a small but extremely meaningful and serious gripe i have with veilguard that i dont think i've mentioned yet is the seemingly innocuous change of solas's artwork from "frescoes" to "murals". and if someone tries to argue that the distinction is meaningless i will come through your computer screen like the creepy bitch from the ring and challenge you to a physical brawl while i explain to you that the distinction is EVERYTHING its about the patience required by the fresco process and the longevity is an essential metaphor for solas's immortality but more importantly his mindset as someone who has lived thousands and thousands of years and as a spirit that struggles with change and as someone STUCK in the past unchanging and eternal like the plaster he paints his image with and it exemplifies the tragedy of his desire to immortalize history and his story through a permanent fixture of artwork that is supposed to last forever and the tragedy of how it doesnt matter because the world remembers him as the great betrayer anyway and the tragedy of how he does it again for any inquisitor even one he hates because he believes so much in the truth and so much of his fight against the evanuris was characterized by propoganda and the worst part is the tragedy of how none of it matters because his frescoes are all destroyed by the manifestations of his own regret and even the supposedly eternal medium falls prey to his own regrets AND SO WILL HE and i dont care if frescoes are a type of mural because the word has MEANING it makes people think of ancient civilizations it makes people think of crumbling buildings it makes people think of THE PAST its so evocative it puts you in the same mindset AS HIM WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORD...... but now they're just murals

Notes: I don't have TikTok so I don't know much about it. But this turned out to be more player focused lmao enjoy!

"We have to do a what?"

"Some tiktok challenges. Our media manager has already made you guys an account and um, they want you to film some videos so the show can get even more popular!"

You can hear most of them groaning in complaint. Its not that they do not use the app, but most of them could not care less about the cameras or how popular the show could get. As long as they got to continue playing and being in Blue Lock, then everything is all good.

"Can I not join in, Y/n-chan?" Niko asked and most of them soon followed, asking the same question.

"Eh? Oh okay...um, I'll try convincing the JFU but...they said you need to be in it." You said, a sad look in your eyes, knowing that the JFU would probably scold you again when they found out you let the boys do whatever they wanted again.

Isagi, being one of the most sensitive ones in the group, noticed the look in your face. Now, if it was just him, he would also rather say no to whatever the JFU wanted. But knowing that you will probably struggle in convincing the higher ups, and the possibility of you being scolded again, he straightened his posture before clearing his throat.

"Actually, Y/n-chan. We'll do the filming! Right guys?" He said, a fake smile on his face as the rest were just confused.

"What? You do it alone-" Otoya was about to say when Isagi elbowed his side discreetly, before giving a chilling smile.

"Right, Otoya! We'll all do it, Y/n-chan! What do we do?"

Most of them did not like the sound of that, but seeing your face light up in happiness made them get what Isagi wanted. So they just shut their mouths up and let you tell them what to do.

"It's been a while since we even used our phones for fun, didn't know so many trends already came and go." Karasu said as he listened to the trend they were supposed to be doing.

"How do you do this 'suspect' trend, Y/n-chan?" Bachira asked, peeking his head through your shoulder to look at the tablet in your hand where a video of the said trend played.

"So basically, one person will be filming another. The one shown in the camera will be running while the one holding the camera would call them 'suspect' before saying something about themselves that is embarrassing or funny. That's the gist of it, but you all can say what you want, as long as it doesn't cross too many lines."

A shiver ran through your spine at the smirk on everybody's face. Of course, they all knew each other's deepest habits and secrets, perks of living with each other in this large facility. And exposing and dissing each other? Oh, this was just the thing they have been waiting for.

And that was when you wondered if you picked the wrong trend for the boys to do.

"Um okay, I'll be doing something else in the meantime. I'll leave you with this phone so you guys can film. Um, you can go in whatever order you want. Please try to keep the language to a minimum as possible."

You said nervously, handing a phone provided by the facility to Rin, who just accepted it without a thought. You personally did not know how to feel about this. You trusted them, but definitely not enough to say the weirdest and most out of context things, especially when it comes to their fellow Blue Lock players.

'Oh god, I hope they dont end up fighting...'

The moment you left, they immediately went up to Rin to set up everything and started to point on who will be the scapegoat and be the first one.

