About dreams interpretation in my book DREAM WITCHERY and why I didn't give so much space to this topic.
*Anyway after reading this, if you feel interested in knowing more; you can order my book (everywhere books are sold) or simply repost this thread keeping a positive discussion.
When I was writing my book 'Dream Witchery: Folk Magic, Recipes & Spells from South America for Witches & Brujas' years ago my focus was essentially two things:
1~ Dream's Sorcery & Spellwork from its basics to advanced.
2~ Folklore from South American indigenous people surrounding the topic.
I did this book essentially for two reasons; 1st honor my people - as native person myself - born in Guainía, Amazonas. And 2nd; teach that Spellwork through dreams and sleep time is equally effective and traditional, but you don't know it cuz no white author wanted to talk about it 🙄🤌🏼
Most books on WitchCraft barely grasp dreams magic from a very distant perspective. Half of those books just teach you to put charms under your pillow, and the other half just see everything dreams related as a form of *spontaneous premonition* never encouraging you to explore deeper.
In South America, especially in Brazil and Venezuela, we used to work with visitors from all parts of the world coming to try Ayahuasca, Cacao rituals, our popular tobacco ceremonies, and limpias in the river. We teach a lot about herbs, ancestry, and dreams, including functional Spellwork on this.
Anyway, when we focus on dream interpretation, our focus doesn't go deeper. As many native indigenous priests will tell you very respectfully; western culture spends too much to try to 'understand' dreams, when the problem is; you're trying to understand it, to control it. And what you should try; Is not looking for understanding dreams as a generic thing, but as a deeper and individual spiritual language of your own, if instead to try to control it, you surround yourself to it, and you accept the fact that these *visions* are more than what a book says, you'll find power in them.
The western perspective on dreams - from a magical perspective - Is that dreams are essentially just visions of the future.
In our traditions, and I know this is a wide statement cause there are many different aboriginal tribes in Amazonas, but widely; we consider dreams as something more personal.
When you go with a dream interpreter of my original wayúu tribe, or with the guaranis, the dream interpreter will never limit itself to say "this means this and that", guiding itself from a book. And I'm not saying that it does not work, but I clearly think it is a very limited vision.
Why are dreams interpretations the smallest chapter in my book 'Dream Witchery'?
~ Cause if I wanted to write about dreams interpretations, and I have tried before, I couldn't give you a simple chapter, this would be more like an entire book, not a boring long 200k words encyclopedia, but a small book
Will definitely be a book on how you, taking the work of a dream interpreter, a serious priest of the visions, take the time to surrender to know that you know nothing.
Basically because of two things:
1st. to make an interpretation we make a serious preparation, meditation, deep long sounds, prepare an especial incense formula, different for every client/person, and we even consider the hours of the day to make the interpretation right. And we always ask for written notes from the dreamer.
2nd. To make an interpretation we always start asking the person - cause CONTEXT IS KING - what these symbols represent for this person, not for us.
And context is seriously important in an interpretation, let me tell you why.
Every mind is a different world, every person coming to you is a different world of experiences, dreams, memories, ancestry, legacy, fears, frustrations, nightmares, ideas, lessons.
Every customer comes to you with giant equipment in their minds.
Again; CONTEXT IS KING, because context is everything
Every person coming to you descends from a different background, culture, history, and family, what for me represents the water, for you is probably not the same.
And as a Witch/Brujo who have taking so multiple different initiations in the past, I can tell you; Practically every tradition of witchcraft approaches everything in a different way, from the way to work with the elements to the way to summon or interact with different spirits or to work with your ancestors. And with dreams, the same, approach is different.
The two examples I always do here are the next; weddings and insects you can see in your dreams. There significance is incredibly different, and you can't just jump to conclusions about it when you're doing a reading about it for a customer, let me tell you how different they are:
As I think I mentioned in my book dream witchery; cause living in the Amazonas you literally interact every day with many different persons from different tribes and from different cities from Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Venezuela. When someone comes telling you they dream with a wedding 💍
In certain parts of Colombia; dreaming with a wedding simply means marriage, but also Abundance, an effective finalization of a cycle.
While in Venezuela, many times a wedding is a bad omen, considered (and many times results true) death.
In Venezuela, especially outside of the Capital, if you dream of a wedding, that essentially means 'lady death' or 'mother death' (la flaquita) is coming to kiss you and take you to her kingdom. While in the capital, Caracas, which is heavily culturally influenced by Spaniards and Portuguese people.
