Hey Witches! It's Time!!
Hey witches, this upcoming May 25-26, we will be hosting the virtual event Our Sorcery Hour for the second year, featuring a curated and diverse list of workshops from 10 different presenters who will teach you about their Craft.
This event is organized and collectively hosted by BIPOC and LGBTQIA members of the Craft. It is one of the few metaphysical events in which presenters are paid for their time, and a cut from each ticket goes directly to the Charity DIRECT RELIEF. DIRECT RELIEF is one of the few charities worldwide that uses 100% of the money it raises for the cause and not for bureaucratic paperwork.
The small cost of this event makes it easily accessible to practically everybody interested. It also supports our collective cause of creating a safe space for seekers of Magic while the teachers are rightfully compensated for their valuable time.
Tumblr media
This Year 2024 we are featuring as presenters the incredible: - Daphne la Hechicera Author of Mexican Sorcery. - Mawiyah Kai EL-Jamah Bomani author of 'Conjuring the Calabash'. - Emma Kathryn author of 'Season Songs' and 'Witch Life'. - Thumper Forge co-author of 'Virgo Witch' for Llewellyn Worldwide - Jezmina Von Thiele, co-host of the Romanistan podcast. - Laura González host of Tarot by Laura González and Lunatic Mondays for Circle Sanctuary - Ylva Mara Radziszewski aka Bimboyaga, author of 'A Practical Guide for Witches'. - Aly Kravetz aka BronxWitch Creator of BronxWitch HeadQuarters - And some more to confirm with you soon witches & brujas.
Sponsorship If you own a Witchy Business and you are looking for sponsorship, just contact us. Last year, our event attracted over 200 participants, and the virtual program had 964 downloads in just two weeks.

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for more shops to add to this list. Any suggestions, gentlefolks? I'm open to anything that would fit here, as I want to expand the resources available and help promote these shops to the best of my ability.
Thanks!
BIPOC Metaphysical Shops & Support
Despite all of the controversy surrounding Open and Closed Practices, I think we can all agree that BIPOC shops and communities within our shared metaphysical world are grossly underappreciated and underrepresented.
That's why this post exists. I want to keep a running list of shops, foundations, and anything else that helps promote and add visibility to our often overlooked, ignored, and neglected community members.
This also serves a second purpose as a resource for in-person learning. No matter where you fall on the Open/Closed Practice debate, I believe everyone should take every opportunity they can to learn from the individuals who belong to those communities and traditions. This is the only way we can truly learn to respect one another and grow as both people and practitioners.
Do you own or know of a shop, foundation, or other resource where practitioners can support this cause? Send me a recommendation and I'll add it to the list!
DISCLAIMER: Right now, this post is going to be limited to BIPOC shops and support resources. I'm still figuring out the best way to do the same thing for Judaism, Hinduism, and other religions that are often appropriated. I'm not sure if I'll have multiple posts or one big one yet, but don't worry - I haven't forgotten you!
American Shops
Big Liz Conjure - "We are the first solely Black, woman owned spiritual/metaphysical/occult storefront in Central Ohio. While our primary focus is Hoodoo and the needs of ATR practitioners, our goal is to have something for everyone’s occult and metaphysical practices. We are adding to our offerings weekly!"

Those conservative Weeaboos are so weird
Can I talk about something?
I recently find myself always so fucking confused when I see those conservative Weeaboos on Twitter. You know the kind. The kind who go on about how Anime and Manga are the "one kind of media not touched by woke!" and hence also going on about how anime and manga is pure for that reason.
Meanwhile I am sitting here like: "... Do you even watch anime/read manga?" Because, tbh quite a few anime and manga these days have a lot more diversity than most of what I see in western media.
I see it most in terms of depictions of trans characters and disabled characters. Like, I struggle to name you important several trans main characters in western media. In Anime/Manga? Not a problem. I can tell you a variety from a variety of genre, too. Some going back to the fucking 80s and 90s no less.
Disabled characters are even more noticable. Especially during those last few years quite a few anime and manga released with explicitly disabled main characters. Again, throughout a variety of genre. Characters in wheelchairs. Characters using other mobility aids. Blind characters. Characters who are hard of hearing. Neurodiverse characters.
Meanwhile the best I can come up with in western media is Glee (and man, I hate Glee), as well as a couple of vaguely neurodiverse characters.
And I mean... by now we are also at the point where a good chunk, if not most anime/manga will also feature some non-white and non-Japanese characters, as well as some other queer characters in the background of it.
So, really... I cannot help but look at those Weeaboos and be like: "I am sorry, if you want less diversity... maybe actually go back to watching western cartoons. Because people in the west for some reason still give a shit, when American conservative parents have a breakdown over two boys kissing."

