No no no no that’s the POINT. Curly is just as bad as Jimmy. He let so many of the giant red flags that tumbled out of Jimmy’s mouth slide. He was told multiple times about the abuse Jimmy was inflicting on Anya. He ignored Anya even when she pushed so far as to hide the gun on the ship bc she genuinely feared what Jimmy would do to her. Curly heard it all- saw it all- and he chose to do nothing. He had every opportunity to intervene before the crash but he didn’t. He chose not to. He blathered on and on about responsibility, about his willingness to do anything for his crew, but when they needed him most he did nothing. He just stood there and watched and let it happen.

And now he can’t do anything. He has lost the ability to make that choice. He physically can’t intervene now. His chance to change things and take responsibility has passed him by. Now, he has to just sit there and watch how the mask formed from all those red flags he so willfully ignored peels away and reveals the monster that was always there beside him. Now, he has to just sit there and watch as one by one, Jimmy manipulates and drives each and every one of the people that he swore up and down he would protect to the very edge, and kills them. Now, he just has to sit there and watch as Jimmy justifies each of his actions by blaming everyone else for the situation he put them in- the situation that Curly allowed him to put them in. He has to sit there and watch as Jimmy does everything in his power to create a palatable, sanitized narrative of what happened all so he can cover up what he was doing.

And Curly chose to stand there passively and allowed all of it until he physically didn’t have a choice anymore.

And in the end, Curly is the only one left to tell the story. The story of how it was all his responsibility, how he was supposed to do anything for his crew. And now, it’s all his fault because he couldn’t do just one thing. He has to live with that fact for the rest of his life. He has to live with the fact that his willful ignorance, his choice not to act, cost four people their lives. He will live with those physical and mental scars forever. But even worse, he has to live knowing that that’s the truth. And that in some cruel, twisted way, Jimmy was right.

The truth doesn’t really get rid of that awful taste in your mouth though, does it?

The "solved code" used a very dodgy method that most theorists don't believe has much validity, and it didn't even give "Evan", it gave "Eva" (or "Evad" if you stretch it).

The "N" was just pulled in because the person who tried to solve it wanted it to line-up with Jake's dad from The Real Jake being called Evan.

Dad! Kai Headcanons

Well, marriage wasn't something he thought of too seriously before the war- and during, it was just a far-off possibility, something he could worry about later; maybe after it was over, he might meet a nice girl or guy or something, settle down as Supreme Warlord of China, have some calves, why not?

Theoretically, in this AU, something like this happened. One way or another, he's now a daddy!

Kai, at first, doesn't really know what to think. Ok, he's done it, he has a kid...now what?- But as soon as he holds that little bundle...ok, he's still very, very unsure, but at least he knows that he'll both kill and die for them.

Extremely gentle when the kiddie is this small. He holds them like they're made of the most fragile glass and almost doesn't move at all. He just sort of cradles them in his big arms and just stares at them the entire time.

The kids probably pull on his facial hair all the time. He doesn't mind that much, though it does hurt.

When they're a little older he's always tossing them into the air, catching them again, playfully acting like they're heavy and he's going to drop them (mostly to scare the other parent because he's a jerk), etc.

Play fights them and pretends that the little "attacks" actually hurt- it's funnier the smaller the kid is. The smaller and younger the child, the more he exaggerates the effectiveness of the "attack" (ex: baby grabs his finger and he pretends the kid's breaking his entire arm).

Bonus to previous point: He uses that as an excuse to get out of doing dishes ("Will you do dishes now?" "Can't. Kid broke my arm. I'm grievously injured.")

Actually surprisingly patient with screaming and crying and tantrums (as in, he doesn't yell at/threaten/shake the kid no matter how annoyed he is) but he does have a limit. He'll try to soothe the crying at first, but might pass them off to Oogway/the other parent if it's too much for him to deal with at the moment.

Is the type to stay up all night with the baby/babies, even if it was supposed to be the other parent's "turn"- his partner needs sleep too.

When he thinks no one's looking...you know he's cooing to the little fluff ball, tickling that round tummy, and kissing those chubby cheeks. If you saw this happening...no you didn't.

The kids are always riding on his shoulders when they're small. He's also always picking them up or slinging them around like sacks of potatoes.

Oogway is the godfather of the child(ren). Kai wouldn't let him be anything less. Oogway is definitely the fun, slightly mysterious uncle who tells the best stories and jokes and also spills all of the tea about some of Kai's more embarrassing moments.

When the child(ren) is older, however, he becomes less outwardly affectionate. The most he might do might be ruffling their hair, patting them on the head/shoulder, etc.