Dreaming of a wedding is considered an omen of abundance, union, expansion of a business of a family, is commonly listened to in any family reunion when someone mentioned to dream with a wedding; that a woman is pregnant and the wedding is coming (for obvious reasons).
Now the contrary example; if you dream with funerals or any form of funerary rituals ⚱️ and coming from a country where (different to USA) the indigenous community is so well blended with everybody else culturally; we are talking about +200 different ways of traditional indigenous funerary rituals.
Dreams associated with funerals usually means two things, and not of these things are death.
One, is ancestry, your ancestors are desperately looking for ways to contact you. And 2nd; initiation, that's the meaning for regional brujos and espiritistas, literally means 'is your time to ascend'.
When a spiritual worker ( #espiritista) or a folk witch ( #brujo) dreams with funerals, usually means this person needs Initiation know, and many times this dream present itself to people who refuses to take initiation for personal reasons. So it is many times considered a warning for the priests.
I mentioned it was a second example after the wedding example.
Dreaming with cockroaches.
And I'm talking about the insects, not about awful people who constantly support and proudly endorse white people making money through appropriation of other cultures for money.. even if they are similar 🥴🫢🤷🏼‍♂️
Dreaming with cockroaches has many different interpretations for every culture, but I like (at least on this one) stay in my line and just approach this kind of disgusting vision from the perspective of my own culture (s) and tradition(s).
I remember the few times I visited Brazilian communities, this dream was always considered an omen of illness and possibly death. Which has a certain logic, after all; we are talking about insects that cause a neurological reaction of fear and disgust in many people. Anyway...
In Venezuela, and also many parts of Colombia, and I said this very confident based on my innumerable interactions with Colombian spiritual workers through the years.
We come from countries with a socially difficult political structure, we overcame financial adversity and also survived extremely long governments staying in power illegally, which get us back to the concept of imperialism, the Spain, Italian, and Portuguese Monarchy, etc...
While cockroaches can look disgusting, they also represent excess, excess of food and garbage... And I talked about this in a recent interview.
I think it was my talk w/ Aly Kravetz from the podcast 'Good Witch' (is on YouTube I think), for countries like ours (Venezuela, Peru, Colombia) where the population is so divided by money more than for politics like in the USA.
Cockroaches are associated with abundance and excess.
Cause the rich used to sent their drivers very long way to throw their garbage in the poor towns or small cities. So culturally, dreaming with this insects actually is actually an impactful good omen, means the Abundance and Prosperity are driving in your way to take it, practically knocking; Any native Venezuelan #brujos will tell you that if you dream with this insects, you need to shower with love oils and keep a magnet on your pocket, cause money is coming to you and you want *money* loves you and fall magnetized by you.
Anyway, if an American person (for example) comes to me asking for an interpretation, and this is what they dream of, I will start asking (ok, please write down what this means for you, according to you), and after that, to avoid any bias, I'll tell them what means in my culture, just x reference.
When we talk about the Art of Dreams Interpretation (oh my, that should be a perfect title if one day I do the book, lol), remember, CONTEXT IS KING, and always ask for written notes from the dreamer/customer cause during the day their minds will start filling blank spaces and modify their OG vision.
That's why it is so important, and underrated?, keeping a dream journal next to your bed. Of course, you possibly think you don't need it cause you don't have dreams so often. But when you have them, especially if you are a witch, a healer, or any form of magical/spiritual worker, is key to have it.
Cause your mind and your practice will enhance your visions and dreams to another level, another level for which nobody is giving you instructions, cause your experiences will be unique for you, and if your deities or ancestors are looking to communicate with you, using the dreams path for that.
They're gonna design and manufacture each #dream and vision especially for you, using elements you and just you can recognize, not someone else.
I didn't want to focus my book on dreams magic into this path, cause if I tried, I'll end writing an entire book on the topic, and that was not my goal.
Anyway, if you grab a copy of Dream Witchery, you'll find practical and effective exercises to enhance your visions, instructions to create a different #dreamjournal, many different #dreampillows, and also multiple combinations of herbal #incense to empower your ability to read dreams.
The idea was not 'hey, here is another book encyclopedia on dreams signs' but 'hey, this gonna help you to enhance your own way to dream, and understand your own way to read your dreams', but also to master an old magical art of communication with your ancestors through #dreamsmagic and sorcery.

