You know, looking back at old issues from before Grant Morrison's run (both in mainline-canon and out), I just want to say that I really like Talia as one of Bruce's main loves. The pages below come from Batman Adventures Vol. 1 #13, in which a priceless statue was stolen from Ra's and so Bruce goes with Talia to Paris to get it back. Before they start searching, they have time to go sightseeing together.

After their time is cut short, they go looking, and they fall into a trap set by an old rival of Ra's who bought the statue, who then locks them in a burning hut.

Of course, they get out, take down every one, and get the statue, after which Batman let's on that he knew the statue itself isn't what's valuable.

There's just so much about them that works so well. I'd go into it more, but I think these pages speak for themself.

What is the darktoonverse?

Ah! The darktoonverse is just the cartoon, but you assume Lydia and BJ are already married and in a sexual relationship. The darktoonverse is largely built on the wedding ring included in Lydia's design sheet and the oodles of beetlebabes porn drawn BTS by the animators of Beetlejuice: the Animated Series. This team operated under Tim's direct supervision. They were all handpicked and vetted by him.

This is the fandom's worst kept secret.

Context: It's popular headcanon that in Beetlejuice, he got the ring on Lydia's finger and the priest said "and wife" right as the sandworm crashed through the ceiling. As of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, I still believe this to be the case.

Hello, I haven't really posted anything it feels like since last year. I've been incredibly busy with real life stuff and I still am AGHH. I want to try this tumblr thing just one more time (why is every platform in shambles rn /hj) Anyways, I had the honor of doing a trade with @intimatestrudelwrites !! (oc belongs to them!) I'm really happy with how these two turned out. I'm genuinely motivated to do more DC related artwork, perhaps I'll find some more time inbetween my uni work *cries*.. eventually

BtAS Riddler's question mark nose means everything to me

I really want to do something vastly different with Mad Hatter, but it's really hard to nail down exactly what defines him as a character and his motivations due to how heavily he's used as just a simple gimmick for a mind control story. Even the whole "kidnapping girls to be his Alice" isn't even part of his original motivations when he was first introduced! I don't mind it as a motivation, but I think at this point DC just uses it as a way to write the most sleazy grimdark shit imaginable and I'm honestly at the point where I want something entirely different with him. The dude barely has any backstory in anything outside of BTAS and Gotham, with the latter still pulling from the overused "Sexual Predator" angle and I'm just so tired.

Like, you can certainly do really dark and creepy content with mind-control without resorting to shock value! You can absolutely go into the inherent horror of being unable to stop yourself from being used as a simple tool for someone else to use and discard! The kidnapping girls to be his Alice angle isn't inherently bad writing, but I'm tired of it being his only motivation! Hell, you can even go really into the whole aspect of why Jervis is so focused on his Lewis Carroll fantasy and how it meshes with his mind control gimmick! You could go into a character gimmick of someone becoming so focused on their wish fulfillment fantasy that they drag others into it by force to play their part for him! If Jervis sees himself as playing the role of the Mad Hatter in his fantasy, maybe his mind control gimmick could be used as a way of making people play the part in the story if they don't act like how he wants them to. There's just so many potential ideas you could really do with Tetch as a character, but instead he's been stuck in the same old song and dance routine for the past few decades!

Thinking about the woobification of BTAS Mad Hatter (again)

Don't get me wrong, I have no ill will towards anyone who likes to imagine him very differently from canon. I just don't get it, I think he deserves more love as the character he canonically is; he's not a sweet person, he's manipulative and obsessive and that's fine!

Also let BTAS Mad Hatter be the absolute tall as fuck menace he deserves to be. Let him be taller than Scarecrow like he canonically is!

Why are we making him small & behave like a cuddly goofy kitten? What's the point of making BTAS Jervis the exact opposite of how he actually is in canon? That man looks like the Babadook's long lost brother ffs!!!

I used to really enjoy BTAS’ lockup as an episode and whilst I still do I can’t help but also dread whenever it comes into conversation because some billy mcgreesenton will always come out of the bushes to go ‘ehe. Bolton was kinda based though. 😂🤣😂🤣.’ No. No he was not.

Yes. Arkham has LAUGHABLE security but the man who sought out patients who were physically weaker than him to overpower, abuse and bully was not the solution to that issue. He is a good villain. But a villain nonetheless.
