Gonna say this as someone who has been critical of Game Freak both as a fan and as someone with a Pokémon SPIN for a while now:

Do not support Palworld.

The CEO of Pocket Pair, the game’s studio, openly supports AI and even made a game where making AI-generated art is its main mechanic.

Palworld is not Pocket Pair’s first instance of plagiarism, either. Their previous game, Craftopia, plagiarizes Breath of the Wild, whereas as its upcoming game, Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse, plagiarizes from independent developer Team Cherry’s game, Hollow Knight.

On top of stolen character models and concepts from fakemon artists, it’s already known that you can put Pals through what is basically slave labor BUT what’s been recently discovered is that the game allows you to capture and sell humans. This has been raising some red flags for black gamers looking into these mechanics, me included, considering this factors into the established slave labor system of Palworld.

TL;DR: I completely understand being tired of Game Freak and the Pokémon Company’s lack of polish over the years, but supporting something that is just as devoid of polish and even more devoid of ingenuity is not the way to make those criticisms clearer. This will only encourage more soullessness in the industry.

it's very important to understand how a personality disorder diagnosis functions in the psychiatric system, even if you identify with the diagnosis or find it useful.

personality disorders on your medical record will be used to discredit anything you say or do. they indicate "don't bother listening to this person; apply treatment regardless of their wishes but also they're probably manipulating/attention-seeking so maybe don't bother treating them". needing support becomes attention-seeking. behaviors that would be treated + supported in someone without this diagnosis are ignored or treated as manipulative. providers are instructed to "withdraw warmth" (a real thing in the DBT provider's manual, btw) in response to self-injury or suicidal ideation.

if you have been dx'd with a personality disorder professionally, you likely understand this.

now, here's the important part: this is not an issue of 'stigma' against a politically neutral, pre-discursive True Disease which is being Unfairly Maligned. these diagnoses were formulated based on the idea that some patients cannot be trusted, that some patients seek care too much. they are applied to patient charts as a justification for withdrawing care or as a dismissal of someone "not getting better" fast enough. in the uk, they are often employed by the nhs to shame or problematize people who use large amounts of nhs resources, arguing that receiving a lot of care through the nhs is a negative behavior stemming from a disordered personality.

there are elements of personality disorders which resonate strongly with many people, including myself, but you need to be clear-eyed about the origins + functions of this diagnosis. as a whole, they were created + function as ways to discredit + mistreat noncompliant or "difficult" patients. 'reclaiming' them is not going to change how they function systematically- it is going to make it easier to engage in this systematic neglect by evoking 'ableism' or 'stigma!' when people question the utility or application of the diagnosis.

So a very unique purchase I made during hiatus… a pair of antique prosthetic arms I basically saved from being sold as lamps?? They were most likely made between 1900-1930, though one professor I reached out to says they might specifically be WWI era or thereabouts which is grand cos I’ve been getting very into WWI medicine, specifically prosthetics and plastic surgery, these past two years. Definitely a great addition to my collection regardless! They are two left arms produced for two different people but by the same maker in France and came with a swivel joint and hook, ring, and brush attachments.

honestly have been feeling really nervous for this exam since my classmates have either failed it or just barely passed. and i had less time to study this time around because i rushed to book the exam.

Sunlamp Controller

Disclaimer: this isn't an April fool's joke lol

This little control panel makes all lights located in the same room with it work like sunlamps.

The controller is only needed for lights that aren't actual sunlamps. This mod by Sophie-David is incorporated, so the cheaper fluorescent lamp and custom lights with orig GUID 0x6CC90706 are recognized as sunlamps.

For other kinds of lamps, you'll need a control panel for each room you want extra sunlight in. They work in greenhouses and outdoors as well, on all lot types.

I didn't want it to be too cheaty, so the controller costs 1.5x the price of one fluorescent lamp.

Jason Todd was a street kid, he never felt comfortable with the galas and millionaire activities Bruce attended. The first few days of his adoption he refused to leave his room, and Bruce was having a meltdown over one of his incoming events that required his new son's presence.

So, when he walked into the gala expecting criticism and gossip he didn't notice the boy next to him who was the same age as Jason. Or at least, he didn't until someone congratulated him on his new "son."

The boy introduced himself as "Danny" when he asked for his name. He wasn't thrilled with the galas his godfather forced him to attend and hated being alone, but he liked to play pranks on the rich. Which is why he didn't correct anyone when they called him Jason Todd.

Bruce came up with an idea after seeing his black hair and blue eyes and a few days later Jason and Danny were meeting. Bruce made the proposal to Danny to become Jason's "double" during the galas, and as long as he was in Gotham, the boy didn't see any problem. Better than being with Vlad.

Jason frowned not seeing the resemblance between them (he even told the boy) but Danny smiled and remarked that rich people were distracted, and as long as they didn't take pictures, they would never notice. A black-haired, blue-eyed boy was all they expected, and would be all they would see.

Still, Jason spent his days reminding him of their little differences, and how they were changing over time. Danny was amused by his concern. He thought it was kind of adorable that Jay was afraid of him being found out.

This arrangement went on for a long time. Until at some point Danny stopped responding, and shortly after Bruce stopped asking.