Hey WITCH IN REBELLION 🖤✊🏼🔥 Whatever makes you feel rightfully connected with something bigger than yourself, and bigger than your pride, whatever it is lighting candles, meditating, holding your crystals, carving charms, mixing your oils, burning herbs...
Whatever makes you feel you are making a positive change for something bigger than you, that's your work today, and everyday.
And may your pantheon find you busy doing it, and not just pretending to do it.

Under a cold today 🤧 needed to cancel my trip to the city 🫤 I was really excited about it.
So, Resting at home, just a day to make content, and getting ready for 1st Year Anniversary of my book DREAM WITCHERY in Dec 8th 🥰🌺
Note aside : My book Dream Witchery is right now discounted on AMZN (-23%) for those folks who are looking to save some money during the holidays.
At least a couple of folks reach me about having a book over $22 in the bookstores which is apparently this days kinda *difficult* to buy, cause every book out there is around $16, anyway we are talking about a 400 pages book 🤷🏼‍♂️ is not your typical 160-250 pages book, and bookstore owners and employees need to eat too, just like you, remember that.
I feel grateful for the fact, that independently of that, my book, a year after, is still available in so many bookstores everywhere.
I have shared publicly the pictures of my book present in festivals and big book events everywhere, which actually is kinda cool 😎🥰
While other authors for some reason can't find their own books in their own local bookstores 🫤
I wish we could help more on that, that's why I created in 2017 'Solitary Witch Books" on Instagram, to support Authors who are not always the typical white cis male bestseller who don't need more promoting but have it anyway 🤷🏼‍♂️ cause as community, we love to talk about supporting minorities and then we run to just endorse majorities and narcissists, whatever if they are abusers or care about you or not 🙄
Anyway, If you would like to have a signed copy of my book DREAM WITCHERY just order one on AMZN or your favorite bookstore, ship it to me and I'll sign it and send it back to you 🖤

Because I see so much like this this morning 👇🏼
Some of you need a sweet reminder that, Internet witches are like magicians, revealing only a carefully curated illusion for you.
And that little illusion is what you're taking the time to judge, whatever they ask or not for your not-so-humble opinion.
The real magic lies beneath a beautiful and strong surface, in practices too deep for casual understanding, or for pictures.
Next time you see a spell or ritual someone else put out there, appreciate the artistry, and the fact that the person doing it considers you important enough to see it, and they share with you the time and dedication they put into it.
Do not forget that the true power is often hidden from view.
Also remember, they are sharing in their virtual space, it is not different from decorating the exterior of your house with totems you like.
Nobody is asking for your opinion 🙂
Judging the practices of others just based on what they choose to show you, says much more about you and your superficial unnecessary triggered judgement than about they 🙂
Have a nice day 🥰❤️

Hey witches! Hallows Eve & Día De Muertos are at the door, is totally okay if you don't feel prepared or ready to do anything, it is a sacred time to connect with the dead, but, you are the one able to know how your personal connection with your ancestors feels right now.
Maybe you feel that social pressure to do something, maybe you feel ready to set up your altar for Día de Muertos, light candles and incense, make some prayers, bake a bread, or maybe you feel the energy right now is kinda off, that's totally on you, and no one is entitled to judge your decisions on this.
Samhain 🎃 is our sacred time to connect ourselves to the roots and act as an anchor for our ancestors beyond the veil, anyway, life on earth requires a ton of mental strength and we are all living at complex times, your ancestors know that and they understand that, don't give that for granted. If you don't feel the energy calling you right now to do something, that's okay.
Anyway, whatever you are able to do or don't, I wish you a beautiful time of All Hallows Eve and may you feel the warm embrace of all your ancestors around you.
Have a great Hallows Eve/Halloween Time.

