Gonna create my own genre of art called 'Unwanted Art' in which I take poor quality photos of what I'm working on that Aye Eye scrappy doos don't want in their stolen environment hazards.
Tumblr media
An attempt at automatic drawing - no active thoughts you just go. Takes practice.
I don't know how to describe the image for screen readers - it's an abstract expression of lines overlapping that evolved into an eye breaking down and through a house and a diamond eyed face lurks with a smile of malnourished teeth in the bottom left corner as it's been exorcized from it's trap.
I didn't make it for you.

I'm gathering notes on the practice of chaos magick with the aim of linking them to the practice of art (and music) in relation with my personal paradigm so that I can really get back into some things, and I'm transcribing some notes from Jan Fries' Visual Magick into my journal, and I see Fries say this:
If you try to learn 'automatic' drawing, you are creating a gate through which the deep may reveal itself.
I'm liking the framing of automatic drawing and the pursuit of learning it as "creating a gate through which the deep may reveal itself", because it connects to something I was expressing last year, after reading Revolutionary Demonology.
I must create in ways that bring demons and the demonic into the world, and in turn I must make myself demonic, so that I may propel towards the absolute and become divine.
I hope I'm not wrong in thinking I've stumbled on a way to bring demons into the world through artistic practice. 😈

"AUTOMATIC DRAWING" ANDRÉ MASSON | PARIS, 1924 [ink on paper | 9 1/4 x 8 1/8"]
André Masson began automatic drawings with no preconceived subject or composition in mind. Like a medium channeling a spirit, he let his pen travel rapidly across the paper without conscious control. He soon found hints of images—fragmented bodies and objects—emerging from the abstract, lacelike web of pen marks. At times Masson elaborated on these with conscious changes or additions, but he left the traces of the rapidly drawn ink mostly intact.

"The curious expression of character given by handwriting is due to the automatic or unconscious nature that it acquires by habit. So Automatic drawing, one of the simplest of psychic phenomena, is a means of characteristic expression and, if used with courage and honesty, of recording subconscious activities in the mind. The mental mechanisms used are those common in dreams, which create quick perception of relations in the unexpected, as wit, and psycho-neurotic symptoms. Hence it appears that single or non-consciousness is an essential condition and as in all inspiration the product of involution not invention."
— Austin Osman Spare, Automatic Drawing

The Last Ground Tower.
The last ground tower and column barn stood in the foothills just a mile or so from the beginning of the West Pass, meant to be the highest viewpoint outside of the mountains themselves. For 75 years it stood as a lookout for the Grand Mountain Guard in expectation of eventual military action from the plains, but in practicality, with the abolishment of the Organized Plainsman just a decade after its construction, it largely operated as a lighthouse of sorts, guiding the way for travelers returning from the mountains and providing shelter from the rough mountain conditions. When The Great Foothill Fall occurred, the majority of ground structures in the region were destroyed with the tower barely escaping major damage. Despite this, increased tectonic instability drove The Guard deeper into the mountains, requiring higher and higher lookouts, leaving the ground tower essentially obsolete and unused. Over the years it has become a popular stop for those adventurous enough to brave the foothills, with a few shops and even a bar established in its lower floors. Lodging can be found throughout the complex, though officially any inhabitants or businesses are in violation of the "Foothill Abandonment Act" and the structural safety of the tower and column barn are unknown at this time.
