I loved that they used Batfleck as the model for the most recent Batman arc. Fit perfectly with the tone of the story!

I someone complaining that someone described fighting Batman as like "fighting a brick wall", because fighting SUPERMAN should be like fighting a brick wall -- like Superman has to roll with punches or else people will break their hands when they hit him. Then they said fighting Batman should be like "fighting a shadow", more agility than pure strength like Superman, and he can't tank hits forever because he's ultimately still human.
This was commentary on The Batman 2004 btw, where Bruce's fighting style is more about being fast and not getting hit than tanking hits.
One of the things I love about all of the different Batman iterations on the live screen has been the different fighting styles and types of agility. There’s a guy over on tiktok who demonstrates the styles of Affleck, Bale and Battinson and shows how they’re slightly different. It’s fascinating.
I think what also plays into how Batman fights is the type of fights he’s getting into. Batfleck had to be be a big brawling wall of a man, because he was meant to hit and be hit. Arkham Batman is kind of in the same boat.
Meanwhile, Battinson and Bale are a little more agile, and add in more flips and complicated hits as their fights tended to be more unpredictable in terms of both scale and location.
Personally, I think Bruce goes through several iterations of fighting styles throughout his career. Because you have to change things up as you get older. Hell still train, he’ll still be inhumanly flexible and fast, but he’s not flipping around light Nightwing when he’s carrying almost as much muscle as Jason is.

ik you may just say to read the comics but what, in your opinion, or the best adaptions of the batman series? In any medium
now why would I say that when you specifically asked about adaptations lmao
I don't think I could possibly name a single favorite! almost all of them have some interesting take on the mythos of Batman that's makes them sparkle in their own right, and a lot of the ones I like most are VERY different stylistically. I love Batman'66, I love Batman Returns, I love Thee Batman (2022)! Batman: Unburied is better than I thought a Batman podcast adaptation could possibly be and I love it so much that it feels like getting harpooned. BTAS is so iconic and has such killer tie-in comics of its own!
hell, I even love the ones that aren't good. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are both awful and they make me so happy! the animated Young Justice series is so broke but I dig Bruce and Dick's dynamic in season one and the way they do Oracle in season three! I even like Batfleck he's great to meeeeee!!!

Part of what makes Rpatt's Batman so compelling to me is the same reason I fell head first into batfleck as soon as he woke up from that nightmare and downed his xanax with bordeaux.
Martha is institutionalized for an unnamed mental illness that-- listen-- could very well have just been grief or disobedience.
But it may not have been. and it could be something passed down. Something Bruce may have inherited, along with the money, and the company, and Carmine Falcone. Legacy he doesn't want to have but you don't get to choose what family you're born in or what happens to them when you're a kid and someone threatens them.
And there's a moment right after the reveal of Martha being institutionalized that-- Riddler swerves directly to Thomas having the reporter murdered-- but there's a lingering sort of feeling that Bruce is much like Martha. She barely gets mentioned in the murder allegedly done in her name. She and Bruce are both just there, learning what Thomas would do for them without the ability to offer input or refute it. Neither of them speak out against it, Martha because she's been dead for years and Bruce because what can he even say?
If his family saw him now, would they institutionalized him? Crazy, violent Batman, running around at night with no friends and strange drugs and neglecting everything around him that isn't part of the mission?
Is he just another crazy, rich orphan like his mother?
...
I could make this a separate post for dramatic effect but to ensure it's all in one place and not mistaken for 'owo spooky mental illness' :
I like Bruce who becomes meaner and more critical because he doesn't think he can trust his own memories. I like a Bruce who maybe has a family history of schizophrenia, who struggles with whether things are grounded in reality or not. If he seems more sympathetic about Harvey Two Face because he spent years feeling like a stranger in his own skin and not knowing how to rip the disguise off without ruining everything. If he goes to seemingly ridiculous extremes because he doesn't know and what if he's wrong, or worse, what if he's right and neglected it even though he knew it was coming. 'if you stay in the dream forever, you could be happy--' but he has had years of practice, waking up the next day to an unhappy, difficult world. If he knows there is something wrong with him, but there isn't any fixing that. There is a place in his brain where the wires cross. It doesn't matter if it's been there from birth or was implanted when his parents died. Unless you can remake him a different person, it's staying.
He has to live with himself.
He has to figure out how to do what he wants to do, despite it.

the best thing about Batfleck is honestly that branding ring he has (at least I'm not aware of another Batman using it). makes me think of yandere!Batman branding you... marking you as his forever... i mean haha what who said that?

who do you picture when writing Bruce Wayne? like is it batfleck (or however you spell it idk) or bale’s bruce, or pattinson’s?? or do you picture the comic ver? (if u do then which interpretation do u think is best?)
justice league & justice league unlimited batman voiced by kevin conroy. in my faq i have a post linked about my (mostly) disinterest in live action batmans. which goes in depth on my opinions, what went wrong, and faves. as for the comics i’m not a comic person even tho i can appreciate them, so i don’t know each writer’s batman interpretation intimately. however i do have another post linked in the faq detailing what batman comic runs i’ve seen explained on youtube that i rly liked
my second favorite batman is from batman: arkham knight voiced again by kevin conroy (also… batman from the animated movie batman: assault on arkham)
… and my third fave batman is val kilmer from batman forever
tbh i’ve answered this question a lot so forgive me for the shorter answers

Batman 1989
So until today I've never seen Michael Keaton's Batman. (I haven't seen the second one either)
Until today.
I went in not knowing what to expect and honestly I wasn't expecting much. I had grown too used to being disappointed by the new crap (Bale, Batfleck, etc) that I forgot the 90s were good.
It was the first live action Batman in a LONG time that I was able to relax and actually enjoy.
He's not my favorite Bruce Wayne - too dorky annnd the lips bother me XD but his Batman is ok!
I loved his gadgets. Also how they somehow made Vickie Vale not annoying (if you don't understand read the comics she's worse than Lois Lane).
The Joker grew on me. The last 20 minutes of the movie his Joker just HIT and it hit AMAZING. The poor guy just wanted his balloons.
Before I get any crap - I was too young to watch this as a kid. My parents didn't want me to watch it and so told me "Robin isn't in it you won't like it" which being 9 or 10 I fell for it. After all I was quite happy with the 66 TV Series Eps I had on VHS.
However they were forced to let me watch Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Because their argument no longer worked, lol. I LOVE Batman and Robin. (probably the only one that actually liked George Clooney as Batman/Bruce).
So yeah, happily surprised and high on Batman tonight at 1am :D

oh hello, sir.
it's worth noting that the ONLY way to watch this movie is to skip through scenes without ben. maybe that's just me.
ps: sometime i will eventually blog my watch-through of every ben affleck movie. it's a trip, and proof that the things i do for this man know no bounds or rotten tomato scores.

I like Batfleck a reasonable amount, but I would like to know your thoughts on the bat symbol on his chest. For some reason, it's always looked way too plump for me. Why did they make it so chubby? It looks like a bat swallowed a piece of toast and now it's forever toast-shaped...
The only thing I can think of is that he’s such a broad and big Batman — more so than any other before him — that they thought the skinny/angular bat would look strange on his chest. I’m not sure I agree with that but here we are.