Hey HEARTS 🧡 My book Dream Witchery is almost 1-year old, If you haven't purchased a copy, check the link below, and if you did, I'll appreciate you taking five minutes to leave a review on AMZN or Goodreads, which will be very helpful for my book.
In 2024 your reviews are what keep our books alive and in print, we don't have as many books in print by bipoc, latin American or indigenous descendant writers as we wish; on my book 'Dream Witchery: Folk Magic, Recipes & Spells from South America for Witches & Brujas' I have the chance to enhance as many witches and brujas as possible, blended with our indigenous Latin American folklore and rituals.
Again, if you have not grabbed your copy yet, check this link below 👇🏼 and if you did, you just need 2-5 minutes to write a review for other possible readers to find it.
THANKS ❤️🧡💛

Three Old spells to enhance dreams/night magic.
For Hispanic Heritage Month ~ Three Old magical spells from the Venezuelan Amazonas to enhance dreams/night magic.
My most recent book, Dream Witchery, was finally published almost a year ago, and the DM conversations about it have been truly enriching and nourishing on multiple levels.
Many of these conversations revolve around two specific topics: spells and charms and dream interpretation, which I've already written about in this other post (Click Here to Read it). Another topic I'd like to discuss is dream walkers and lucid dreaming, but the book handles this topic well, and I haven't felt I need to expand on it any further.
Anyway, while I know many of these spells, nobody's gonna practice them, lol, and I need to understand that is not my concern. Many others are looking for more information to integrate into their practice, which is something I'm here for.
Tumblr media
Magic dolls hang on the balcony. They were created during the past new moon and filled with a blend of dried powdered herbs and flowers for protection and clairvoyance, keeping us warned and shielded against enemies and their bad intentions. They hang on the balcony in the east direction of the house (air, communication, visions) to spread their energy around the property.
So here are some spells of everyday use for you focused on Night & Dreams magic.
I. Night vision.
A common practice in the Guajira (modern wayuu people in the cities) tribe of the Amazon is night vision. Yes, it sounds funny. The real name is 'Takuma Tiko,' which translates to... (surprise, surprise...)... night vision, lol. Takuma means "something you can see," and Tikoi means 'something dark, something hidden, something in the night. '
It consists of a practical divinatory exercise that involves entering a dark room or one with very little light and simply lighting a candle (traditionally, the candle is anointed with a drop of bird's blood, but we can skip that part for obvious reasons), lighting a small bonfire on the ground or a cauldron with a small bundle of dried herbs collected at dusk, or more specifically, "plants collected with the last light of the day."
You visualize the shapes of the smoke in the darkness, focus your eyes, and breathe deeply into the smoke and its contours around the candle. This ritual is performed twice weekly for an entire lunar cycle (3 to 4 weeks).
Traditionally, we wouldn't tell anyone to "carry a notebook" or "keep track of everything you see." Still, in the modern world, we know that specific recommendations work, so take notes and check your progress.
II. The mask to protect yourself.
In all forms of witchcraft, there are so-called 'witchy wars,' in the old school, kinda interesting wars between witches cursing each other with real spells and sending hexes to others; even you could quickly know when you were part of a witchy war because you see it in nightmares and visions, nothing like these modern "witchy wars" more based on basic bitches sharing boring screenshots via DM and looking to "cancel people?" or some shit like that, but online, nothing magical or interesting (precisely like them) just a dull sea of lies and manipulation and the most prominent display of narcissism and gaslighting.
In the old school, when these witchy wars happened, you saw actual witches meeting in the night and working together, sharing formulas, exchanging books with notes in them, etc. My mom has never been the friendliest person in the neighborhood or in the witchy groups, so yes, she was always "fighting" some mystical enemies or removing curses that kept us all awake all night. And my lord of the night, I have many stories.
My mother's divination method uses tobacco, and if you have been to a proper divination session (here is more information), you know that the answers are pretty specific. It is pretty different from tarot or runes; it is more of a system of "Q&A" and interpretation of images in the ashes.
One old trick witches did when you were trying to reveal the identity of a brujo was asking the tobacco to reveal their identity. I clearly remember when Mom repeatedly said, "I see nothing." Then Aura, a friend of Mom's, told her this person was masked, and I was curious and listening. She explained to us something curious: when a witch wants to curse you, send you deaths and curses, and wants to keep her identity a secret from the "Reversals," it involved putting on a mask made of black cloth during the night ritual to send the curse in the direction of one's enemies, and to ensure that the curse would not return.
III. A basic protection spell.
You'll find different regional variations of this simple recipe in many books on Espiritismo and Brujeria (not to be confused with Western Witchcraft).
It consists of keeping a glass with clean water under the bed. Depending on the different traditions of magic they follow, this glass of water can be accompanied by a pair of scissors opened in the shape of a cross, two knives crossed over each other, a lemon cut into four parts, or five cloves of garlic.
My own variation of this spell is to keep the glass with clean water that I renew every night before going to sleep, with 3-5 drops of myrrh or frankincense essential oil, a piece of crystal quartz, and a small piece of amethyst placed next to the glass of water.
For more context or to dive deeper into the topic, read These are the questions I get most often about Dream Witchery and The Dream Interpreter: A Bridge Between Worlds in the Amazon.

