What a difference 44 years makes juxtaposition of International Harvester Scout, 1980 and Scout Traveler Prototype, 2024. IH retired their Scout range in 1980 after a production run of 20 years. VW in the US has revived the Scout brand for a new electric SUV that will go on sale in 2027. Plug-in electric vehicle
A plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) is any road vehicle that can utilize an external source of electricity (such as a wall socket that connects to the power grid) to store electrical energy within its onboard rechargeable battery packs, to power an electric motor and help propelling the wheels. PEV is a subset of electric vehicles, and includes all-electric/battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).[5][6][7] Sales of the first series production plug-in electric vehicles began in December 2008 with the introduction of the plug-in hybrid BYD F3DM, and then with the all-electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV in July 2009, but global retail sales only gained traction after the introduction of the mass production all-electric Nissan Leaf and the plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt in December 2010.

Plug-in electric cars have several benefits compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. In one of the largest studies on EV mileage to date, researchers at GW and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory examined odometer data from 12.9 million used cars and 11.9 million used SUVs between 2016 and 2022. They found that battery electric vehicle (BEV) cars were driven almost 4,500 fewer miles annually than gas cars. The study found a gap for both cars and SUVs: electric cars had travelled 7,165 miles while gas-powered cars had travelled 11,642 miles annually, and electric SUVs travelled 10,587 miles while their gas-powered counterparts travelled 12,945 miles annually(..)
P.S. It is a well-known fact that ONLY RICH city dwellers who do not have to travel long distances and who can afford to charge their car at home or in the office can actually buy and use electric cars. More and more, especially in rural areas, I come across people who openly say that their old trusty diesel (it works in cold winter and hot summer and no worries to travel - 600 miles on a single tank of fuel.) will only be taken from their dead hands by the stupid government and the greedy rich...
Most "cheap" EVs can't go even 170 miles in real road conditions without a problems. This is one of the reasons why, as an electric car technology enthusiast, I resisted the legacy car manufacturer ads (You know this nonsense: average driver's daily trips are short...! But, what about long trips and unreliable chargers!???). I didn't buy their really overpriced "cheap" short-range EVs...These "legacy" electric cars are definitely NOT "cheap or affordable" and in many cases they are not practical for longer journeys, especially if charging stations are rare and unreliable...
In Europe, one of the cheapest and easiest "petrol" cars to buy, the Dacia Sandero Stepway (Bare bones price tag -14590 € in Latvia) easily outperforms any electric car over a long distance trips, besides, it costs at least 2x cheaper than "cheap" EVs, and for this price difference you can buy a huge tank of gasoline, which is enough for all the fossil fuel car for its life, and no worries about "charger anxiety"...! Plus, this fossil fuel car is still pretty basic by today's standards and won't break the bank to repair. This also explains why the Dacia brand is becoming popular among practical, rational and frugal motorists in Europe...

Forte crescimento nos topo de gama
As vendas no segmento topo de gama cresceram significativamente no quarto trimestre em 14% para as 83.800 unidades, resultando no melhor trimestre para este segmento em 2022. Os principais impulsionadores no quarto trimestre foram as vendas da AMG (+28%), Mercedes-Maybach (+25%) e do Classe G (+15%). A Mercedes-Maybach atingiu o melhor ano com a venda de 21.600 unidades (+37%). "No, no way, you can't-"
"Listen, it's the perfect plan!"
"NO! What if he gets you this time?! What will he do to keep you there?!"
"You've seen me outsmart him for months now, do you really think I wouldn't be able to escape?"
"It's just too risky! You can't do this-"
Bev and Joanne stand, ears pressed to the door, listening to Kimberly beg Hera not to do it. Bev still hasn't figured out whether the two of them are really a Goddess and her human lover, or two incredibly convincing liars. Joanne is close enough to Bev to smell her signature cologne, and she's intoxicated, barely able to focus on the conversation behind the door.
"Listen, my love, I told you that loving me is taking a chance, right? Having faith! Do you trust me?"
"I trust you! But I don't trust him. I don't know him."
"But I know him. I've known him for as long as we've both existed. I'm stronger and smarter. Please, agápi mou. I'm doing this for something bigger than a few moments of fear." Bev can hear the pleading tone in her voice. If she's faking, it's the best damn fake Bev's ever heard.

Joanne comes out to the lobby to bring Hera and Kimberly back. The receptionist's jaw is on the floor. Hera is wearing a long white maxi dress with a golden braided belt, her long wavy hair pulled back into a chignon. A few loose pieces of hair frame her face perfectly. Joanne shakes her head to refocus. Whoever that girl is, she's hot.
