House of Bells Third Year Squad 7
Zyden and his squad from school, adorable 16-year-old puppy Zyden with his best friends/polycule!
Cathak Melio, Air-Aspected strategist: a quiet planner who worries endlessly that he’ll never live up to his House’s needs Peleps Kytek, Water-Aspected squad captain: an adaptable combatant who insills her squad with her own flexibility with tactic and weapon, held back by her paralyzing perfectionism demanded by her House Tepet Baladar, Earth-Aspected tank: an easy-going guy and young Zyden’s best friend, whose good humour is blunt and infectious, and whose anger issues are becoming overwhelming as his House falls apart around him Ledaal Zyden, Fire-Aspected duellist: a brilliant fighter and spear wielder who excels in the physical aspects of the military academy and constantly struggles in the academic side V’Neef Zyll, Wood-Aspected scout: a scion of V’Neef with incredible breeding whose fun-loving carelessness gets her into trouble endlessly, and her connections get her back out just as easily
back in the good old days!
-before he stood up to them trying to kill another student, before they beat the shit out of him for doing so, before they hazed him his entire last year, before they hunted him from one quarter of Creation to another. back in the good days.

Okay done The Unbroken! Really enjoyed it.
-Honestly for a big chunk of the book I had about the same reaction as I did reading the Dragon Republic. Which is to say "Okay, yes, all of this is totally in character and makes emotional sense. But for ficks sake please think more than one step ahead and stop making things worse."
-But really, I do love how Touraine as a protagonist is just allowed to fuck up. Though I have to assume that if she was any less hot or someone else's daughter she would for sure have gotten executed by the 2/3 mark in the book.
-The Balladare insistence about religion and magic being all barbaric superstition seems a little hard to sustain when their main geopolitical rival uses it as a tool of war. But eh.
- l do find it kind of funny that the beast-shaman wizard there as an ally is basically single handedly responsible for every move the Rebellion pulled that actually worked. Hoped the tribes get their money's worth. Though I mean I guess they can just start starving the city again, if not.
-The happy ending felt a little..abrupt? Like, not the actual Deus Ex Machina - that had been built up pretty well through the whole story. But more the fact that after Luca has her change of heart and stops caring about propriety and face and orders the army to surrender and pull out from the colony wholesale they actually well...listen? Kind of clashes with everything we've learned about Baladare and her political situation.

Segunda-Feira
Washington Leal.

Baladar lost the power and the original money was in vain.The real power of the coalition government is now in the hands of the Beijing-Shanghai garrison. However, the Haqqani family, as warlords, have no strength. Their strength comes from the old Talleyrand-style Maki Yavelli wrist left behind by the King's era.

- “André François”, introduction par Robert Delpire, éd. Delpire, coll. “Poche illustrateur”, 2006 ;
- “André François : affiches et graphisme“, catalogue d’une exposition à la Bibliothèque Forney, éd. Paris-Bibliothèques, 2003 ;
- “Balade aux îles Baladar : Jacques Prévert, André François”, livret de l'exposition à la Maison Jacques Prévert d’Omonville-la-Petite, dir. Janine Kotwica et Maelle Quéré, éd. Conseil général de la Manche, 2009 ;
- “André François : Premières acquisitions”, dir. Janine Kotwica, éd. Centre André François : DRAC de Picardie, 2011 ;
- “André François Circus”, dir. Janine Kotwica, éd. Centre André François, 2013 ;
- “André François, Remember”, dir. Janine Kotwica, éd. Centre André François, 2014 ;
dir. Janine Kotwica, éd. Centre André François, 2012 ;

