after everything with nidhogg, it’s only understandable that misha does not want anything to do with a dragon’s eye. he can only stand hraesvelgr because it doesn’t whisper to him the way nidhogg does. but that doesn’t mean he wants to bear it.

he begs hraesvelgr to take his eye back after nidhogg is dead. he can’t bear to have it. and then passes out from his injuries, because hraesvelgr’s energy was the only thing keeping him going. poor thing.

I've been tagged in a few wip-sharing games on my main, so I'm using that as an excuse to post this snippet:

As his pen works, striking out and revising a clumsy turn of phrase, he feels the weight of eyes on his work. When he looks up, he meets the Warrior of Light’s gaze levelly. “You believe I am moving too swiftly,” he surmises. “Nanamo Ul Namo meant to make a republic of her city as well.” The observation is delivered quietly. Aymeric sets his quill aside and steeples his fingers on the desk. “I should think I do not flatter myself overmuch in thinking my political acumen compares favorably to that of Nanamo Ul Namo.” He glances downward. “I do not mean to insult the Sultana—in truth, I hold her in the highest regard for the strength of her convictions. But the fact remains that I have no intention to repeat her errors.”