Hera and Kimberly file on into Bev's Cheyenne office. Bev has some scattered piles of paper strewn from one end of her desk to the other. "I'm going to give it to you straight, ladies - I don't know if I have enough information to represent you. I have no legal records, no proof of anything you've told me beyond your word." Hera's steely eyes stay focused on Bev as she speaks. "I have some damn good people who do my background checks. But there's no background to check. I have no idea where you come from, Sara."
"Please call me Hera from now on," she says steadily.
"Okay, *Hera,* but you have to understand my dilemma here. How can I represent you in a divorce if there's no proof you are married? If there's no proof your husband exists? There's barely any legally admissible proof that *you* exist." Bev sits back and puts her arms out in an exaggerated shrug. "Can you prove any of this to me? To the court?"
Kimberly stands up. "Maybe we should go," she says, putting an anxious hand on Hera's shoulder. "We didn't think this part through."
Hera's gaze softens as it falls on Kimberly. "No, we did not. We've been doing more running than thinking, I think." She puts her hand over Kimberly's. "You know how important this is to me. Maybe we should trust our friend to help." She gestures towards Bev.
"Are you sure about this?" Kimberly's eyes dart between Bev, Joanne, Hera. "I don't like this."
"Darling, let's hear what she has to say before we rush to conclusions." She winks at Kimberly, who slowly sits back down in her seat. She turns to Bev. "How can we prove it?"
Bev's shark smile lurks its way onto her face. "I'd love to speak with your husband myself. To get another perspective on this whole ordeal. And to prove to *me* that this is all real." Hera's dark eyes flash with the formation of some new idea.
"...I can understand how it might be challenging for a mortal to accept these things. So be it. I know a way I can prove it all to you, beyond a doubt." She smiles. Kimberly goes pale beside her. Hera describes her plan in detail as Kimberly continues to writhe in her seat with worry.
(Next week...)
It's a dry day in Phoenix. Not a cloud in the sky, no humidity in the air. Hera steps out of Bev's SUV and walks towards the gate of the airport. Her amber skin is literally glowing in the sunlight. Bev pulls down her sunglasses to look at her. Her full hips sway as she walks, her shoulders held in position with an air of easy confidence. This is a woman who embraces herself, Bev thinks. She's not afraid of anything.
Kimberly is on edge. She was confident, once upon a time, in who she was and what she wanted from life. Suddenly, here she was, confused, scared, and hopelessly smitten. She never imagined herself falling in love. Now, anxiety crept from the base of her spine upwards, watching the woman she loves so deeply walk as if she is heading into a party rather than straight into a dangerous game.
"I hear the weather is nice and clear from here to Salt Lake City," Hera says, a playful tone to her voice. "I've never been to Utah. We'll see what happens."
Joanne trails just behind Bev, thinking about the last time they were at the Phoenix International Airport. Bev was meeting with Peter for their 5th wedding anniversary. She had dressed herself up in a gorgeous black satin gown, white gloves, pearls. Joanne dropped Bev off at Quiessence earlier that evening to meet him. When Bev called Joanne to pick her up, she was a mess. Bev stepped out of the hospital in an old pair of scrubs. Her dress was crumpled up inside a plastic bag, her makeup was running, her voice caught in her throat like she'd been crying. Peter wasn't there. Bev did not want to talk, and Joanne knew better than to ask, anyways. It was enough to Joanne that she was the person Bev called. They boarded the first flight they could get back to Reno. Bev has not seen Peter in person since that night, not even on holidays. She catches Bev glance back at her, and offers her an understanding smile. Bev nods and faces forwards again.
The group boards the plane, Kimberly and Hera sitting beside one another in a window seat towards the front of the cabin, Joanne and Bev seated a few rows back.
The overhead speaker crackles to life. "Goooooood afternoon, passengers! This is your captain speaking. The forecast calls for clear skies and smooth sailing, so sit back and enjoy your flight!" Hera cackles.
Kimberly tries to swallow the lump in her throat. Hera reaches over and puts her hand over Kimberly's. "Remember the night we met?"
"Yeah, us and all the other folks with no families were getting drunk to forget about family holidays." She feels her cheeks flush. "I'd never seen you in the bar before; I knew everyone back then."
"Yes, my love. And you came over to try to talk to me but you just kept mumbling nonsense about the Byzantine empire." Hera giggles. Kimberly smiles. "I was there for that, honey."
"I could tell your accent was Greek and drunk me was trying to relate somehow," Kimberly says. "Honestly... that was probably a pretty problematic direction to go with that. Oh God, I was like, mansplaining Greek history to *you,*" She turns bright red.