"I vote for Barou to go first." Nagi said with a yawn, which only angered the said striker.

"What did you say, you lazyass? How about YOU go first?"

"Hey, hey no fighting!" Bachira cheered.

"Yeah. Hmm, how about rock paper scissors, and whoever loses gets to be the sacrifice." Hiori commented, to which most of them agreed.

It took a while to play the said games due to their number, but as the minutes passed and more and more people won and got eliminated. It was all left to Otoya and Chigiri.

"It's missy versus ninjass!" Karasu laughed.

"Shut the hell up, Karasu!" Chigiri muttered, taking the game very seriously.

But, lady luck wasn't on his side today as he pulled out paper and Otoya pulled out scissors.

"YES! GOODLUCK MISSY!" Otoya cheered. Chigiri fell to his knees at the lost before being pushed up by Isagi, who was laughing at his misery.

Being the one who currently held the phone, Reo snickered at a thought that appeared on his mind as he pressed the video button and started recording the running Chigiri.

"Suspect can't outrun us for too long in this video, or else he'll be in crutches the next day." Like bowling pins, most of the boys fell to the ground laughing at the words. Reo, was busy snickering and making sure that Chigiri's reaction was caught on camera.

"You absolute crud! COME HERE, YOU ASSHOLE!" Chigiri said, fuming, chasing after the chameleon-like striker who just ran away and continued laughing at his offended face.

"Suspect got brotherzoned by Y/n-chan because he started to say slurs on the field!"

"BITCH?! COME HERE CHIGIRI!" Isagi said, feeling offended and a bit heartbroken when he remembered that certain time.

"Suspect thinks his bad taste in fashion brings the girls closer, but actually just shoos them away from him."

"WHAT?! Excuse me, my fashion is good." Otoya tried to defend himself from Karasu's words. But the rest of the boys just shook their heads.

"Your beanies are hideous."

"Nah, its just because they're on him."

"HELLO?! WHY IS EVERYONE SO RUDE TO ME?!"

"Suspect is a closet gay for Hiori." Rin said, filming Karasu who stopped in his steps with wide eyes at what he said.

"What the hell? I'm not gay." But the rest of the boys just laughed at the straight tone Rin said what he said and the expression Karasu currently had.

"Shut the hell up, you crow. You ain't ever gonna beat the allegations!"

"You aren't any better, Shitdough! You are so gonna get it from me!"

"Hey, you're the one who keeps commenting about how erotic Hiori is." Kunigami rolled his eyes.

"I second that. I still can't forget how you called my left leg erotic." Hiori pitched.

"THAT WAS A COMPLIMENT?!"

"How gay can a compliment be, chat?" Otoya joked while slapping Karasu's back, who only yelped.

"Suspect would either get hepatitis from his dreams of Itoshi Sae or his 3 weeks unwashed pillow case!" This time, it was Oliver who filmed Shidou.

"And I don't have anything to hide about that."

"Jesus Christ, you both are disgusting." Rin commented in disgust at both Oliver for what he said, and to Shidou's whole humanity, or what was left in that guy's said humanity.

"Ya'll are getting more unhinged as this challenge pass by." Yukimiya added as he shook his head, not even knowing what you, Ego or Anri would say when they start to view the footage.

"Suspect can't run too fast or else he'll trip because he can't see what's in front of him."

"HAHAHAHA Bachira did not pull any punches." The rest laughed, meanwhile Yukimiya's glasses fogged, his smile clearly fake as he was legit pissed at what the striker said.

"We're here to offend not to ammend, baby."

"Suspect watches anime more for the agenda than the plot."

"So what?" Niko sassed towards Kiyora, who just shrugged while the rest just snickered.

"Nah bro, don't tell me you're one of those in the agenda piece community." Kurona said, only for Niko to shrug.

"Maybe or maybe not. You never know."

"Pfft Isagi!"

"Nagi being a closet mean girl is so true, though."

"All the victims of Nagi Seishiro arise!" Otoya said as Isagi, Barou and even Reo raised their hands while laughing. Nagi, on the other hand just plopped on the ground, not wanting to even continue moving.

Needless to say, the video was a whopping success in social media. Everyone had a good laugh at found out the chill and funny side of the Blue Lock players. But, the JFU was less than pleased of what was in the video.

