I'm confused as well in how many people acted as Battalion S-2. I guess at war there is a lot of change or mixing of the duties. According to Webster's accounts, in Holland when Web and some other men were called to do a reconnaissance patrol, they were led by two S-2 men. Nix did the briefing only and when he arrived late to the briefing room, one of the S-2 men called Web and the others attention. So I guess the two S-2 men were lower-rank and attached to Nix, like Nix was the S-2 intelligence officer, but the S-2 men were NCOs? I looked up online trying to find info but no result, if anyone knows please...
List of intelligence officers in BOB
The ones we’ve known:
Nixon:  2d Battalion S-2 intelligence officer from April1943 to Jan 1945. (He might become battallion S-3 at some point after Market Garden, because when Winters poured piss on him, he was battallion S3). Regiment S-2 from Jan 1945 to March 1945, then demoted back to 2d Battalion S-2.
Hester:  2d Battalion S-3 intelligence officer since D-day. Then at some point before Nov 1944, Hester was promoted to regimental S-2, so Winters (with permission from Stray) moved Nixon from battallion S-2 to S-3. Hester later became the CO of the 1st batallion.
******
The less obvious ones:
Liebgott: he was so stressed in Bastogne so Winters briefly assigned him back to the division HQ to work in the S-2 (intelligence) section because he speaks fluent German. However, Winters then regretted this decision. Liebgott apparently tortured POWs during interogation due to his hatred against German soldiers.
Speirs: “ In Holland, Ron was the battalion S-2 Intelligence officer for Colonel Robert Strayer.” —- He got shot in the butt on reconnaissance (so he was indeed doing intelligence S-2′s job—-reconnaissance. I’m not sure whether he was also in charge of interogating POWs). Not sure how long he was in S-2 position. My question is, how many S-2 are there in one battallion? I thought Nixon was the S-2 for 2nd battallion during most timespan of the story. Does it mean Nixon and Speirs were co-workers for sometime? Nixon as S-3 and Speirs as S-2?
Ed Thomas: he was the new batallion S-2 of Winters after Nixon has been promoted to the regiment S-2.
Harry Welsh: he was wounded in Bastogne and came back in April 1945. Since then he was Winters’ batallion S-2 (What happened to Thomas??) [NOTE: in Guarnere’s book, he said that after he was wounded in Bastogne, Martin wrote a letter to him, telling him that now Speirs is the new CO of E-company, Welsh is batallion S-3 and Nixon is Regiment S-3]—- I feel they couldn’t remember who’s S-2 and who’s S-3. Maybe it’s not important.
William Leach: in April 1945 he was the regimental S-2. The war was near the end and Leach had never led a combat patrol (sounds like a common feature for intelligence officers?), so on 12th April he let his first combat patrol. Winters thought it’s a bad idea, an ego trip. All patrol group were killed by friendly fire from Fox company. The reason for this was Harry Welsh forgot to inform Fox company about the patrol. Winters blamed Harry Welsh for this senseless tragedy (on top of Moose Heyliger being shot by a sentry, which was also Harry’s fault)
********
Some more info:
At the time of “Final patrol”, when Winters was batallion XO, but his rank was still a captain. At the same time, Nixon has been promoted to regimental S-3 (or S-2)
Winters complained that at that stage of war, his batallion staff consisted of a S-1 only. He had no S-2 (Harry wounded), no S-3 (Nixon promoted) and no S-4 (logistics officer Afred Winter (no “s”)—-missing in Bastogne, and never appeared) )
Charles Bonning: batallion S-1 (personnel officer). He also did some S-4 duty.
Ralph D. Richey: Before Harry came back from hospital, Ralph D. Richey (from Fox company) was briefly attached to Winters as S-2. (That’s when the fake patrol happened). He also doubled as S1.