About my book Dream Witchery 🖤
This chapter felt more like it was another introduction to the world of Magic & Sorcery for newbies.
Humanity and language evolve gradually and constantly, all our words and spells are made up based on what we know and what we believe. Old *bad language* ends all the time turning into part of our own street talking and even work talking.
We can spend days and years defending exhaustingly the origin and linguistic root of each word, but that is not going to stop us as humans from evolving and giving other uses to each term, words like "bruja", Witch, sorcerer, medium, have different uses in different societies and different cultures and their countries.
Ten years ago we used the term "brujo" (folk Latin American magic practitioners) as a simple direct translation of the word "witch", but now we have been using it in the right context not erasing more our cultural and linguistic differences.
I personally have never liked the term warlock, it is a word whose meaning and origin we vaguely know based on what someone else wrote and thought it could mean based on a historical and cultural context, however today many choose to use this term for one reason or another, and not just English-Speakers. Still, depending on the country, these terms change radically.
In Venezuela, we would only call a rejected person or an oath breaker a Warlock. It is not an insult, but a warning to others to let them know "this person is an oath breaker, someone who will reveal all the secrets of your circle, don't trust them", but that is more a cultural context than a historical one.
If you do a brief online search about Covens or images of them, what you will find most is information about circles of women venerating certain figures of Christianity during the night, or groups of "mostly" women venerating a pagan divinity, and in most of these representations they are white women of a certain age and social group.
However, today we have Covens with members of all races and colors and different origins. There can be a complete Coven made by men or a complete Coven without strict religious association to a specific esoteric tradition, simply dedicated to venerating a broader version of divinity.
Again, language evolves, humanity evolves, writing this little informative chapter and including it in the book opened the doors for me to not only limit myself to reading the dictionary and a couple of encyclopedias, but also to ground the language at the level of a much more modern social and cultural context; "this is what this word means in theory, but how - furthermore - do people use these terms in their daily lives?"
It’s fascinating to see how words like “bruja” or “warlock” have changed over time. They started out with specific meanings, but now people use them in different ways. It’s like language is a living thing, growing and changing along with us.
By looking at how people use these words today, we can see how our understanding of magic and sorcery has evolved. It’s inspiring to think that even ancient ideas can still be relevant and meaningful to us today.
It's clear that language is a powerful tool that can help us understand the world around us. By exploring the evolution of words like 'bruja' and 'warlock,' we can gain a deeper appreciation for the diversity of human thought and experience."

Yeah, that Sephora witch kit thing that’s going around?

Christian Day’s “public” apology (which isn’t publicly visible as of this post, 9/9/2014) struck many as bland and inauthentic, coming not from a place of genuine remorse for his actions but motivated purely by the bad press he’s been receiving.  Community support matters in niche markets and Christian was no doubt feeling the pressure from widespread disgust at his willingness to make callous threats and perpetuate rape culture.  Even more telling is his request that folks keep these issues private, as so not to “hurt the Craft” – not to hurt his reputation and pocketbook, more like.
Most telling, however, are the screenshots of comments from Christian’s then-public personal FB page in the hours and days following his original missive against Amorella Moon/Amanda.  Seems our friend Christian *isn’t* as sorry as he claims to be, given his doubling-down about offering no apologies, having no regrets, answering vitriol with vitriol (original conversation can be analyzed for supposed vitriol here: http://cowardlychristianday.tumblr.com/post/96580947717), and suggesting that people deserve to be on the receiving end of his actions because of “poke[ing] the beast.”