They expected the boys to behave and say respectable things about each other, not ruin their damn reputation just for jokes and laughs. But, nerdless to say, nobody cared much about their anger because the video did blow up in popularity, and numbers never lie, especially when it brings over money and revenue.

BTW I got inspo for this from a sokka x reader fic I read awhile ago idk if I'll ever find that again but just know this wasn't originally my idea I just made my own version with a different character!!

You didn't mean to get hurt, you really didn't

But while trying to get the jeep you werent exspecting any phantomes to be in the house...

You all thought they'd all be distracted but apparently there were a few who stayed in the house..

You were behind tyler when the group went into the house in search of the car keys, it wasn't long before you all heard ash and aiden shouting outside so ben went to go see what was going on while you, Taylor, and tyler stayed inside to find the keys

You guys checked around the first story a bit before making your way to the stares

Just as you all made it to the stareway you caught a movment from the corner of your eye and before having much time to reach a phantom jumped out of nowhere twords tyler

"TYLER-"

Without thinking you jumped infront of him to try and use your flashlight against the phantom

Thankfully it worked....kinda

It managed to dig its claws into your arm before desloving into that nasty goo from the flashlight

"Y/N!!"

"What's wrong with you?? Why would you do that?!?!"

Tyler was first by your side as he grabbed your arm with an angry look, Taylor standing behind him with a concerned look

"I'm fine we need to find the keys"

"Fine?! Your-"

Tyler was interrupted when you all heard a gunshot, looking around consernd and confused

"A gunshot?" "A gunshot?"

You and tayler spoke at the same time, not long after Ben came rushing back in, waving his hand to signal to follow him as he went up the stairs

"Come on we need to keep moving"

Tyler looks from you and Taylor before letting out a frustrated sigh and following tyler up the stares tugging you with by your arm, surprisingly being careful about the wound the phantom gave you

You all manged to get the keys to the jeep and get back to the graveyard thankfully, though ashlen probably got a concussion, aiden has a spraind ankle, and you gota deep gash on your arm

But you all made it back alive at least

You sat on some old tires as ben checked on ashlyns head a few feet away, you jut sat in thought before you notice tyler walking over to you with some of the first aid stuff he must've got from Ben while you were thinking

"Give me your arm"

He dosent even wait for a response as he grabs you arm just under the wound and pulling your arm out a bit to look at the wound, frustration very visible on his face as he grabs some stuff to clean the wound

"Tyler what are tou doing? Ben was going to patch me up after he checked on ashlyn"

"I'm patching you up cuz he's taking to long"

He says without even looking up at you, lifting up a rage that you assume had somthing like rubbing alcohol on it or somthing to clean the wound

You winced slightly when he pressed the rag to the wound, but deciding to continue talking to maybe get your mind off the stinging in your arm

"It's just on my arm, I'd be fine waiting a minute for ben to patch me up, you dont have to"

"But I am anyways now hold still"

The frustration in his town was clear so you went quiet for a bit knowing pressing on might just work him up more then he is already

".......your such a dumbass"

"..what?"

"I said your a dumbass"

His hand tightens on your arm slightly, not enough to hurt but enough to not be able to notice it as he tightens up the bandage on your arm, still not looking up at your face as he spoke

"I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure I saved you from getting attacked by a phantom back there"

"You jumped in front of it and got hurt!"

He finely looked up at your face his brows furrowed in frustration and anger as he lets go of your arm

"I did that so you wouldn't get hurt! And I didn't intend for the phantom to hurt me!"

"But you still did! You should've let me handle it myself!!"

You and tylers growing argument quickly got the attention of the rest of the group and they all watch in confused and consern for a few moments

"You didn't even see it coming!"

"I still could've handled it!! Next time dont jump infront of a phantom to try and save me!"

"I was just trying to protect you!"

"Yea well how can I protect you if your putting yourself in danger because of me?!"

Ben,logen, and tayler started making there way over to you and tyler now, probably to try and stop the argument from escalating further but you barly registered it as you snaped back at tyler

Tyler snaped back without thinking

"I just don't want to see you get hurt ok?!? I care about you!!"