It's time for Bob questions 'cause he's the new blorbo in town lol
Did he always want to be a mechanic or did he want to do something different as a kid?
Does he have a favourite colour?
What does he like to do in his spare time? Does he read books, play games, watch tv?
What was he like as a kid? Was he less grumpy back then?
Does he have a favourite hobby?
Did he always like robots?
Bonus joke question:
On a scale of 1-10 how gay is he for dadler lol
BOBERTTTTTTTTT!!!! <3
Glad I'm getting Bobert questions. Lol I like the grump a lot.
Did he always want to be a mechanic or did he want to do something different as a kid?
I'm not for certain if Bob always wanted to be a mechanic or not. But I don't think he ever planned on working for Fazbar Entertainment. While Ted had childhood nostalgia for Foxy, and wanted to work with his robot blorbo, Bob doesn't have the same attachment for the place.
I don't think he went to college like Ted. If anything, the guy probably went to trade school or vocational school to get a practical job with a steady income and good benefits.
It wasn't really a "dream job" for him. It was more, "I'm good at fixing shit, and this is what I'm good at, so best to go all in than not"
I could see him being a guy who fucked around and modded with older cars a lot rather than invent anything himself.
He figured he would have probably worked as a factory mechanic fixing their automated machines but the Pizzaplex was hiring and he figured “working on robots would be cool”
Does he have a favorite color?
Pink...
Yes, really.
What does he like to do in his spare time? Does he read books, play games, watch tv?
He likes to read on occasion and watch TV about as much as the average person.
He likes watching crime drama shows and sitcoms. Sometimes those animal cop or I shouldn't be alive shows and documentaries.
He's more a casual gamer though. he doesn't own any major consoles or any major things on his PC or anything. He's more a guy who's into those little farming simulators he can have on his phone.... He avoids the monetary purchases tho.
He also likes to go on long walks and has recently taken up cooking a bit more.
What was he like as a kid? Was he less grumpy back then?
He was definitely MORE grumpy back then. Lol well, grumpy isn't the word for it.
More like, FULL OF RAGE.
He would often get into fights at school and had a lot of anger issues.
But he also had a magnetic personality that made you feel good being around him. Like if you were on his good side, and he liked you, he'd probably beat up whoever you asked or was picking on you. He usually beat up bullies and didn't hurt anyone for no good reason.
He was an alright student. His grades weren't honor roll or anything, but he passed by okay.
Does he have a favourite hobby?
Spoiler. :3
Did he always like robots?
He thought robots were kinda cool, but he grew a deeper appreciation working with Fazbear Entertainment and finding out all their little weird personality quirks.
It takes him a long time to start treating the Animatronics as people. (Like it's a multiple year long development that happens of screen) And you can see his dismissive attitude towards Sun and Moon in the first chapter of Lofi.
He gains a more deeper appreciation for the AI as time goes on.
On a scale of 1-10 how gay is he for dadler lol
Fucking 11.

I was going to tag ramble on this but now I'm needing to open discussion on it and my tags got to be a novel
I don't think Dick ever really mentioned being influenced at all by being raised so close to Gettysburg, but I can't imagine the local history wasn't something he didn't get in school. So I kind of feel that calling Welsh "Light Horse Harry" is his doing. Because Light Horse Harry Lee, Revoluntary war hero, was Robert E. Lee's Dad and a the reason Lee never drank. And that is mentioned in so many of the Lee biographies and Civil War histories, Lee didn't drink because his father was a drunk.
And "Frosty" sounds like something a guy who refers to his bestie as "Red-Headed Eskimo" would come up with. His friend who probably orders water on ice at the bar. Making me ask if that line was the writers or something Winters mentioned.
Also a good old American shoutout to Lewis Nixon for still calling himself Irish even though you have to go all the way back to 1755 to find a Nixon born in Ireland.

A list of members of E company, 506th from 1942-1945, from WWII Magazine. I noticed there is no one has the last name Winters except Dick. Now I remember seeing this photo online, re the "Keglers Club" at Blue Boar. I speculate maybe "Frosty" Winters is indeed Dick, although there has been debate about this. Maybe Dick just got dragged into this and let Nix or the other officers pick the nickname for him, I mean, it suits Dick. Maybe becuase it is just a joke so no one used it afterwards.