Hera laughs. "I found it adorable. But one day we will go there and I will teach you about the parts that aren't in your textbooks." She smiles at Kimberly. "You big nerd," she adds, playfully.
(30 minutes into the flight...)
Bev has watched Hera and Kimberly carefully through the flight, hoping to find some sign she's been missing that might help her make sense of this. She can't help but wonder if it's all true. What would that mean?
"Bev, look!" Joanne snaps Bev out of focus. She's pointing to the window. The sky, that was clear and cloud-free before, is now quickly filling with black clouds.
"Attention passengers, uhhh... we're experiencing some unexpected changes to the weather. We're going to have to land and wait for it to pass. Please fasten your seatbelts and remember our emergency procedures. Please ask your flight attendant if you have any questions." The speaker dies down. All of the passengers are shocked, looking out the windows. Murmurs begin to raise.
Hera smiles. "Called it," she says.
A huge BOOM rattles the plane. Electricity crackles in the air as passengers cry out in shock. Hera stands. A flight attendant urges her to sit down. She looks directly at Bev and smirks. Then, she tilts her head back and lifts her arms.
Suddenly the sky that was black and full of thunder begins to clear. Bewildered passengers are staring directly at Hera. Is she taller? No... Bev realizes her feet have lifted off the floor. The inside of the plane has gone completely silent. People are recording with their phones.
A cloud of gray mist begins to materialize in the cabin of the plane. The passengers gasp as the mist begins to take shape. Large, bare feet. Muscular legs. A white robe. Cartoonishly buff arms. A head of long white hair adorned with a laurel crown.
"HERA! I COMMAND YOU TO RETURN HOME AT ONCE!" The voice is loud and thunderous. The passengers scream in terror.
"Oh, honey, so nice to see you, too." Hera croons, a sharp edge to her voice. "Took you long enough to catch up."
"I could've captured you several times in just the past week!" He says, unconvincingly.
"You know I hate it when you lie," Hera hisses.
"I have you cornered now!" Zeus proclaims. "You can't do anything without harming all of these people!"
"That's where you're wrong, idiot." Hera points a finger at Zeus, and his eyes become frantic as the soles of his feet begin to lift off of the floor. "I've gotten stronger since our last *lover's quarrel.* You're going to have to do better than a few little clouds." She says mockingly.
"PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!" His voice thunders, shaking the entire plane.
"Oh, you want down? I'll put you down, darling," Hera says, a snarled smile twisting the corner of her mouth. She snaps her fingers, and suddenly, Zeus is gone. The passengers are franticly trying to figure out what is happening.
Hera collapses, breathing heavily. Kimberly is holding her, wide-eyed. "Talk to me, please! Babe, look at me!"
"I'm okay.... just need to recover." Her breathing is still hard, but she looks up at Kimberly with a weak smile.
"What the FUCK just happened?!" Bev looks over at Joanne, who is hyperventilating. "HOW? WHAT? HOW..." Bev slaps her on the back and she takes a sharp, gasping breath.
"Snap out of it! We're fine." Bev looks sternly at Joanne, who nods and starts to try to catch her breath again. Bev stands up slowly and walks towards Hera and Kimberly. "Hera.... what happened to Zeus?"
Hera lets out a weak chuckle. "He asked me to put him *down.* I did. I put him in Hades." She smiles and closes her eyes. "Brother will be so pleased to see him."
"You idiot!" Kimberly cries, but then leans down to kiss Hera's forehead. Hera instead cups Kimberly's cheek and guides her mouth down to hers.
"....not to ruin the moment here or anything, but. Firstly, I believe you, sorry I ever doubted. Um, second. What does any of *this* mean?!" Bev is trying so hard to keep her cool. Inside, she's feeling some complex mix of emotions that can only be described as ecstatic nausea.
"He'll be back. He can get out of Hades. It'll just take him a while." Hera tries to sit up, but Kimberly scolds her, and she lies back again. "It took a lot of energy out of me to teleport him. He was off-guard. When he comes back, well... that won't work a second time."

According to MG Motor Indonesia-the British automobile brand, really big plans of the Indonesian auto sector in 2025 are underway. The company stated that new models of technology innovation and expansion towards electric vehicles and hybrid products will be the new departure for the company. However, the company set its sights on sustainable mobility, together with versatile car lines as the growth pillars. Breathing Grows in the Electric Vehicle Sector: MG4 EV Depowered with Advanced Battery
The introduction of the MG4 EV by MG comes as one step ahead to what already launched electric vehicle the brand currently touts. He Guowei confirmed the 2025 model that would feature a 64 kW battery capacity, improving it from the current 51 kW.