That threw you off completely, you weren't even able to muster out a reply before tayler was infront of tyler trying to calm you down and logen was in front of you, logen was kinda in the middle of tayler and Ben trying to calm you both down awkwardly

Watching the traveller sleep had become boring. Very boring. Could he waltz off and go paint some unknown creatures blood in the walls? Absolutely. But his mission had been to watch the traveller. And beyond his itch, his needs and personal wants, the things that fulfilled him like fighting and training and killing- if the Tsarista commanded it, then it shall be be so. Wandering off could give the traveller means to wake up and leave. He couldn't have that.

But Archons could something, anything just happened already?? Childe rest his head back against the rock, looking up to the black nothingness above, so dark not even the moss that crawled up the walls could illuminate the space. Beyond the fire, her breathing and the gentle trickle of water, there was only silence. "Nothing? Really?" He sighed.

While he waited, he decided to continue practicing the art of draining fluids. He'd grab a handful of the moss from near by and drain it. Then throw its dehydrated carcass to the fire. He repeated this action until he had a few blobs of water floating around his being, their shapes poor and the majority dripped from his inability to keep it intact.

Once he was out of moss in his near vicinity, he decided to move the orbs to form one giant orb. He wondered what his master would think. 'Pathetic, if you cant do such a basic thing how could you hope to survive? Dont make me have to show you how its done. Again.' Not that she had a vision or the ability to manipulate water as far as he was aware so perhaps that advice wouldnt apply here. But she was always full of surprises. Ah Skirk, think one day you could find me and show me something new?

The lack of physical connection was what made it so hard. Though he'd vastly improved on his little trick since his first attempts; suspending a drop of rain took weeks to master.

With a few breaths and some awkward hand gestures the last few drops were almost in place... so close... and- it burst over his crossed legs. "Fuck..." He sulked, frustrated with the outcome. The harbinger, trousers soaked, looked over to his unconscious company. "Well, at least you're not awake to see that."

Childe dried himself off once again but rather than play with (as Tuecer liked to call it) water magic, he decided to stretch his legs bit. He grabbed his jacket from the wall and shrugged it on, and started by walking the circumfrance of the cave, his hands once again gloved glided over the rock wall's damp surface. He poked his head into the few exits, more tunnels for them to explore when the time came but despite his curiosity he knew he couldn't venture far.

The man turned around to face the traveller. Her pretty sleeping face. How long had she been asleep for? An hour? 3? More likely it'd been less than 50 minutes but he was so booooorreeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Childe made the choice to walk over to her. He stood by her head, bending at the hip to stare at her face upside down. Closer now, he could see the way her brow furrowed so slightly, her eyes shut tight, her fingers balled at her side.

"What are you dreaming about, huh?" Fighting me? Killing me? You're so bold, traveller. The ginger cocked his head with the question. It seemed she was about to answer him almost, the way her lips twitched open. Childe knelt down to close the space, get a better view and attempt to hear the few noises that escaped her. Her mutters were relatively nonsensical. Anton was the same with his night terrors, just noises and not much else- though when he wakes he recalls the vivid encounters he has with all sorts of creatures and people.

There was one word she repeated frequently, just enough that perhaps he could make it out.

Ae... aef... Aefuhhan- aeferr- ae...

"Ae... ther?" Was that even common language?

The traveller woke suddenly, her startled wide eyes consumed him and he shot back to his feet, giving her the space to wake up... and also not look like a total weirdo by having been so close to her unconscious body.

She looked... worse for wear. Perhaps worse now than she did before the nap. He wasn't sure it was possible. She was definitely full of surprises.

Childe did nothing when she shot off looking like a wounded dog. Judging by her footsteps and where they stopped, she wasn't far. Though perhaps she thought far enough for him to not hear her sobs.

It... stunned him. Her vulnerability. She was so strong, sometimes almost unbeatable, and stoic, sarcastic, that sometimes he forgot she was just an extraordinary human at the end of the day. It took him a moment to snap from his thoughts, eyes lingering on the space she had disappeared too.

Sitting down crossed legged he decided to pluck a few mushrooms himself to roast and eat. Weird. They'd be perfect for his stew.

Childe continued to roast as the woman returned, her heels clicking with each step.

His eyes stayed on the fire as she... made herself comfortable so to speak.

