Re: last post, but more about the actual plot and characters this time. Again still figuring it all out so exact details may change

Audrist's old boss/mentor was convinced it was possible to transmit not only information but physical objects or even living things through the current. Using the information provided by his spirit and his sorcerer's training, Odd was able to accomplish a veeery rudimentary version of this - storing and transferring small items via lightwave signals. The ability to do this in the Terrestrial realm suggests a possibility of things being transported through dreams, perhaps on a much larger scale. Mentor wanted a relic that would help him accomplish this, but the attempt at that just ended up exploding him oops. Originally this research was kept under wraps, but it became somewhat known after the guy died. Lots of people figure it's mostly crackpot bullshit, though.

When Audrist arrives on Meru, Anata is interested in his work, but Zee convinces him to stay with her instead. Keep in mind, Anata and their upper circle live within a labyrinth, while Zee has a labyrinth of her own (the ship). She tries to play it off as "just being nice," but part of it is that she doesn't want *Anata* to have access to whatever information Audrist might have. Whether or not Zee herself plans to do anything with said information is not entirely clear. She and Audrist share in interest in "the far realms," distant places unreachable by the living, where souls go to "shed their skin" before reincarnation. Zee has only a limited ability to lucid dream. Audrist has none (ie, no control), but sometimes gets information from his spirit in dreams. He knows that she's afraid of Anata's capabilities, and she discourages him from collaborating with them. Which is fine, because he doesn't want to talk to them, anyway.

honestly if I lived in Gotham and it was Valentine's day, I would go out at night and get into dangerous situations on purpose (to get Batmans attention). Then, after he saves me from getting mugged or something, I quickly pull out my Valentine's card and hand it to him (it has a stupid pun written on it, like "I'm down bat for you!"). randomly remembered a fic I once read with Injustice!Superman, where you're in the resistance with Batman but you both get captured. It's similar to that scene in Batman vs Superman where Bruce is chained up and Clark kills everyone else he captured and unmasks Bruce, except the reader was also there and instead of getting killed, reader gets fucked (and I'm pretty sure Bruce was also left alive & had to watch lmao), but I can't find it anymore.... if anyone knows what I'm talking about and knows where to find it please let me know 🙏
