist Jeff Matsuda. While keeping the same values the Caped Crusader, his allies and infamous rogues gallery sustained over several decades, Matsuda gave a sleek re-design that still presented a mysterious crime drama for a younger audience to appreciate. However much criticism given to the show for its “kiddish” portrayal of this favored dark mythos, radically different from Radomski and Timm's film noir take a decade prior, 'The Batman' lasted for five seasons (aired from late 2004 to March 2008), had a successful toy line, and is part of the Dark Knight animated tv history.🦇📺

After literally years, I have at long last read the final Volume of the Batigirl Rebirth series. This Joker War tie in wasn't what I expected, but it was still interesting. Barbara definitely has a different perspective on things compared to the other members of the bat family. It was also nice to have answer about why her father isn't Commissioner anymore (forgot about what The Batman Who Laughs did).

This was a good finale to this Batgirl series, I loved that she, Steph, Cassandra, Dinah, and Helena have a DnD campaign going. I would read a series that focuses on that.

Stephanie Brown for the headcanons thing.

1. Stephanie Brown has injured most of the rest of of the Batfamily, either by accident or not. Everybody knows she hit Tim with a brick and she punched Bruce in the face, but she’s also slapped Dick, accidentally hit Damian with a car, kneed Jason in the groin, bit Duke, stepped on Cass’s toes, headbutted Babs and kicked Selina in the ass before running away. The only member she hasn’t injured or attacked is Alfred. Because Alfred.

2. One time, when she and Bruce were riding in the Batmobile during her time as Robin, they passed a car that was blaring Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Of all the things Stephanie ever thought would happen, an impromptu Bon Jovi sing-along with Batman wasn’t even ON that list, but there you have it.

3. Stephanie worked for Tony Stark as extra security for a summer, at Bruce’s request. It was good money, and he was actually a lot nicer than Bruce, and she got to flirt shamelessly with Captain America. Which…if there was ever a time to use the phrase “winner winner chicken dinner” that would be it.

I can tell you one thing... none of you are Barbara Gordon fans because if you were you would be appalled how Barbara Gordon is treated and would actually care about ableism.

Um okay I have no idea where this coming from but this is sounding like you're trying to gatekeeping to say I'm not a fan of a character cause of not caring about certain aspects of them which is childish and immature. Barbara is Barbara no matter what. I like her as Oracle as much as I do with her being Batigrl. I'm just still very much new to the comics side. I have just known her longer with Batigirl is all, with the DCAU and a bit with her disability through YJ. I'm no way in denying any part of what makes her Barbara, I just don't like how some of the fanbase views her sometimes cause of petty reasons. I try to find people who likes Barbara all around. Also-not that you don't need to know but I'm a bit disabled myself- though more of the learning disability- so don't tell me that I don't care about Barbara's well being. Cause depending on whom has her in their hands of being written, of course I care, along with any of my other favorite characters. But then again sometimes if some parts of canon is really bad then I just ingore it and enjoy the fanon side it's that simple. So don't you say things like this to me who you know nothing about me and what I want to like is not how to approach to someone to talk to about subjects like this. I know these topics can be very sensitive to some people and why I enjoy things to my own suspense instead of getting worked up something that I can't control. But that's just me. 🤷‍♀️