"How's your ankle?" He questioned eyes fixed on the odd coloured flames, taking another bite out of the roasted starshroom.

Aether's golden braid, the same colour of sunlight itself, swung rhythmically at each step he took further away from her. Her feet moved on the reflection of the universe that surrounded them, but there was no sound from the weight of her boots, only her voice as a sharp echo in that beautiful emptiness that existed between her and her beloved family. "Aether please-" her breath weary, she didn't have to look down at her legs to know that despite her effort, it seemed like her body would not cooperate with her request to run after him. "Aether, wait! Why can we not go together?" Her voice was lost in the stars, their light colder than she could ever remember them to be. Her brother stopped in his track, and so she did. Eventually, his head turned towards her, but there was no smile on his features to welcome her back home like he always did. No warmth in his eyes that had always been the reflection of hers. His lips moved, and the sky went crumbling down above them. The stars fell one by one, the water underneath her slowly pulling her in. It dragged her body down, down, down, despite her attempt to fight it back, and the last words she could barely make out on the surface was a last plead to her brother. He didn't come to save her as the water entered her throat, invaded her lungs, and even her breathless groans were stolen by the mass of suffocating water that had trapped her. She was all alone again. Even her Sun had at last abandoned her.

....

With pure terror her body brought her back to reality: a gasp that scratched her throat, like an animal who was ready to run away from danger she found herself half sat on her side, every inch of her body shaking, her chest raising heavily at each ounce of oxygen her lungs were taking in.

There was dampness under her fingers, and under her legs, soft under her skin. A wet cloth had fallen on her hand in the struggle, her eyes barely able to focus yet on her surroundings.

It was all a dream... One she had not had in a long time since she had woken up in Teyvat. And yet, the unsettling fear still suffocating her did not leave her even when she finally raised her gaze from her hand: flames were still burning by her side, and behind them, boots and a body which belonged to someone.

Childe. And his blue eyes staring back at her owns.

"I need some air." In a small frenzy, she forced her trembling body to get up, feet quick despite her stumbling, to move away as fast as possible. To where? She had no clue, but away from those dull eyes that absorbed all light around them.

There was a tunnel barely opposite the one they had come from, not as narrow though, in which she made her way into and hid behind the first corner of rocks she could find. They were cold against her back as she looked for some kind of support. She didn't realise her hand had been already on her mouth the moment she had left the fireplace and Childe behind her back.

She cried. She cried until there was no tear left in her. And yet, even after no tear would roll anymore on her cheeks, she kept sobbing quietly until even those died in her chest.

Aether's eyes. They were the same as his.

That was what had frightened her the most.

Aether eyes had been exactly like Childe's: dull and lifeless.

She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands, her cheeks with the fabric on her arms to get rid of any tears that were left on her face. A deep breath and with her gaze down, she at last made her way back even if slowly to the fireplace that Childe must have kept alive while she had succumbed to exhaustion. Silence hung heavy on her shoulders. He must have seen everything; the panic in her eyes, the shaking of her body, perhaps even heard her brother's name called in despair. She always made sure to carefully hide any kind of vulnerability; so carefully she often didn't even know how to deal with her own emotions herself. And of all people who could have caught that miserable act of hers, it was him.

Even so, her head was too much in a state of distress to really think about her company. So as still as the rocks around them she sat across him once again, only her own arms to embrace her own body as if it could keep her safe from the grief that was corroding her from the inside. She had no strength left to even care anymore, about expectations, about his disappointment. Let the world crash on her shoulders for some time, let its weight bury her until she can find the strength to raise again, as she always did.

this might already be common knowledge but i found out that apparently if you choose to kill TOWW after the end battle, the mystic seller will offer narinder back to you after you defeat all the bishops for the second time.

and like, that makes sense from a game perspective, for players who didnt realise there would be any consequences for that choice, but holy shit the in-world ramifications of it are both hilarious and fucked up like 'hey i found your cat that you hate he was meowing sadly in the afterlife so i brought him back to you, give him a bath or smthn' ????