He can be a bit strict, especially in terms of discipline- he's not cruel, just stern; he has a very rigid nontolerance policy towards nonsense.

Might be a little softer towards his daughter(s).

Is actually pretty protective of them. Seriously no one so much as raises their voice at his babies without suffering some severe consequences.

If the kid takes an interest in fighting he'll definitely start training them; but he does not go easy on them by any means. The battlefield is unkind- he knows better than anyone, how could he fail his child(ren) by not preparing them for that harsh reality?

Will also not hesitate to brutally roast his own child(ren) should the occasion arise, but playfully.

Will also make "motherf**er" jokes constantly (when they're old enough to understand). If they try to roast him back he'll pull out the classic "I sleep with your mom/dad".

Also will embarrass his child(ren) on purpose when they're teens. At that point he'll finally understand why his parents did it to him: it's fun.

Will be really prideful about his child(ren)'s accomplishments. He'll constantly boast about them, claiming that "they probably get it from me".

Day 5: Favorite Ship(s) involving a Martell

1- Oberyn/Ellaria

Nine times out of ten, I am not a canon shipper. This ship is one of my exceptions and I am more than okay with it. Seriously not only did we get bisexual characters, these two are dating, we got a man being openly bi, I love the chemistry. It’s not forced, like I would actually believe they were together if they were real people. It’s organic and we don’t see enough of this! Thank you Pedro and Indira for doing these two justice, but we all know Oberyn and Ellaria deserve better!

2-Oberyn/Daenerys

It was this one I did the video for on YouTube. I started to actually get into Tiktok for the first time in years and was looking up Daenerys videos, well someone made a video of this ship and I’m like “They’re bi, they both have fire, they’re hot! Let’s ship it!” I haven’t looked back since.

3-Ellaria/Daenerys

Show wise: These two would tear the Lannisters down and look hot doing it. They're both fiery and could end up with Yara Greyjoy as well.

Book wise: I would see them meeting since Doran wants a Targaryen on the throne. At first, Ellaria isn't trusting anyone. She's emotionally just drained, it's one of those slow burn types of relationships.

4-Daenerys/Oberyn/Ellaria

Team bi, all the way. These three would get the job done and avenge both Elia but also House Targaryen! Behind every great man, there's a great woman; but for Oberyn, he has two of them. Honestly this is one of my favorite poly-ships.

5-Trystane/Myrcella

These two are so darn cute together! When I saw they both died in the show I was sad! Seriously, way to assassinate Ellaria and the Sand Snakes. Oh and when Myrcella told Jaime she knew that he was her Dad, broke my heart. When I learned that book wise, they’re both alive, I was happy about it! I hope they stay alive in the novels.

6-Oberyn/Jaime

I have no idea what I was thinking on this one… I think a certain tiktok video made me think of it. It’s Oberyn f-kin’ Martell vs Jaime Fuckin’ Lannister. We all know Oberyn would top Jaime. I mean after what the Lannisters did, I feel this is more of an enemies to lovers type ship.

This time it's ancient trio time~ ShB/Endwalker spoilers and lots of rambling under the cut

I'll start with mentioning that Eleos is Azem and Hawu'li is his shard. I think I've posted what he vaguely looks like in form of a picrew pic buuuut uh, this time you get a quick little scribble of his mask I drew instead.

Height and age - yeah no, I did not want to fuck with trying to choose anything for them since ancient world works weirdly. They are all of similar ages and fairly young, Hades has just aged a lot due to having to deal with his husbands lol. He's tallest of the three, with Eleos being just a tiny bit shorter than Hyth.

Jock - game keeps saying Emet is "the greatest mage" but honestly I could not mark him as nerd when he swings that huge drk sword so effortlessly in Ktisis. So to me he is also physically strong. Hyth is nerd on account of working basically a desk job and complaining how he doesn't usually fight, even if using a bow logically makes him somewhat buff too.

Affection - Hades is tsun so no pda. Hyth is used to this and knows not to tease him too much. Eleos does not care and teases both of them mercilessly with his affection, regardless of where they are or who is watching.

Confessions - Hyth and Hades were an item even before meeting Eleos, and their thing started from Hades managing to voice his feelings (Hyth had known about them already, but wanted to hear him say it). With Eleos, they kinda confessed together, with Hyth once again pushing Hades to admit his feelings out loud. By this point Eleos has been saying he loves them both for like, literal months but somehow also never initiated anything? Even Hyth was kinda confused if it was more plationical or not lol.

Kiss - Hades kisses both of them first: Hyth during a really sweet and romantic moment as teens, and Eleos to shut him up. Which surprisingly worked, as Eleos just kinda froze and was unable to process any thoughts for like half an hour. It has not worked ever since.