Unzaria Forgotten: Setting and Cast
Unzaria Forgotten takes place in the fictional town of Ammonite Falls, which is in a mountainous region of Unzaria north of the capital, meaning it is one of a few places that actually experiences snow despite the country’s prominently warmer climate. The town of Ammonite Falls is one of traditions and expectations, and was founded on keeping those traditions regardless of the politics of the capital. The Samurai and their Shin-ai Lords who built the town chose to avoid the war against the Ebixian Horde by fleeing into the mountains away from the coast, only to find the titular falls to be the home of an ancient Ebixian Burial Ground. Buried alongside their beloved Ammonites, the falls had become a sacred site and a place for quiet reflection.
In modern times, the town serves as a tourist destination for the falls themselves, the Tori gates placed by the foot of the falls and one of the last remaining samurai castles that has since been repurposed as the “Kusuri Family Inn.” But outside of the vacation seasons, the town has little to offer outsiders, and the younger generations who are stuck living in this town have a strong desire to leave this place and head for the wonders of the Capital.
In the middle of winter, our heroes prepare for the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new life. On the first day of spring, all dreams will collide. And crash.
Heroes (in no particular order):
Flirt: a doll who lives in the high school dormitory, she has a fondness for music and playing the guitar. She acts fairly distant from her own classmates, and her tenuous relationship with her pixie has caught the attention of her English Teacher Ms. Yin, who worries over her at-risk student.
After an unseen argument, Flirt’s pixie has abandoned her partner with no intention of returning. And without a pixie, a doll’s life span is limited to a 72 hour period. Will Flirt find the courage to ask for help? Does she even want to be helped? The story begins on the last days of her life.
Nokklow Gron: an alchemical brewer, Nokklow is the owner of “Party Potions”, a small shop in the towns shopping plaza and run by himself and his late wife. Since the passing of his wife, he has paid little attention to the success of his store, which has been losing business for years.
But the bills keep piling up, and the circumstance of his wife’s passing is still unknown. Still, Nokklow remains in his little shop, brewing away until he loses everything.
Remedios Kusuri: a member of the Kusuri Shin-ai family, she is part of a lineage of Medicine Shin-ai who serves as doctors throughout the country, and her immediate family runs the Historical Kusuri Castle (also known as the Kusuri Family Inn). Despite her family’s traditions (and her own innate abilities and talent for healing others), “Rem” does not wish to become a doctor, and dreams of a day where she can become a hero and have adventures, like those who live in the capital of Neoten seem to have.
She has the passion for it, and is determined to see her dream come true. But does she know what it means to be a hero?
Cicoria: sometimes goes by “Ria”, she is a Lamia with a strong sense of Justice. In fact she is so adamant of following the rules of the Law, that she is considered a little uptight by her peers. That having been said, she has a talent for sneaking and appears proud in doing so whenever an opportunity arises.
She is also incredibly unlucky.
Shou: a member of the Gargoyle Clan of Ammonite Falls, Shou is also the son of the Mayor. As leadership and important roles are traditionally given to the women of his clan, Shou considers himself to be the black sheep in the family. He is a kind hearted but rebellious young man, who hopes to one day leave the town like his father and away from the control of his dominant and overbearing mother.
Doma Baladar: a human blacksmith, Doma has moved to the town of Ammonite Falls to work on his craft of forging Heroic Weapons. In his quest to do so, he has sought out an apprenticeship under Brix the Gargoyle, who doubles as a work shop teacher at the high school. Despite a strong desire to provide the next generation of heroes a weapon, Doma has doubts about his profession in a modern era where his skills may be anachronistic.
Notable NPC’s:
Mayor Yume: the Mayor of Ammonite Falls and leader of her clan of Gargoyles, she is also Shou’s mother. She often appears annoyed and sullen, and has had to face many controversies in her town, including a drug ring, a loss of school funding and subsequently having the school being bought out be a conglomerate company, and a rather public divorce. Despite the bad press, she strives to be the best public servant for the people of Ammonite Falls.
Ms. Yin: an English Teacher working at the high school, she always tries to keep up with her students’ activities while putting on a brave face. She tries her best to be energetic and optimistic in class, but it’s easy to tell that she’s gotten tired. Her biggest concern right now is her student Flirt, whom she considers to be at risk of her pixie’s negative influence.
Brix: the groundskeeper and shop teacher at the high school, Brix is a member of the same gargoyle clan as Yume and Shou though he is not related to them. His class takes place in a cabin outside of the main campus building behind the school, and has two floors to it (the main classroom/workshop and a spare bedroom). On his free time when he’s not taking care of his kids, he’s working as a master blacksmith. Brix has a short temper and a foul mouth, but is willing to help anyone in need.
Augustus Pierce: also goes by the name of “Argus”, he is an overachieving, arrogant, dismissive, blind student and is the current president of the music club (though he admits he only wanted the role to gain access to the music room whenever he wanted some privacy and because it would look good on a resume). His favourite instrument and the one he takes great pride in playing is the piano, and despite his arrogance is actually very competitive.
Elizabeth Channel: “Elly” for short, she is a lightning Shin-ai who wants to become a Managi Officer and fight bad guys like her big brother. She is however fairly scatterbrained and easily distracted.
Altar The Hyperion: a mysterious being who lives beyond the Tori gates and up “the stairs”, he appears in the guise of a monk wearing a golden face-concealing helmet. Accompanied by his familiar, a large golden vulture-like creature called Cheren, he is approached by our heroes and offers them a chance to have any wish granted upon them.
But you may call him “Ian”.