Genuinely so curious who Mike thinks is gonna be buying The Cage or the new DCTL GN bc with the way he tweets as far as he's concerned, it's not gonna be:

Reminder while Mike is trash talking his fans he has always treated them rather poorly. The fans who won the fanart contest for Chapter 5 never got their posters actually in game due to it being rushed. Not only was chapter 5 a big slap to the face story wise, but it was literally so rushed he couldn't be bothered to add in the art his fans gave him for his game FOR FREE. [Meatly blames this on a crazy timeline, reminder him and Mike are the literal ceos of this company. The proposal of future updates here is also pretty cruel considering Mike nowadays happily admits he corrupted Chapter 5's source code and therefore literally can't update it At All currently. Because he is a moron]

At least they got to be in Boris and the dark survival, and by that I mean that was the Only game they got to be in so far, isn't that just treating your fans like you love them? Shoving their hard work into a spin off game almost nobody has played or addresses much. [Hell, who knows if with the Lone Wolf rebrand they'll even stay there. In which case they'll be in None of the games, only in the credits of BATIM]

I will not be purchasing The Cage because, combined with this and his absolute refusal to take any kind of critique or see any differing interpretation of his franchise, I have no reason to think my problems with the franchise will ever be addressed or fixed. I probably will pirate The Cage along with any future Bendy Products [Including the movie] and will do my best to avoid giving it any kind of monetary support. Unless this changes any time soon, I can't see myself making anymore positive Bendy posts soon.

Mike has just managed to make it so hard to speak positively or optimistically of this franchise when he's so willing to broadcast how little he cares about it or its fans. I'm at the point where I refuse to pull any of my punches with my problems with it. What's the point of trying to play nice with my critique when either way the people creating it don't care?

So with this post, I want to invite anyone who feels similarly about the franchise to tell me, make a post or send an ask talking about how all of this makes you feel. It may not change how things are, but genuinely seeing other people share my feelings of anger makes me feel better. It feels nice to see when other people share our same concerns and worries. I'd also love to know if anyone else thinks they'll be avoiding purchasing Bendy products over this.

I'm not forcing anyone to participate in it nor trying to say anyone who doesn't supports mike but genuinely maybe if we can collectively decide to boycott things like the movie, graphic novel and The Cage... It might at least make the bendy devs acknowledge how much they have destroyed their own fandom's faith and trust in them.

The way Mike tweets about his actions like he had no control over why people were mad at him at least proves to me he takes NONE of it back nor regrets it. If you didn't know about his actions and only went off his tweets, you would be led to believe Mike has been needlessly picked apart by fans over things he couldn't control [or in his own words, had his words twisted and taken out of context]. That is not how you speak about your actions if you have actually learned better from them.

anyway, that has been my bendy dev callout post. This is an open invitation to anyone feeling similarly upset about the way the franchise is going to talk about it. It's genuinely nice to see how people feel about this and the more we talk about the more it's likely the bendy devs are forced to address our concerns. I don't think they will but hey, that's why I'm not gonna support them with my money anymore nor am I gonna be nice to them in any content I make critiquing Bendy. I mean I'm also basically making this post just in case anyone asks me Why I feel this way towards to bendy devs/as a way to respond to anyone who thinks I am too harsh in my critique in the future.

As always, it seems the best part of Bendy isn't actually anything about canon but about what the fan's are creating with the ideas Bendy failed to do anything interesting with.

I think the most baffling thing about the Tulpar as a vessel to me is the fact that the ship really did only have a one way communication system.

I know it was cheap but even the most basic of vessels regarding major transport would have some way, shape or form for outside communication. Not only that but there was absolutely no form of innate emergency signal to show they may have been offline or in trouble despite clearly having a system to dock credits if they went off course. It's another factor that really shows that bad situations are made to get worse by design. One person who is required to relay all information to the crew and make all the choices without feedback. No way to update or call for help in case of a dire situation. No way to inform of inner personal conflicts and acquire procedures accordingly.

It really is like they are all in some sort of fucked up solitary confinement. They have their own world with strict roles that are meaningless in the end, as long as the cargo makes it, it doesn't matter what happens on that ship to the company. They don't want to hear anything and will come to conclusions on what happened based on how much pay they can withhold from the workers. Even what they do send is short, sterile and corporate to the extent it was likely written and sent out with a command by some random unmanned computer in an office.

There's something to be said about how unfair it is to force absolute power and control onto one person when you as an entity could do so much more to offload it but I've said it many times before so I won't again.
