If I had to prepare a violin as an ingredient in a meal, I’d probably turn it into a pasta dish. You know, like a violin penne or something. That way it blends in with the other ingredients and actually contributes to the meal’s taste. A sandwich just sounds unappetizing.

[ So I do want it stated for the record that even though "Kotone Shiomi" is now considered the official canon name for P3P's FeMC by Atlus, I will not be switching from "Hamuko Arisato". I have nothing against the name but I've been roleplaying her as Hamuko for years and I like the name.

what genre do you most enjoy, whether in roleplay, or fiction as a whole? (fantasy, period, superhero, etc.)

I'm not super picky, genre-wise, when it comes to what I read/watch/play. I like horror media a lot, but generally, I try to check out stuff that has themes I like, is by a studio/creator/whatever that I generally like, and that reviewers that align with my tastes/friends recommend. I could say "I'm into horror, and increasingly less into sci-fi" but there are some horror things that I can't stand, and some sci-fi that I really like, so it's hard for me to talk about my personal tastes specifically.

That said, about writing, it's much easier to narrow down. I like romance, I like drama, I like angst/dark content when it's with purpose rather than just for its own sake. I like fantasy, but somewhat narrowly in the vein of either "dark fantasy" or "full JRPG" - I'm not so into "kitchen sink" fantasy (I love D&D but I hate the forgotten realms so much, it is a disaster for fantasy worldbuilding) and unfortunately I don't care for a lot of the specific fantasy properties that are popular on tumblr rp. I generally like modern settings, I like anime-esque settings. Things like that.

which roleplay community has been your favorite to write in?

Oh jeez, I dunno. I've always kind of felt like the idea of a roleplay community is kind of overstated? Like I'll see people say "not affiliated with X community" in their rules, and I'm just like, until Toho/Atlus/Nintendo/Spike Chunsoft/whoever starts cutting me checks, neither am I. My experience is that, unless you do group RP or some other closed-circuit thing, the community you're part of is less "the X community" and more whatever community of people you've personally built around you.

I know there are people out there who do D&D RP and Fire Emblem RP and Danganronpa RP and Genshin Impact RP that I don't interact with, so are we part of the same community, or are we in two separate communities that happen to write some of the same characters or something? I dunno. I just see things as more small groups and individuals than a Big Community. I would say, though, that the community of people around me right now, my consistent partners and the things I'm doing over here and on the other blogs is probably the most group I've had, and the most fun I've had, in a long, long time.

That said, I HAVE been part of a community in the past, in the sense of big codified groups where you were expected to write with people just because they were in the group, and it was expected that you follow people just because your partners followed them. Marvel/DC in 2012-2014, a forum when I was younger (and a splinter forum from there) and let me tell you - Bad experiences all around for the most part! I much prefer this generally-individualized way.