Propose - Hades is the most easily jealous one, so he really wanted something to seal the fact that they were all bound to eachother. All 3 have matching earring. Eleos also got a tiny magic circle drawn on his ringfinger - Emet's magic, made to contain both his and Hyth's essence to help calm Eleos down (he's strongly affected by feelings of others). It's usually invisible, but glows softly purple when touched.

Other stuff:

Hades and Eleos are both really stubborn so Hyth has to act as mediator between them

Hades first noticed Eleos from his soul (mix of orange and purple hues, like a really vibrant sunrise) which was so out of normal it got his attenttion in a big crowd (and Eleos did something really stupid right after so it really was unforgettable lol)

Eleos has a habit of just. Leaving in the middle of night if his wanderlust happens to hit. He's gotten really good at sneaking out and only leaving small "gone travelling, see you" note behind.

As a countermeasure, both Hyth and Hades sleep holding him really tight so he can't just dissappear to god knows where. Eleos doesn't seem to mind too much (but still manages to escape some nights)

All 3 spoil eachother so much but in completely different ways.

Emet overlooks so much of his husbands' mischief and no matter how busy, is always ready to give them his time if they want it

Hyth brings the other 2 interesting concepts from work as gifts

Eleos brings them whatever he find on his travels. He's especially good at picking things that pacify Hades' anger when he's done something stupid again.

We're making a sandwich out of this, we gonna start with aspects of MSQ that she likes, put all the MSQ shit she hates in the middle, and then we're gonna end with which sections of MSQ she enjoyed the most! :> Buckle up, friends, and let me spin you a bit of O'ravi's tale! 🥪☕

Best part of MSQ, as in "the aspects she likes the most": getting to meet such a huge variety of people, see all these incredible vistas, making a positive impact on people's lives, the friends she's made along the way, just- the incredible depths of love that she gets to experience. In some ways, it's her ultimate dream come true- she set out to become a minstrel, she wanted to see the heart of humanity, to learn of other cultures, she wanted to just...it's hard to put into words, but she wanted to live life to the fullest. To experience fully, to understand fully, it's sort of like- you know how Y'shtola's dream is to uncover the truths and secrets that lie at the heart of the world? O'ravi's dream is very very similar, except instead of being like, based on knowledge of the star, it's centered around people- their histories, their folklores and languages and songs, the love and loss and hope, the rage and sorrow and despair. O'ravi loves the star, but her truest love has always been people, not unlike Venat. And being the WoL is the only path that allows this dream to be reality.

Worst part of MSQ, as in "the aspects of it she doesn't like": she has a whole ass list and it is LONG. Really long, and it includes watching people die, people using her for their own political ends, having to put up with people she fucking hates, being everyone's Ace In The Hole, people making her play the kingmaker, people acting entitled to her time and energy (this is the biggest reason why she currently dislikes and distrusts Wuk Lamat T^T*), having to kill people literally constantly, the pain that all the fighting leaves her in and the toll it takes on her mind and body (she used to ignore it/not give a shit but she can't do that anymore)... Long story short, there is a Reason(TM) why she's a dark knight ldfkjghdkjgh, and she might be a paladin now but that doesn't mean she's hung up the greatsword. Far from it. (She has hung up Shattered Heart (formerly Zephirin's sword) though, much to Aymeric's relief fdklgjhdkgj. Not sure what sword is her main one now.)

*IT'S NOT REALLY WUK'S FAULT, O'RAVI IS JUST REALLY FUCKED UP AND HAS BEEN BURNT TOO MANY TIMES BEFORE 😭 I believe that she means well and is just overenthusiastic but O'ravi 100% does not, tbh she almost resents Wuk Lamat for sins that she hasn't even committed yet, just on account of the way she, like, approached O'ravi like the fact that she was gonna agree to help her was already a done deal and assumed the answer would be "sure let's go" without really even considering the possibility that she could - and had the right to - say no....

Worst part of MSQ, as in "time that sucked the most": base Endwalker and Stormblood (base + patches). Somehow those ended up being a lot worse and a lot harder than post-Vault Heavensward, because at least in Heavensward she had the support of her friends and the Fortemps, it was a conflict she had very personal stakes in and no one was forcing her to be there (unlike SB), and she had hope that she could save Estinien. Endwalker was just....a different can of worms which I'm putting under a cut in a bit.