So, this should be kinda private conversation about the money struggles in the metaphysical community, but anyway I think it is something interesting to share with all of you.
I just received today my latest check from my past publisher WRRB. When you receive a check for your books this comes with your lifetime copies sold for every copy in every format of your books.
My book 'The Magical Art of Crafting Charm Bags' published in 2017 has sold almost 6k copies at May of 2024 (7 years), while my book 'Manifestation Magic' published in 2021 has sold over 6k copies at May 2024 (3 years).
This tells you a lot about where the interest is, but also the focus on the metaphysical community, for bad and for good.
Take into account that I didn't have those years a large community support, zero publisher's support on promotion, they don't even post my books on their Instagram or Facebook, and I didn't make any interviews before 2022 cuz my English sucks - even worse than now 😂 - so practically all the marketing strategy was myself posting on socials everyday and setting up signing book for myself in each local store I knew.
I find really curious how the topic of Money Magic still been such a taboo in the metaphysical community, in 2024, to the point that people rather buy these books and remain silent about it, cuz people feels judged by everyone when they use publicly the words Money or Abundance, which tell you also a Loooot about the damaged mindset in a community that should not be judging others by their struggles.
Which is literally the reason why I wrote that book on Money Magick for Witches and energy workers, cuz in 2024 still a taboo talking about it, to the point that when you just barely get close to the topic of conversation, every white person in the room gaslight you associating your beliefs on Abundance & Prosperity with 'Toxic Positivity', entirely ignoring the fact that bipoc creators and witches still been who have more financial struggles in this same community.
You'll never find, or at least in eight years I had not find, a simple bipoc creator trashing the topic on Abundance or Money Magic and calling it 'Toxic Positivity', white men are the ones always saying that, obviously from a place of privilege and entitlement, and this is not racism, I don't even know now the right term for this, but obviously is a ton of privilege in going around saying to bipoc practitioners 'you can't do or talk about money cause this is toxic' while ignoring the reason.
Anyway, my point is, the fact that one book on Charm Bags which still a favorite of the bookstores everywhere, had sold 'almost' what a A book on Money Magic has sold in half of the time - seven years vs three years - tell you about how much this community is still struggling with accepting the fact that we are living a physical experience in physical bodies and money (independently of your social or financial position) should not be a taboo of conversation in the spiritual community.
Anyway here below I leave for you the links for both of my books if you want to know more about what I do and what I teach, and want to continue supporting my work and content;

3. Dream Witchery: Folk Magic, Recipes & Spells from South America for Witches & Brujas.

I mean, how many white male podcasters and white male event organizers and white male bloggers and writers we have saying to bipoc practitioners things like 'believing in the law of attraction and talking about abundance is just spreading toxic positivity'?.
Cuz I just counted 14 the last week, so supposedly brown & black witches can't do money spells?, cause white people with a bigger following dislike it?
Is a lot of privilege on doing that, and some inner colonialism attitude also 🙄

About WEALTHY WITCHES SUMMIT ✨
Writing down the last details for this FREE CLASS on Friday and taking an hour of practice to set up the time for this workshop. We are gonna discuss here 12 Steps & Spells for Money Magic.
A first part of the workshop is theory, entirely focused on understanding the deep concepts of Abundance and Prosperity, breaking Old Patterns and removing Obstacles affecting how money arrives at our hands.
A second part of the workshop is practice, crafting some new, practical, and really easy-to-do yet seriously effective Money Spells and working a relationship with deities of Abundance & Wealth.
Tumblr media
To master this workshop something important I did was rewatching one by one all my workshops on Money Magic from the past three years a week ago taking notes, and read the Spellwork section of my own book Manifestation Magic and then try to deconstruct each spell to their essence to realize what's the correlation between them and their different purpose, the goals to achieve on each one, and the inspiration behind each spell and each ritual and how effective was one each ritual.
Note aside and not related with the event, I mentioned before, when was writing that book I focused on 21 Spells, is implied in the title of the book if you look for it on AMZN, I didn't want to made up a thousand of spells as other authors do, I just wanted to put together and explain the 21 money spells that worked for me, to find my job, to increase my business, to promote my work, to buy my house, to attract customers and to call people to my personal business.
The best part of this, I have this spectacular money candle from 3 Crows Conjure I was saving from a year ago for a special occasion, and I'll make an in-live Spell to bless with Open-Roads & Prosperity energy to all the assistants to my workshop!