Shadow Work Questions for BIPOC
✨How have societal expectations and stereotypes influenced your self-perception?
✨ In what ways have you internalized historical or systemic injustices, and how does it manifest in your daily life?
✨ Are there aspects of your identity or experiences that you may be avoiding or suppressing?
✨ How has the concept of “respectability politics” shaped your behavior and choices?
✨ Reflect on instances where you may have internalized prejudices or biases. How do they impact your relationships and worldview?
✨ How do you navigate code-switching, and what impact does it have on your authenticity?
✨ Consider experiences of intergenerational trauma within your family. What are its influences on your beliefs and behaviors?
✨ Reflect on any internalized messages about success, worth, and beauty. How do they shape your goals and self-esteem.
✨ Are there parts of your heritage or cultural identity that you may have neglected or rejected? Why?
✨ How do you handle and express anger, particularly in response to systemic issues or personal challenges?

So a video went viral this week of a Neo Nazi at a five guys in Vermont who came in and harassed and attacked a Hispanic worker. He called him “b*aner” (a slur against Hispanic and Latino people) 10+ times, and on top of this, did the sig heil (nazi salute) multiple times. The Hispanic man who was being victimized, a single father, posted the video to social media, where he was promptly fired from five guys for quote “instigating and attacking the beliefs of a customer”. Yes, you heard this correctly, he was FIRED FOR RESISTING A RACIST ATTACK FROM A NAZI. Make no mistake, this will become more and more common as hate crime protection laws are repelled by the trump admin, and queer, Latino, black, female, ect employees will be forced to bare attacks agaisnt them and their humanity by racists and nazis because if they don’t, they can be fired for retaliating. This is trumps America, this is fascism. I’m sorry for the political posts today, but this is important for queer, POC, and other minorities like me to know as we are reaching the ages in which we are going to have to start entering the workforce sooner or later. We will not be allowed to defend ourselves anymore, because the racist and homophobic nazis are now in control of our rights and voices. They have won. We have lost. But don’t stand down, boycott five guys, boycott ANY corpo shitstain that runs with fascism and hatred to protect profit margins. EQUAL RIGHTS EQUAL FIGHTS, PUNCH A NAZI TODAY!

Like, as much as I understand the appreciation for men with long hair nowadays, remember that for many native cultures around the world, men having long hair was or has been the customary norm for centuries.
Hair has long held spiritual and/or ethnical significance for many groups of indigenous people of various cultures since ancient civilizations. For many people of color, long hair doesn't mean or imply femininity at all.

September was a good month for reading ! I've already started on my first October book, Black Leopard Red Wolf. I can tell you right now it's unlike anything I've read before, is dark as heck, and I'm loving it.
I've got three books under my belt for the 23for23 challenge so far, here's to twenty more. 📚🏳️‍🌈👏

As is tradition every year… Your Favorites White-Witchcraft is All Political-modern influencers, getting ready to go in a fascinating and very political radio silence throughout all Black History Month in 3… 2… 1…
A reminder:
During this Black History Month, please remember the fact that people of color exist year-round and the consequences of colonization and slavery, while still living, are neither resolved by purchasing a Black History Month item nor are these consequences ignored. "for being something of the past".

Hi! I own a server for spirituality and religion that's heavily centered on inclusion and the de-appropriation of magical practices. So far, my members have absolutely loved your inclusive emojis. Could I request a black witch emote (nothing crazy, probably just a person with a little witch hat)? Thank you!
hey there! i hope these are what you are looking for :D i may make a short hair version soon