Stormblood was bad because she absolutely did NOT want anything to do with that war and she didn't believe for a second that winning it was possible (Nidhogg and the Horde had reasons she could understand and she was still semi-naive and optimistic back then, but the Empire felt incomprehensible and unstoppable and she'd become extremely pessimistic by then). She just wanted to go back home to Ishgard and be left alone to grieve her friends. To sum up her biggest issue with Stormblood: Hien found it odd that she was dead silent most of the time, and he once asked for her thoughts about his plan to flood Doma Castle. Her answer amounted to "I don't have any thoughts because there's no point in thinking, it's not my job- I'm just here to be a good obedient weapon and kill whatever you tell me to. Why would I waste my time having an opinion on something when what I feel/think/need doesn't matter to anyone?"

Yeah it was really fucked up lfdkjgfdghldk. (For the record, I do like Stormblood, this is all just O'ravi's feelings about it, and they're extremely negative because it was the lowest point of her life by a landslide. She was overwhelmed by trauma and grief and it kind of broke her, she was afforded no time to process anything that happened before she was thrown into war as the Alliance's #1 Weapon. Her opinions are not my opinions, please don't come at me FKJGLHDKGJH)

Endwalker fucking sucked because uhh.....well. She held herself personally responsible for the Final Days. The rest of this is going under a cut!

It's kinda hard to get into details but between the time loop and the fact that she personally slew Zodiark, not only does she believe the blood of everyone who became blasphemies is on her hands, she also believes she doomed the Ancients - and Azem, personally - and sacrificed them on the altar to save her own people, her own timeline, her own life. She considers herself the root of all Final Days-related suffering and death both for the Ancients and for modern Etheirys, and the whole time she's practically praying that she'll be killed to end the Final Days. She believes that fate demands it- that all she is MUST die to redress the balance. If everyone else were to flee on the moon, she would be obligated to remain on Etheirys until the bitter end, because she caused this. She burned the world. All of it is her fault, she deserves to die, and there is no ending to this story in which she lives. For her to survive would be an affront to the gods, to fate, to the people she's wronged, to everyone that ever lived. She adamantly refuses to listen to anyone who says otherwise or any evidence to the contrary fgljkdhk.

I know in-game the narrative treats the concept of WoL becoming a blasphemy as kind of a joke because in what world would that ever happen lol, but uhhhh, it does almost happen to O'ravi after what I call her day from hell (the Final Days of Thavnair, where Ahewann dies and Matsya's friends are killed and he and his friends' baby almost turn to blasphemies, etc). She has a breakdown after the meeting with Shirabaht and the dignitaries, and it takes the combined efforts of Ardbert, Estinien, and probably Fray to stop her from turning. The guilt and self-loathing and sheer fucking stress from all that happening just turned into wholesale despair. It only happened that once, though.

The only reason Endwalker DOESN'T rank as being a worse time for her than Stormblood is, ironically, her unshakeable belief that she had to die at the end. Because dying at the end was her best shot at redemption and atonement, and the thought of being able to atone, even if only in part, became the hope she could hold onto. She wasn't sure if she could save Etheirys, but being able to give it her absolute all without the distraction of being worried about her survival was sort of a saving grace sdkjfhlkdjgh. Idk it's weird!!! It's a lot!!! It was a bad weird time!!!

Her other saving grace was whatever the fuck she had going on with Aymeric FKGJHDFLJGHD. That's a post for another day but the tl;dr of it is they had a sort of star-crossed lovers thing going, she threw caution to the wind and decided to kiss him and be open about how much she loved him despite the fact that they'd never get to be together the way they both wanted, they were sort of just making the most of the scraps of time they had because time was running out

Best part of MSQ, as in "time she enjoyed the most": ARR patches and the first round of ShB patches. The ARR patches were her highest point for a long time, she had everything she wanted, all the adventure and purpose and thrills she could ever want. It was also before grief shattered her and she was made to pick up the pieces, before most of her idealism and hope was ripped away from her. It wasn't perfect, though, much as she used to think it was.

The first round of ShB patches were for the most part such a joyful time? Norvrandt never for a moment took her for granted the way Eorzea does, and they don't idolize her to the point of dehumanizing her either. There's a sort of kinship that she has with the people of the First, because they've known such horrible loss and kept on living anyway, same as she has. It's more of an even playing field, as it were. She can breathe easier there. She was also sort of drunk on the joy of being reunited with G'raha and the fact they both survived; the very complicated feelings she had about Emet and Amaurot were sort of buried under that fdlkgjhdgjk. She loved helping people, and then getting to go home to the Source and reunite with the people she thought she'd never get to see again (Aymeric, the Fortemps, and her family most of all!), and so that all outweighed the problems of Elidibus's Weird Stupid Bullshit by a lot. Most of the second round of ShB patches were good too, but she was so emotionally fucked up by the Seat of Sacrifice (as well as her own insecurities getting really bad) that she couldn't enjoy those as much.
